Need you help !!! -- datasource field to ECC table mapping for 0material

Dear experts:
Recently we need to get a quick turnaround on the fields we would be bringing into BW through standard extractors for the tables MARC and MBEW. My idea is to look at those master data extractors like 0MATERIAL, 0PLANT and then try to find how fields in datasource mapped to ECC table.
So now I have 2 questions need your suggestion:
1. Is my way above feasible or any other way to get the fields mapping information for one specific table (Not datasource) ?
2. For 0MATERIAL_ATTR, I can neither find the table of origin for those datasource fields in SAP Library, nor in Tcode LBWE (Seems LBWE only for transaction data?). Can anybody give me a link for the fields mapping of 0MATERIAL and 0PLANT? or let me know where I can find those mapping information?

Well, the idea is simple. If you are using master data, then the easiest way is to find out which table is the master data stored. For eg. Material master data is stored in MARA table. Therefore 0MATERIAL_ATTR fetches data from the MARA table.
The next option is to check the function module.
1) Goto RSO2, and enter the data source name->display. The system wil throw a warning giving you the FM.
2) For eg. 0MATERIAL_ATTR will throw the error "DataSource 0MATERIAL_ATTR is extracted using functional module MDEX_MATERIAL_MD".
3)Go to SE37, and put the FM->display. Then go to the tables tab. You will see tables like BIW_MARA_S. The middle term is usually the table.
Another option is go to table RSGENFIELDMAP and put the field in the field selection. This would give the mapping.

Hi,
I don't think you can directly link any search help with BEDNR without modification. If a search help was already linked, we could have gone for append search help. But in this case, nothing is there. So the options would be,
see whether you can insert any search help through enhancements in the screens..You have to do it in every screen then.
Other option is create a database view, & replace the dataelement with your own with a search help. You can refer this view after that.
or go for modification & change the dataelement.

I need you help urgently my job is on the line

I really need you help it is very urgent as my job is in trouble! In may my I phone got lost I had all back up on my me account and Managed to save my contact list on my I pad however the next day after my I phone got stolen , the mobile me was closed and when I started using I cloud I could not find my list.
I never update my I pad to I tunes but recently when I got my I phone 5 and my mini I pad by mistake when I was synchronizing all the list got deleted ! Please help me I need to get it bk! If you can manage to find it somewhere please help me find the contact list.

If you were syncing your contacts with your computer via MobileMe then your contacts should be in the contact manager you sync with on your computer.
If not, and you haven't maintained offline backups of your contacts, or didn't move your account to iCloud before last June, and haven't ever synced your devices to your computer then your data is gone. It can't be retrieved because it doesn't exist anywhere else, as you haven't followed Apple's directions for backing up and syncing.

that is the standard way jaxb generates the model classes. i believe there is some sort of experimental "use simple mappings" switch (probably a vendor extension) which makes the xml files cleaner (similar to your desired implementation), but i don't have much experience with it.

Sorry, but your post is unclear. I don't know what you mean by "back to normal iOS". Do you mean that you jailbroke your iPhone? If that's what you mean and you now wish to remove the jailbreak, you can try putting the iPhone into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:

Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPhone. I am not sure about the version. But you can follow the steps below.
1. Create a Web Dynpro Poroject (Ideally create a DC , but if you don't have NWDI setup a project will do).
2. Add reference to com.sap.security.api.jar and sap.comcafeugpapi.jar
3. Under WebDynpro References -> Library References add sap.com/cafeugp~api
4. Put following code in wdDoInit()

I am new to Finance and here has one question need your help:
We need to get Function Area in one of our report. Is function area master data or transaction data? Which table stores this field? To get this field, which fields should be the primary keys while reading in the table (like cost center or some other fields)?

Need you help !!! -- Convertion from Char to Date

Dear experts:
I am new to abap and here is one thing need your help:
Currently I have a char type field defined in the source table, after I retrive this field into my work area, I need to convert it to Date type and then calculate the last day of this date.
for example: WA_TEST-CHAR = '20100801'. This value in orignal ECC table is char type.
Then How can I convert this value to a date type, and calculate its last day?
My expected result is "20100731".
BTW, does anybody know how to convert a date type field to a number type field like To_number() or something?. If I need to get the period between 2 different date, how can I get this?

