  • Windows 7 Professional with SP1 - Unbootable

From the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC), I downloaded
    Windows 7 Professional with SP1
    SW_DVD5_Win_Pro_7w_SP1_32BIT_English_-2_MLF_X17-59276.ISO
From Windows 7 Pro, I burnt a DVD from the ISO using the Windows Disc Image Burner.
I am unable to boot into the target laptop from this disc. However, I am able to boot into other bootable DVDs.
Is there something wrong with the ISO so it does not produce a bootable disc using Windows Disc Image Burner.
    autorun.inf

    open=setup.exe
    icon=setup.exe,0
    Thanks in advance.

Either download has not completed correctly or burning process was not correct.
    1. Try to download ISO and check the downloaded file. Do analysis with SHA1 or MD5.
    2. I use CD Burner XP http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home ans have never had any problem.

  • VM installation with multiple .iso files

    Hello All:
I have a windows image which spread across 3 iso files. So I started to install the VM from the first iso files, then it got to a point where it ask me for the 2nd iso file.
This is where I am stuck. Does anyone successfully install a VM with multiple iso files?
What is the correct procedure to do this installation?
    thanks,
    Peter

First thing, have you already imported (into VM Manager) the other CD/DVD's into separate .iso files?
Then during installation, from open VNC Console window, make sure that you resize the window so that the lower portion is visible. There is a drop down button that will let you select a different .iso file, and a button next to it that says something like "Change Disk". This effectively lats you swap the DVD for the installation process to continue.
Screen shots would be helpful here, but the key is resizing the VNC Console window, because duringmy install, the default window size cropped these buttons out.
    Hope this helps.

I suspect if you're trying to open a file in 08 that's been opened in 09 the file has been updated to 09 and will not open in 08.

Plug the device into the computer and iTunes will detect it.  If that is not working, then stating as such would be a good start.

  • Installing Windows 8.1 on a Mid-2010 13-inch MB Pro, with an iso file.

    Hi Everyone,
My first post, so bare with me.
I'm hoping to get some help here, after almost trying everthing on the menu.
What im looking for is an explanation on how i can get Windows 8.1 installed on my MB Pro, with the use on iso file. I have downloaded, the necesarry BootCamp Drivers etc. When i launch the Bootcampassistant the only options I am able to choose from are: 1: Download the latest Windows support software from Apple and 2: Install Windows 7.
If any of have the solution to my problem, please do comment.
    Thanks,
    HB

Read the Boot Camp guides, especially the Boot Camp system requirements located here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634.
The system requirements for your computer indicate that your computer does not suppot Windows 8.1.

  • Missing drivers for Windows 7 Professional with BootCamp.

I have a brand new MB Pro with 13" Retina, late 2013, 250 GB SS-disk, 8 GB RAM.
I need a partition with Windows 7 Professional, and I have an ISO with Norwegian Windows 7, service pack 1.
I run the BootCamp assistant to partition my HDD and to generate the USB-disk with Windows and the necessary drivers.
When i try to install Windows the Windows installer asks for a driver for the DVD-drive. I get a message that it cannot find a driver file and tells me to provide one. There is no DVD so that is correct. There is no way I can skip this part, and I must stop the intallation. I have not been able to trace down any dummy-drivers.
I have also tried to do this procedure with a USB-Superdrive attatched, but that did not help.

I am sorry, but this does not help me. I have tried. Or should I unpack all files to the top-level? I kept the folder structure.
I have downloaded the contents and it looks just like my Windows installation USB-disk that Boot Camp generates.
My problem is that when I am in the process of installing Windows, the installer stops because it does not find a driver for the CD/DVD-drive. I have chosen Language, and the next thing that happens is an error message. I can not complete the installation.
The error-message is something like this:
"Missing driver for CD/DVD station. ...
If the Windows installation medium is in the CD/DVD-station you may safely remove it before this step."
I have used the same iso-image to install a virtual machine using Virtual Box, so I think the image is OK. I need a dual-boot to avoid timing loss.

