Need your opinion on usability of ms word .rft to make a business document

Im new to xml & bi publisher. Below is a xml data set Im using (shown as 1 record) Im testing with about 20
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
- <CUSTLBL>
- <LIST_G_CUSTOMER>
- <G_CUSTOMER>
<ACCOUNT_NUMBER>012345</ACCOUNT_NUMBER>

<ADDRESS2>APT 4B</ADDRESS2>
<CITY_STATE_ZIP>BROOKLYN, NY 11222</CITY_STATE_ZIP>
</G_CUSTOMER>
</LIST_G_CUSTOMER>
</CUSTLBL>
I created an .rft with a header that has "Order Acknowledgment" in it
I inserted a table
I moved the table to the position I wanted on the right side of the page
so what I have left is a saved .rtf like below:
<word header displaying Order Acknowledgment>
for-each G_CUSTOMER
<2x7 table>
page breakend G_CUSTOMER
I preview as pdf or rtf and the 2X7 table shifts to the left margin for every customer
do I have to battle with ms word settings just to get this to position the way I want?
is there no wysiwyg template maker?
thanks in advance for any advice you can give

Not sure what issue you're hitting but try this:
Make the table span across the whole page - add an empty table cell on the left of your existing cell. You'll get better control of positioning then.
Make sure you don't have any spaces anywhere.
Also, perhaps you're hitting something like this:

  • Buying a Macbook pro for the first time and i need your opinion

Hello everyone! I'm buying a Macbook pro for the first time and i need your opinion. I'm a Web Developer / Graphic Designer, and i need this macbook for my work. Currently i have these 2 options:
    1) Macbook Pro with Retina (13")

    2) Macbook Pro i7 (15")
    Intel  i7 2.6 Processor, 8GB Ram, 750GB HD
So my dilema is. Do i go for the newest 13" Macbook Pro Retina & SSD drive or do i go for the 15" Macbook Pro i7 non-Retina, non-SSD hard drive?

    Your 2nd choice
    2) Macbook Pro i7 (15")
    Intel  i7 2.6 Processor, 8GB Ram, 750GB HD
is user upgradable. The Retina is not.
No matter what for your needs I would max out the 16GB of RAM

  • VLAN SETUP - NEEDS YOUR OPINION

    HI,
We just purchased 3 Cisco SG200 50 Port Switch. Please bear with me because I am only
new to Cisco switch and no nothing about IOS only rely on GUI. I also have a query on VLANS
settings. I am new to VLANS though I have read information about it and now I am applying it into production.
    My first query is:
Is the Cisco SG200 50 Ports Switch is a Layer 2 or Layer 3 switch? if Yes how to convert it.
I want to separate all the servers, printers and  users into different vlans and switches.
I am not sure as well if this is a good setup.
    Switch 1 - VLAN 10 = All the Servers  (6 Servers)
         E/01 DC
         E/02 DC
         E/03 FILE STAFF
         E/04 FILE STUDENTS
         E/05 WEB
         E/06 BACKUP
    Switch 1 - VLAN 20 = All the Printers  (3 Printers)
    Switch 1 - VLAN 30 = Wireless Access Points (5 WAP)
Switch 1 - VLAN 40 = All IP Phones (VOICE) (12 IP Phones)
    Switch 2 - VLAN 50 = Staff PC   (40 Machines)
    Switch 3 - VLAN 60 = Student LAB 1  (25 Machines)
    Switch 3 - VLAN 70 = Student LAB 2  (25 Machines)
    A. Let say how can VLAN 50 (staff) access VLAN 10 (servers) without using a Router
and I am only using the said model above? Is this possible?
    B. How can I connect VLAN 60 (Student Lab 1) to access on 1 server on VLAN 10 on this port E/04?
    C. Also connecting VLAN 50 (Staff PC) to access the Printer on VLAN 20 in switch 1?
    D. Do different VLANS mentioned above needs to be in separate subnets or one will work?
Sorry and be patient about me I am just a newbie in Cisco and VLAN.
Any suggestion will highly be appreciated.
    Many Thanks.

