Need WiFi for Touch. Have wired connection. Is there a usb wifi adapter?

I have wired internet and wanted to know if there was some sort of usb adapter that would allow my computer to send out wifi signals to my iPod touch? (There was once something like this for the psp) Thank you.

You can use an Airport Express or simply replace your wired router with one that supports both wired and wireless.

Using Wired Connection on a Laptop with an adapter

I have a Linksys Router WRT54GX2 connected wired to a Toshiba Laptop. I have a Dell Laptop with a WPC54GX4 notebook adapter. The wired connection has worked perfectly since the beginning, but I have had terrible problems with the wireless connection. It will connect fine, but after 5 minutes or so, it will start to degrade and finally die. I have other people bring their notebooks to my place and I have been able to duplicate the problem on their machines, so I know it is not the adapter. I tried everything that technical support has told me, but nothing has worked and basically I have given up. My question though is if I am using the dell laptop wirelessly and the connection dies in the middle of a download or something and I just want to disconnect the wired connection from the Toshiba and put it in the Dell, do I have to disable the adapter first or can I just plug it in as it is?

   I will tell you some of the steps you can try..
  If you are having a cable ISP provider means,
  1. Hard reset the router. (But not for all the time.. it will let the router to gone bad)
   2. logon to the router setup page .personalize your wireless settings.
       change the wireless ssid , channel -11
   3. secure your wireless network.. so that you can avoid frequent disconnection.
  4. upgrade the firmware 1.01.14

No, sorry, your printer does not have wireless capability. Ethernet cables can be very long, however. Also you could invest in "powerline ethernet" that uses your home's electrical wireing for the Ethernet connection.

Need solutions for PC to HDTV connection

Alright folks after searching around and not finding exactly what I'm looking for, it's time to post a new thread. I've been to multiple sites reading their information, watching their videos, trying what they say to do. No joy still. I have a question about connecting my bosses older computer to a new HDTV, the vision here is a room full of decision makers with my boss at his computer running a PowerPoint presentation, (so we can all see it without crowding around his desk) then we make decisions as a workgroup, looking at the HDTV from around the table. He also needs to have the PPT presentation on both his monitor, and the HDTV screen. Computer Specs: DELL Optiplex 760 Video Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 3450 w/DVI-D out, and 4 pin S-video out The video adapter DVI out has a splitter cable attached that connects via VGA connectors to two DELL monitors. The S-Video port is unused (I tried to connect this way but could not). HDTV Specs: The HDTV has S-Video in, HDMI x3, RCA, VGA x1. Cables available for use: 25' VGA w/audio 20' S-Video 4-pin Can we connect using current hardware or do we need to purchase extra hardware? What type of hardware? We have BestBuy stores # 763 and 852 at our disposal if materials need to be purchased.

There is no reason other than hardware failure for your S-Video not working. Make sure that when your S-Video is connected, you change the PC's display to clone mode. Right click anywhere on the desktop and click on the ATI Catalyst Control Center. If it prompts you to choose between basic or advanced, choose advanced. The menu to left should have a "Manage Displays" option or something similar. You can set the monitors to clone from there. If you do not have a Catalyst option after you right click, you can go into display properties then settings then Catalyst Control Center.
This is probably something you already know, but just in case... Make sure the TV's source is set to S-Video

Help needed please for master socket wiring

I am renovating a house built in the 1970's which I shall be moving into shortly.
My electrician has put in telephone sockets in two of the bedrooms but when he came to the master socket he found the builders had by mistake cut the wire too short so he could not make a connection.
The master socket is in the hall low down on the wall and it looks as if the wire comes into the house underground.
I have spent hours on the telephone trying to get the right person to speak to at BT who tells me I need to contact Open Reach as it is damage and when I eventually found a number to ring them they tell me it is BT's problem.
In exasperation I telephoned the moving house line as none of the press button numbers seemed relevant.
I just want a BT person to come and have a look to see what to do but they have told me that I need to give them a date for when I move and they will come and look then. However, I need the builders to fill in the large hole in where the wire comes into the house so I can have a floor laid.
Any help would be so much appreciated

Need password for my Wi Fi connection for 02ZT1?

I bought a new Apple touch Ipod. It keeps asking for a Wi Fi password for 02ZT1. Any ideas where I can get it? I tried several and it won't let me join
a network.

Whose Wi-Fi are you trying to use?
If it's yours, then the password is whatever you set it to, or maybe a default if you haven't chosen a password yourself. If the Wi-Fi is a public one such as a cafe, then the password would be supplied (by the cafe) to those people they want to give it to, such as their customers. If the Wi-Fi is someone else's, such as your neighbour's ... well, they probably have a password to prevent anyone else using it. I do.

