Needs Korean Language Support

I have Adobe Reader but with the PDF convertor pack so I can create and export PDFs.  I am sending my finished PDFs to a local council and when they try to open them it comes up that they need to load the Korean Language Support Pack or something like this.  Nothing is written in Korean and I cannot get them to download this pack. Any help will be appreciated.

The Extended Font Pack for Reader XI on Windows can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5508
P.S. the latest Reader XI version is 11.0.6

  • Korean Language Support Package required for Reader but not Acrobat?

One of our departments on campus has created a form that is causing some users to get a message prompting them to download the Korean Language Support Package in order to fill in the form fields.
When I originally tested this in Acrobat Pro 9 I didn't get any errors.  Another user also reported the issue recently (two this week).  So we tested it again, but this time used both Reader 9 and Reader X -- both programs were generating this message to download the language pack.  The form appears to be completely in English with no Korean characters.  It uses fairly standard fonts and I didn't see any embedding or encoding issues with the fonts.
Aside from having end users download a Korean Language Support Pack to view a PDF that doesn't seem to contain any Korean, are there any other options out there without recreating the form from scratch?  Here is a list of the fonts used in the PDF.  The only types of encoding are Ansi and Identity-H (which I expanded in the SS above), with the latter fonts being embedded within the PDF.
Any ideas?  The form is linked below.  Thanks in advance for your replies.
Here is a link to the PDF

    SOLVED
While our problems differ, my solution may still be relevant.
My culprit was a rogue font in an embedded Visio drawing. I identified and located the font using the "List text using non-embedded fonts" Preflight analysis in Acrobat 9.4 Pro. I checked the encoding of each non-embedded font and discovered that Arial Unicode MS used Korean font encoding (specifically, KSCms-UHC-H). See screenshot below. Doubleclicking on one of the font properties highlighted the offending text in the pdf.
I went to that location in the source file, which happened to be in the first embedded Visio drawing (shown above). I double clicked the drawing, selected all, and selected Arial font. Then I regenerated the pdf and viewed it in Reader X. The Korean language pack error message did not appear and all Visio drawings displayed normally.
I would recommend using the Acrobat preflight tools to locate text or objects with incorrect font encoding within your PDF or form, then surgically striking (or carpet bombing) the affected location(s) in the source files with embedded/supported fonts.
    Hope this helps.

  • Korean Language Support

Can anyone tell me when/if the IPAD will come out with Korean language support?

Presumably when iOS 4 is made available for the iPad in November.
The app store has some Korean input apps which may be useful for some purposes.

  • Regarding Korean language support

    Hello there,
I intend to buy z10 via Amazon website in Korea now
however, I am not sure whether Korean language would be supported
I do not have any information about z10.
It would not be launched in Korean in near future.
For former model of Blackberry, it had Korean language service.
    P.S.
Is there anyone who know the spot to ask these inquiries to Blackberry official email address?
Thank you and have a good day

  • Troubles with Japanese/Korean Language Support

First, I'm using Oracle Portal 3.0.9 - iAS 1.0.2.2. on Windows 2000 I have successfully loaded all the languages. The language portlet displays all available languages. Languages such as spanish, german or french render properly. When I try to render japanese or korean I get a series of ??????????????????? for all text. I've already installed the Windows 2000 language packs and can render other web sites (i.e. www.oracle.com) in those respective languages.
QUESTION: Is there anything more I have to do to properly render the japanese or korean languages?

  • Chinese, Japanese, Korean Language Support

There were already a number of suggestions about how to get Chinese, Japanese, Korean installed, but none of the message threads were related to the new Curve 9300.
The Blackberry Desktop Manager, even if updated to the lastest software, does not offer an option for Chinese, Japanese, Korean to add under the Application Loader section.
Also it seems to be impossible to find the cjk.alx files online for download.
I would be grateful if anybody could give me a precise explanation on how to install those languages and be able to read as well type in them.
    Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
As this thread is nearly a year old, I will jump in. Please see this helpful KB:
    KB05305Localization support for BlackBerry smartphones
Languages on a BB are controlled by the specific OS package installed to the BB, available via the official download portal:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
    3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    4) If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    5) Launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC. If, during the process, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
    Don't forget to backup.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • InDesign CS2 - Korean Language Support

