Needed to download iTunes 6 + to purchase a certain song - since then...
Since downloading iTunes 6 + Quicktime- I am not able to hear anything on iTunes. Although my computer volume is turned completely up - I see the tool bar (diamond) moving, but nothing. Even the prompter when my computer is turned on - I can barely hear it. What happened and how do I fix it?

Go into your Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices and there is a section called Audio Output or something like that with a volume button. It will open a a mixer very similar to the default mixer in Windows and see if the main volume is at zero. Just turning it up could correct your problem.

10.5.8 is Leopard, not Snow Leopard. Leopard ran on both PPC and Intel Macs, but Snow Leopard runs only on Intel Macs. iTunes 11 will run on Snow Leopard, though I'm not sure whether iOS7 requires a higher system (Apple seem to specify only itunes 11 and not an OSX system so you may be OK). However if your Mac is a PPC you cannot proceed; if it's an Intel one you can purchase Snow Leopard in the Online Store (search for Snow Leopard to find it quickly) - it's not expensive. It's not possible to roll your phone back to iOS6.

after clicking "yes" to the question "do you want to update itunes now", i waited 2 hours and 15 minutes and it was still "loading". i turned computer off thinking something was wrong. now itunes won't open at all. do i need to download itunes again?
Did you actually download the installer from Apple or did you use Software Update. You can download the installer http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Maybe I'm old fashioned but I would consider repairing permissions first using Disk Utility because something caused this to go wrong the first time. And of course make a backup of your whole library first. It shouldn't happen but some have complained about their libraries being wiped out by iTunes updates. Better safe... -
How can I get my itunes onto my new laptop? Do I need to download itunes again or can I just copy it? My ipod classic has since been soaked in water and does not work so I cannot copy from there. Can anyone help?
