  • Itunes won't launch says I need windows 2000 or higher: I have XP

When I upgraded to Itunes 7 it installed, but when I try to launch I get a message saying I need Windows 2000 or higher to run quicktime. I have Windows XP.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Itunes and Quicktime twice now, and I still get the same message.
Since I have a newer operating system than 2000 I am at a loss.

is that message mentioning "compatibility settings"? if so, try the following document:

  • With Windows XP I have Firefox 4 and am trying to download Firefox 6 but it rejects saying I need Windows 2000 or newer

Tried several times to download Firefox 6 as upgrade to Firefox 4 and near end of download I get error message that I need Windows 2000 or newer. I have windows XP 2002. Cannot find error in my system.

This is typically caused when an add-on changes the user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox). To rectify this you can reset your user agent string.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''general.useragent.override''', right-click (or control-click) on it and select '''Reset''', this will set the user agent string back to the default in Firefox 4
There are other user agent string settings that may have been modified, but these are no longer used in Firefox 4. You can reset them if you want, for details see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Websites+or+add-ons+incorrectly+report+incompatible+browser

You can't watch HBO using the Safari browser on the iPad at all. HBO has an app in the App Store called HBO GO. You must subscribe to HBO in order to use it

  • Conflict: My OS is Windows 2000 Pro. and I have a 3rd gen. ipod nano.

I know that I need to have either Windows XP or Vista to run itunes 7.6, but I was wondering if there is an older version of itunes that I could download and if it would work for my ipod.

There is an older version of iTunes that will work with Windows 2000 but it's below the required specification for the latest Nano:

How can I reset the ipod with windows Vista?

Put it on the dock connector, connect it to your computer, and charge it for at least 30 minutes then see if your computer can see it.

  • Every app I try to download says I need iOS 6 or higher I have the first generation iPad what can I do?

I have a first generation iPad every app I try to download says I need iOS 6.0 or higher to use it is there anything I can do?

Some apps will let you run on a lower version of iOS.  Here's how to find out if the ones you want will run on your iPad.
    1.  Open iTunes on your computer and go to the App Store
    2.  Download the apps you want to your iTunes account in iTunes
    3.  On your iPad, tap the App Store
    4.  Tap the purchased tab
    5.  The apps you downloaded to your iTunes account on your computer will be listed with a cloud icon next to them.
    6.  Tap the cloud and if the app will run on a lower version of iOS, it will give you the option to download a version that will run on your iPad.  If the app doesn't give you the option, there's nothing you can do.

  • New iPod Classic needs Vista, I have got Windows 2000. Any way round this?

I have just run over my iPod photo 60 GB with the lawn tractor and reduced it to tiny fragments!
Having purchased a replacement, in the form of a Classic 120 GB, I now find that it requires a later version of iTunes - which also requires a later version of Windows than the Windows 2000 Professional I currently have. I appreciate Windows 2000 is "old hat" but I know that all my other programs run OK with it and may well not run with a later operating system.
I have over 10,000 songs within my iTunes library which I am scared of losing.
Is there a way round this conundrum?

You won't be able to use this to do any future updates/restores on your iPod.

  • User Logon Name (pre-Windows 2000) and Domain Name Don't have the same Value

    Hi
is it possible to have User Logon Name (pre-Windows 2000) and Domain Name with different value?
    Exemple:
    domain name domain1.com
    and User Logon Name (pre-Windows 2000) Domain2\user

If you have trust in place, then also you can use trusted domain name to login from trustee domain. Also, UPN suffix can be added.

  • Why can't I download Shockwave 11 on Windows 2000

I have a Windows 7 but I'm trying to update some plugins that keep popping up on every page that loads on my mom's computer saying it needs updating. (The computer only runs slow when it pops up which drives me crazy) She has a Windows 2000 and Shockwave has to be updated to Shockwave11 (she has 10.1 ). I tried to install it but when i do I get an error message that says
"Adobe Shockwave Player is unsuported on Microsoft Windows 2000. Adobe Systems Inc does not verify the behavior of Adobe Shockwave Player on this platform. Please see the technote http://www.adobe.com/go/kb40332 for more information"
Then it asks if i wish to continue and another error pops up and basically I have to abort the installation. Adobe says that Shockwave 11 can be installed on Windows 2000 but I would have to install "Microsoft GDI+library" for it to let me install it. I installed them and I still get the same message. What do I do???

I remember getting the same message when I still had Windows 2000 a few years ago.  Continuing from that message always installed Shockwave Player 11 successfully.
What was the 2nd error you were getting?