I am trying to install vista X64 and X86 in my touch smart 1025DX (Dont ask me about the recovery cd.. still waiting it on mail)
and the funny thing is.. there is no touch screen driver for X86 nor for X64 (which is the default OS came with this laptop) posted in HP's website
also, web cam driver is missing.. after installation.. windows can find the finger print reader but its not working at all.
I just wonder if anyone know how to address those issue? Thx

Need help for front pannel audio connection

Hi everyone,
I've a msi p4m800 board. Its doing good but i want to connect the front pannel audio connection but am a beginner and don't really know about the pin assignment.
There are 5 small cables for audio marked as:
spkL
spkR
Mic
Mic power
Gnd.
I know to connect these in 10 pin JAUD1 slot but how? Am much confused and I really want to connect front pannel audio.
ps: is there any possibility to damange the system if i connect these pins wrongly?

Please refer to your manual, there should be a page to teach you on how to connect the front panel audio.

My touch shows the connect to itunes with usb on screen however when i try to do so it says it cannot connect because it is locked with a passcode. It will not let me enter the code on the ipod or computer. so i cant do anything. Any ideas?

I have tried rebooting it. nothing seems to help. it always ends up with the same screen a picture prompting me to hook up via usb to itunes.Then without fail i get an error message. itunes connpt connect to the ipod touch because it is locked with a passcode. you need to enter the passcode on the ipod touch first. unfortunately the touch will not show any other screen but the connect to itunes.

Connect the iPod touch to your iTunes library in Recovery Mode and restore it to factory setting. See this article for instructions on getting your device into Recovery Mode.

New ipod touch won't connect, shows itunes and usb icons

My son just got a new ipod touch for his birthday. I have the latest version of itunes, and I have spent hours scouring the internet looking for a solution. Whether the thing is plugged into the computer or not, all it will do is show the usb cable icon and the itunes icon. When I plug it into the computer, my computer makes the noise that indicates that a device has plugged in, the ipod beeps one beep, and I get an error message from itunes that says that a rented movie from the ipod cannot be imported into itunes. Other than that, the computer, including itunes, doesn't acknowledge the existence of the ipod, not in the device manager, in itunes, in the itunes diagnostics tests, or anywhere else. In addition, the battery won't charge.
Also, I noticed that I do not have anything called "Apple Mobile Device Service," although I do have something called "Bonjour service." Are these the same thing or could this be the problem. Please HELP!

my G3 Clamshell iBook only has a USB port and i need to connect my external Firewire Drive. can someone help me figure out how to do this? This iBook happens to be running 10.2.8 if it matters. You can buy a 3.5" drive enclosure with USB that
supports IDE, remove the hard drive from the Firewire
one and put it in the USB enclosure. Mind you, the
iBook G3's USB is the old slow USB 1.1, and will only
transfer at up to 12 Mbps and can't boot off that
drive.
As for fixing the blue screen issue, once you have
your data backed up for certain, then you can go
ahead and check and see if the following will work on

... wow, im sorry it's taken me this long to post my responce but it has been busy here on my mac front. thank you for all your input but everything just happened to work it's self out in one of the best ways possible. I bought myself a max'd out 2gig SDRAM,bright 'n GLOSSY 2.16GHz MACBOOK PRO. say that fast twice after a few drinks. Now that i have a working DVD drive i can just connect my USB to my ibook and Firewire to the other, at different times ofcourse, to upgrade and anything else needed. When i'll actually get to any of that is anyones guess since i plan on spending alkl my time on this wonderfull machine that for one thing when you double click open any app by the time youre lifting off that second click that app is up open and finished loading its startup and ready to go!!!! it's about time these run this fast. Hi, I purchased the Adobe Creative Suite 6 on my student pricing for $399. I only had a PC at the time so i've purchased a disk drive PC version. As a student in the Graphic Design industry I've been urged to become a Mac user, thus I now own a Macbook, but cannot use my Adobe programs. Is there someway I can change the license for the PC suite to Mac? It's quite expensive, and a waste of $400 to keep in on a PC I don't use.

This discussion may help.
It mostly depends on the camera. Some cameras have a Transfer Mode, which does not attempt to charge while transferring pictures. does yours have such a setting?
Alternatively you can try to plug a powered USB hub between the camera and the USB connector so the power is provided by the HUB rather than the iPad.
Other than that, yes the Memory card reader may be a better option assuming your Camera uses Secure Digital (SD) type memory cards.
