  • NeoSpeech with Captivate 6

After successfully installing NeoSpeech for Captivate 6.0.0.199 to add additional text-to-speech voices, I am not seeing the Speech Agent options populated with the new NeoSpeech voices in Captivate.
I downloaded the NeoSpeech package with the following link provided in Captivate: http://www.adobe.com/go/captivate6_voices_installer
I am running captivate on windows 7, 64bit.
    Please advise.

    Hello ,
Thanks for sharing the update , You mentioned in the above post that you downloaded voices for Captivate 6.0.0.199 .
If you are already using an updated version then Please check that if you see VT folder in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 x64 folder?
If not Please reinstall voices again and make sure that you close Captivate before installing .
If you see VT folder then try to recreate prefrences of Adobe Captivate .
    Go to .C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Adobe\ and rename Captivate 6.0 x64 to Captivate 6.0 x64.old .
    Thanks and Regards

  • Neospeech in captivate 7

I am trying to download neospeech voices for captivate 7, using the 'click here to download neospeech voices' available under the Speech Management tab. It downloads the zip file but when I click on setup.exe, it gives an error saying that the installation could not be done due to some file that is missing. I have tried this several times, but I am repeatedly getting the same response. Pl advise.

    Hello,
Please unzip all the contents of that .zip file to a folder and then try to run the setup again.
If it happens again, then :
    1) Close all the Adobe Programs and installer window.
    2) Go to this location : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe folder
    3) Rename "OOBE" folder to "1234"
    4) Run the setup again.
Note : If you have 64bit OS, then location will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    Thanks,
    Vikram

  • Neo Speech for Captivate 8

I am looking to install NeoSpeech with System Center onto Captivate 8.
I have already packaged the Captivate 8 and it installs successfully.
I tried to run the neospeech setup.exe --mode=silent but nothing installs. I read that for Captivate 7 you need to create an update package, I tried to do this, but when I pointed it at the ZIP files I was told they were invalid.
Have I to create xml install files ? I see there is one under the payloads directory, and one under packages.
    Please help.

    Hi ,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums !
Please try recreating the preferences and see if it works for you .
    Close Adobe Captivate 8
Rename Adobe Captivate 8 folder from "C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Adobe\ folder
    Launch Adobe Captivate 8
Create a blank project and then check for voices under "Speech Management" window
    Thanks

  • Annoucement: New Menu Wizard for Captivate

I'd like to announce our latest product release - the
    Menu Wizard for Adobe Captivate
    The
Menu Wizard is a 3rd-party software product that integrates
directly into published Adobe Captivate movies. The
Menu Wizard is a Flash movie that provides a dynamic menu -
a series of buttons that navigates to slides you specify within
your published Adobe Captivate movies. This is a frequently
requested feature for Captivate - and is often discussed here in
    the Forums.
    The
Menu Wizard uses a .XML file read the menu content and
settings. You can configure many options, including the number of
menu buttons, button text, background colors (up/over), font, font
size, font color (up/over), border width and color, drop shadow,
button size (height, width), location, horizontal/vertical layout,
transparency, and menu header options. The product is distributed
as an InstallShield release (setup.exe), with all the necessary
files, an example movie and menu, and a 19 page Instruction Guide
    (.PDF) document.
    The product website
    Menu Wizard
Homepage contains detailed information about the product,
    example movies, and FAQs.

Dirk, the Menu Wizard does not have a feature to
restrict users from going to various sections (slides) until
they have visited other sections (slides).
However, you might be able to accomplish this by 1) using
some creative branching or 2) breaking your project up into
separate movies - 1 for each section. At the end of section 1 -
there is a Click Box or Button that will launch section 2. In this
case, the Menu Wizard would be used for navigation within 1 movie
    (section) at a time.

  • How to get more features for Captivate 6

    Hi all,
I've installed Captivate 6 on my laptop at work, I use it for creating training material for our project management system. I was just looking at some Adobe video tutorial and there are some features shown in the videos that I can't find on my captivate (for example Drag and Drop interaction, some particular widget like "Hangman" etc...). I tried to download them, clicking on the "Download more interactions" but there are any available. So, is there a way to get those features, at least those shown in your video tutorial for Captivate 6?
    Thank you very much
    Elena

    Hello,
    thank you for your answer.
I have the version 6.0, so maybe I can't get those features because of the version that I have.
Even if I click on "Download more" on the Interactions window, there are no Interactions available, but is it a problem related to my version or it's because there aren't available new features?
    Thank you very much,
    Elena Bettarini

    Hello and welcome,
I cannot remember for the Hangman interaction anymore, but Drag&Drop was only available for subscription users, for version 6.1.0.3190 Maybe it was not clear in the video you are pointing at, that not all features were available for box licenses. Which version do you have?

  • Google Maps widget for Captivate 4

    Hi people,
I am planning to create a google maps widget for captivate 4. Something like it will load a map of the location(longitude, latitude) set by the project author in the published SWF at runtime.
If you like the idea, then please give your suggestions and options which you would like to see in the widget. Then what kind of controls you want to have in the widget.

    Hey there,
Take a look at this web address
    http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/03/use_world_in_your_elearning_co.html
This includes a Google Map widget created by the Adobe Captivate team.

  • STOPWATCH WIDGET FOR CAPTIVATE 4

Can anyone tell me how to create a stopwatch or timer widget for Captivate 4?

You don't really have to construct a widget to do that. There are two easy ways to achieve this.
    1. Make a textbox and use the $$cpInfoElapsedTimeMS$$ Captivate system variable to show the elapsed time since the project was started. It displays the time in miliseconds,  but you could just make a rectangle in the same color as your background color and then cover up the miliseconds part of the text box. That way only the seconds will show. Remember to right-align the text in your text box.
    2. Provided that you have Flash and can use it you could make a simple flash file which reads the cpInfoElapsedTimeMS variable from Captivate - strips away the miliseconds and display the result in a dynamic text box.

  • Can't create a silent install package for Captivate 7 with AAMEE

I'm trying to create a silent install package for Captivate 7. It doesn't appear that this works with AAMEE. Has anyone been able to do this? If it won't be possible with AAMEE, is there a way to do it with cmd line switches?

    Hi,
You would need to use Adobe Creative Cloud Packager to create a deployment package and deploy Captivate 7 as AAMEE does not supports Captivate 7.
Please refer the documentation available at - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager.html
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Sharad
P.S - Creative Cloud Packager would be deployed under your Adobe LWS account. In case you do not have it available in LWS, then please P.M me your email address and I will get that processed.
    Regards,
    Sharad

  • I already have a subscription for Captivate.  I would like to add InDesign.  Does it make more sense to just buy the while package @ the $49/month rate?

I already have a subscription for Captivate.  I would like to add InDesign.  Does it make more sense to just buy the while package @ the $49/month rate?

As of now, Captivate & In design can not be clubbed together. You can buy the CC complete package or go for single app.

  • Load limitations for Captivate Files in RoboHelp?

We are investigating RoboHelp 9 as a solution for an upcoming help project that would involve a large number of Captivate demos (approximately 70) ranging in size from 1 - 5MB. Has anyone run into issues using large numbers of Captivate files in a RoboHelp project? Is there a maximum file size for Captivate demos in RoboHelp? Any other issues? I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone with experience in this area.

    Welcome to our community
There really shouldn't be any load limitations other than those imposed by the Captivate files themselves. My guess is that you plan on using WebHelp, no? And if you are, the Captivate demos will be loaded as needed from the server. So the only lag you will see is the delay for what it takes for the server to serve up the demo itself.
Hopefully this answers your question. If not, post back and we will take another stab at it.
    Cheers... Rick
