  • Need your opinion about Satellite A110-153

    Hi,
I??m new here and I??m looking for a notebook. The A110-153 sounds interesting for me.
Could anyone give me more information like reviews what are the + and - of the product?
Also I saw on a website that has this notebook has 2 hard discs. Is this true? I can't find it anywhere (toshiba.com). Also I find this odd, I never heard that a notebook has 2 hard drives or disks.
It??s a pity that this notebook has an integrated video card I think.
What I want to do with the notebook is the following:
    - Internet
    - Ms office
    - working with pictures (I have a digital photo camera and soon a digital video camera)
    - A little Photoshop
    What??s your advice?

    Hi
I have found some pictures of the Satellite A110-153 and in my opinion the notebook looks very nice
The notebook supports Intel Core Duo (Yonah) processor T2050 1.6GHz and you can upgrade the memory up to 4GB
I dont know where you found the information about 2 HDD but as far as I know there is only one 100GB HDD installed.
But I found one disadvantage. The notebook support s only a Intel 945GM 8-128 MB shared memory graphic card.
But dont worry, Its strong enough for working with picture and MS office applications.

  • Need an opinion about FieldPoint RT Communication

The system I am controlling with compact Field Point consists of the chamber (initially filled with air), turbo pump (below), valve on the right of turbo pump, scroll pump below.
    The I/O boards installed in FP are : DO-403, RLY-421, DI-301, DI-330.
    I use:
    - DO-403 to close and open the valve
    - RLY-421 to start/stop turbo pump
    - DI-301 to read the signal from multi-gauge (high/low) for 3 set points
    - DI-330 to read signal from turbo pump (high/low) that tells me if the pump is in starting/normal operation
The process starts by turning the Scroll pump On and when the pressure in the pipe between turbo pump and scroll pump drops below setpoint 1 the Chamber2.vi will open the valve. The scroll contin
ues to pump the air out and when the pressure drops below set point 2 I start the turbo pump. Now both pumps are pumping the air out together and the pressure will start to decrease rapidly.
The Chamber2.vi is to automize the process of pumping the air put for this system.
I used RT Comm. Wizard and it built three VIs for me.
You can choose to do the same I believe and see what they look like.
I have few things to clear out:
-How does the VI look like from the Real Time point of view? Are there any bigger problems in a way I built it?
-My goal is to build stand-alone application that will be downloaded to FieldPoint. What would be the next step for me to do after I have made a NP VI, TC VI and Host VI? DO I download only Normal Prior. VI to the FP?
-One problem I had with RT Comm. Wizard is that the indicators: valve, pipe and scroll pump are not shown in the list of controls/indicators that you can select to be replaced with RT FIFO. Why is that?
    Any suggestions, inputs
, critics will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pedja
one more thing...I have tried to build library with main VI and all subVIs together so that I can attach and post one single file only but I had some problems.
Can you instruct me on how to do this?

