Neo platinum not booting with all in wonder?

I've got a k8n neo platinum with a 2800+, a gig of crucial pc3200, an Antec sonata with it's True380S powersupply, and an ATI all in wonder 9700 pro.
The first time i booted it, the fans spun for a second, then they shutoff, thats all the happened.  Nothing on the screen, just 4 green lights on the D-bracket for the time that the fans are on.  I later replaced the VGA with an old Nvidia Geforce MX i had lying around.  It booted fine, so I installed XP and the minimal stuff.  I also installed MSI's chipset GART vga drivers, and tried to install the AIW again.  It booted perfectly, so i assumed the problem was over and installed ATI's catalyst and the appropriate software that came with it.  Upon restart after the installations, nothing happened.  Same problem as original.  So after i switched it out for the nvidia again, i tried a system restore back to when i had it working, but it still didn't work.  Can anyone help me as to whats wrong?   I've checked the bios and as far as i know it seems ok, i'm going to flash it in a little bit.
Thanks,
Bill

Have you got the USB connecter to the Antec sonata  front panel. If so this may be the cause of your problem.if your front usb does NOT work with your k7n2 board read this...  Don't worry that it's not your mobo the MSI pin outs to the USB plug are common.

  • K8N Neo4 Platinum not booting

Hi I just moved my fully working K8N Neo4 Platinum based setup from one case to another, and now it's not booting. All fans are starting but the USB D-bracket 2 shows LED's 1 and 4 yellow and 2 and 3 red and the computer hangs. I can't seem to find this LED combination in the manual where it's only supposed to show green and red lights. Anyone got any idea of what's wrong?
    Thanks

Okay I'll try to be more specific, the thing that makes me clueless is that the rig has been working flawlessly before.
    CPU/Memory:
    AMD Athlon64 Venice 90nm 3500+ 2.2GHz
2x512 MB OCZ DDR PC-4000 Gold VX (500 Mhz, 2-2-2-8)
I've tried unmounting every single component and mounting it back on again. I've tried both memory sticks in a single slot but no luck.
The PSU it's been running on is an Antec True380SP 380W (included in Antec Sonata case), yes 380W is a bit low so i tried a beefier PSU as well (Antec True430P 430W) with the same result.
    Max Amperage:
    Antec True430P 430W -- +3.3V = 28A, +5V = 36A, +12V = 20A
    Antec True380SP 380W -- +3.3V = 28A, +5V = 35A, +12V = 24A
    HDD:
    Western Digital Raptor WD740ADFD 74Gb 10000rpm 16Mb cache SATA connected to SATA1
All fans power up, Power LED lights up and HDD powers up, but no VGA signal. I've reset CMOS and I've read through the stickies and tried the fixes there applicable to my problems, but no luck so far. Only thing I can think of that haven't tried is switching the CMOS battery.

  • T400 not booting at all.

My T400 is not booting at all.
When I power it on, no matter it's on AC or battery, it just shows the boot screen
Black Screen with Thinkpad written (in BIG white letters).
and "To Interrupt normal setup, press the blue ThinkVantage button"
I tried pressing Thinkvantage button nothing happened.
I also tried pressing all function Keys, from F1 to F12... nothing happened
I am not too sure what went wrong, I am on travel and needed my laptop badly.
not sure what to do can anybody help me please.
    System Configuration:
    T400, 2 GB RAM,
    Windows XP SP3,
Just one Partition on hard disk C drive.
    How did this happen:
I am also not too sure but I remember few things that I did last, and mentioning them here,
not too sure if this has got something to with the problem that I am facing...
    1. I compressed my C drive.
    2. I had hibernation enabled ...disabled it...shutdown-ed the machine
    3. Next time when i rebooted machine..i was in flight....I  did work that i wanted to do ,,then enabled hibernation...
        and hiberanted...
    4. Before hibernation could have completed .... i closed the flap..and kept it in bag...
    5. later on when i powered it on ...its not booting at all

I don't tell what caused your problem ( there are more knowledgable people here for it) but it is not wise to do these alterations you mention on a trip - better try things at home with a recent backup

  • HP G62 Will Not Boot With Power Cord Plugged In

I have an HP G62 laptop that is about four years old. I've had a couple of problems with it before that were resolved relatively satisfactorily, however five or six months ago I started having a new issue. The laptop will not boot with the charging cord plugged in, whether there is a battery in it or not. Nor will it return from sleep mode (screen black, status light on the power button flashing) with the charging cord plugged in, whether there is a battery in it or not. It simply shuts down and I end up with an error screen the next time I boot up. I have tried other charging cords and it has been the same, however the cord will still charge the battery. This means I have to charge the battery, unplug the cord, boot up the computer. This annoyance is worsened by the fact that the battery  is old and unable to  hold charge for very long at all and I fear one day even the battery won't be enough to boot the computer. Can I fix the power cord issue? Should I buy a new battery? Or let my computer give up the ghost and scrounge for a new one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the charger input could possibly need replaced and/or the charger

  • I have reset my ipad using General Reset Erase All Content and Settings. And now it will not boot. All i see on screen is the Apple logo. What do i do?

