Neo V Downgrade to GB

I am using Neo V. I was having ICS but had to downgrade to GB due to bootloop issue in Bluetooth operation.
I have flashed 4.0.2.A.0.42 of GB but unable to root the phone using "zergRush" method.
Please guide for rooting the phone..

Lion OS X interfering with Microsoft Word and Entourage

I downloaded Snow Lwopard and then Lion so I can utilize Cloud and now my 3 Microsoft programs won't open: Word, Entourage and Powerpoint. Any ideas why and how can I go back to the way it was?

Upgrade your Office 2004 to Office 2011. Your version is PPC-only which is no longer supported in Lion. If you don't want to spend the money on the upgrade then you have these other options you can consider.

Downgrade back to Snow Leopard:
Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

WiFi Problem NEO V even after downgrade

now i downgraded my Neo V from ICS to GB 2.3.4 and guess what !!!!!, i have the same Wi-Fi problem, i still can't see and connect on 90% of the serounded networks, so now i have to live with it !!!!!???
i think the phone is harmed, and i think thats the problem. sony didn't just release a bad ICS rom, but also the phone it self is effected

i am glad that i went there! really i am, they come clean from the begining,
1) then don't support ICS till now.
2) they only can downgrade to 2.4.5
3) they have no idea about when the ICS problem will be fixed (but they also tell me that there are customer happy with it).
4) i can't leave my phone as i have work calles to do at night so they dongraded the phone but they didn't try the wireless yet as they need time, so they informed me to try it my self and if there is a problem i can come back but i should leave my phone to be tested.
i have the phone now but i still didn't check the wirless problem, my home network was working on ICS so i will wait till tomorrow so that i can check many routers as i will be at work.
the thing is:- i love ICS layout and sittings, new options but after the SC handed the phone to me i sense the deference in the touch , respond , and the speed of the phone.
i will report tomorrow after i test the wireless. i wish to works

Root Neo V on 4.0.4 (without downgrad)

If any one can help with rooting Neo v 4.0.4, without downgrading, some ppl talking about some tools but i can find nothing, i am still on 2.3.4 and i love my phone beeing rooted, so i want to find a rooting tool befor i update to 4.0.4,

K8N NEO Platinum Bios Update - Memory Downgrade

I have a K8N NEO Platinum MOBO, 2 GIG Ram with 1G in Each Dimm 1 and Dimm 2, Dimm 3 is empty. I have updated my bios from 1.7 to 2.1... With 1.7 my RAM runs at DDR400 no problem just like manual says. With 1.8, 1.9 or 2.1 I can only get DDR333???? What gives, anyone have the same problem.
Patriot DC DDR400 PC3200 2-3.2-5 Low Latency HP ram.

Unable to install windows XP på MSI K8N NEO

Hi!
I have problems installing windows XP (SP1) with MSI K8N NEO Platinum Edition. After I bootet my computer (I build it myself) I noticed I had extrem cpu temperatures (65-70 degrees celcius). A quick search on the net indicated that a bios-upgrade might solve the problem, as my current bios probably showed too high temperatures.
As I had already installed windows XP i downloaded the bios and upgraded using the msi-windows-bios program. And, after the reboot my cpu temerature was 20 degrees lower (45 degrees celcius), which is more normal. But during the bootup of windows I got a blue-screen (or, actully a blue blink, just for a nano-second), and then my computer rebooted.
As the system were fairly new and didn't contain any importaint data, I decided to try to make a fresh install of winXP. But now I get a blue-screen during the installation, when the progress-bar says "installing devices", the blue screen appears when it is about 75%.
The installation of XP went fine before the bios upgrade, and I used XP for several hours without any problems at all - except the high cpu temperatur. Now my cpu temeperatur is acceptable, but XP wont install/boot.
I have tried to disable all the integraded devices (such as firewire, network, sound card etc) in the bios menu, but the XP install still provides a bluescreen during the installation of devices.
My system:
A64 3000+
1024Mb RAM (corsair value, I believe)
Samsung SATA 160Gb HD
Matrox Millenium G400 (I know it is old)
NEC 2510 DVD Burner
As I said, this is propably caused by the new bios, as it did work with the old one. I have also tried "Load failsafe defaults". Do you guys have any ideas of how to fix this? Should I (can I) downgrade my bios (I do not have a floppy drive in the computer).

