Needing software on more then one computer?

Okay, here is the issue that we are having currently in the office. I work for a small CPA business, 1 CPA, 2 Tax Preparers, 1 Bookkeeper, and 1 Secretary (myself). Mark who is our CPA has a Zire 72 and we currently are using PalmOne Palm Desktop Software Version 4.1.4. We have the software on Mark's and I's computers. We sync his palm with my computer (which puts information from the palm onto my software and information I have entered on the software on to the palm) and then he just syncs his computer with the palm(which just places everything from the palm and my computer onto his computer). I take care of all his scheduling and other items. However, we would like to some how place the software on the network to somehow be able to access the data in the calendar and contact by any computer. We intend to just have the syncing done on my computer and then everything would automatically update for all to access it. Mark and our bookkeeper would both need access to the computer as well as I do in order to make appointments. Does anyone know if there is a way of doing this? We would like to start with 3 computers and if/as we grow would like to be able to link more computers.

I have similar needs to maintain my family calendar. Were you able to find any solutions?

Only if it was purchased on the App Store. Otherwise, read the software license that came with the DVD.

  • Sync to more then one computer

    Hello,
this may sound like a silly question, but I was wondering if you can sync the iPhone to more then one computer.
I have a laptop, and a iMac, both are synced to keep each others content merged and up to date.
I want to get some of the music which is on both locations on my iPhone. in the photos and music areas .
    can this be done?

No, not for music. The phone can only be synced to ONE music library, but contacts, calendars, and ohotos can be synced to multiple computers easily (Windows, Mac, or both, doesn't matter).
I think it's possible to copy the files form one of your computers to the other (almost like you would do if you got a new computer and were transfering your music library to the new one) to consolidate your library all on one machine.

  • How do you use more then one computer for your Ipod??

One of my computers died and I want to still use iTunes to get more music but I don’t want to erase what I have on my iPod now. I need to use a different computer with out erasing all the music I have now?? HELP

If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to a different iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:
    Using iPod with Multiple computers
    Managing content manually on iPod
    Syncing Music to iPod
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • Using remote with more then one computer.

Can i use remote with different computers? It works fine on mine but if i try to use it with another computer in the house it doesn't show up in itunes.

If you want to connect and use an iPod (other than a shuffle) on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply.
    Using iPod with Multiple computers
    Managing content manually on iPod
Note: When changing from automatic to manual, check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. "Don't" uncheck Sync Music in the Music tab, it will be unchecked by default when you choose the manual setting, if you uncheck it without setting the iPod to manual first you'll erase all the songs from your iPod
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • Using more then one computer but only see new songs on one computer

I have my itunes on both my home computer and my work computer and when I purchase new music on my home computer it doesnt show up on my work computer. How can I see the music on both?

*I purchase new music on my home computer it doesnt show up on my work computer. How can I see the music on both?*
If you want to have your purchases on more than one computer you have to copy them from the computer they are purchased on. When you purchase something it is downloaded to the computer you are logged into at the time, purchases don't simply appear on ever computer you choose to use. There are various methods to copy purchases between computers, CD-R, iPod, USB stick etc, you can read more at this llink: iTunes for Windows: How to copy purchases between authorized computers
You can have up to 5 computers authorised at any one time to play iTunes purchases: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • Can't have more then one computer online on same network

Hi there, came across a weird issue. I have a macbook pro, I wiped my iMac and brought it as a gift for my parents. I wanted to demonstrat how we can use ichat. I created an account for my parents and have my own. However, only one computer can be logged on at a time on our network. However at my place when I was working on the iMac, both could be logged in no problem. The only difference here at ther place is I have a aiport Extreme Base Station. Would this be causeing it. Thanks

