Negative Forecast in SNP
Hi,
I released forecast to SNP from DP. The released Forecast values in the standard planning book shows with negative values. To cross check the problem I tried to create Forecast from RRP3. The entered values shows up negative values in the SNP planning book. Any inputs in this regard would be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
K7
Hi,
This is a bug. You never get negative values into SNP through release. You either need to upgrade the service packs or open a OSS message.
Refer to this [post.|Re: Forecast Values appear negative in SNP Planning Book; that talks about a similar issue.
Thanks.

Negative forecast release to snp
Hi,
we have a requirement to be able to release negative forecast values from dp to snp, i tried this out using the standard transaction sapapo/mc90 but whenever i release negative forecast values it zeroes it out in snp. Though we get a message that negative forecast values zeroed out.
Is it possible to release negative forecast values to dp, if yes how?
ThanksAs far as i know, You cant release negative forecasts into SNP by MC92
This converts the Time series to Order Series Data. There cant be a negative Forecast in SNP . Forecast is already a negative requirement. So a negative forecast is the equivalent of a reciept
Why do you need negative forecast in SNP. If its for display purposes use TSCOPY and copy to a time series KF in SNP planning area.
Else, using some mechanism, Filter out the Negative forecasts and make it absolute values and pass it on to SNP as Planned orders instead of Forecasts (you can change the order type when you release forecast from FA to something that is planned orders) you can pass the non-negative as forecast. -
Transfer of forecast from SNP to ECC
We are using transfer profile to transfer forecast (9ADFCST) from SNP to ECC.
We find that the original forecast is not transferred, but only the unconsumed (Original fcst - sales) forecast is transferred.
Is there a way to transfer the original forecast from SNP to ECC?
Thanks,
AshokHi JD,
Thanks for your response.
Yes, we had thought of doing that, but we are transferring the forecast based on requirement strategy for each product in product master data in SNP.
Though DP has all the original forecst, it does not have req. strat. as a selection criterion for SKU.
For example-- if the req. strat. is 20 then create VSF orders in ECC, if it is 30 then create VSE orders in ECC and if it is 32 do not transfer to ECC.
So we have to fall back on SNP to transfer the forecast using that product selection criterion.
But in SNP the forecast is consumed by sales order/deliveries and only the "remaining" forecast (after all the consumption have taken place) is transferred.
We had tried /sapapo/dmp2 to transfer original forecast, but it does not work if the "Planning Assembly" field is not checked in the product master. And we do not use that field in our product master data. -
Setting Negative Forecast Values to Zero
In 7.0 we used a option - Setting Negative Forecast Values to Zero.
But after upgrade to 7.3 this option is missing and I can find any information about this.
Can we open the option in 7.3?
AnatolyHi,
thanks for your reply.

If i don't include the global 'mls qos' command then the voice packets keep the dscp 46 value. If I add the mls qos command this causes the switch to set the dscp values to zero.
Thanks again
ps. there are some other mls commands on the switch... i don't know if these could interfere but they were already on there so i'm reluctant to remove them.. -
Negative Forecasts appearing in APO-DP
Negative forecasts appearing in APO-DP against some brand/packs.Any reasons why????
Hello Kailesh,
Sometimes the planning book doesn't show what is saved in livecache. This is especially true when you have some default macros which gets executed when you load data. The default macros will run and therefore the planning book will show the result of the macro computation and not exactly what is saved in livecache. For example, if you have a macro in one planning book which computes the Net Forecast = Stat + Adjustments. Every time this planning book is run Net Forecast gets computed and also gets saved when the user clicks the save button. Now, imagine what will happen if stat or adjustments gets changed somewhere else (e.g. thru another planning book or thru stat forecasting). When you go the first planning book in display mode, you will see that the data for Net Forecast looks "correct". However, this is not what is saved in livecache.
I suggest you try to check out your data using a planning book with no macros. You can also check out using RSA3 using the export datasource of your planning area. Both of these methods will show you what data was really saved in livecache. -
APO DP Unable to save negative forecast values
Hi,
We are not able to generate negative statistical forecast in our system in the background or in the foreground. When the system is supposed to generate negative values, we receive the message "Forecast will be negative". Our business requirement is to allow negative values to be generated.
I am using SCM7 EHP2. All key figures allow negative values to be entered, we did manual test entering data in the data view then saving -xx in cells and it works well. When background jobs are ran, the messages that are supposed to allow negative values are checked.
Any ideas?
Thanks,Hi Maxence,
I have had a similar requirement to see negative forecast.
Anyway, it seems it is a standard DP behaviour. Take a look this note.
1745808 - Negative forecast values set to zero
According to this note, If you do not want to set negatve forecast value to zero, you have to modify the standard program to set the global parameter GV_NEGATIVE_FORECAST in class /SAPAPO/CL_PE_FCS_SERVICE with value 'X'.