    Hi Arth020271,
Keeping in mind you have a SG200 smart switch that is supported by the wonderful  poeple at  Small Business Support Center.
There are lots of router choices that support trunked VLANsyou have a few choices.
I persoanally like the SA500 series that supports routing between  16 VLANs, specifically the SA540 due to it's large number of  SSL VPN capacity.
    Datasheet on this product follows;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9932/prod_models_comparison.html
The benefit of this router is that it is also supported by the Small Business Support Center which makes support for the overall solution much much easier.
If you wish to see the easy GUI of these product, there is also a emulator or simulator for the SA500 product at the URL  below.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/small-business/onlinedemos?view=overview%20target=
Remember, these Small Business routers as used for small business, so really,  if you have more than 100 IP hosts using the LAN, you might be better off looking at a IOS/CLI solution from a Cisco Partner.  These IOS routers can be members of the  integrated servicers routers (ISR) models 2900 or 1900.  These ISR are better for larger routed networks such as yours.
Since you have over 110 users on your network including voice users, maybe you can have a word to your local Cisco partner and then decide regarding which router best suits your needs.
    Regards Dave

  • Photog upgrading needs your opinion!

    Hello Everyone-Who-Knows-More-Than-Me,
Since I'm sitting at home and thinking about it, I thought I'd throw out a few questions about this brand new iMac 3.06 and see if the answers come back to me. I haven't bought it yet, but I'm ready to upgrade to the new iMac from a G4. I'm a semi-pro photographer, and will be using it extensively for imaging. All your replies will be greatly appreciated!
    1) Is the new 24" iMac screen "callibtratable"? More specifically, by a Monaco Optix XR? That's what I have and don't want to buy yet another piece of hardware if possible. And if it's not callibtratable, just what do you photographers do to ensure your colors?
    2) The video card issue is beyond my knowledge (thinkin' about the 8800GS/512). I don't intend to play a lot of games, so is that extra video card power I'm not considering worth it to someone who'll primarily be using Aperture, iWeb, and Photoshop CS 2?
    3) If you have any hints/tips/suggestions/things you've found that worked really well for you, and have the time to write a few lines, let's hear it.
    Thanks!

    1)
Well first off for number 1, I do not have an issue with screen problems, the real estate of the size of 24" makes a huge difference in editing photos in Photoshop and Aperture. The speed of the machine makes working in these two programs a cinch.
I haven't used the Monaco Optix XR for calibration, but with the bright screen reflection it could prove problematic. I use the simple calibration in the settings and use the profile on the imac's natural gamma.
    2)
I don't intend to play a lot of games, so is that extra video card power I'm not considering worth it to someone who'll primarily be using Aperture, iWeb, and Photoshop CS 2
I don't think the extra power is needed for these applications, I use all three and they work swiftly.
    3)
From a g5 machine to the 24" iMac 2.8 Ghz has made a huge difference in speed and larger screen for me as a professional photographer and videographer. Even Apples' studio pro 2 has worked well except for color, I find color slow and not workable on my present system, but all the other programs work well.

  • Going to Apple Store for Replacement tomorrow Need Your Opinion!!

I been having issues with push notifications from the very beginning when i purchased this phone. i use twitter often and this NEVER happened on my other iphones so I'm getting replacements. Is there any way I can test it out if it works or not at the apple store or do i need to get my phone activated again? also would they take out the sim card for me since i dont know how and put it back inside the new phone or do they only remove it and do i need to have it get it popped back the sim card at the verizon place?? it would be very nice if i can test this out cus im tired of keep getting buggy iphones.

Make sure your iPod is backed up (connect it to your computer and sync it if you can), then take just the iPod Touch to the Apple Store. Bring money or a credit card.

