NEF files only allow for exposure changes in CS2

Hi
When I open a NEF file (this happened with both D50 and D200 cameras) they only open a small raw box that allows me to change just exposure.
When I had a Canon 20D the raw files would open a big box where I could change EVERYTHING and included a preview screen, but I just dont have this for my Nikon files.
Any ideas?

To expand on Jeff's message, the Nikon PS plug-in is installed automatically when you install Nikon software. To get ACR, you need to remove or disable (rename, changing the extension) the Nikon plug-in and properly install Adobe Camera Raw, per the installations on the ACR download page.

in the iPhoto preferences change the print products country to the UK and give it a try - there may be some restirctions on billing but it has worked for some people

Is xmp files only availble for RAW files?

When we develop a RAW image with Camera Raw, we always get an xmp file with all the settings,
But after I developed a JPG image, I saw the Camera Raw Settings icon appeared above the right upper corner of the image thumbnail in Bridge,
however, I couldn't find the xmp file.
Is xmp files only availble for RAW files? JPGs or TIFs don't have xmp files for their Camera Raw settings??

Read-only didn't work for me, on a single jpg file, although it did lead to some interesting behavior. Set the read-only attribute on a jpg file in Windows XP and then tried the following:
1. Opened in Bridge, then into ACR 5.4. Performed some edits, then tried "Done", received permissions error and would not save edits.
2. Did the same except now invoked "Open", went into CS4 with edits intact and allowed saving out as different file. However, the ACR edits were not saved within the jpg, as expected, nor was a xmp created.
3. Removed the read-only attribute, repeated (2). Even though did not save file in CS4 the "Open" action did embed the edits into the jpg.
So read-only doesn't really allow creation of a xmp file, other than perhaps temporarily for transfer to Photoshop. It does lead to somewhat inconsistent behavior, in that I would have expected the "Open" to fail also since it could not bury the edits in the jpg.

Automatic carryforward only allowed for amount 0

On 4.7, we are attempting to process a payment for on a FY2007 Purchase order using MIRO. We are now in our FY2009 year but we are receiving the error message FMCF101 - Automatic carryforward is only allowed for amount 0. What could be the cause of this?
The PO was created on 03/21/2007. A goods receipt for the total quantity of the PO was entered on 06/27/2007. Two invoices were successfully processed on 02/28/2008 but when we attempt the final 3rd invoice for 06/30/08, we receive the error message.

If you have Periodic Based Encumbrance Tracking PBET active and you use the GR/IR updating in OFUP as well as you use the invoices to determine the CF level, then you MUST carry forward the GR - which in FM are considered invoices (same value type 54).
Trying to reduce the GR without having carried forward the GR is not valid and you will get the error "Automatic carryforward is only allowed for amount 0".
The only possibilities to avoid this error are:
1. Carry forward the GR from the previous fiscal year to the one being modified.
2. In OFUP do not use the invoice to determine the carry forward level.
3. Do not update both the GR and IR but only the IR
4. Do not use PBET. To update the GR in the previous FY or update it in the current FY without carry forward, contradicts PBET.

If there is none then check in OMLR what indicators you have set in field immediate TO creation

System shud not allow for batch change after bacth determiantion.

Is there any way that system not allow for any change related to batch and its qunitity.

Activating Check Batch Tab in COR4 will performs an additional check in order itself.This check works after completing Batch Determination.For example during Batch Determination system has selected (as per your sort rule) Batch X for issue.But later User tries to change this Batch No. to Batch Y(by overwriting the batch no. in Batch field).But if you have activated this Check Batch function then system will perform the check immediately whether this new Batch complies the Batch Determination rule or not.And if found wrong then gives you an error or warning msg(depends oin your msg control).
my second point is regarding Transaction code COB1 to deactivate the Allow change function.See if you activate the this tab then you finds that qty fields editable during Batch determination.So you can change the qty. manually during batch detemination.
So in your case 2 level checks required.
1) During Batch Determination (COB1) - Deactivate Allow change
2) After Batch Determination(COR4) - Activate Check Batch

Elements 8 opens NEF-files wrong, usually I could change them

Usually when I opened the imported NEF-files from my cam in Elements 8 there would open the RAW-menue where I could change the settings and all kind of things, the colour and so on. Now it just opens without any options of changing the colour or anything, just like a jpg or gif.
I already updated the plugin from this link:

Still same problem. It used to work all the time though, it suddenly does not work anymore.