  • Need Windows XP Professional/MacBook Pro answers before installing

I have a Windows XP Professional CD FULL Version that I got right after it was released to retail. It does not have any SATA drivers (got it in 2001), but I was able to integrate (slip in) Service Pack 2 from instructions I saw in another post. The original XP CD has not been in use for a while and needed to know if I use the laptop that has a newer version of Windows on to create the new CD will it work on a MacBook Pro Intel i5 with 10.6.3 (has all current updates) . There are some programs I need to use, but the pc laptop is 29 months old and is about had.
This is my first Apple anything so I don't know what from the Windows world will work with it or not. Also do I need to get drivers for the hardware I currently have on my apple for the Windows side (example: do I need to find the current audio/video/memory card/ethernet drivers) of the partition.

I just installed win xp on my mac, for the first time. (dont know much about macs, but i am from a windows background).
Not sure about creating a new cd, but the steps i took were as follows.
    Go to finder> apps> utilitys> boot camp.
Then create a windows partition. ( I made mine 10GB as i dont need alot of space).
Then it asks for your windows CD. ( the origional one you have i am guessing should work fine, youll just have to do more windows updates than a newer disc).
make sure when going through the windows install, you install it on the "BOOT CAMP" partition, and you must format it, DO NOT leave it intact, as it wont work.
If you format it as FAT, then you can transfer files from your mac to it but its not necessary.
But formatting it as NTFS isnt a problem either, you just cant transfer things onto it when your are in OSX.
after its installed it will need drivers, which is easy they are on your OS X dvd, just put it in and run the boot camp file to install the boot camp drivers and utility.
one thing i found was that it defaulted to boot to windows after i installed it.
if you want to boot into os x, then hold in the option button when you switch it on and you can select os x.
and you can change the default boot partition in system preferences under, the startup option.
so far i havnt had any windows programs that wouldnt work on my windows install. but ive only had it for about 24 hours!

correct me if i am wrong you can order the restore disc from hp if the device is less than 5 years old or less depending how far hp will go back since so many new PCs and hp may go less that 5 years and you may need to order outside of HP support as for the pirate windows and this miscrosoft will not allow you any MsUpdates on their website and pirated copys of windows are a spell for trouble with glitched or security issues protecting your PC if it were me and i would use the restore disc to get the PC back where it was from the manufacture pre-installation

  • What to do with an ISO file?

I've downloaded a zip file which has expanded to an iso file - I thought i needed to burn it to dvd before opening but nothings happened.... it does look like it hasn't fully uncompressed.... any ideas? Thanks....

An ISO is yet another compressed file. So your compressed ZIP archive was just a compressed ISO archive (double-zip!). Not sure why anyong would do that, but simply copying the ISO to a disc won't work. You'll end up with a single file (the ISO) burned on the disc.
You need to do a "burn image" session. Nearly all burning software has that ability. Basically the burning software unzips the archive to disc during the burn so that you end up with a multitude of files on your disc.
ISO is particularly useful when imaging a bootable disc, and then making copies from that image that boot like the original.
    Good luck.

  • I need windows Xp professional restore disks.

    Hello,
I recently posted that i needed restore disks for an old computer (a satallite m45) that you no longer carry the disks for, and you gave me a nice list of sites to get the disks from. I ordered from the one site that carried the disks for my computer and ran the disk and it worked as far as i know. But apparently frrom this company, I'm not allowed the windows xp professional disk that would restore the windows portion of my computer to the propper finctonality, so I'm still not able to use my computer yet.
So i was wondering, are you guys able to send me a general copy of the windows xp professional restore disk that came with my computer,  or do i have to order that from the online windows people. And if not, would buying a new version of windows work if i set that up on my computer.
THank you for any response i get.

Yeah, sorry, I might've not made myself clear.
the restore disk i bought online only restored my computer to the factory settings, which means everything gets deleted off it. But the disk doesn't include reinstalling windows XP, and i don't have an origional windows Xp home edition disk, as my computer didn't come with one since it was already installed on it.
And since my computer is too old for you guys to carry any restore disks, i'm unable to order a new one from you guys, unless there is some special way that you can send me a generic copy of windows xp restore disk that would work for my computer.
So i hope that makes it clearer. My question is, I'm wondering if there is any way that i can order a windows xp home edition restore disk from Toshiba even though my computer is too old for you guys to apparently still carry the things when i try to order it from the site. If so, I'd very much appreciate it.
    Thanks

  • Windows Downloaded setup.exe, not iso file.

Well... I just recently bought windows 8, but it downloaded a file called windows8setup.exe -- not an iso. I don't have a windows machine to open the exe, so how can i get the windows iso?

So i guess my question is: How can i get the windows8 iso from the setup.exe without having access to a windows computer.
