Neophyte needs help avoiding file name conflicts!
My companion and I share a single computer with a single copy of PSE7. We use nearly identical cameras (Fuji FinePix E series 510 and 550). Both cameras use the same system for assigning file names. As a consequence when we up load from our respective cards and the names are the same for different photos only the first in goes into the organizer. We have just discovered the problem. I'm embarrassed to admit the discovery comes almost four and one half years late. I had tried to create stand-by copies to CD but the same problem may exist there.
Can I massage the file names to distinguish "his from hers". If so at what point. What can I do about making the same discrimination with the photos already on the hard drive? Perhaps Bob... as opposed to Katie...?
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. I'm now sitting on two 1G cards for my camera and one for hers trying to determine how to handle the problem.
Thanks,
ibbobby
Hi,
Use APD to download photos from your cameras, and while downloading specify the Rename Files option (Probably Bob_<ShotDate>).
This will create unique file names and all the files will then get imported into Organizer.
Alternatively, if you have only jpeg files, you can stamp the file with Author/Copyright metadata in APD. When this value is provided, all the files with get imported in Organizer.
Thanks/Tarun

Need help getting files names from directory
I have never done anything in php before and I'm struggling.
In an attempt to search through potential document names in a directory, I've added the following code to a new php document:
<?php
if ($handle = opendir('.')) {
while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle))) {
if ($file != "." && $file != "..") {
echo "$file\n";
closedir($handle);
?>
with no luck. When executed all I get is a blank screen. Any ideas why?
End goal is to list the file names in the directory so that the user can choose to open desired document. Thanks!Click here and pick the option which best fits your situation.

I am setting up a new iMac and need help syncing files to Dropbox. On my old computer I had it set where when I saved a document, it was saved on my hard drive, as well as to a folder in Dropbox. I can't remember how I set this up. Any help?
The way that Dropbox works is that it keeps a copy of all your files in your local Dropbox folder on your hard drive (which is, by default, directly under your home folder). Adding files to that folder will sync them to the Dropbox server.
You do of course have to download the Dropbox application to enable this (download link at the top right of http://dropbox.com ).

Need Help With File Matching Records
I need help with my file matching program.
Here is how it suppose to work: FileMatch class should contain methods to read oldmast.txt and trans.txt. When a match occurs (i.e., records with the same account number appear in both the master file and the transaction file), add the dollar amount in the transaction record to the current balance in the master record, and write the "newmast.txt" record. (Assume that purchases are indicated by positive amounts in the transaction file and payments by negative amounts.)
When there is a master record for a particular account, but no corresponding transaction record, merely write the master record to "newmast.txt". When there is a transaction record, but no corresponding master record, print to a log file the message "Unmatched transaction record for account number ..." (fill in the account number from the transaction record). The log file should be a text file named "log.txt".
Here is my following program code:

I am not sure what is wrong with my code above to make my results different from the correct results.
Much help is appreciated. Please help.From the output, it looks like one problem is just formatting -- apparently you're including a newline in log entries and not using tabs for the newmast output file.
As to why the numbers are off -- just from glancing over it, it appears that the problem is when you add multiple transaction values. Since account.combine() is so simple, I suspect that you're either adding creating transaction objects incorrectly or not creating them when you should be.
Create test input data that isolates a single case of this (e.g., just the Mary Smith case), and then running your program in a debugger or adding debugging code to the add/combine method, so you can see what's happening in detail.
Also I'd recommend reconsidering your design. It's a red flag if a class has a name with "Create" in it. Classes represent bundles of independant state and transformations on that state, not things to do. -
File name conflict in File Download filter in Policy Studio

Need to validate file Name,split the file name and store the splited values into Variables
Dear All,
Below is the my requirement.
I have a folder, in that folder I have bunch of text files. The file name is below format
ACA_122_pay_20140430_001
Initially the file name start with ACA code,groupid,group name and date time stamp. This is the standard structure of file name.
I want to check each and every file in the folder with this structure. The structure should be standard for all the files. If the structure same for all files I need to get codes form file name. For example
If you see the below file name, I need to get ACA and put into variable,I need to get 122 and put into variable. For group name and date time needs to put in variable.
If the file format is not valid state then I need to log exception.
Let me know if I am not clear.
Kindly provide the C# code for achieving the above requirement.
As I am new to .net programming. kindly help me.
Thanks in Advance,
Regards,

hello to all,
i have to save a file with a string..,with results of a test
the file name must include time and date of my test, and has to append 2 underscore if my test failed
some idea?
Using LabVIEW 7.1gigi85 wrote:

It is all right there in the online help: time format strings.
In this case use <%b> and optionally convert it to upper case.

