Need Windows 8 ISO file

My hard drive is at the verge of failing me so I bought a new one and it seems I have an OEM version of Windows 8 that was pre-installed on my laptop.
I need the ISO file to install Windows 8 on my new HDD but can't seem to find a clean copy and don't want to use Torrent as it may contain malware, etc...
Does anyone know if Lenovo sends replacement disks in such cases? My laptop is only 1 year-old and I surely don't want to buy a new version of Windows 8.
Thank you,

My Z40-70, purchased 2 weeks ago, did not give the option to backup to DVD-R, says can only use a 16GB Flashdrive for a recover drive. looked under the Maintenance folder, where the create a restore disc was suppose to be, and it's empty.
How much does Lenovo charge for a Win8.1 Recovery Disc(s)? Always like to have them on hand in case of a bad hard drive, more so for later on when the warranty is over.

I am trying to reinstall Windows (would not launch).  I removed the partition and started over.  I downloaded the support files and Windows 7 iso file to a USB drive.  However, when I try to run the setup.exe program I get the message "this program cannot be run in DOS mode."  I was successful before, what am I doing wrong this time?

    Try a restart.
If that doesn't fix the problem, shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • How to enable Windows 7 ISO file for iMac Computer

    ** extremely urgent
    Dear Sir or Madam:
Due to my misunderstanding,an Apple Customer has purchased Windows 7 ISO file for his iMac Computer.
But, the fact is that Apple only allows this on computers that support booting from an USB drive (aka they don't have optical drive).
Though, whether i can adopt an non-recommendation folk prescription, i.e."http://www.codez4mac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=212&t=61921"?
Are there any risk there ?
    Please correct me ASAP.
    Thank you !

Meanwhile, are there any risks there?
I doubt any "risk", only very likely thing is that OSX updates will likely rewrite the supported Macs file & if you had need to install Win7 again from ISO, then you'd need to edit that file again.
I think there was mention of this by Mike Breeden today, but the site is not available for the first time in years right now...

  • Need Windows 7 ISO

When I try to download the Windows 7 ISO from the Microsoft website, after entering the product key, I get this message:
    "Unsupported Product
The product key you entered appears to be for software that was pre-installed on a device.  Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options."
Does HP make the Windows 7 ISO available for download anywhere?
    Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, Microsoft stopped allowing download of the iso unless you have a retail license key. HP does not offer a download-you will need to call HP Support in your region to order Recovery Media.

    ====================== Keyless Install ================================
How to perform a 'Keyless Install' of Windows:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD disc you created and start the installation process.
After you enter user name and password you will be asked to: 'Type your Windows product key', do not enter a key.
Also located just below the box where you would enter the key is a box with a check mark to 'Automatically activate Windows when I am online', remove the check mark and click 'Next'.
You will now have a 30 day grace period in which to activate Windows.
During this 30 day grace period you can try resolving your problems.
After you are satisfied all problems have been resovled then activate Windows.
    ====================== Device Drivers =================================
Go to your computer manufacture's support web site and check for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.
If there are Windows 7 drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the Motherboard/chipset drivers, SATA, LAN, Audio, USB, Graphics, Webcam, Etc., and so on.

Can anyone tell me where can i get paper and source code about implement ISO file structure on the JC?
Thanks for you view this question.
    Erebus.

    Nihao,
There is no documentation about this because ISO FileStructure is not supported in current JC specs. You can explore the JavaPurse project providet with the JC development kit form SUN and find there cyclic file implementation. All other implementations should be then programmed in similar way.
(And do not worry about your english, it is good enough. Better than my chineese ... couldn't even order a cab last year I was in Taipei .... )

  • Boot camp wont show the option for installing via iso file

    version 5.0.2(462)
the boot camp doesnt show the option to install the windows  via iso file
i wanna install windows 7 via an iso file
plz help me as soon as possible

That option is only available for Macs without a built-in SuperDrive (the MacBook Air, Mid 2011 and newer Mac minis, the Late 2012 iMac, and the MacBook Pro with Retina display).
If you haven't got one of those computers and Boot Camp Assistant doesn't show the option to install Windows 7 from a ISO file, your Mac doesn't support the Windows installation from a USB because it's restricted by firmware to a Mac without a SuperDrive. In this case, you have to buy Windows 7 on a DVD from eBay or Amazon, and use it to install Windows through Boot Camp.
If you still wants to install Windows from a ISO file, the only option is to install it on a virtual machine, using an application like Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox

I am attempting to install Windows 8.0 into a virtual machine with VMWare Fusion 6.02.  I've got XP running on an older MacPro so with VMWare so I'm somewhat familiar with how this works but by no means an expert.  Foolishly I purchased a license for Windows 8.1 without doing any research on how to get the ISO file.  I can download the .exe file to my MacBook Pro no problem but need to have the .iso file on external media in order to install using VMWare which is pretty straightforward (usually).

How to I buy an ISO file of Windows 8.1 to install on my new MacBook bootcamp?
I can only find DVDs of Win 8.1; the online download is for upgrades from Win 7 only.  I need a clean install version.

Yes, you can use a Parallels VM and run the Download Manager to download the Installation Media in a format of your choice. If your Mac has a built-in Optical drive, you can burn it. Please ensure you burn the DVD at the rate supported by the media. You should also verify the MD5sum/SHA1 for the downloaded file(s) using the Microsoft FCIV tool.
