Neeon 5GB stuck on "creative" scr

When my player is plugged in the PC it just sticks to the Creative screen. I didn't have this problem till about last week. It's been fine for just about a year till now.
It still can be played normally unplugged but I need to put songs in and its just stuck.
I've seen a few people here with that problem and no one's seemed to answer.
Please I really need to know cause im scared that i'd have to go back to the shop to exchange it something.Message Edited by vince-valentine on 0-25-2006 02:53 AM

take out the battery for about 30 seconds and put it back in, thats how i fixed mine

Creative Micro Photo stuck at Creative scr

I went to use my device last night at the gym. The device when booting up will not load the os. It gets stuck on the Creative screen. Now the device will also not shut down. I have to pull the battery to shut the device down. Has anyone else seen this issue before? Is it possible that the device has gone bad some how?

Hi Waverider,?Having worked tech support for Creative I can tell you that the hard dri've of your player is probably defecti've. Have you tried the steps in the Recovery mode?Also I noticed that you use the player at the gym. Please make sure the player is not subjected to repeated shocks as this will damage the hard dri've as if you were to shock the hard dri've of a laptop computer. The micro is being discontinued due to the advancement of technology afforded on the newer players, not because of any defects of the player.
You may wish to consider a flash based player where the memory is stored on a chip rather than a moving hard dri've. They are designed for the acti've lifestyle ie: jogging etc... These would be the Nano, Nano Plus and the new line of Zen V players. Hope this hel

I was listening to music the one day before?and when I tried to turn it on it only appears on the screen: CREATIVE and the menu doesn`t appear on the screen and I can`t listen to music and it doesn`t turn off until I reset it. But you can listen to the hard disk running. I can use it like an USB device but I can`t listen to music. i tried with the upgrade from firmware but appears:
Device detection failed! Please power off it to generate system file.
Device upgrade failed!What happen is`t death?

My zen neeon 5gb always needs to be formatted everytime i connect

i have a zen neeon 5Gb with no travel charger ( not bundled)
so i usually charge it with my pc's usb, but my neeon always like corrupted everytime i need to re-charge
the "corrupted" status is like i can't access it from windows explorer, and my windows hangs everytime i connect my neeon
so what i did is always put the neeon into recovery mode and format the firmware again,then the problem's solved
but i always need to did this almost everytime i connected it to my pc, which makes i need to copy all my mp3s again
and again everytime i want to charge it...
this is very tiring..helps please...

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

Zen Micro 6gb Stuck at "Creative" l

First off, I realize there have been many topics relating to booting up and the screen freezing at the welcome creative screen. I just need to see what needs to be done, wether it be manually or by customer support. Recently on vacation, I dropped my Creative zen micro about 4 feet onto concrete. Now when i picked it up to check it out, there were no scratches or pieces that fell off. Also there was no rattling inside of the mp3 player. Later to my suprise, when turning it on, it froze at the "Creative" logo, and would not procede to go to the menu. I slapped it on my knee a couple times, nothing to serious, just seeing if anything that came loose, would set back in its place. Well it worked, don't ask me how, but it worked. I succesfully got to the menu and could listen to music. Well later, when I turned it back on I noticed it got stuck back at the creative screen. Somehow, when I put pressure on the mp3 player, something happened, and it booted back to the menu, like it would normally. Everything seemed fine, until about 3 days later it all happened again, but for good, its not going to the menu. All I see is a white screen with the black text that reads " Creative ". The only way to turn the player off, is to take out the battery, When plugged into my pc, it charges, and proceeds to glow in and out,.. but the screen light stays at a solid brightness, while the blue outlining fades in and out. I tried running all the options in the reboot menu, like format, and clean disk, but they all freeze up/ My pc recognizes the mp3 player, but the creative software I have installed does not. I tried updating the firmware, but it says my player is not connected. I thought about contacting customer support, but I notices that the seal is ripped, or "tampered" with. Its very easy top break the seal on accident, all you have to do is move the metal plate downward, and the seal ri

At this point, I just disassebled the player to see if there were any loose parts, and I noticed everything seemed to be in order, and I put it back together to find the same results as before. Well I have it disassembled again, with all the parts layed out. Any help would be great.
Also, one last question.. Is there anyway I can reset the hardri've manually, as in, is there a little reset button on the hard-dri've that would format it's I have it in my hand, was just wondering if I could reset it.

I started reading in this forum because my Zen Micro Photo freezed today . It left the bag of my trousers and hit the floor. I am now wondering how much people do have the same problem as me. My player was falling the first time from the height of my knees and it was turned off. Startup stucked on Creative screen.
It seems to be that Creative harddisk players are especially vulnerable to hits like this. It is acceptable when it does not work anymore after hitting the floor 0 times. Or when it falls from a table. But already after the first time from a short height?
I tried what administrators do not advise:
Banging the player during startup. Reached music library. Had to bang two or three times more and all was okay. I am not sure for how long this will hold.

Zen Micro frozen with the word the "Creative" stuck on the scr

Yesterday, whil listening to music, my Zen froze up (understand, I just bought this a week ago). So. I tried to shut it off. Nothing. So. I took the battery out. When I put it back in, the word "Creative" stays stuck on my screen. I've tried taking the battery back out, putting it back in. Still the same thing. So. I tried hocking it back up to my computer. It doesn't even acknowledge the device. Nothing is working. What should I do?

Can you try getting the player into Recovery Mode? If it can't do that either, it's possible there is a hardware problem with the player (contact Customer Support for assistance). If you can get into Recovery Mode, try the Clean Up first.

