Need video editor recommendation

Anyone know of a free video editor that will allow me to target a moving object in video for masking purposes?
Thanks

Hi:
If you MAc is AGP the best option is the ATI X800 XT:
http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonx800/radeonX800xtme/
I heard that is no so easy to get these days !
The other AGP option is the Nvidia 6800:

Hope that helps !
EDIT: You'll get a lot of useful thrteads about this in the Expanding Your Power Mac G5 forum:

i need video editor and photos editor for nokia 603

have you checked that the video and photo editor isn't in the Gallery application? if it isn't , you can try re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite.
as for other photo editors/video editors, whatever is available in the Nokia Store is your best bet.

FPC wont let me render! I'm a video editor and have over 70 gb worth of videos on the imac which all need to be kept for various clients/backup/original versons but now beloved imac is full, only had it for 5 months! Will Ineed external hard drive every 5 months?? This can't be I've already resorted to getting rid of unsed applications such as garage band, iTunes, address book ect. I've trashed everything I could. what next ???
My video files are massive, converting them to a different format doesn't reduce the size of them it just turns them into mp4 or apple pro res ect
This iMac is for work only so there's no pictures, no music, no conacts, no messenger, no games, nonothing but videos!!

Have a look at this: http://grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net/
It will show you exactly what is taking up all of your space.
You also may want to consider some kind of external storage just for your video projects.

  • I have PSE 12 but only Video editor shows up, I need the photo editor

I bought PSE 12 for a class, but when I opened the program, only Organizer and Video Editor pops up.  The box says "create more amazing photographs", but there is no photo editor

Thanks for answering!  The disc is titled " adobe  photoshop elements 12" (windows).  In smaller print off to the right side I see it says "Adobe Premier Elements 12 Trial Included".  Did I just install it improperly?  If so, can I delete PSE from my computer & re-load it?  Thanks!

  • [updated] LiVES video editor

    Heya,
I'm no video-expert, but since there was also a request for cinerella, maybe this one is also nice for some people ... The main/original purpose of this video-editor was/is anime-video's. But I would recommend checking it out yourself ...
The multi_encoder is included. What is still missing is export to swf. What is supported, is mpeg-1, mpeg-2, vcd, divx, theora, ...
Containers as ogg, matroska, ...(?) are supported.
    For sound : mp3, vorbis, pcm ...(?)
How you can get a list of the available audio-codecs that can be used in combination with your choosen video-codec/encoder:
First select the encoder and video-codec. Press "apply". Now, you can view your available audio-codecs. I suppose, you have to press "apply" again and then press "ok".
A hint if they are needed: You can load multiple files. Everytime you open a file, the other one isn't thrown away ... unless you close it explicitly as far as I know. You can switch between the clips using the clips-menu or the keyboard-shortcuts (ctrl+pageup/pagedown).

I won't pretend to know what I'm doing, as I'm fairly new to
    Arch, but it's not hard.
First of all, make sure you install "fakeroot" (pacman -Sy fakeroot)
Then, on the AUR page for "LiVES", there is:
    Tarball :: Files :: PKGBUILD
And below that the dependencies are listed. They can probably be had
from the normal repositories. Get them if you don't have them.
Next, download the Tarball and extract it somewhere. This will
create the directory "lives". Enter this dir and as a regular user,
    do:
    makepkg
This will download the source and build a package like this:
    lives-0.9.8_pre2-1.pkg.tar.gz
If you've gotten no errors, su to root and install with:
    pacman -A lives-0.9.8_pre2-1.pkg.tar.gz
    Notes:
Be sure to build as regular user
If the download won't start, ctrl/c to abort and do makepkg again.
I don't know what to do with the left over files and build dir.
    I've just been sh*t-canning them.
    Removal would be:
    pacman -R lives-0.9.8_pre2
Please keep in mind that everything I've told you is probably
    wrong so... Good Luck
    P.S.
    Have you used LiVES before?
    minus:
    Very slow to start
Painfully slow to import clips and render effects.
    plus:
    Very stable
    Lot's of effects

I would be glad for the opportunity to customize a Premiere Elements 12 answer to your Premiere Elements 12 issue.
But, I want to make sure that we are together on the details. This is my understanding of what you have written. Please review and let me
know if I am misinterpreting anything that you have written.
You have a video created in Windows Movie Maker.
How did you output the video from Windows Movie Maker...wmv or mp4, what was the frame size and frame rate of that export?
Next you import that video into Premiere Elements 12 (can we assume that this is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?)
From what you wrote, you have applied a pan and zoom effect to your video in Premiere Elements.
Now you go to export the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content with your video with the pan and zoom applied.
But, the pan and zoom effect is not seen in playback of the export.
Is all of the above correct so far?
If so....we are going to need some more details from you...
    a. What is the project preset that you or the project are setting to match the properties of the video coming from Movie maker? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
    b. Are you applying the pan and zoom effect with the Pan and Zoom Tool, fx Effects Presets, or keyframing the Scale (for Zoom) and
Position (for Pan) in the Motion Panel expanded?
    c. What are you selecting as your export in Publish+Share/. Please give details...are you using default settings or customizing the export
setting under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
I am suspecting some sort of mismatch of your project settings or some problems with working with the Pan and Zoom tool. I need
your answers to help me help you. If I have written anything that you do not understand, please let me know. I will re-write if necessary
so that we are in sync to resolve the issue.
    Thanks.