  • Forms 4.5 or Forms 5.0 on Windows 2000

My client has Forms 4.5 applications running on windows NT. They also have a Forms 5.0 license.
They would like to move from Windows NT to Windows 2000 OS. I want to know whether the applications
created using Forms 4.5 and Forms 5.0 can be deployed on Windows 2000?
Also, I have seen on the otn that earlier versions of forms cannot be migrated directly to Forms 9i. They need
to be migrated to Forms 6i first. Does this mean that Oracle still markets 6i products for the sake of clients
    still on older forms version?
If not, how do I migrate the above 4.5 and 5.0 forms to 9i?
    Thank You
    Aruna Banwasi

The forms that were created in 4.5 on NT will work on 2000 without any recompilation.
Personally, I do not see any reason to move from 4.5 to 5.0 (from developer/2000 version
1.6.1 to developer/2000 version 2.1). Besides, I know there are lots of
bugs in version 5.0 which were still not fixed. As you might know,
the official oracle error correction support for both of these versions are stopped.
Given all these facts, here are my recommendations:
If you want to stay on client/server environment, the only option for the
upgrading is forms/reports developer 6i (Oracle changed the name of the product, so
in 6i, it is no longer called as developer/2000).
If you want to move your forms/reports to web, then the only
logical upgrade option is 9iDS (which includes forms/reports 9i) and
the 9iAS enterprise edition (which includes the forms/reports 9i services)
    combination.
Note: if you upgrade to 6i , you can still use the forms server (6i)
to web-enable your forms BUT bear in mind - you will still need to obtain
an iAS license to do that.

  • Steps for installing oracle 9i AS in windows 2000

    Hi,
I have windows 2000 server and i have already installed oracle 9i database in c:\oracle9ids folder.
Now i want to install oracel 9i Application server and oracle 9i Infrastructure.
I am bit confused with the procedure of installation.
Can anyone help me with the steps and sequence whether i have to install the oracle 9i application server first and if so,what should be the oracle home for this. For this should i select c:\oracle9ids (where i have installed oracle 9i database) as the oracle home or should i install this in a separate oracle home.
Similarly when i should install oracle 9i infrasturcture(is it before the oracle 9i application server installation or after this) and also what should be the oracle home for that(is it the oracle home c:\oracle9ids,where the oracle database is installed or in a separate oracle home).
Also, can anyone send me the links for these 2 manuals.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

All of the doc is available from OTN - follow the links on the left nav bar -> Documentation -> Oracle9iAS and then choose the Doc library for the specific release you are interested in. The site seems to be down right now but if you follow the links above you will find both of these on the 'Getting Started' tab.
    Oracle9i Application Server Concepts Guide
    Oracle9i Application Server Administrator's Guide
The installation manual and release notes are in the platform specific doc libraries - also available from the Documentation link on the left nav. These should provide the information you need to understand the steps to follow to install - if you find these steps confusing please let me know your specific comments so we can look to make improvements in the next release of the product.
I am assuming you are installing Oracle9iAS 9.0.2.x.
Let me clarify how the Oracle9iAS 902 install works.
    1. Firstly, if you want to use the Oracle9iAS infrastructure - ie for management purposes/single signon/portal or other components that require metadata then you need to install the Infrastructure first.
This must be installed into it's own brand new oracle_home. This will, by default, install an Oracle9i database tha[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

  • Make mac windows 2000 compatible

i have to hook up a unit to my mac book to up date my real estate key.
the unit needs windows 2000, x or 7 to run.
i was told that i can down load an app on my mac called BOOT CAMP that will make it compatible.
anyone know about this? i dont see an app called boot camp.

In your utilities folder You will find an application called bootcamp. Press this and it will carefully guide you through the process. However, on the macbook air there is no disk drive, So that is also a problem.
    Good luck.

  • WRT54G2 connection issues with a windows 2000 laptop, HELP!!! please?

Ok, at my house I have a newer version of a wireless router (I can't remember which). The old windows 2000 laptop that I have connects perfectly there, but when I installed a WRT54G2 router at my grandma's house it wouldn't connect to the router. My vista laptop and my grandma's vista desktop both are connecting to the router fine (as is evident in my typing this right now), but not the windows 2000.
It is registering that the signal exists, however, it says that it is out of range and it can't connect every time I try. Which makes no sense at all because the laptop in question is sitting no more than 4 ft away from the router.....
It's driving me insane! Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this problem? Plus I'm not even sure if it's an issue with the computer or if it's an issue with the router itself......
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks,
    illueia
P.S. sorry if I was too rambley...... or I wasn't clear enough....

Download and install the latest driver for your wireless card...
I aaume the security on the WRT54G2 wireless router must be WPA/WPA2 and that's the reason your Laptop(win2000) does not connect to it...
What error do you get when you attempt to connect to the Wireless Network ?
If it connects to your wireless network then what IP Address do you get for your Wireless Connection ?