Function that zero out negative forecast in APO DP (SCM 4.0)
Hi,
I tried to look for a thread about the above function but I have no luck. Would you kindly share a light if you have come accross negative number being generated automatically? (no macro is set up for negating forecast)
This is the note that I would found from SAP help, but there is no actual direction to get it.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cf/d5e13ffb118f15e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Thanks
Anitait depends on the forecast strategy used....negative forecasts are automatically made zero by most strategies
some forecast strategy will generate negative forecasts ( am not sure which of them do).. but in that case you can use a macro to make it zero
I did not understand if you wanted Negative forecast or you want to zero out the negative ones
pl check link... http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a4/42e03fc2269615e10000000a155106/content.htm
SCM 5.0 has Planning area parameters that will enable you to not allow non-sero numbers in KF -
Hi,
I have released the forecast from DP to SNP. when i check that forecast in SNP planning book, i am not able to see any forecast in SNP planningbook. I have tried other Time bucket profile id but still i cant see forecast in planning book.
if anyone can give advice on this?
Thanks
Regards
Jignesh.Hi Jignesh,
You have to edit the category group associated with the keyfigure you are looking at.
The Tcode for the same is MSDP_admin. where you have to select the planning area and the key figures and have to check the categories added to the category group associated. the categories can be checked in the SPRO,
Hope this solves your problem,

Hello everyone,
We are facing an issue in handling reduction (Consumption of forecast after PGI of a Sales Order PGI) in APO for a unique business scenario. I would like to check with experts in SDN community about their experience of handling below scenario.
Business scenario and settings:
We use MRP strategy 10, with consumption mode 2 and backward and forward consumption periods. This enables consumption of forecast based on Sales order PGIs.
We release forecast from DP monthly bucket to Weekly buckets in SNP.
STEP 1
DP Monthly CDP 100
W1 W2 W3 W4
SNP weekly FCST 25 25 25 25 - (If we do PGI of 60, beginning of week 1),
Reduction will be 25 25 10
[Remaining Consensus Demand Plan (CDP) will be 40]
Above Scenario will translate into DP_SCHED table as three entries.
Reduction CDP
25 25
25 25
25 10
STEP 2
We have business process of adjusting forecast in current month as well using a KF called "Off cycle adjustments"
Say the new DP Monthly CDP is 80 -> (An off-cycle entry of -20 will reduce initial CDP of 100 to 80)
W1 W2 W3 W4
SNP weekly FCST 20 20 20 20 -> (Now if the same PGI of 60 stays),
Reduction will be 25 25 10
Remaining Forecast that APO shows will 30, Where as in reality it is just 20.
Even after above changes, the entries will remain same in DP_SCHED table as three entries (DP head is constant)
Reduction CDP
25 25
25 25
25 10
PGI reduction seems to be one time call as soon as PGI happens /Reversals happen based on /SAPAPO/CIF_IRQ_REDUCT_INBOUND.
SAP response is that Forecast changes in SNP for reduction using PGI will create inconsistences and SAP does not support it
Any suggestions on handling such scenarios will be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.Yes, this is a scenario that SAP does not support and unfortunately cannot support I remember that I have provided such reply to my customer ... (Maybe the reply mentioned in this post ... )
I'm interested to hear some ideas from our external consultant -
Hi Experts
Here is a scenario for which i need some help. We have multiple locations and these locations can be supplied by one or more distribution centers. The distribution centers need to be planned in APO, but the plants have to be MRP planned. So the scenrio is demand from multiple plants aggregating to distribution center A and demand from another bunch of plants aggregation to dc B. Apart from the demand from the plants the DC' also have their own demand .
I have maintained the hierarchy at material - DC level and I tried to plan the DC's using the SNP aggregate book. But the problem is DC's original demand gets overwritten with the demand from the individual plants. How do i overcome this issue. That is how do i make sure the aggregated demand is the sum of DC's original demand + demand placed by DC's on plants. I want to know if there is any straightforward way of achieving this before modifying the macros to the achieve the same.
Thanks
Saradha
Edited by: Saradha Ramesh on Sep 3, 2010 11:12 PMDatta
Yes the plants do not get planned in APO , only the DC's are APO planned. We run MRP at plant level to create STO's from DC to plants. And we forecast the material in DP (forecast for plants and DC's) and release the forecast to SNP. We transfer the supply / demand (SO's) / stock from R/3 to APO for the material ( plants and DC's transaction data ) . Now we know the net demand value at each plant. We roll up the net demand from the plants to the DC's by using the aggregation / hierarchies. Till this point everything is fine. But the issue arises when the net demand from the plants overwrites the DC's demand. That is the DC has 10 EA demand from the plants . The DC supplies to customer and the demand placed by customer on DC is say 5 EA. When i aggregate the demand , i should see 10 + 5 = 15 EA , but what i see is 10 EA . This is the issue
Thanks