    All:
I am running InDesign CS2 v.4.0, and would like to place a MS Word document that includes Korean text. Currently, the text is displayed as sqaures in InDesign once the document has been placed.
Ideally I'd also be able to copy/paste Korean text from the Word doc to the InDesign layout.
Does InDesign support Korean text? Is there an update that can be applied to the app to allow for this?
    Matt

ID "supports" it -- for a given value of "support".
What you see is most likely because the current
    i font
in your InDesign does not contain these Korean characters. Select another font of which you are sure it has these characters, and all should be fine.
Fonts that support lots and lots of characters do not appear in the standard (sorted) position in the font list. They can be found at the very bottom, grouped by ... something... (perhaps character subset support). Try Arial Unicode MS for starters -- just to check if it works!! Then pick a nice one.
By the way, Korean is written from Left to Right, isn't it? If it's
    i Right-to-Left,
well, then I was wrong and it's not supported :-( And you can't buy an upgrade either. RTL languages work only with the ME (= Middle East) version of ID, and that's not by Adobe.

  • English and Korean language support, buying in Korea?

The guy in the mac store told me all the macs can switch between Korean and English or whatever language. Are the operating systems the same but just selected for a main language? Would I be better to order one online from Canada or US? I do sometimes type in Korean and would like to have mainly an English system with the ability to toggle between typing English and Korean (hangeul) characters. If I buy in Korea the keys will actually have the hangeul characters on them, which is a bonus, but I'd like to know the operating system is the same and that I'll have no problems. I don't want all my menu's in Korean or nothing like that.
Also from what I've read I am thinking it would come with Leopard. Am I right or should I have posted this in a different forum?

OS X is the same no matter where it is sold and can switch among the 18 languages listed in its tech specs by simply changing preferences settings.
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/techspecs/
Regardless of the language of the OS, the user can select dozens of input keyboards separately via different preference settings. This includes 5 or 6 Korean input methods.

  • Limited language support on N97

I got my new N97 two days ago and I'm having great fun with it.
The biggest PROBLEM I have (other than the short battery life problem) is that it does not support other languages. It's got huge memory and apps to view documents etc etc. Supposed to be a phone that can do it all! But really, is it?
I'm a Korean who lives in the UK and frequently travel between Europe and Asia. Because I get emails in Korean and English, I really need Korean language support on the phone. --; what's the use if you can't read the emails, documents, titles of korean songs and all other languages other than English on the phone? What's the use of mobile internet if you can't do things that you normally do on laptop for fun? I want to read news on my mobile in Korean!!!!!
I was going to get an iphone because it supports different lanugages but changed my mind in the last minute. I think N97 looks really cool. But now I'm beginning to have second thoughts on it. If Nokia is really going to do what it says it's going to do with "connecting people" that happens to include "mobile internet" and so on, then they should have loaded full language support on the phone!!!!
PLEASE NOKIA, CONSIDER MY POINT AND LOAD SOME EXTRA LANGUAGE SUPPORT ON YOUR PHONES.

    to hyowonnie
hi! i don't know if you've solved this issue but it has been solved through one of the 5800 topics.
well, more like half solved, you will be able to read korean hangeul but not write. i haven't found that one yet. i'm not korean but i'm studying the language. i was ready to leave nokia for an iphone until i found this, gave me enough hope to hold on.
    here is the thread
kudos to chanchan05 for giving me the tip

    Hey there.
I have an unusual problem re mail from a Korean client. Some of the characters are cached when I reply to mail from them and it then won't send with any smtp server - i've tried many.
Is there a way of turning off the Korean language support to stop this happening?

System Preferences>International, uncheck Korean in the Language & Inout Tabs... may require a restart to work.

First of all, uninstall it with the uninstaller.
    Then:
    Install the ENGLISH version.
Change the language in the CC app to Korean.
Install the Korean version. (DON't uninstall the English version)
Change back the langauge in the CC app to English.
When your OS is running in English, InDesign will run in English with Korean functionality added, if your OS is running in Korean it will take the Korean User Interface, so let your OS run in English.
Every installer language will add needed plugins for the work with that language. E.g. If I install Hebrew, I get RTL functionality in German version, only if I would change the OS language it would change the language of InDesign, InDesign takes always as UI language the language of the OS if available, if not (in your case you have uninstalled English before), it takes any version which is available in the order of languages specified in the OS.
If you need to run your program in a different language than the OS but you have installed it in the language of the OS it becomes more difficult. You would have to use some system tools which are able to force a program to open with a different language. Most of those tools are freeware.