Hi guyz,
I have created table with 4 fields
1.client
2.language
3.name
4.text
now I want f4 button next to all the fields , if I click on client all client numbers should display and if I click language all possible languages should display , same for all other fields.
I have done using search help but that bringing all the entries in table.
Plz advise.

If you use a standard data element for the table field a search help will automatiocally be assigned to it, to check whether a search help is already assigned to a element you can click on the Entry help/check tab of the table. if you find this statement - Input help implemented with check table, there it means it already has a search help.
If you creating data elements of your own then you need to create a search help in SE11and assign it manually to the field which you want to have an F4 help.

Help with multi-table mapping for one-to-many object inheritance

Hi,
I have posted on here before regarding this (Toplink mapping for one-to-many object inheritance but I am still having problems mapping my object model to my schema.
Object model
The Person and Organisation objects contain base information and have the primary keys person_id and organisation_id. It is important that there is no duplication of person and organisation records, no matter how many times they are saved in different roles.
There are two types of licenceholder in the problem domain, and the ILicenceHolder interface defines information and methods that are common to both. The PersonalLicenceHolder object represents one of these types of licenceholder, and is always a person, so this class extends Person and implements ILicenceHolder.
The additional information and methods that are required by the second type of licenceholder are defined in the interface IPremisesLicenceHolder, which extends ILicenceHolder. Premises licence holders can either be people or organisations, so I have two objects to represent these - PremisesLicenceHolderPerson which implements IPremisesLicenceHolder and extends Person, and PremisesLicenceHolderOrganisation which implements IPremisesLicenceHolder and extends Organisation.
The model is further complicated by the fact that any single Person may be both a PersonalLicenceHolder and a PremisesLicenceHolderPerson, and may be so several times over. In this case, the same basic Person information needs to be linked to several different sets of licenceholder information. In the same way, any single Organisation may be a PremisesLicenceHolderOrganisation several times over.

Schema
I have Person and Organisation tables containing the basic information with the primary keys person_id and organisation_id.
I have tried to follow Donald Smith's advice and have created a Role table to record the specialised information for the different types of licence holder. I want the foreign keys in this table to be licenceholder_id and licence_id. Licenceholder_id will reference either organisation_id or person_id, and licence_id will reference the primary key of the Licence table to link the licenceholder to the licence. Because I am struggling with the mapping, I have changed licenceholder_id to person_id in an attempt to get it working with the Person object before I try the Organisation.
Then, when a new licenceholder is added, if the person/organisation is already in the database, a new record is created in the Role table linking the existing person/organisation to the existing licence rather than duplicating the person/organisation information.
Mapping
I am trying to use the toplink mapping workbench to map my PremisesLicenceHolderPerson object to my schema. I have mapped all inherited attributes to superclass (Person). The primary table that the attributes are mapped to is Person, and I have used the multi-table info tab to add Roles as an additional table and map the remaining attributes to that.
I have created the references PERSON_ROLES which maps person.person_id to roles.person_id, ROLES_PERSON which maps roles.person_id to person.person_id and ROLES_LICENCE which maps roles.licence_id to licence.licence_id.
I think I have put in all the relationships, but I cannot get rid of the error message "The following primary key fields are unmapped: PERSON_ID".
Please can somebody tell me how to map this properly?

I'm not positive about your mappings, but it looks like the Person object should really have a 1:M or M:M mapping to the Licenceholder table. This then means that your object model should be similar, in that Person object could have many Licenses, instead of being LicenceHolders. From the looks of it, you have it set up from the LicenceHolder perspective. What could be done instead if a LicenceHolder could have a 1:1 reference to a person data object, rather than actually be a Person. This would allow the person data to be easily shared among licences.
LicenceHolder1 has an entry in the LicenceHolder table and Person table. LicenceHolder2 also has entries in these tables, but uses the same entry in the Person table- essentially it is the same person/person_ID. If both are new objects, TopLink would try to insert the same person object into the Person table twice. I'm not sure how you have gotten around or are planning to get around this problem.
Since you are using inheritance, it means that LicenceHolder needs a writable mapping to the person.person_id field- most commonly done through a direct to field mapping. From the description, it looks like roles.person_id is a foreign key in the multiple table mapping, meaning it would be set based on the value in the person.person_id field, but the person.person_id isn't actually mapped in the object. Check to make sure that the ID attribute LicenceHolder is inheriting from person hasn't been remapped in the LicenceHolder descriptor to a different field.