    Hi,
In any router you can set how many Computers or devices can be linked or use it to access the internet.
How it is done can vary and there could be various options accessible on one device.
This is an older firmware for a Base Station but I am sure you can follow.
    Uploaded with Skitch!
This is the Internet Tab/Icon at the top and the Internet Connection tab
The top part is how the Base Station connects to any Modem (uplink)
The red Box bit is what it is doing to the LAN side.  Share an Public IP is in fact DHCP to the LAN
The DHCP Tab set the IP range (192.168.xxx.xxx or 10.0.1.xxx and so on) and the Limits of that range (i.e 1 to 254 IP addresses)
    Uploaded with Skitch!
You could limit the range to 1 IP
I actually do this on my router so that I know it is limited to the 2 wifi computers and the 4 phones.
You will notice that the Base Station will get the IP of 192.168.1.1 in this case.
That also leaves IPs 192.168.1.2 through 192.168.1.100 "spare" and along with those above .200  til the end of the range (255).
The Mac can then be set to do "Manually with DHCP" and use a Static Address (Using an IP in the "spare" areas).
You will also notice that there is a box where known computer or devices can have their IP listed so they always get the same IP.  (reservations)
Using a limit scope of IP addresses and this can also exclude "newcomers"  as there may not be any "free" spaces in the usable range.
    Now...
If the first Pic is set to anything but Share an IP then it is most likely that the Base Station is not doing DHCP to the LAN and the computer is set up to use a Static (Manually) set address.
One option is "Bridge (Off) Mode" which is DHCP Off  (I forget what the other option is)
This may Limit how many computers can acces the base Station (Particularly if visitors are set to "Using DHCP" in System Preferences > Network > TCP tab in the Advanced button)
    PPPoE
In the top pic the connection Uplink might be using PPPoE
This can also be "passed on" to another device,  which may be the Computer, which in turn would isoslate any other computer joining the LAN.
Hope that give you enough clues to find out what he has set

  • Use of software on more than one computer

Hi, all I would like to find out is if I can use my monthly subscription to Photoshop on more than one machine at home and whether there are discounts on subscribing to a second product when the first has been set up already?

You can use PS on two different computers, and with the subscription, you they don't have to be the same platform.

  • Locking keyboards & Mice on more then one computer

I'm researching the idea of locking all the keyboards and mice in a
    lab at
the same time from one computer (say a teacher wants to get
    everybody's
    eyes up front).
Does anybody know of a program which can do this. I know we can lock
things when we do remote control, but we would like a Teacher to be
    able
to quickly disable the entire lab with one (or two) mouse clicks.
The lab computers are all imported in the tree.
    Any info would be great.
    Thank you, James.

I forgot to mention, we are using NW5.1 and ZFD3.2 and it would be
    even
better if this program was freeware.

  • Can you install the new lion software on more then one mac or do you need to bye it for every computor

Three macs do I need to bye it three times.

Yes, but each computer must be running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 or 10.6.8. Log onto the Mac App Store using the same Apple ID. Click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should see an Install button to the right of the Lion purchase in the list.
If after you have downloaded Lion the first time you quit the installer instead of installing, then you can save the installer file to another drive as backup. You should find it in the Applications folder. Otherwise, the installer deletes itself automatically when finished installing.

  • Can I activate the Cloud software on more than one computer? [was:Gerry]

I purchased a single user PS CC license last year. During the interim the nature of my work has neccesitated that I have to work at two sepearte offices (one at home and one at my formal offices). Is it possible to "switch" the license to the different computers when I am at the different locations?
Can I log off at the office and login at my home office and vice versa? Use of the license will therefore be either at the office or at my home office but never both at the same time?

On the computer where you want to deactivate the Cloud, launch any Cloud app e.g. Photoshop CC 2014 and click Help > Sign Out.
    Activation & Deactivation Help
That will deactivate all Cloud apps on that computer. (They can be reactivated at any time by signing in again.)
On the new computer, sign in to your Cloud account with your Adobe ID, download the Cloud app then download the software.

  • Why cant i sync music from more then one computer without having to erase the music already on my ipod??

I have music on my ipod and i want to add more music from a diffrent computer but everytime i try it tells me i have to erase all the music already on my ipod. ihave tried to do multiple things and it does not seem to work.

Yes, you can use the one that's not broken. It just doesn't have the same stuff as your iPod. So when you sync the content will be erased. If you have a backup, then you can save your iPod content. Anyway, those songs, apps and books you purchased from iTunes can be re-download free of charge.

  • Using ipod on more then one computer

I currently have an hp pavilion but will be buying an ibook soon. I just purchased the new 60 gig ipod and would like to start using it right away with my itunes that I already have on my current computer.
When I get my new computer, will there be a problem installing the software on it and using the ipod with it?

Before you connect your iPod to the new computer, switch the iPod to Manual Update.
    To do this:
    1)Connect iPod to hp computer
    2) Open Preferences (in iTunes)
    3) Select the iPod tab
    4) Choose "manually manage songs and playlists"
Now, when you connect the iPod to the new computer, iTunes will open, but your iPod shouldn't be updated.
If the new computer does ask if you wish to link the iPod with the current library, do NOT click yes--this will erase all music.
You can use programs like Senuti or iPodRip to copy the music from the iPod to your new computer.
Once the music is in iTunes, you can switch your iPod back to Automatic Update.
Keep in mind--your iPod will work just fine on the Mac, but you will not be able to use the iPod Updater to update the iPod. You'll need to use a PC for any updates.
I hope this has helped. Let me know if anything is unclear.
