NeoSpeech install issue Captivate 8.0.0.145 download version

I am having problems installing the NeoSpeech text to speech (Captivate Voices 64 bit).
I have downloaded it successfully, but when we install it, it says we need a feature that was on the DVD or the download site. I downloaded Captivate from Adobe, and don't have a disc. I used the "Click here to download" and downloaded the Captivate 8 Voices_x64 file.
When I try running it, I get this pop up warning: "We've encountered the following issues. Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Adviser to detect the problem." 
We get this from the link: The Adobe Support Adviser has been discontinued "The Adobe Support Adviser tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation."
I have tried chat with Adobe 3 different days, and it says they are busy, Any ideas on what I need to get to make this work?

I am using Captivate 8 and I have download the voices patch from this link http://download.macromedia.com/captivate/cp8/Captivate_8_Voices_x64.zip and characters package from http://download.macromedia.com/captivate/cp8/Adobe_eLearning_Asset_LS21.exe. Whenever I try to extract it the voices file shows an error stating, " The file is either unknown format or damaged". The characters package always get stuck at certain point and the screen freezes. Please help.

    I have recently purchased Captivate 7. I have downloaded each of the items on the downloads page and 'extracted' them as indicated by the prompts. I have tried to install the NeoSpeech voices again and again, without success. These are all the folders and files I now have:

    Adobe eLearning Assets
    Cp7_win_assets_installer
    Cp7_win64_voices_installer
    NeoSpeech Voices (64 Bit)
    Captivate_7_x64_Neo_Content_LS21.7z (and 'application' by the same file name)
    Please tell me what I need to do to to be able to use the NeoSpeech voices. At the moment, only a Microsoft voice is available in the TTS function.

    Captivate 7 works the same way. However, if you are on 64-bit system and use NeoSpeech user dictionary, you should be aware of one bug.
    When you run UserDicEng_<VoiceArtist>, it crashes with an error message. The workaround for that can be found in:

    To the best of my knowledge, Captivate 7 doesn't support any other voices other than NeoSpeech.

    Hello,
    I have tried to use the KB 325175 and apply the same command
    line used in Captivate 3 to the new Captivate 4:
    setup.exe /s /v"/qn SERIALNUMBER=\"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\"
    ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress"
    However, I got full user interface and it stopped on the
    screen asking me for the serial number. Is there a way to install
    Adobe Captivate 4 silently without any user interaction and what
    are the new command line switches?

    No need for apologies.
    We just like to keep the threads clean so that
    someone with an issue doesn't come looking and nobody is around to
    answer the question. They scan a few threads where others asked the
    same thing. But if most of the threads were just dangling threads
    asking the same question with no answer, they may grow frustrated
    and give up before finally finding the magickal thread where a
    reply that solved the issue was offered.
    Generally, most of the folks here are pretty good at picking
    up on a thread even if it's not really in what one may think is a
    proper category. Your issue may need to be sent to Adobe for an
    answer because Captivate 4 is so new. Maybe it's a bug we are
    seeing and it should work as it did in version 3. I dunno. Only
    Adobe can answer that.
    Perhaps try reporting it as an issue via the wish form?

    Adobe Download Assistant is a small application that is meant to improve download reliability and avoid issues that commonly occur during large downloads, such as frequent disconnects. After the trial product is downloaded, Adobe Download Assistant should automatically start installing the product.
    Under certain conditions, the Adobe Download Assistant installs but does not immediately start downloading the trial product. If this happens:
    1. Quit the Adobe Download Assistant.
    2. In your browser, return to the product trial download page on Adobe.com. Refresh the page, then click the Download now button again and follow the prompts.
    When you start the download, be sure to select your User folder or Desktop folder. A common cause of errors are due to attempts to download the Adobe Download Assistant to the Program Files/Applications folder. The Adobe Download Assistant only downloads the trial application files. Once the download is complete it will  launch the application installer; when the installer  is launched you can then choose to install the actual trial application into the Program Files/Application folder.

    The installer should have gone into your Apple Software Update folder:
    C:\USERS\<user name>\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update
    Right mouse click the msi file and select INSTALL

  • SP2010 Foundation Post Install issues on development workstation - Database and Services

    Just recently installed SP2010 Foundation for a development workstation.  Platform isWin7 X64 pro, SQL 2008 (Developer edition)
    (1) Looks like search has some configuration issues.  This is in the Windows event log
    The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Administration.SPSearchJobDefinition (ID 38eefca2-d092-47f4-a833-23f8280c5f63) threw an exception. More information is included below.
    The device is not ready.  
    (2) In Central Admin > Servers in Farm
    Status - "Upgrade Available", 
    (3) In Central Admin > Manage Database Upgrade Status
    Sveral of the Datbase(s) mention that upgrade is recommended, but one in particular mentions that the DB is too old?