  • Everything you need to know about Foxtel Go

Foxtel on T-Box customers can self register Foxtel Go on 2 devices per Foxtel on T-Box subscription. You are able to view content on 1 of the 2 registered devices. The T-Box device will automatically be registered on your behalf and cannot be deregistered. You can change the device they have registered once per calendar month.
To change a registered device you must log into the Foxtel Go app. As a Foxtel from Telstra customer please use your Foxtel My account details. As a Foxtel on T-Box customer please log in with your primary (i.e. the first username created and linked to your account) BigPond username and password.
Once in the app go to the settings icon and choose 'manage my devices'. Within this section of the app you will be able to select de-register for the device you wish to change. To register, download the Foxtel Go app and log in. You will be prompted to register the device.
Remember you can only change one device once per calendar month. If you are still able to make a change, you will be advised of the number of device registrations left this month.
If you recently registered your T-Box, you should have access to Foxtel Go within 1 hour. If you are experiencing errors please try closing the Foxtel Go App and logging in again. If you are still unable to access any content please contact us via Telstra 24x7 or Telstra Technical Support on 13 22 00
If you swap your Foxtel on T-Box service to a new device, your Foxtel Go service is not affected as it is associated to your BigPond username and password, and not the T-Box device.
When trying to make a second device change within a month the de-register' button will be greyed out, preventing the change.
Current channel rights only allow Foxtel Go to be registered on 3 devices per Foxtel Account. For Foxtel on T-Box customers, the T-Box counts as your 3rd device.
The parental control function is specific to Foxtel Go and managed in the app via the settings icon. To access parental control:
Go to the settings' icon in the app (top right)
    Access parental controls'
Choose which classifications you'd like to restrict
All R-rated content is automatically blocked, but you can personalise your restrictions for other ratings. To do this go to Settings in the Foxtel Go app, turn on Parental Controls and restrict the classifications you would like to block. If this is the first time you do this you'll be prompted to set a 4 digit PIN specifically for Foxtel Go. You can use this PIN to change your parental controls in the future. This PIN is only applicable to the Foxtel Go app. For Foxtel from Telstra customers, the PIN is not the same as you use on your IQ or Set Top Box, and you will be required to setup a new PIN to restrict content on Foxtel Go. For Foxtel on T-Box customers, the PIN is not the same as you use on your T-Box, and you will be required to setup a new PIN to restrict content on Foxtel Go.
Foxtel Go content is unmetered with Telstra BigPond Home Broadband services. With other internet service providers this will be offset against your data plan.
If you use Foxtel Go on your device with any 3G/4G telecommunications service provider, including Telstra, usage isn't unmetered and you will incur data charges when using Foxtel Go. The below list provides an indicationof the data you will use per device on the various app settings, based on watching an hour of TV. To view your settings go to the 'settings' icon in the Foxtel Go App, turn on 'video settings' and choose your preferred quality:
3G Phone/Tablet Best: 320 MB per hour / Low: 170 MB per hour
Wi-Fi Phone Best: 420 MB per hour / Low: 320 MB per hour
Wi-Fi Tablet Best: 720 MB per hour / Low: 320 MB per hour
Wi-Fi PC/Mac Best: 1310 MB per hour / Low: 470 MB per hour
The size of each episode or Movie on Catch up TV can be found on the Synopsis tab.
You can use Foxtel Go at a Wi-Fi location or a personal hotspot when you are in Australia provided you have an internet connection. Some locations offer Wi-Fi hotspots where you can log onto the internet for free. e.g. McDonalds, Starbucks, etc. Any data charges incurred are charged to the business and not to you. When connected to Wi-Fi, you'll see a Wi-Fi symbol on your device.
Foxtel from Telstra customers with a Foxtel iQ or iQHD set top box can Remote Record and send a channel change to their set top box. Unfortunately this functionality is not available to Foxtel on T-Box customers.
You can pause and rewind the last 30 minutes of Live TV, even if you've just changed to that channel. Due to device restrictions users of Samsung Android devices are unable to use this feature.
Foxtel Go is a streaming video service. Streaming means that images and sound are delivered live to your device to view when you press Play, rather than being downloaded to your device to view at a later time.
Games you'd normally see on Foxtel from Telstra or Foxtel on T-Box on FOX SPORTS 3 are broadcast on Foxtel Go on the Footy Play Plus channel
There are no Catch Up of AFL games or magazine shows on Foxtel Go due to content restrictions.
The key symbol indicates that a channel isn't part of your package. You need to upgrade your Foxtel from Telstra or Foxtel on T-Box package to watch it. Your package can not be updated through the Foxtel Go app. For Foxtel on T-Box customers you can update your packages in the T-Box App, at www.telstra.com/tboxsetup, via 13 2200 or in store. For Foxtel from Telstra customers you can update your packages through the store or via 13 1999. The lock symbol indicates that, as part of your parental control setting, you've locked this classification of content, and can't watch it. If you want to change the settings then the primary (i.e. the first username created and linked to your account) account holder can change these by:
Go to the settings' icon in the app (top right)
    Access parental controls'
Choose which classifications you'd like to restrict
No other username or password can change the parental control settings.
We may be required to block out specific programming from time to time, e.g. if a channel doesn't have the legal right to broadcast the programme over the internet. However, all live channels are the same as channels you watch through Foxtel from Telstra or Foxtel on T-Box.
The vast majority of the Foxtel on T-Box content is available via Foxtel Go. There are some minor exceptions. MTV Music and MTV Dance channels are not available. FOOTY PLAY and FOOTY PLAY+ (overflow) channels are not available on PC and Mac only.
Access to Foxtel Go is included in your Foxtel on T-Box and Foxtel from Telstra subscription. However, you will incur data charges when accessing the service on a 3G/4G network.

Why do you need to go about linking to services-config.xml in
your flex compiler when you want to do remoting. It just seems like
a complicated way to do things.

Yeah I find this perplexing as well. I'm guessing it has something to do with Opalis origins perhaps.
Would be good to understand why.

