Needing help with Too Many Activations
I have an Aluratek LIBRE eReader and am trying to solve an ongoing problem. Last week I checked out a book from my local library and tried transferring it onto my reader. When I attempted the transfer, I received an error saying No Permission to Copy Document. After that, I opened Case #0181671508 to try and get the error fixed. There was an email sent back to me saying I needed to get in touch with Aluratek. So I called Aluratek and was told that I needed a Firmware update. I ended up getting that completed but still got the same error. After that, I uninstalled ADE and reset my reader in the hopes that starting from the beginning would help. After reinstalling ADE and hooking up my reader, I got a new error: E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS. Sent in an update to my case and was told again that I needed to get with Aluratek and update the Firmware. Please help me in figuring out what actually needs to be done so I can get to the point of transferring books onto my reader and actually being able to use it.
You need to ask Adobe to reset all your activations, then reactivate devices you still need.
Unfortuately, Adobe DRM does not have proper support site to allow you to view and change your device activations.

Okay... here's the story (I'll try and keep it short... but no promises).
In 2000 I opened account # 1 with Adobe.
In 2004 I must have forgotten about my previous account so I opened a second under a different email address.
I had purchased some ebooks last year, and again this year in March using ADE to read them. I believe it was under account # 2, but it could have been under # 1. The computer was already activated when I imported the latest book.
I had to reinstall Windows for the usual Windows issues. But when I tried reading my ebooks, I kept getting error messages that the book was activated under another user, or that I should redownload the book (which is not an option). Neither account is working with the ebooks. And of course I ran out of activations on both accounts.
Case # 0202264241: General request for help with a summary. Opened 07-14-2009. No response yet.
Case # 0181091688: A request to reset activations on account # 1. Opened 08-02-2009. Case withdrawn by Adobe Support on 08-05-2009.
Response: "I understand that you are receiving the message about 'too many activations' We do not provide support for this service through this channel." The message then proceeded to instruct me to open a case through the same support web portal I had used to open the case that they were reading. Also the instructions they gave to open the new case were incorrect. However, there was a phone number on the bottom of the message. After 30 minutes and repeated requests to provide my serial number (?) for Digital Editions, I was told that voice support was not provided for free software, and I should open a case on the support web portal.

Me too have the same problem, in the instalation and update process of my reader, aparently have used the 6 units allowed, and now I can not use my reader I get the following error:

JavierThe page you sent looks like you are trying to create an AdobeID (which you should already have), instead of trying to submit a web case.
Step by step instructions:
1.) Go to: http://www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions
2.) Click on "Submit a web case"
3.) Login (if needed)
4.) This will get you correctly to: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/support/index.cfm?event=porta
5.) In the Techinical support tab:
a.) Set the issue type to "other"
b.) Select "Additional Products" and select "Digital Editions"
c.) Press Continue
6.) A new page called "Create a support case" will appear" - enter in the appropriate informat - be sure to include the exact and full error text in the description
7.) Press Review & Submit
8.) (new page "Review Case") Review the details for correctness and click "Submit" -

I am having a hard time finding any info on this activation error, and I really can't get to the bottom of it. When I enter my companie's activation code for the BES 10 network, it gives me the following message:
" Device activation can't be completed because the setup process or a training tutorial is running on your device. Try again later."
It would be nice if the msg could be a little more specific! But anyway, I have tried all the traditional fixes, battery pulls, re&re to BES, etc. but still nothing. My last option is to wipe and see if that works but curious to see if anyone has run into this before.
PS I have a Z10 STL100-3

That message usually means that your phone was once connected to a different phone carrier than the one you're currently on.
Then when you restore or updated the phone it locked back to the original phone carrier - this is caused when the phone was hacked to unlock it from the original phone carrier.
Very rarely is the activation server unavailable. -

You don't need to install the older version, you only need the serial number from your original purchase. If you don't have them to hand, did you register? If so, they should be in your Adobe account. If not you really need to contact Adobe, though it isn't clear they will be able to do anything without some proof of purchase etc.

I have no idea how this happened, and its driving me insane and my little sister only used her iPad for a month before this happened. for some reason the the iPad email address ends in co.uk when the actual email ends with .com

"Too many activations" NOT TRUE, please help
How can I activate Indesign? I get a too-many-activations error, but there is no way to deactivate the copy that I am replacing. The Mac it was on went down, and the hard drive is not readable. I installed from the original disc and put in the serial# as requested. There is no option in the app to contact Adobe. When I use the website, I get an endless loop of click-around that ends at contact-support. Click that and it sends me back to the start. This should be a simple phone call with an easy to find number. I eventually found, by accident, the chat feature, but it was and is, unavailable. Please offer some real-world advice on how to get this fixed. I don't really want to go back to Quark...activation

I accidently uninstalled Photoshop CS3 without deactivating it and need to reinstall it on a new computer but am getting the "Too Many Activations" message. If somebody from Adobe is listening can you help please?
I realise this is a user-to-user forum but there is no other option. I've called the activation phone number which states there is no more phone activation support go to www.adobe.com/go/activation. The activation support web page says you can only use chat and the chat support people say there is only forum support for CS3 products. I just need my serial number reset as I can't use the purchased product!!

I've tried calling but as soon as you say CS3 on the automated system it hangs up :-(
When I was on a chat with Adobe I did ask how the forums were supposed to reset my activations but the guy just said you have to go through the forums.

That means you were trying to reach or were already chatting with Adobe Tech Support, as opposed to Adobe Customer Service. Only Adobe Customer service can assist you.
Insist to have your issue escalated to a supervisor if you get another id¡ot on the phone.