May be it would help to reinstall Elements 8 and install the update for camera RAW again?

@Barbara B.: Yes, I have a new Monitor, that probably cannot connect properly to my graphic card, the system now has only 32 Bit and it usually has 64 Bit. The display is as bad as it usually was, when I reinstalled Windows and the drivers were not installed yet, and when drivers were installed then I had the 64 Bit and a much better display and could get higher sreen solution. There are no drivers for the Monitor on the Installation CD and there are none from the producers site. Customers support will deliver another model for me now. So, hopefully that will solve my RAW-problem too.

I am looking for example which allow some of the IP's belongs to INSIDE which can allow to using PAT method to access Internet.

It is talking about the whole 192.168.2.0/24 subnet.
The following example configures dynamic PAT that hides the 192.168.2.0 network behind the outside interface address:
hostname(config)# object network my-inside-net
hostname(config-network-object)# subnet 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
hostname(config-network-object)# nat (inside,outside) dynamic interface
I would like to check how should config if only allow parts of IP belongs to 192.168.2.0/24 can be PAT to internet and others will deny. Should be need create additional ACL?

Hi,
You might be better of limitin the mentioned hosts from connecting to the Internet in the interface ACL rather than making a special NAT configuration that determines if a host can connect to the Internet.
If you want to control which host gets NATed then you could use the Manual NAT / Twice NAT configuration instead of the above Auto NAT / Network Object NAT
Example could look something like this
object-group network PAT-SOURCE-HOSTS
network-object host <host1 ip>
network-object host <host2 ip>
network-object host <host3 ip>
nat (inside,outside) after-auto source dynamic PAT-SOURCE-HOSTS interface
You can then add the addresses directly under the "object-group" or remove them when needed.
You could naturally use small subnets instead of the host addresses in the above example if all the users are from a certain range of the subnet you mentioned. You will also have to make sure that there is no other NAT configuration on your ASA that would apply to the users.
The above Manual NAT / Twice NAT is at the lowest Section 3 (priority of NAT configuration) because it has "after-auto" as a part of the "nat" command.

Some of my video files only play for a five second duration in QuicktimeX.

A few video files I have only play the clip for five seconds, but when I play the same exact clips in VLC they work, it is only 3 or 4 video files, but it is a problem, also when you see the little video icon, you see the video, for the ones that only play for five seconds, you see blotches, and a grey picture. Is there any way to fix this problem? The file format is in .avi

I was cleaning up desktop and deleted a firefox file that I didn't recognize....it ended up being the one that allows for opening up the previous session

I have no idea how/why it was on desktop....and I emptied the recycle bin already! I was just trying to get organized a bit and clean up clutter...but I did use that feature almost daily, as it helped me to just close up the computer in the evening without worrying about getting to all the work the next day, as I would now immediately remember what I was doing!

LR 4.4 - Import - Nef File - preview unavailable for this file

Hello, using LR4.4 I get, for SOME (not all) NEF files, the following error message : "Preview Unavailable for this file". Files are stored on a local hard drive. They could be "seen" with ViewNX, Capture NX. Don't understand.

So I just purchased Lightroom 5 and put it on my desktop last week and my computer crashed. If I end up having to purchase a new PC, does this mean I also have to purchase Lightroom again because it is only allowed for 1 PC use?

This may seem like a silly question. But, I see on the insert that it says license is only good for 1 PC use. I am SO upset that my computer crashed, and thinking about wasting $128 makes that even more upsetting.

I'm not sure what "insert" you are talking about, but as said above a perpetual license is good for installation on two computers. If the old computer is still functional, you can either uninstall LR5 from it or consider a new computer as the second installation. If the old computer is not functional and will never be used again, then LR is not functional and this is equivalent to its having been uninstalled.

Read config file only once for beans

I want to read onfiguration file Myconfig.cfg with many global values (server IP, port, database URL, pages, etc) I'm using a bean but every time a JSP or servlet create an instance of that bean all the data has to be read form disk...
I know that if I put the code for reading the file in the init() method in a servlet it is called only once, but how do I read those values from another servlet or JSP, ???
What is the best solution...

You can put initiation parameters in your web.xml file and write a servlet that is called on startup. Once the values are read you can put them into the application scope. (i.e. application.setAttribute("jdbcUrl", jdbcUr); )
Then in your JSP pages you can take them out by using the application.getAttribute("jdbcUrl"); method.