  • Need your opinion about Satellite A110-153

    Hi,
I??m new here and I??m looking for a notebook. The A110-153 sounds interesting for me.
Could anyone give me more information like reviews what are the + and - of the product?
Also I saw on a website that has this notebook has 2 hard discs. Is this true? I can't find it anywhere (toshiba.com). Also I find this odd, I never heard that a notebook has 2 hard drives or disks.
It??s a pity that this notebook has an integrated video card I think.
What I want to do with the notebook is the following:
    - Internet
    - Ms office
    - working with pictures (I have a digital photo camera and soon a digital video camera)
    - A little Photoshop
    What??s your advice?

    Hi
I have found some pictures of the Satellite A110-153 and in my opinion the notebook looks very nice
The notebook supports Intel Core Duo (Yonah) processor T2050 1.6GHz and you can upgrade the memory up to 4GB
I dont know where you found the information about 2 HDD but as far as I know there is only one 100GB HDD installed.
But I found one disadvantage. The notebook support s only a Intel 945GM 8-128 MB shared memory graphic card.
But dont worry, Its strong enough for working with picture and MS office applications.

I assume that "OLAP Catalog version" should have a version.
    true?
    -atm

The OLAP catalog version should be displayed as part of the output. From the diagnostic information it would appear that your OLAP catalog is not installed. Try running the following as SYS user on your instance
    column comp_name format a35
    SELECT comp_name
    , status
    , substr(version,1,10) AS version
    FROM dba_registry;
This will list out the installed options in your instance. You should get something like this:

  • I need your expert opinion on how to create a map with multiple conditions.

    Hello.
I need your expert opinion on how to create a map with multiple conditions.
I have a procedure (which i cannot import or re-create in OWB due to the bug), so i am trying to create a map instead :-(
How can i create a cursors within the map?
My function creates table and cursor.
Then it will have to check for duplicates in the tables (the one created and another table) - the criteria for finding duplicates is a number of fields.I then need to place few different conditions (if some attributes are not available) and it has to load cursor based on this conditions. The next step is to fetch the data into the cursor based on what attributes are missing.
The next thing it will do is insert the data into table (if record doesn't exist), output the error in separate table is record is corrupted, or update the record with changed information.
In short i need to re-create match / merge but with conditions, iterations etc 'built into' it.
I can read up on available functions - it's just what would be the best options? and what would be the best approach to do so?
In my function i use %rowtype - but cannot use it in owb - so what would be the alternative? i don't really want to create a lot of variables and then have a nightmare of maintaing it. are there any tips regarding this?
having looked through Oracle dedupe - it's not really what i need because it is just DISTINCT.
I would appreciate any help / advise on this.
    Thank you very much

thanks a lot for your reply - i will look into this option :-)
it is a bit more complicated now as i have to re-create the match / merge and then somehow 'tweak' it to achieve the result i need.
At the moment i am looking to breakdown the package into smaller chunks 'functions' and try creating the map that way.
Anyway, thank you very much for your suggestion.

  • Hey guys I was  wondering do I need an anti virus software on my mac? I don't think I need it but as a first time mac user I wanted your opinion.

Just wanted to get your opinion.

