Needed insight into transaction MASS

I needed to learn about the transaction MASS in detail. I have gone through the threads but they answer very specific questions and scenarios.

The name of this TCode itself is self explanatory.
When you want to update any data in bulk, you can do so via MASS. Fore more information, check this link

ABAP in transaction MASS

Hello Everyone,
There is a place in transaction MASS to add a custom formula that requires ABAP. So we need to look into how we could do this with a formula
(Edit -> Enter Formulas).
I don't know how this functionality works, can anyone help me with this?

Hi Oscar ,
You need to create optional date prompt variable in BW which fills your requirement .
Ex : If you require report should always run for 1st of the month to last of month .Then create Optional date variable in BW with interval .write customer exit ,
if from date is left blank it should take 1st of the month and if todate is left blank it should take last of the month .
when creating webi schedules , leave prompts as blank.

Attach Pdf output into transaction FB03

into transaction FB03 (SERVICE attachment list)

ZPO_PDF is the transaction code.
You can create this transaction code using transaction SE93 and assigning the program RSTXPDFT4 to it.

How can BI recognize business event into transactional environment?

Dear colleagues:
As I have been looking forward to figure out BW based BAM solutions, such as to implement BW to recognize business event into Transactional applications I just found the TechEd 2008 BPX Community winner proposal Operational BI-Embedded Business Activity Monitoring Drives Sales Growth and Empowers CRM Campaigns, by Anshuman Kumar (congratulations!)
However, it will take a long time to September and as I need very much to hurry up on architecting a BW based BAM solution I was wondering if someone else has implemented solution like that to exchange more detailed information, as Event Recognition, or even if Mr. Kumar could provide information regarding his presentation in advance.

Hi Kiran,
Depending on your SAP release, you may have a wizard to instantiate an object reference. This basically creates a standard task based on object method System.GenericInstantiate (or something similer - I currently do not have access to the system). You need the object key available in the WF container to do this. It could be tricky if the object key is multipart. Once an object reference is available in the WF container, you can wait for an event of that object.

I have tried to upload the data into transaction IA01 using direct input object 0470.
But one structure for Service Package Overview tab is missing.Can anyone suggest on how we proceed about it,like is there any BAPI to upload the data.Because there are almost 150 fields that need to be uploaded into the transaction which has different tabs in it so it would be very difficult to handle with BDC's.

Error in Transaction Mass

Hello, i'm trying to update req type in sales order item data in transaction MASS (field Bedae). Once I save the doc I get following error messages: sales document was not changed error in VBAPKOM 00010 Requirement type doesn't exist. Also, VBAKKOM has been processed successfully. Please advise Thank you

As per what I understand is there were subsequent documents (delivery) created for that particular sales order hence system was unable to update the requirement type in it.

How to write plan data into Transactional Cube from Visual Composer ?

Dear experts,
Visual Composer is very powerfull to build a 'nice-looking' web-report (I think is much better than Web Application Designer in term of freely position the chart/graph/table/selection parameter in anywhere we like. We can't have this flexibility in WAD) plus it also has strong integration to R/3 for posting the transactions via RFC-Enabled Function Module (such as changing customer credit limit, approve PO, approve Sales Order, etc), so that the R/3 user won't even have to know the TrxCode.
In addition to this, I just wondering if VC also capable to write plan data into transactional cube via Write-Enable Query. We can simply insert a BW Query into VC as planning layout (set the edit-mode to "editable") plus having some Wizards to make it more user-friendly and self-explanatory for the users.
But I am not sure how to save the changes back to transactional cube from VC.
Could anyone please kindly advise how to achieve this.
"Seeing is believing" is always my learning method, so I would appreciate some "actioanable" explanation or hints.

Hi Sen,
As far as I know, it's not possible to write data into transactional cubes directly from a table in Visual Composer through standar method, but it's possible to integrate a WAD with your input ready query into a URL element in VC (You can fill entry variables in VC and call WAD dinamically), so it's possible to create a planning application in VC calling dinamically WAD's.
Another way to interact through VC is creating button objects that calls planning sequences (with BAPI calling RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE). Also can fill variables in VC and pass them to sequence.

I think you can take the abap'ers help in creating the program. But u need to provide them the exact functionality and the required specifications in creating the appraisal document.
Even tcode also u can get it prepared by Abap'ers.

I have done appraisal document creation for bulk using txt file.
this fm used for single for creation in standard tcode (phap_prepare): 'WZ_HRHAP_0DOC_WZ01_START'.
So create ztcode usinh this fm for single form then record BDC for this tcode and called this tcode in that bdc for bulk creation .
While recording for single I have used manual option instead of automatic .

Just some info: Portal is basically what the end user can see. What he can do, is still maintain in the backend system. If there are parameters setup already for the user in the backend system (in SU01), then those parameters should still valid for the transaction that the parameters are linked to.

Transform sap query into transaction

my question is not related to mm but also not to other forums in this site.
i'm trying to transform sap query into transaction using se93 transaction.
i just learing sap in a class and we use an old version of sap.
user group name: ofer6
infoset name: ofer9
query name: ofer8
all created in global area
when i enter se93 i write t-code ZSTART and press "create".
then i choose: "transaction with parameters" in the popup window.
in the second screen i write the transaction ZSTART again.
i mark "skip initial screen" and "inherit gui attributes"
at the bottom of the page in "default values" i use the following:
D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT     OFER8
D_SREPOVARI-REPORT          OFER6 G
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE     AQ
when i press enter i get messages:
transaction ZSTART does not exist
Screen 0000 of program does not exist
The field D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE does not exist on the called screen
The field D_SREPOVARI-REPORT does not exist on the called screen

Reason for rejection not changed in transaction MASS

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to update a sales order item with a reason for rejection (field VBAP-ABGRU) in transaction MASS but it doesn't work. I took a look in SAP notes and found similar problems but these notes (specially note 390105) don't apply to our version (4.7 support package 22). Before opening a note in SAP I would like to have someone's opinion about the issue.

Paul, it doesn't work because the field is not updated despite success message issued when the transaction is finished (I tried to change the field content from blank to other value). The field is available in transaction MASS and I have successfully tested it in another system (release 6.00). But now I found a note (regarding to the same problem in another field - MASSSDPOSVBKD-KURRF) that can be helpful. It's note 777746 and it applies to our release. So, I'm waiting for the basis team to implement it to see what happens.