Forecast Transfer to R/3 in Daily/Weekly buckets
Hi,
We have 2 planning areas in DP - Weekly and daily planning area. For the first 3 weeks, the forecast will be transferred to R/3 in daily buckets and for the remaining 2 weeks, the forecast will be transferred in weekly buckets. I have created 2 separate transfer profiles - one for daily transfer from the daily planning book and another one for weekly transfer from weekly planning book. When I run the forecast transfer from the daily planning book for the first 3 weeks, the forecast gets successfully transferred to R/3 Demand management. But, when I run the forecast transfer from the weekly planning book for Weeks 4 & 5, the forecast gets released successfully although it overwrites the previous forecast in daily buckets. Please bear in mind that the time periods for daily and weekly transfer are different. The same thing happens if I run the weekly transfer first and then do the daily transfer. For another location, we release the forecast to SNP in the same way and it works fine. Does anyone has any clues about this situation? Thanks.Hello,
The following are the planning book/data views that I am using to transfer forecast
Planning book2: Background Daily Planning book
Dataview2: Daily Forecast Transfer View
Time bucket profile: 21 days
Transfer profile: Daily Transfer profile (Released to active version A)
Activity: Daily Transfer Activity
Job: Daily Transfer Job (based on planing book2 and data view2)
Planning book1: Background Weekly Planning book
Dataview1: Weekly Forecast Transfer View (Offset field is set to 3 so that forecast could be transferred to weeks 4 & 5.
Time bucket profile: 2Weeks
Transfer profile: Weekly Transfer profile (Released to active version A)
Activity: Weekly Transfer Activity
Job:Weekly Transfer Job ( based on planing book1 and data view1)
Yes, I am transferring both the daily and weekly forecast to the same active version, but different time horizons. So, in order to do this, do I need to transfer to 2 different active versions. If this is the case, can DRP be able to use forecast from 2 active versions? -