    (4) Looking at my local SQL 2008 instance that SP2010 created, I see several DB's with "Config" in the name along with a guid on the end of the name.  Is the result of re-running the configuration wizard several times while

    here is question, i am assuming its fresh install not upgrade...
    when you run the config wizard( you mentioned many times), which option you select from 2nd try to on ward....cannot disconnect this server from farm?
    are you using any script to install ?
    I would say run the config wizard without disconnecting and this server will host CA option.
    from the central admin > manager server in farm...on top you will see farm version and config database name. note it
    from the Manage database Upgrade status page note all the db names
    now match it on sql and keep those and all other should gone now as a clean process.

    The second downloaded version made it farther than the first on the installation.  It makes it to the installation of PSE 10 and then jumps from 60% installed to 98% and shows the above message.  This is getting really frustrating given that it takes me several hours to download a copy of this software.

    Thanks for the advice.  Unfortunately, it didn't work.  I deleted (and emptied the trash) of the Adobe folder in the Hard drive>library>application support folders, uninstalled the partial install of PSE 10 using Adobe's uninstall, turned off the antivirus software, and tried installing from a new administrative account.  Here is the error code from this most recent attempt.

    This computer has had some previous Photoshop versions migrated to it over the years (Photoshop 4.0 for OS 9, and Photoshop 7.0).  Photoshop 7.0 stopped working after I upgraded the OS from Tiger to Snow Leopard, and I no longer have the disks or serial number so that is why I'm trying install PSE 10.  Could these old versions (which I tried to delete, but did not have a specific uninstall version for) be a source of this issue?  If so, is there a way to make sure they're all gone?

    I've installed a font. The font works in Photoshop and Illustrator

    Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
    Unfortunately, it looks like something is wrong with the file system and the installer can't see the root drive to install to.  A Google search returns numerous results affecting various products and the recurring theme is that something is wrong with the disk.  There are many recommendations from various sources, but nothing definitive.

    I would try the following options:
    Try using the PKG installer. This is used Mac SysAdmins to install Flash Player within their organization and uses a slightly different installer path, which may or may not work.
    Some people have had success with disk and permissions repair some have not.  You can try running a disk and permissions repair.  After the disk and permissions repair is complete, reboot the system and try to install again using either the online installer (get.adobe.com/flashplayer) or the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
    If these options do not work, I'd reach out to Apple support to see if they have a suggestion.  If you do find a resolution to this, please let me know.  I'll be happy to share it with people that encounter the problem in the future.

    I've just spent the past hour trying to figure out why iTunes 10 is reporting I have 17.9GB of video although the iPad itself is saying I have 0 videos.
    I am not syncing any music videos, movies, TV shows, Podcasts or content from iTunes U.
    The iPad Free Space indicator is reporting I have 8.9GB avail, but counting video as using 17.9GB of my iPad's total capacity.
    Anyone else?
    I'm also trying to add Photogene to my iPad via iTunes and keep getting an error message indicating I need a newer version of iPad software to install, although I do have the most recent version. Seems like iTunes 10 issues.

    There seems to be some reports that iTunes is reporting the wrong numbers for the free space, thought that's not happening to me (as best as I can tell) on my iPhone and iPad.
    As for Photogene, my guess is that you're trying to install the iPhone version on your iPad. The iPhone version only works on iOS 4.0, so can't be installed on the iPad. There is an iPad version, but you have to buy it separately.

    It seems that Captivate is not downloaded completely. Only one file is downloaded(i.e. .exe) , .7z file is missing.  You can follow the below instructions to download Captivate 7 via direct links.
    In order to download Adobe Captivate 7.0 Windows English, open the link mentioned below and sign in with your Adobe ID and password.
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=captivate
    Once you sign In with your Adobe Id and password, you will be redirected to Adobe Captivate 7.0 download page, Do not click on download. Kindly stay on that page and paste the below two links on the Trail Page Address Bar  one by one and save the files on your system at same location:

    I just installed Adobe Captivate 7 on my Mac. [8 gig of memory, Intel, OS X 10.9]
    It jumps as though it wants to start but doesn't. Any advice? I've rebooted after installing. Removed and reinstalled again. no go
    I used a CD. Maybe I should download a copy and try that?

    I have a G5 I had to re install and erase my HD cause I had issues, now that i am rebuilding the system it won't let me install FCS, I get to the DVDP disc and it says Installation failed.... I tried it a few time and I get the same error. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

    Made sure the disks are clean? I'd call Apple on an install issue if it's new or if you suspect a damaged disk and you're the registered user.
    Which OS are your running? QuickTime Version?

    I have a strange WebUtil install issue on 10gIAS 10.1.2.0.2. I downloaded the 1.0.6 WU version and put it into a webutil directory under forms (which the pre-configuration of AS seem to assume) and when I call the forms servlet with ?config=webutil the "RegisterWebUtil - Loading WebUtil Version 1.0.6" shows but the main applet doesn't load. The webutil HTML template is found and looks OK in View Source but no applet. The config section has a archive_jini but it behaves as if the main jar can't be found(?) Nothing extra in the jinit-console, even at log level 5. webutil.cfg is copied to forms/server and frmwebutil.jar to forms/java.