In Yandex browser. I decided to tell you, because the site is not displayed correctly. As in the screenshot.

apart from the fact there's no way I could have answered your question confidently, I was also not able to supply my non-answer within your very tight time constraints.

The iPad charger is dual voltage. You need only a plug adapter to be able to plug your US charger into a European wall outlet. A basic one costs about $2.00. - $6.00. Like this...

I would check the navigation -- when you click e. g. German version there is no link back to the English version. If you try the Czech version and then click the English version link you will not get back to the .com domain but to the .ch domain.

  • How did you feel about your first mac?

As an early christmas present I received a 13 inch macbook air, 2GB RAM and 1.86GHz dual core cpu.
I am mostly used to PC laptops running linux or often I put solaris on them. I study Computer Science and have Asperger's Syndrome.
I got my mac as windows had too much bloatware and Linux was too unstable on my 64-bit hardware (needed 6 GiB RAM for large compilations). I was going to use the macbook air to take notes and some minor work between classes such as writing assembly subroutines, C and java. The primary use of this system was going to be as a personal assistant to have my calendar and files etc.
The system is so powerful with a full 12 hours battery life when working on the localhost that it can out-do a 2.4GHz dual core with 6 GiB RAM PC running any OS. This system is now used for all my work due to it's capabilities and portability. After only one week with a mac I dont know how I lived without one, and my carer says it has made me show immense improvements day-to-day. I am now tempted to learn Objective-C as well as how to use Cocoa from Python to be more efficient, especially after seeing the perfection in this system.
How did you feel when you got your first mac?

A related question might be, what did you think about the introduction of the IBM PC?
I had been designing digital systems and working with computers for a few years before the PC's introduction in 1981. The mainstay systems were 8 bit Z80 or 8085 machines running at 4 or 6 MHz. They ran CP/M with its command line interface. Although the maximum memory these systems could use was 64 MB, being a single user, single-task operating sytem, even the most resource-hungry programs (word processors for instance) ran very fast. CP/M itself needed only a few K.
Dual floppy disk systems were common, 180 KB per disk unless you had double sided floppies - 360 K. The A drive booted the operating system, after which you could insert a program disk. The B drive held your data. I had one machine with a whopping 5 MB hard disk - the C drive. I treated it with special reverence.
When rumors began about IBM producing its version of a desktop PC, many people including myself had grand expectations. Clearly Big Blue would emerge as the leader in desktop computers, since they had the resources to dictate what the standard would be. Everyone knew the others would be left in the dust. What kind of processor would it use? How much memory? Would it have a slimmed down version of the multiuser, multitasking operating system used in its System/34 minicomputer? Or would it resemble something that DEC used in its PDP-11?
Well, when the IBM PC came out in 1981, needless to say it was an enormous disappointment. It wasn't much better than anything else I had already been using for three or four years already, except the PC was much, much more expensive. No hard disk unless you wanted to buy an upgraded power supply (more $$$) and then all they offered was 10 MB. Forget about multiple users or multitasking. It didn't even have the equivalent of CP/M's PIP. The whole thing seemed... intentionally crippled. This was supposed to be the future of computing? In my opinion it was a major step backward. The XT that followed it offered only minimal improvements. I rejected the IBM PC as not cost effective and kept using my CP/M dinosaurs.
So, when Apple introduced the Macintosh a couple years later I finally saw, in the flesh, what I thought a computer ought to be. A totally bit mapped display, a robust 16/32 bit processor, real sound capability (everything before it could only "beep") and a true graphical UI. You could name a file anything you want, no 8x3 idiocy. +To this day+ Windows carries remnants of 8x3 filenames!
The Macintosh blew away the PC, if not in performance, in its potential. Unlike the "crippled" PC the Mac seemed limitless. This was cool. The Mac wasn't without limitations though - there was no good way to install a hard disk for instance - but for some reason I considered those limitations trivial and believed they would be overcome in the near future. I waited for the first "upgrade" - the "Fat Mac" with a whopping 512K memory. Half a megabyte!
I used that computer for several years, until the SE/30 came out, which I kept in service for about ten years. I ultimately expanded its memory to 32 MB while PC users were struggling with extended memory or expanded memory - you had to know which was which - to get beyond the PC's stupid 640K barrier. My 30 MB HD eventually grew small, but that was easily remedied with an external SCSI drive. Although the computer did everything I ever expected it to do, the Internet eventually made it functionally obsolete. It could run a browser (forget which one) but the black and white limitation made it marginally useful.
I eventually replaced it with an iMac, which echoed the original Mac's introduction with its forward-thinking design. The iMac opened up a new world in much the same way the original Macintosh did in 1984.
    All my Macs still work.
    yoshitaka wrote:

That pretty much sums it up.
In retrospect, I believe that IBM and its marriage of convenience with Microsoft delayed the evolution of desktop computing a decade or more. I cringe whenever I think of the aggregate productivity loss and utter frustration shared by millions of PC / Windows devotees all these years.