I recently aquired a MSI K8N Neo2 from Komplett - where did you get yours from? maybe that have a bad batch because I am seeing the same problems as you.
I have two different problems , the same stability problems you are seeing and problems with the keyboard (ps2) not always starting up. I'm currently at Bios V1 and after seeing your problems I might just wait with V1.1 unless everything else fails.
Im considering an RMA to komplett soon and asking them for a motherboard that works (maybe from another manufacterer).
I have a decent PSU (Antec Truepower 480) and DDR400 from Kingston thats on their reccommended list, no overclocking, stable settings, I built the thing with ESD protection and carefully. Not overly impressed right now.
Some suggestions - turn off AGP Fastwrite, turn on SATA DMA access if you are using SATA. Turn off any Overclocking, move your memory around , try just one stick in DIMM 1 see if that helps.
I finally managed to get through an XP install but it took 6 hours to install. And it will occasionally stutter then shutdown entirely.

I'll let you know if I see anything about rooting .62 w/o unlocking the bootloader, just consider downgrading and if you do want to downgrade just backup your current firmware it's all explain in my thread

before i say anything, here's the specs:

bios i *believe* it's V1.1 released on 4/2/01 (came on the board) never updated it because it was rock solid and since the newcastle temp issue still isn't quite fixed

i followed some advice here (especially the psu debate) and built this march fourth, and it has been rock solid till about 2 or 3 weeks ago. i was playing the farcry demo and the system reboots. it happened again today while surfing and i'm kinda baffled as to why. in both cases the electricity didn't go out, and my ups didn't beep. it simply makes the sound it always does when it powers off and instantaneously comes back on. (there seems to be no delay) as you can see my psu has more than enough amps and wattage to run the little that i am. no case lights just 2 120mm fans. i ran memtest 86+ when i assembled it in march and no errors after many passes. so i have absolutly no idea what is going on.
anyone have any ideas? i'd rather not flash the bios if i don't have to, as it seems it's the luck of the draw if it works or not on a fsr

ok i thought i had it figured out but it just happened again. i was using the radeon drivers from hell (cat. 4.6, the one that hosed a lotta boxes) so i downgraded to 4.4 (i'm on dialup, so i get every other driver release) and i had no reboot issues for weeks, but it just happened again. i checked out a number of things, including my u.p.s and think that it is either my mobo or psu.
has anyone had any problems with capacitors on their amd64 board? i'm thinking it's possible the psu is resetting because it's getting a false power off signal from the board. possibly due to the caps not haviing quite the right capacitance (electrolyte not quite right) it's not a "soft" reset because the you can hear the psu switching. so mabie it's an over-voltage / wrong signal issue?
has anyone had problems with their enermax psu? i know a few of you have them here because i took your suggestions when the big debate 6 months ago was about which psu to get. any voltage drops/spikes/other abnormalities that have caused any problems?

K8N Neo CPU buzzing after latest bios update

I'm running the K8N Neo Platnum Edition with an Athlon64 3400+ and have been thrilled with the performance and the quiet nature of the system... until now. I upgraded the bios to 1.5 and now I hear an annoying buzz coming from somewhere near the CPU. I have stopped all of the fans and touched all of the coils around the CPU and nothing seems to diminish the sound.
I have found two ways to alter the sound. 1) if I scroll the mouse wheel when viewing a web page it goes completely silent. 2) setting the FSB to about 215... but then my computer locks up soon thereafter. The sound starts as soon as the first XP loading screen appears. I've updated the video drivers (ATI Radeon 9600) for what that's worth.
It's pretty much driving me crazy and I'd really like my old bios and silent computer back. Anybody have any thoughts or is anyone experiencing this too?

Exactly same problem here too.
No matter which bios i use, the high pitch noise is coming from the mofset area (coils).
The sound starts on bootlogo here as well. What i found interesting is, that there's no buzz in DOS !
It starts when winXP is loading drivers. WEIRD.
I tried to nail-vanish the coils onf first board - didnt help. Vanish fried after few days.
I RMA'd the board for other reason (dead mobo) and i got new one.
But the problem still presist.
I used clockgen to downgrade the CPU to 1V and like 700mhz. Absolutely no buzz. That means higher HTT + higher voltage = louder noise. Try on your own.
I'm running 8,5*308(2618mhz) @ 1.65v. Rock stable but the noise is driving me crazy.
The sound is coming from the mofset area (different source tho i guess) also in 3D. It's not the graphics card...
It's not PSU either. I tried like 7 of them.
This board is great, i love my overclock, but it just do high pitch noise.
I paid like 300USD for great quiet non-audible cooling, my PC doesnt do any noise. The only thing i hear is whining motherboard.

Sony! upgrade or downgrade?

A lot of problem appear after i upgrade my xperia neo v. Game lag which i could play smooth with 2.3.4. led notification malfunction. wifi reception weak like hell. battery 20% to 0%. i am not sure izit an upgrade or downgrade. dissapointed to sony! I have been long time loyalty to Sony brand. I believe in you all. But now? Dont think so! Solve the PROBLEM! And stop tell me go to the router change the security or whatever. do i really need to ask the boss in starbuck or the head in college to change their wifi security setting just for MY NEO V CANT CONNECT THE WIFI? What you can do is to try to reinstall the phone software using SUS.