Need to reference file name within the XML Output
Not sure if this is possible, as I'm new to the livecycle/XML world. But I need to be able to reference a file within the XML output from the PDF.
The Scenario is that a pdf form of a business card will be issued to 50 franchisees for them to type in their names and mobiles, click submit and the XML file to be sent to myself, and be imported in to InDesign populating their data ready for printing. Up to here I have it working perfectly.
However as each franchisee have a combination of up to 5 logos to place in the bottom corner to save having to have various templates with different combinations of logos and having to ensure the correct templates are used. I intend to reference each companies combination as an EPS and make the reference within the xml out and have it import directly in with the other data. I can type the code directly within the xml but I would like to have the form reference it directly in the xml output. Is this possible or am expecting to much of livecycle? Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

PHP disaster with entropy installation need help with file location
I have a mac mini snow leopard server running 10.6.5 ,and I was trying to resolve a mcrypt module issue so that I could install wordpress and magento on some of our sites.After doing what I thought was extensive research, I decided to download the entropy php 5.30-3pkg from Marc Liyanage since it was already compiled and had an automatic install.I had the xcode tools installed and was going to attempt to compile it myself,but did not quite understand the instructions on Michael Gracie's site.When I installed the entropy package it told me that i needed to first disable the existing module,and I attempted to uncheck the php5 module,with no luck,as every time I tried to save it it rechecked itself,which I later discovered was happening because of dependency issues, as I had the mail,wiki,etc services on the sites checked. So my problem is that I wasn't aware at the time of the dependency issue,and I just renamed the module and the file name by putting a # in front of both (Inside the server admin dialog box through the pop up window).I didn't think it would hurt since is was going to be disabled,but now i get blank pages when trying to connect,and can't even see a test.php file, nor can I even locate where they say:
software is supposed to be installed into a new directory /usr/local/php5 on my boot volume. If you ever want to get rid of the package, you only have to remove this directory and a symbolic link called +entropy-php.conf in either /etc/apache2/sites or /etc/apache2/other, depending on whether you run OS X Client or Server.
Any help would be appreciated !Thank you so much, that works just like i wanted it to as it downloads the file but then i have the problem of the file being called firename.png (or whatever i put in there instead)
using this i changed the code and made it this instead which works 100%
set download to text returned of (display dialog "Enter IGN" default answer "" buttons {"Download", "Cancel"} default button 1)
set the destination to (choose folder)
do shell script "curl -L http://minecraft.net/skin/" & download & ".png" & " -o " & quoted form of ((POSIX path of the destination) & download & ".png")
so i used the input name again with download and added a .png for the extention and now it downloads the file to the locaiton i specify with the name of the user im entering with the correct exention, 100% awesome ^^
Thank you everyone who help me with that issue, grately appreshiated -
i have a brand new MuVo n200
i need help, i put my cd's in and everyhting and i filled it with songs ans i can play them and everything, but i hate thats itssorted in ABC order. i cannot figure how to put them so it is in order by the CD or the bandname.
please help.
message me on aim if you want [email][email protected]][email protected][/url]To group the songs into albums or artist groups, I would definitely suggest putting all the tracks from each album/group in its own folder on your PC and put the folder on the muvo in just the same way as you would put a single mp3. The player (in normal play mode) will then play each folder all the way through before moving on to the next one alphabetically (or numerically, if you put numbers at the start of the folder names) and you can then use 'skip folder' to skip through to find the particular album or artist you're looking for. Play around with the shuffle modes too - you can shuffle within folders or just shuffle everything if you want.
Tracks will normally be played alphabetically. To get them to play in order of track number, put numbers at the beginning of each file name. E.g.: file 'examplesong.mp3' would become '0_ examplesong.mp3' If you've got tonnes of songs and you're worried about it taking ages, the computer will do it for you! Click on 'my computer', then click on 'Muvo N200 media explorer'.. This shows the contents of your player. Choose a folder to reorder the songs in and click on it to display the songs. In the pictures along the top of the window, 4th from the right is an icon with a downward facing arrow and an A above a Z. Click on this, it's called 'custom sort'. You can then use the arrows at the bottom to change the order of your tracks to how you want them. Click OK, and they'll all be numbered in that order!
For instructions on how to create folders in mediasource, read the thread in this link:
http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=926
I don't think you can put folders within folders in the muvo, but just the one layer really helps organisation.
Hope that helps!