This comment applies to malicious software ("malware") that's installed unwittingly by the victim of a network attack. It does not apply to software, such as keystroke loggers, that may be installed deliberately by an attacker who has hands-on access to the victim's computer. That threat is in a different category, and there's no easy way to defend against it. If you have reason to suspect that you're the target of such an attack, you need expert help.
All versions of OS X since 10.6.7 have been able to detect known Mac malware in downloaded files. The recognition database is automatically updated once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders. In most cases, there’s no benefit from any other automated protection against malware.
Starting with OS X 10.7.5, there is another layer of built-in malware protection, designated "Gatekeeper" by Apple. By default, applications that are downloaded from the network will only run if they're digitally signed by a developer with a certificate issued by Apple. Applications certified in this way haven't actually been tested by Apple (unless they come from the Mac App Store), but you can be sure that they haven't been modified by anyone other than the developer, and his identity is known, so he could be held responsible if he knowingly released malware. For most practical purposes, applications recognized by Gatekeeper as signed can be considered safe. Note, however, that there are some caveats concerning Gatekeeper:
It doesn't apply to software that comes packaged as an installer. Treat all third-party installers with caution.
It can be disabled or overridden by the user.
It can be bypassed by some third-party networking software, such as BitTorrent clients and Java applets (see below.)
It only applies to applications downloaded from the network. Software installed from a CD or other media is not checked.
For more information about Gatekeeper, see this Apple Support article.
Notwithstanding the above, the most effective defense against malware attacks is your own intelligence. All known malware on the Internet that affects a fully-updated installation of OS X 10.6 or later takes the form of so-called "trojan horses," which can only have an effect if the victim is duped into running them. If you're smarter than the malware attacker thinks you are, you won't be duped. That means, primarily, that you never install software from an untrustworthy source. How do you know a source is untrustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install a “codec,” “plug-in,” or “certificate” that comes from that same site, or an unknown one, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim. [Some reputable websites did legitimately warn users who were infected with the "DNSChanger" malware. That exception to this rule no longer applies.]
“Cracked” copies of commercial software downloaded from a bittorrent are likely to be infected.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. No intermediary is acceptable.
Java on the network (not to be confused with JavaScript, to which it's not related) is always a potential weak spot in the security of any operating system. If a Java web plugin is not installed, don't install it unless you really need it. If it is installed, you should disable it (not JavaScript) in your web browsers. Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This setting is mandatory in OS X 10.5.8 or earlier, because Java in those obsolete versions has known security flaws that make it unsafe to use on the Internet. The flaws will never be fixed. Regardless of version, experience has shown that Java can never be fully trusted, even if no vulnerabilities are publicly known at the moment.
Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can reasonably be.
Never install any commercial "anti-virus" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use the free software ClamXav — nothing else.

  • I need your help and opinion on JNI

I am assigned a task to build one Java API above one existing protocol stack written in legacy C++, which involves UDP and TCP communication.
The C++ code involves callback method.
    My qustion is:
    1. I only tried some simple examples on one way trasfering, for example, invoke c++ from Java (HelloWorld example), and either invoke Java from C++. Is it possible to do it all together? I mean invoke C++ from Java and invoke Java from C++ for the callback methods at the same time?
    2. Is it possible to do this with JNI? I doubt because it involves callback method in C++ code, so in Java, a interface should be created with the callback method declared inside it.
    I really need your help!

    1. Yes it is possible to call out of java into C, and back into java from C. And the tool of choice is JNI.
    2. You better buy a JNI book.
    3. As you get into it, you will probably find that designing around threading issues become important. Scan this forum.

  • N73ME Update: Your Opinion Needed

The current firmware version on my mobile is 4.0727.2.2.1
Each time a new firmware was released i really didn't want to upgrade to it bec of the bugs i heard it contained.
And now, with the release of this new firmware 4.0812.4.2.1, i really would appreciate your opinion, is it worth that i upgrade to this fw, or should i stick to mine (knowing that i have no complains about my fw).
    Thanks alot in advance

if u dont have anyting to complain about ur current firmware den i would recommend u not to upgrade ur n73 firmware. Nokia have trully destroyed the N73 with these firmware updates for example musci player crashes, camera blue noise. etc

  • Logic Pro X - The "Force Apple Lion 10.7 support" question - your opinion

    Hi.
Now, that Apple has released Logic Pro X, we Pros have to learn that the minimum system requirement is set to OS X 10.8.4. In my book this is an asolute no go, with no reason other to impose Apples App-store power onto users to buy new hardware. So the questions for me are:
    1. Why is the minimum requirement not 10.7 ? There are a lot of MacPros and other out there capable of only 10.7, yet still capable machines for production (remember, Final Cut Pro X runs fine on the first gen MacPros…)
    2. I do not swallow it that the arguemnt might be that feature xyz didn't work out in 10.7. Let's make it clear, Logic Pro X should have been Logic 9 really, but Apple did not do their homework. Just like Avid released Protools 11, which should have been Protools 9 already. At least, Protools 11 runs fine on first Gen MacPros with 10.7.
    3. I believe - yet can't proove - that the installer just looks for the installed system. Yet the core code might run just fine. Why is there no Trial download as with FCPX ?
What is your opinion ? Is it worth the effort to generate pressure to reduce minimum system requirement to 10.7 ?
    PS.: Stay calm and relaxed
    Regards

