  • I downloaded and installed Windows Media Player for Firefox, why can I not play games?

I have done everything Firefox has told me, in order to play games. I cannot play games on msn, pogo, etc. The game loads, the screen changes and nothing happens. The screen stays blank.

Firefox can find plugins in several locations, and in most cases the paths are listed in the Windows registry. Firefox 21 changed the location of a "shared" plugin folder so those installers that do not include the path in the registry may strand the plugin in the obsolete location. The solution is in this article: [[Windows Media or other plugins stopped working after Firefox update]].

  • "Accessed denied" for Windows Media Player in Firefox for specific video

I get an "Access denied" error message after the video loads, it plays the intro video and the I get the error. Why?
    Specifically, here: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/video_player/popup.php?sid=6145418&pid=927204
The video will appear, show the intro, then give the "Access denied" error message. This happens to me in Firefox 1.5.

Install Flip4Mac WVM, http://www.flip4mac.com/, and see if that fixes the Safari problem. As I mentioned earlier, all trailers play without any problem.

  • Cannot play audio. website saysI should update media player for Firefox.

    http://www.3aw.com.au/blogs/3aw-sport-blog/ipl-fixing-arrests-taits-name-cleared/20130516-2jp58.html
This is the webpage I am trying to listen to the audio file.

hello VBLendahand, the site is requiring proprietary plugins to play this content, which are not available for android. please contact them and ask them to make their audio also available in the form of an html5 element in order to support mobile devices.

  • Windows Media Player not working in Firefox 7

This pertains to a beta Internet radio page at http://www.radiofreeneptune.com/ with Windows Media Player embedded in the page.
Prior to Forefox 7, browsing the page with Firefox had the correct media player interface appear (black, with blue buttons) as soon as the page loaded. Clicking on Play caused the music to play.
Having updated to Firefox 7, Firefox stops working for about a minute when the page is first accessed (it appears to be buffering a lot of audio). A crude Media Player interface finally appears. Audio starts playing immediately, even though the embedded control has it AutoStart set to false.
FireFox has the Microsoft Windows Media Player for Firefox 1.0.0.8 installed.
Any idea what might be causing this?
    Thanks.
    Jack

Try to remove the old (Npdsplay dll in the plugins list) WMP plugin in case that is used.
The embed for Firefox has autostart="1" not not autostart=false (0) like the object for IE.

  • Windows Media Player DLL is busy or not responding.

When I attempt to open a web page with Windows Media Player embedded, Firefox locks up for about 30 seconds, then a message appears that says "Windows Media Player is busy or not responding."
It offers to let me continue waiting, or stop the DLL.
If I continue waiting, the page eventually loads, and Firefox wakes up.
The embedded media player has a gray background and nasty-looking circa 1998 controls. (It used to have contemporary controls, resembling stand-alone media player.)
Embedded media player still works correctly with Internet Explorer, and shows the correct controls and user interface.
I've already set plugins.load_appdir_plugins to true - that wasn't it.
This seems to be a recent issue - earlier versions of Firefox handled the embedded media player fine.
    I have npdsplay.dll version 3.0.2.629 and np-mswmp.dll 1.0.0.8 installed.
    Thanks.

    Hello JacksBack,
Some plugins that are no longer maintained, like the Windows Media plugin, have their files installed in a place that Firefox no longer supports.

  • Windows Media plugin for firefox loads but does not play

    Hi,
I am facing problems using windows media plugin on firefox as well as other browsers as well. I guess the problems would lie on the windows media plugin.
Few weeks back, I do not have any problems running windows media player on firefox, however I am unable to do so now. I am able to load the plugin but I cannot play it. I tried testing the plugin on the site below. Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
You can try to fully trust Firefox + its sub processes/files in the security software (antivirus and firewall). You can also try to '''Disable''' other possibly conflicting '''Plugins''' in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. You could also uninstall it from the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features and [www.interoperabilitybridges.com/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download reinstall it].

  • Windows media player plugin is not working in firefox 4.if any one know what to do pls reply me

MY FRIEND SUGGESTED THIS TO ME
    I HAVE TRIED THIS
    BUT ITS WASTE
I CANT EVEN FIND ANYTHING AS
    WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER
I have had the same problem since I installed Firefox 4.0.
Thank you for letting us know that The RealPlayer plugin conflict, was the source of this problem.
Another way to fix this (for good) is doing the following:
    1) Click on "Tools">Options"
    2) Click on the "Applications" tab
    3) Search in the "Content Type" column, all the applications that start with the words "Windows Media." Click on the content that is listed to the right of each application's name and choose "Use Windows Media Player (default)."
By doing this, Firefox will avoid using the Windows Media Player plugin and will open the corresponding application directly with Windows Media Player.
I just did this and is working perfectly. Try it and let me know how it works for you.

I just saw this posted to the mozilla.support.firefox newsgroup in the topic,<br>

You probably have not seen anyone reporting the exact same problem as you. All three crash reports have the same crash signature and as currently ranked 67 it is not the commonest of reasons for a crash.
I hope you enter your email contact information when reporting crashes. I note you see this crash when using videos, others may possibly see this crash in other circumstances.
You have already tried the obvious, attempts at a fix so it is now down to wait and see, maybe developers working on the bug will report something or fix it.
Did you try my suggestion of installing portable ESR ?

  • Firefox 6.0 w/ win media player plugin 1.0.0.8 enabled ALWAYS asks if I want to open a .wmv file with Win Media Player.

Firefox 6.0 would not open .wmv files, so I downloaded and installed M/S windows media player firefox plugin, ver 1.0.0.8.
I have checked using the plugin mgr that it is installed and enabled, but firefox still will not open .wmv files - It still brings up a window asking if I want to use Win Media Player to open the file.

  • Windows Media Player, since installing Firefox 4 I cannot click on a link in my website to play a video. I have gone through the procedure for downloading the new plug in and it still won't play this is the link I downloaded from

    http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download
I then shut down firefox and tried again the video is enbeded in my website as an .asx file. It concerns me that others cannot see it either.
It is also a link in my email
It was fine in previous version of firefox

Sorry to hear about your problems. For a long time I and a colleage were having an issue with our MBP's. When we closed the lid, we thought it was going to sleep, then and hour later when you opened it, it would be all hot and the battery was drained etc. Turns out it wouldn't go to sleep. For a while we remedied the problem by going to the apple menu and hitting sleep then shutting the lid, but after some process of elimination, it turned out that a little freeware app called Desktopple that we used in presentations and etc. . . was the culprit. as soon as I took that app off, Both of our machines started sleeping like babies!!!
Morale of the Story! Sometimes it's a 3rd party app causing the problem.
Desktopple worked fine until one of the OSX updates happened, then it started causing this problem. My suggestion is that you disable these small freeware type apps one by one until you find the source of the problem.
I have a hard time believing that you were given 3 lemons in a row. It's gotta be something that your running.