PS- scroll down in the thread in the link: Jeremy CL was nice enough to give pictures in his instructions! If you'd like more help, type 'create folders' or something into the forum search as there's probably quite a lot of advice kicking about here!Message Edited by flaneur on 03-27-2005 :8 PM -
[JS] Need Help Removing File extension (in CS2 and CS3)
Hello All.
I have a menu in a dialog that needs to list some file names, but without their file extensions (which will always be .txt in my case). The following is some code that successfully does this in CS3, but I also need it to work in CS2. Do you have any other ways to do this? One code that works in both versions (CS2 and CS3) is ideal.
myNameWithoutExtensionFunction = function( myNameWithExtention ) {
myNameWithoutExtension = myNameWithExtention
myEndOfFileName = myNameWithoutExtension.lastIndexOf( "." ) // get the last period (.) in the filename
if ( myEndOfFileName > -1 ) {
myNameWithoutExtension = myNameWithoutExtension.substr( 0, myEndOfFileName )
return myNameWithoutExtension
Thanks in advance.
DanI realized my mistake. The above code works just fine in CS2. My mistake was elsewhere. The name I was sending to this function wasn't being recognized by CS2. Once I corrected that and sent a valid name to this function it worked. So in case someone needs to remove file extensions, feel free to use the above function!

Need help for file upload - reposted for Steve Muench
Hi Steve,
I have been involved developing a web application that requires a file upload operation. I have studied your example on Upload Text File and Image Example in the Not Yet Documented ADF Sample Applications section. I got the file upload part worked but could not get the original file name to populate the name field..i.e. if I upload myFile.txt to the database, the name field will be myFile.txt (not the name enter by user). Is there a way to capture the filename info? or is it possible to do so within ADF framework? I am using ADF/Struts/JSP with ORDDoc data type. Thanks very much.
BillHello Nani,
You need to change any settings in 'FILE' transaction. This transaction is used to set up Logical file paths. ( In general it will be set already for your system).
You can use the following code.
DATA: LC_LOGICAL_FILENAME_EXPSRC LIKE RCGIEDIAL-IEFILE
VALUE 'EHS_IMP_SOURCES'.
DATA: L_EMERGENCY_FLAG TYPE C.
DATA: L_FILE_FORMAT LIKE FILENAME-FILEFORMAT.
data : X_RCGIEDIAL LIKE RCGIEDIAL occurs 0 with HEADER LINE.
read the default pathname on application server
CALL FUNCTION 'FILE_GET_NAME'
EXPORTING
CLIENT = SY-MANDT
LOGICAL_FILENAME = LC_LOGICAL_FILENAME_EXPSRC
OPERATING_SYSTEM = SY-OPSYS
parameter_1 = ' '
PARAMETER_2 = ' '
USE_PRESENTATION_SERVER = ' '
WITH_FILE_EXTENSION = ' '
USE_BUFFER = ' '
IMPORTING
EMERGENCY_FLAG = L_EMERGENCY_FLAG
FILE_FORMAT = L_FILE_FORMAT
FILE_NAME = X_RCGIEDIAL-IEFILE
EXCEPTIONS
FILE_NOT_FOUND = 1
OTHERS = 2.
write :/ 'file format', L_FILE_FORMAT,
/ 'file name', X_RCGIEDIAL-IEFILE.
Thanks,
Jyothi

JSP 2.0 on OAS 10g R2 (10.1.2.0.2)
I am wondering if it is possible to update the JSP spec of OAS to use 2.0 instead of 1.2. We were starting to develop on 10.1.3 but had to push back to the lower version because of customer requirements. I was wonder if there was a way to do this to