Flashing stuck at 13%, xperia Neo V [Urgent Help pls]

Hello guys, i had finally made up my mind to root my xperia neo V, i learnt that i have to "Downgrade to 0.42" version and then root my phone, so i downloaded .42 firmware and latest version of Flashtool i.e 0.9.1.0 , i did all steps correclty, checked all checkboxes correctly, at 13% that flashing is simply stuck, no messages nothing,
so i tried with another version of Flashtool, i,e 0.6.8.0, but that also went in Vain, same stuck at 13%, this is the log,
it gets stuck at system.sin,
i tried checking, 'Exclude System' and then flashed, then it gets flashed upto 100%, but while booting phone is stuck @ 'Sony Logo',
another thing i want to tell is, "Already when i bought this phone it had .62 version installed in it, no .42" , it this the reason for not successful flashing?
my phone is completely dead guys, please help me ASAP, pleading you all, please.

[MSI K8T NEO]unable to change cas tRAS timings

i have the foll motherboard:
MS-6702 (K8T Neo-FIS2R) with amd 64 2800+
and am using 2.5cl ddr 400 256mb ram manufactured by twinmos....
for some reason i am unable to change the cl timings in the bios...
i meant i am able to change it but on reboot the post displays it as the old config no matter what i do...

i fixed it by downgrading from bios 2.20 to 2.00 thanks anyway...

K8t neo fis2r- CMOS settings are wrong!

First I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to help me resolve my problem. My current system specs are as follows:
MSI k8t neo fis2r mobo
AMD athlon 64 3200+ (clawhammer I believe)
2x 512 MB Corsair Xtreme XMS Memory
Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb
80gb Samsung HDD
600W Xconnect PSU
After having problems with my computer not loading windows I downgraded my bios from v 2.2 to 1.9 because I heard that versions higher than 1.9 may have problems with my older clawhammer cpu core. The bios flash worked in that I can now start up my computer if I reset CMOS and load default settings. However when I load my computer this way my Core Center is displaying my Vcore at around 1.1v. 3.3v is at around 3.41, 5v is at around 5.1, 12v is at around 12.1v. In the past I needed to manually set my Vcore under bios at 1.4v or 1.5v to get it to start, and when I started it that way Core Center correctly displayed the 1.4 or 1.5vcore and stated that my computer was running at 2000Mhz. Now my computer is running at 1.1vcore and 800 MHz. If I clear cmos and enter setup to try to change my vcore to 1.4 my computer will hang after the save and exit just as if I had restart my computer without clearing the CMOS. I have tried changing the mobo battery, which did not do anything. Its odd, if I choose to load default settings and continue, my computer will start up and is entirely stable. If I choose to enter setup however and choose to load default settings and then save and exit, my computer will hang just as if I did not reset CMOS to begin with.
I really do not know what to do here. I was thinking about trying something like this http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalCPUID/index-e.html to up my vcore after I get my computer started so that I can play my games without the low fps I am currently getting. I know this fix would not get my computer to start up without resetting CMOS, but would it work as a temporary solution?

Anyway, I found a program called RightMark CPU clock Utility that has enabled me to get my 2000 MHz out of my cpu by setting FID to 10.0x and VID to 1.550v
With these settings Rightmark is reporting an idle cpu temp of around 31 C, but when I get in a game like world of warcraft the temp will go all the way up to around 90 C, which I feel is incorrect. Ive had my computer become very unstable in the past when the temp got near 65-70C. It seems to be perfectly stable at the moment, even under the high loads of world of warcraft. Do you have any thoughts on this?

965 Neo flash gone wrong

Hello.
I bought an msi 965F Neo to use with my e6600. I had some Ram problems with the corsair 5400 1gbx2 chips. I upgraded to v1.5 and i had some issues again. I changed my Ram to some kingston chips. The pc wouldn't boot into windows, nor let me setup them again as it freezed always in the same position in the setup.
So i thought it would be better if i downgraded it. I made a bootable disk with the v1.4 bios and used it. The process of downgrading stopped. I don't know if it had finished or not, but the pc stayed there freezed. Now it wouldn't post or anything. Just the lights on the case operate.
Any help?

It sadens me to inform you that you bought the most worhless PSU that exists. These things cause nothing but trouble. My advice: take it out of your pc and find a large sledge-hammer and start enjoying yourself...
Really, I've seen too many people with all kind of weird problems and a Q-Tec installed. It's no good at all. They're unstable, bad performers and not safe. I've seen a few boards that were connected to a Q-Tec and were burnt out completely....
Do us and yourself a HUGE favor: Replace your Q-Tec with something good.
NOTE: In case your PSU is made by Q-Technologies, it's not so bad. If it says Q-Tec, it is.