Tables:
Tables where SALES ORDER Data is stored in APO
In addition to the requirements in SAP liveCache, the SD order tables are also included in the comparison with SAP R/3. Data is stored in these tables that is required for SAP APO functions from the area of Global ATP, such as the check against product allocations and backorder processing.
Both the existence and the consistency of the stored data is checked, based on the most important fields, as well as on the connection between main item(s) and subitem(s) in the following tables:
· /sapapo/posmapn (mapping the item)
· /sapapo/ordadm_h (order header)
· /sapapo/ordadm_i (order item)
· /sapapo/schedlin (order schedule line)
· /sapapo/obref (object reference)
· /sapapo/sdfield (SD order/delivery: Item additional data, also called 'field catalog')
· /sapapo/ciflooku (CIF lookup table)
The following inconsistencies can arise:
· r3obj : R/3 object of item in table /sapapo/posmapn
· atpcat: ATP category of item in table /sapapo/ordadm_i
· chmod: Check mode of item in table /sapapo/ordadm_i
· pstyv: Item category of item in table /sapapo/ordadm_i
· from_time: Schedule line date in table /sapapo/schedlin
· to_time: Schedule line date in table /sapapo/schedlin
· uepos: Assignment of higher-level (main) item
(Mapping in table /sapapo/posmapn and entry table in /sapapo/sdfield)
· wmeng: Requested quantity in table /sapapo/schedlin
· edatu: Requested delivery date in table /sapapo/schedlin
· obref: Object reference between order and delivery item in table /sapapo/obref
· matnr (MainItem)/matnrMItem: Product of main item in table /sapapo/ordadm_i
· werks (MainItem)/werksMItem: Plant of main item in table /sapapo/ordadm_i
· lgort (MainItem)/lgortMItem: Storage location of main item in table /sapapo/ordadm_i
· Account assignment (MainItem)/accMItem: The account assignment of the main item, that is, the pegging area from table /sapapo/ordadm_i does not correspond to the account assignment in SAP R/3 (vbap-sobkz, vbap-vbeln and vbap-posnr)

How to manually enter forcast/demand in SNP Planning Book
Hi experts,
Kindly help me there are two questions on my mind. First
1. How to create manually forecast in SNP planning book? and also in RRP3? (if the product is in house it automatically creates planned order, if externally procured PREQ but how about forecast using product view?
2. If the forecast is in the past but I want to upload that in the SNP Planning book?
Even if I change the period structure date it does not reflect the past dates in the planning book. Since the planning book of SNP is standard how am I be able to change the planning book time bucket start date.
Thanks and Best Regards!!!!Hi,
in /SAPAPO/SJKTST04 you set the type of order FCST, then you planning area and version, keyfigure to populate (your forecast keyfigure, probably 9ADFCST), the order type (usually FA)
In the details you set product, date to start, in horizon - the number of orders to create, if you set 10, you'll get 10 orders starting from your start date).
Unfortunately through here, you gan create orders with fixed quantity only and also for only one product/location combination.
If you already have DP available, even for testing I find it more easy to release forecast from there.
For your second question - at least for 4.1 (I don't have a 5.0 system to check) you cannot have past dates in a column other than "Initial"
Hope that helps,
br,

Release to SNP - period split profile doesn't work as expected
Hi Gurus,
I have a DP planning area with monthly storage buckets. I want to release to SNP using a period split profile that distributes the forecast equally to weeks. The problem is that the forecast is always completely released to the first working day in the month (and is not distributed as expected). Further information:
- using SAP SCM 7.0
- time stream in the storage bucket profile of the DP planning area = shipping calendar in the locations
- the simulation of the period split profile shows the expected behavior
Does anyone know what maybe went wrong?
Best regards,
ChristophHi Datta,
thanks for your quick reply. I found out that I entered the wrong from date for the release of forecast to SNP.
I used the beginning of the planning area time stream and not the current date. Therefore my settings in the split profile had no effect because the split would only have taken place somewhere in the past.
Best regards,

How Forecast Release and Consumption for Variant Configuration
Hi experts,
we are planning in our project how to Forecast Release and Consumption for Variant Configuration
can you explain me
Regards,
babuHi Sivaramakrishna,
We tried the same but what is complicating is having "market" attribute of customer in R/3 and planning forecast in DP at the "market" level. There is no customer as such in DP. THere is only market. We could release forecast at market leve using "consumption group". But I am trying to figure out how to have the sales orders consume forecast at the location, product and market level in SNP.
Today we have our sales orders to consume forecast in SNP at location-product level. we are trying to take this to "location-product-market" level in SNP.
I think we need to use some settings for characteristic based or variable consumption I think...but not clear.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks for taking time to reply.