I'm on an original Mac Pro with an HD 5770 and 12 GB of RAM, and 4 x 1TB drives running FCPX with zero problems.
    I also own a MacBook Pro i7 running 10.8.4
After using Logic since the eMagic days I will now have to investigate shifting to another DAW simply in order to be able to run the same software on my tower (studio machine) and laptop (live recording). There's thankfully no great rush as Logic 9 is no less capable today than it was yesterday, but I think today is a very sad day even so.
    Things I believe:
Apple could, had they chosen, have released a Lion compatable version of Logic Pro X. If they can do it for FCPX, they can do it for Logic Pro X
Apple could, had they chosen, have released a version of Mountain Lion compatible with EFI 32 based Mac Pro's - if hackers can do it then of course Apple could. Had they bothered to do this, then right now they'd have something to really boast about.
Apple have an ethical and environmental obligation to do what they can to support older machines, so long as doing so does not cripple current machines or future development. Doing so might take a bit of ingenuity and maybe even some style and panache. I thought that was what Apple was about - and I think it used to be, but clearly things have changed.
People are running Mountain Lion on machines like mine. Unsupported of course. But its still possible.
That Apple chose not to do these things shows quite clearly what they think of their professional customers - and by professional I do not mean "rich" - I mean people for whom a computer is a creative tool which needs to be stable, reliable and capable - and just work when you switch it on and get ready for a productive day.
I have to wonder how many other professional musicians (who let's face it really don't NEED screamingly fast machines - not compared to the video world anyways) are going to be feeling equally sad and let down over the next few days as word of this spreads.
    Just some thoughts

  • Letter/report generation...morgalr, i need your help!!

may i know the details or some sample source code of how to generate the html and import it to MS Word...i need your help urgently...may i have your email to contact u?.....please help, it is urgent!!!

You need not use an applet to write an HTML file, any application file will do fine, actually applications may be prefered due to system security and file creation. Basically the html files are just text files using HTML. Look at any book on HTML and you will be able to get the style and form down along with the syntax.
As for calling MS word, do a search on the web for a product called JPrint. It is done by a company called Neva and they also have a product called "coroutine". It is coroutine that you want. Coroutine is a native level interface for Java to Comm. The docs that come with coroutine should be saficient to get you going on the project.

  • Need the opinion of experts: N85 with Bluetooth pr...

Really need the opinion of experts on this one.
My N85 was swapped after the complaint that the Music Library Menu opened automatically after pairing with bluetooth of the car (permanent failure). Another complaint was that video recording was defective (intermittent failure). Also, Nokia detected great consumption of battery.
My question is: the swap came back the same relating to the bluetooth problem.. Is this a case of bad repair or a case of low knowledge...? I'm wondering if the Music Library Menu is to open when pairing with car bluetooth (strangely)....

The Dell Precision 380 has 3 PCIe slots: a x16 (for video cards), a x1,
and a x4.  I'm sure there are other PCs on the market with
    multiple PCIe slots.
Alternatively, the PCIe-8362 has TWO cabled PCI Express links.  So
you only need one slot in your host PC.  This may not be the best
solution, however, if bandwidth is your primary concern.  With one
8362 connected to two chassis, the total maximum throughput is 160
MB/s.  With two 8361s (each connected to a different chassis), the
total maximum throughput is 220 MB/s (110 MB/s on each).
Finally, keep in mind that the PXI chassis in your system are still
running at PCI speeds (132 MB/s).  Plus, this bandwidth is shared
across all devices in the system.  So the MXI Express connection
to the chassis may not be the bottleneck in the system.
    Good luck!