  • Opinion  on my website

    Hello,
I just finished my eCommerce hosting website....can you
please give me your opinion on the website...because I'm thinking

if there are any changes that need to be done(please be honest)

Overall the design is clean and effective. I would put down
how many databases you are offering though on the web hosting page.
Only thing I can't believe is that you are still offering PHP4 and
not 5 (being that all support for PHP4 is discontinued). Also you
have a link to a CPanel demo login, but no login
    information.

The decision of whether to use CLDC or CDC is made for you by the device you are programming for. If you want to write an application for a particular smartphone then you have to find out what configuration it is running and as far as I know all smartphones (no matter how powerful) will be running CLDC. The CDC is aimed at things like set-top boxes for televisions and other such devices that run from mains power for example.
Within CLDC there are 2 versions, 1.0 and 1.1 and again the choice of which one to use comes from the device you are aiming for. The same for MIDP, which has version 1.0 and 2.0. As an example I am developing an application for a Nokia N95 and I know from the phone documentation that it is running CLDC 1.1 and MIDP 2.0.
I've never looked at CDC to be able to tell you the differences but if you are starting development of a mobile phone application then you will want to look at CLDC/MIDP and you should never have to worry about getting it to work on a CDC emulator because you will never need to do that.

  • What do I need to know about transfering a 4th gen touch to a new 5th gen touch?

My daughter will be getting a new 5th generation touch today. She has a 4th generation touch now. What do I need to know about transfering informaiton from one device to the other?

    See:
iOS: Transferring information from your current iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device
Unless you restore from an encrypted backup, y will have to reenter all password on the new device
    iTunes and encrypted backups
You can protect your backup with a passcode using the Encrypt Backup option in the Summary tab. Encrypting your backup will back up your Keychain. This way, your email account passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and passwords that you enter into websites and some apps will be remembered when you transfer to a new device. Learn how to create and restore from a backup.
When your backup is encrypted, you'll need to enter the password when enabling or disabling encryption or when restoring from the backup.

  • Hello i need a help about script to export translatable text strings from ai files and import them back

Hello i need a help about script to export translatable text strings from ai files and import them back after editing, thanks in advance

    Lanny -
Thank you for taking the time to help with this problem. Can I just say however that as someone who has posted a first comment here and quite clearly never used a forum like this before, your comment unfortunately comes across as very excluding. It makes me feel there are a set of unwritten rules that I should know, and that I don't know them shows that the forum is not for me. In short, it's exactly the kind of response that stops people like me using forums like this.
I'm sure it's not intended to be received like this and I am sure that the way you have responded is quite normal in the rules of a forum like this. However, it is not normal for those of us who aren't familiar with forums and who only encounter them when they have a genuine problem. This is why I hope it is helpful to respond in full.
The reason I posted here is as follows. I was directed here by the apple support website. The original comment seemed to be the only one I could find which referred to my issue. As there is no obvious guidance on how to post on a forum like this it seemed perfectly reasonable to try and join in a conversation which might solve more than one problem at once.
Bee's reply however is both helpful and warm. This could in fact be a template for how new members should be welcomed and inducted into the rules of the forum in a friendly and inclusive way. Thank you very much indeed Bee!

  • What do you know about GUS II compatibility?

Eager to have an external GPU that works with my MacBook Air. I've read that MSI is developing the GUS II. It hasn't been released obviously, but I want to know your opinion about Apple supporting it; its benefits and limitations.
    Thank you.

It's impossible to discuss the product intelligently since it's not shipping yet and MSI hasn't said anything further that I can find since the annoucement of the product at the CES in January. I don't believe they've even officially said that it will work with Mac OS X; they showed it only with Windows. We'll need to wait until it's available before anyone can offer more than guesswork based on what MSI has released in the way of information.
Apple won't themselves support it at all, any more than they provide official support for any third-party product.
    Regards.