I have reset my ipad using General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. And now it will not boot. All i see on screen is the Apple logo. What do i do?

When you restore, you can restore to factory settings or to a backup. Restoring to factory settings removes everything and takes you back to out of the box status and you start all over again. Restoring from your backup will replace all of your app data, bookmarks, email settings and things like that. You still may need to sync all of your purchased apps and music, photos and so on back to the iPad.
I assume you want to restore from your backup to put all of you data back on the device so connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes, right click on the device name on the left side under the devices heading and select restore from backup. After you restore from your backup, make sure that you sync all of your other content with iTunes.

  • "The SPListItem being updated was not retrieved with all taxonomy fields." Exception while updating a taxaonomy field

    Hi All,
I'm getting this exception "The SPListItem being updated was not retrieved with all taxonomy fields." when i try to programatically update a taxonomy field of a list item. Can any1 pls tell me why this exception occurs ???

Recently hit this myself, as well.  Turns out it's a central admin setting that throttles the lookup return count, and Taxonomy fields are just lookups under the hood.
Go into Central Administration, Manage Web Applications, select your web application, and then in the ribbon choose the dropdown under General Settings select Resource Throttling.  Find the setting for "List View Lookup Threshold" and raise
it from the default 8 (can go up to 1000, but 20 is likely fine depending how many lookup fields you're pulling back in your SPListItem).

HP Pavilion Slimline s3707c PC will not boot up all the way; gives the following message:
    Entering Setup

    <Esc=Boot Menu>                 <F9=Diagnostics>
Tried to install recovery disc; did not respond.
    [Personal Information Removed]

    Hi wjackson95,
When you get to the screen mentioned below, can you press the F11 key to enter the Recovery system that is on the hard drive? Alternatively, if you can press F10, you can go into the BIOS and change your boot order to put your disc drive before the hard drive so that the PC boots to your Recovery discs. NOTE: You may have to press F10 or F11 multiple times to get it at the right time.
You might consider opening your PC to see if it has dust buildup. If your PC has overheated, it can cause it to not boot. It can also cause heat damage to the interal parts.

  • More detail and a reply for the CQ50 - 130US will not boot with 8gb ram post

The specs, on the web site say that the  max memory supported is 3GB DDR2 because the notebook was built with the OS Vista(32 bit) installed so that’s why the manual has the 3 GB max. memory supported limit. The 32 bit OS can’t address memory over 3.12 GB.   To my mind that is not a spec. but rather a tech. writer who made a mistake and copied the sales literature.  With Windows 7(64 bit) Pro. installed the OS can address up to192GB of memory if the system supports it.  Other Compaq and HP Notebooks can deal with 8GB of memory installed. That’s why I would think HP’s could easily fix this with a patch or use one of their other BIOS’s.
The difference between 4GB and 6GB is that with 6GB system runs faster and the display quality has improved.  I have set the cache size to large and the executive paging is set to off in the registry. The menu(System Properties - Performance Options – Advanced – Virtual Memory) is set to automatically manage the paging file size.

You should keep it in the original; thread you started.

  • MBP15 1.83 GHz Will Not Boot With 3GB Upgrade

I'm trying to increase my MBP's ram to the 3GB limit. This is a 1.83 GHz 15" model.
It will not boot with 2GB & 1GB sticks of identical mfg & specs. It will boot with one or the other...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Stradioti

    Hi
according to the Apple specs for the 1.83GHz mbp's - 2Gig of memory is the limit......
512MB (single SODIMM) of PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 memory on 1.83GHz configuration; and 1GB (single SODIMM) on 2.0GHz configuration; two SODIMM slots support up to 2GB
    Crucial Memory says the same.

  • K9AGM3-F does not boot with PCIe 4x device in PCIe 16x slot

K9AGM3-F motherboard does not boot with PCIe 4x Intel PRO/1000 PT dual port network interface card installed into PCIe 16x slot on motherboard. The boot process stops in BIOS screens. The motherboard works flawlessly without this NIC. K9VGM-V + Intel PRO/1000 PT boot successfully. I tried three K9AGM3-F motherboards and two Intel PRO/1000 PT NICs in different combinations, the results are always the same. It appears to be some kind of BIOS problem.

Minor point, probably irrelevant: I said you install the driver f i r s t. Then you put the physical card in.
The driver is completely irrelevant because the driver is a part of operating system, but as I already wrote before the boot process stops long before the OS start.
Quote from: Fredrik Åsenius on 09-April-08, 22:52:27
    No stability issues otherwise?
PSU is always good to know.
The PSU is irrelevant too because the same NICs work in the PCIe 1x slot of the same motherboard with the same PSU.