Creative Zen 8gb stuck in 'rebuilding' scr

Whenever I turn on my sister's creative zen it goes straight to the 'rebuilding screen'. The bar moves up about a fifth of the way then freezes.
I have tried every bit of advice I could find, i.e. i've gone into recovery mode, done the scan disk, format, and reload firmware, all to no avail.
I downloaded the latest firmware (ZEN_PCFW_L22__2_0e) and tried to upgrade the player to this via recovery mode, but i keep getting 'upgrade failed'.
The only way I can even get my computer to even recognise the player is by going into recover mode.
I'm sunning Vista...the player was working fine for a few months and this happened out of the blue, according to her.
Is there anything else I can try or is this a hardware issue?
Please help!!!!

Yes, about a million times at this stage. When it gets stuck on the rebuilding screen I have no other way of turning it off than to reset it.Message Edited by BleakestH on 09-07-2008 04:05 AM

Creative Zen XTRA - Stuff stuck behind the scr

I know this is a stupid problem but some crap has got stuck between the screen and when i removed all the screws at the front to try and get inside I couldn't. How the hell can I get this stuff out from behind the screen. Any ideas?

this discussion went around a few weeks ago, i think someone suggested possibly blasting some of that compressed air stuff in there to see if that does the trick. (but be careful cause you could introduce more dust or possibly moisture into it so it may not be a good idea). i don't know how the dust gets in there except that there must be a leak somewhere, but i've seen other things that had that. i had a digital camera (one of those HP pieces of junk) that got some dust in behind the lens (how can THAT happen) and there's no way to get in there to get it out. i'd imagine if it was REAL bad you might be able to get creative to fix it for you but it may fall under one of those "cosmetic" type clauses that gets them out of it, don't know but it's worth asking.

Zen Vision M: Stuck on Creative L

Hey guys, I just got a Zen Vision M from Amazon yesterday. When I connected it for charging on the AC/DC adapter, it showed a Creative logo and all lights turned on. And then, that's it. The manual told me to turn it on while it's charging. Nothing. It's still stuck on the creative logo. I unplugged it three hours later and tried to turn it on. The screen won't turn on. Tried to connect it to the computer and turn it on. Nothing. So I plugged it back on the charger, and there the creative logo appeared again and all lights turns on. And that's it. I can't seem to turn it on. Anyone can help me?? *Tears*

My machine crashed on the first download with what appeared to be 90% done, now it is stuck "downloading Creative cloud desktop" at about 10% internet working fine.

Thomh57685518 I would strongly encourage you to run Mac OS 10.7 or later if possible. You can find the system requirements for the Creative Cloud applications at System requirements | Creative Cloud.

Zen Neeon Only Turns to Charge Scr

I've had my Zen Neeon for about a year now, and just randomly yesterday (hadn't damaged it or anything- I was listening to it, put it away then went to get it again) when I tried to turn it on it turns to the charge screen. The charging icon is showing as well, however there is no USB or charger connected to the MP3 Player. I am unable to get it to the normal music screen, meaning I can't listen to anything. The only way I can get it off the charging screen is by resetting it or waiting for the battery to die. Can anyone explain why this has happened?Please!

flydoctor: Have you tried a disk cleanup? See the FAQ post.
I assume the wall adapter is by Creative at least? If it doesn't fully charge in 4 hours using this then the player sounds faulty, although it's odd that it will charge from some USB ports.

Zen Micro Photo frozen on Creative scr

Hi, I have had my Zen Micro Photo for three months and it has worked fine untill today. When I turned it on it went to the creative screen like it usually does and it just stayed there. I tried taking out the battery and putting it in again but it did the same thing. It doesn't even do anything when I hook it up to the computer. What can I do? I'm freaking out here please help me!!!!!!

It could be that the microdri've is "stuck" or in failure.
While the MicroPhoto is turned off, try tapping (well do it very firmly and with enough force) on the palm of your hand, restart the MicroPhoto and see if it boots up completely.
If not, a firm smack on a table top or counter may unstick the heads of the microdri've if that is what's preventing the microdri've from completely booting up.

Zen Micro Stuck On Startup Scr

My Zen Micro 2 gig is two years old. It seems it is stuck on the startup screen that states "Creative." I thought I heard a slight pulsating/droning sound upon startup. I was going to merely try a firmware reinstall or format but I cannot even get the computer to recognize a connection with the device. When I charge the device, I do get the animated charging icon - however I am sure that would be independent of any other features.
If I remember correctly the Micro is a hard dri've based device? If so I would think that it must have been damaged somehow. Either way, any suggestions on how to attempt a fix? Or is the player gone to MP3 Heaven?

If you're absolutely sure you cannot enter recovery mode then you'll need to contact support to get it replaced.

Micro stuck in creative l

i tried a disk cleanup already but it just stays on scan disk. Ive waited for about an hour its its still stuck there. I was just listening to music when suddenly the music stopped and I coudn't do anything with the player. I've taken EXTREMELY GOOD care of my player it it just disheartens me to know that creative players really suck no matter what most people say here that this is a support forum so most people go here when they have problems. I've been reading this forums since I was deciding to buy the micro and I bought one thinking only a small percentage have problems. Don't give me crap that "oh for god's sake just ship the player to creative and get a replacement." It's not that easy. Im from the Philippines the micro was bought for P4000 or about 2 months minimum wage. When I buy an expensi've product I expect it to last more than 2 weeks. I'm going to have to save again to ship it to creative which costs P000(my whole months allowance and school doesnt start till June so lucky me :sarcasm: Now dont go telling me to fix my english cos its not my nati've language. **bleep** OFF. Im really pissed right now.
