NEF-Pictures in portrait-format, opened in Photoshop CS5 by LR3, are rotated

My problem is:
I want to edit NEF's (RAW-Format of Nikon) in Photoshop.
I do that in LR3 by "edit-in CS5".
CS5 opens (with no ACR-dialogue), and the NEF's with portrait orientation have a 90 degree rotation.
Any explanations?

I'm not sure if it's ViewNX2's fault although the problem is related to it .
It's also the same for CaptureNX2.
1. When Lightroom first scans a photo edited in ViewNX 2 the orientation is correct.
2. also when Lightroom first write the values to the xmp file the orientation value is correct.
(Proof: It is possible for Lightroom to read the correct value)
3. But when you then force "Metadata -> Read Metadata from file" the orientation changes
4. this also happens when you send the file to Photoshop
It seems that Lightroom reads values from the NEF-file and the xmp file
and merge them to a wrong value.

ViewNX seems to store 2 different values, 1 is absolute and one is an offset in degree,
one of them is wrong/added only after editing in ViewNX
This problem only occurs if saving an image in ViewNX that has a non-default orientation.
(For example when saving an image which is turned by 180 degree you get the same problem
in Lightroom with 180 degree).
---> Workaround (works also for multiple selected images)
In ViewNX 2:
1. rotate the image to original camerachip-orientation like it would look without
orientation correction, e.g. for pictures of people. feet left and head right (maybe you do it in other direction).
2. Now edit the image and save it (or change any not used value for and back to be able to save).
3. After saving the image you can set the rotation in ViewNX to anything you want.
---> Conclusion:
Maybe ViewNX adds a wrong value or Lightroom does something wrong with the "maybe" new added value after editing
in ViewNX.
Without Source-Code i can't find out more.
I hope someone of the developer looks into this.