I'm a video editor working primarily in FCP7 and just purchased the latest Mac Pro running Yosemite ? Does anyone know if any options have become available for running FCP7 on this platform ?

It would "run" (more like Sunday stroll or walk) if you installed Snow Leopard in a VM. Especially if you have 6-core (and would help to have 6 or 8 cores anyway if you were able to and intend to make best use of nMP for video editing).
If you "classic" Mac Pro was 2009 or later, adding two AMD graphic cards, upgrading the processor to 8-core 3.xGHz would have gotten you a FCP-X capable machine and still dual boot and use Snow Leopard as needed.
Any Mac Pro can now use 1000MB/sec SSD PCIe blade to boot from and/or for scratch and editing to help improve work flow.

I've installed trial version of Premier elements 11 OK and Icon appears on desktop. When I try to run it, I can see from my screen that it tries to load and initialise but the video editor does not appear. Any ideas? I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. • The video editor is not working

I have a nokia 701 with symbian belle on it and the video editor program is not working I searched  for a solution on the internet and its written that I just can open the video and edit it but it didn't work with me and thier is no edit option on the video, I also tried to uninstall the program to install it again but the program is protected and can't be uninstalled.
so I came here with hope to find a solution to my problem so please help me.

have you recently upgraded to Belle Feature Pack 2? Because the video editor has moved to the Gallery itself. otherwise, check if there are any firmware updates available for your device, and update to the latest version offered.
failing that, you can try re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite and if that doesn't work, then you may need to perform a three-finger hard reset. please make a backup of all personal data first as this reset wipes everything.
Failing the above, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support

OpenShot has failed to import some of the Python files or libraries
required for our application to run. Here are some trouble shooting
    tips:
Tip 1) Check if MLT can be successfully imported in Python. Run the
following commands, and see if any errors are displayed. If you get
an error, you need to investigate the correct way to install MLT.
NOTE: Do not type the $ or >> characters in the examples below.
    $ python
    >> import mlt
    >> mlt.Factory().init()
Tip 2) If MLT is working from the first example, then the next tip is
to look at the above error messages very closely, and google for more
help. It's likely the problem is already reported, and maybe there is
a simple work-around. Also, you can search for bugs or report a new
    bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot. Good luck!
    Command running python:
    [wordstrings@DTR-Arch-Linux ~]$ python
    Python 3.3.3 (default, Nov 26 2013, 13:47:45)

I downloaded the openshot tarball off their website (openshot.com) and checked/installed the list of dependencies that came with it in the README file, (this)
OpenShot Video Editor is programmed in Python, and thus does not need
to be compiled to run. However, be sure you have the following
dependencies in order to run OpenShot successfully:
    1) Python 2.5+ (http://www.python.org)
    2) GTK & pyGTK (http://www.pygtk.org)
    3) GooCanvas & Python bindings (http://live.gnome.org/GooCanvas)
    4) MLT Framework (http://www.mltframework.org)
    5) Sox audio library
    6) Frei0r video effect library
    7) FFmpeg
Afterwards, I cd into the openshot directory, to run this command:
    $ sudo python setup.py install
which triggers the setup.py file in it, but the shell gave me this error output
    [wordstrings@DTR-Arch-Linux openshot-1.4.3]$ sudo python setup.py install
    [sudo] password for wordstrings:
    File "setup.py", line 23
    print "Execution path: %s" % os.path.abspath(__file__)
    ^
    SyntaxError: invalid syntax
Is there anyway I can alter line 23 in setup.py so the install command will work?

Have you used the program between January 2014 and now July 2014?
When you get these messages are you responding by clicking on the License this Product option or just ignoring it?

  • I want the video editor program for my Creative Vista Webcam

I have the model Creative Vista webcam N0225 - I lost the CD but found a link of how to download the camera without the CD reccently. I'm getting into making home videos-but-I dont know how to edit them with deleting parts adding music and fonts. I need the editor program for my webcam so I can start editing my videos. If anyone could help it would much be appriciated! Thanks.x

Unless you are using a beta, Release Candidate, a 'N' version or Home Basic, I can only point you in the direction of Windows Movie Maker. That should do you for now. If you are using one of the versions I mentioned above, then you're stuck for now. Creative have yet to announce if and when any updates will arri've for camera products.

  • N96 Video Editor Missing

    Hi,
N95 had a fantastic video editing function where you could author cool videos on the phone without even connecting to a PC. However, the video editing functionalities seem to be missing in N96. Has this feature been removed from N96?

If you require a video editor there are tons out there.
You can even use Windows Movie Maker in your PC if you want.
    Nero Platnium
    Roxio Movie Premium
    Adobe Elements
    etc. etc.
The phone doesn't have enough power to do the complex tasks of video editing.
I had the N95 with the video editor and also the N93 had it, but if you had high quality videos (VGA) it will always crash, only QVGA videos seemed to work. Also many times after spending a great deal of time creating a MUVEE (texts, credits, audio, different video clips, etc.) sometimes it will just reset the phone and all my work is lost.
I don't really miss this application because I think it was impractical, sure it works ok for a quick video editing, but if you're going to do any more serious editing you need proper software in a PC or MAC.
    just IMHO
640K Should be enough for everybody
