I cannot activate the radio function, no connection is possible, any tipps?
Hey you, can somebody help me to activate the radio function ?
i bought a nano but there is no connection possible between nano and headphones
/ radio. after claiming that I got a new one but there is still the same problem.
what is wrong ? Any idea ?The first thing you'll want to do is double check to make sure the headset is plugged all the way in. The white part of the headset should be flush with the body of the Nano.
Next, reset the iPod by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

OPC Server Connection not possible (with LabView 7.0 it is working)
We have used LabView 7.0 to view OPC items on a remote server (Windows CE).
On WindowsCE it's not possible to browse the remote registry, therefore we
make the registry settings on the client Computer and are setting the
"RemoteServerName". For LabView 7.0 it was working.
With LabView 7.1 when we try the same with the sample "Browse to OPC Item.vi"
we get the Message Box "NI Network Browser Error!" "This OPC Server does not support
the interface: IOPCBrowseServerAddressSpace error code - 0x80070005 Access denied!"
Has any one an idea what has changed since LabView 7.0.
The OPC Server has also an OPCEnum running. Is there any way to read this information?
Here are the whole registry setting for the local machine to connet to remot OPC-Server:

LabVIEW 7.1 implements some new security features dealing with DCOM that were not in 7.0. Windows is moving in this direction, and National Instruments decided to follow suit. 7.1 requires a certain level of authentication from the server. If this is the issue in your case, it can be resolved with the following steps (this is for Windows XP; CE will probably be different):
1. On the computer hosting your OPC server select "Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Component Services.
2. On the tree on the left, expand "Component Services >> Computers >> My Computer >> DCOM Config.
3. Your OPC server should be registered as one of these items. Right-click on your server and select "Properties."
4. On the "General" tab, change the "Authentication Level" to "Connect."
If this property is already set to Connect or Default (and the default setting is Connect) then this will have no effect.
You can also try checking some of the other settings:
1. On the computer hosting your OPC server select "Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Component Services.
2. On the tree on the left, expand "Component Services >> Computers >> My Computer
3. Right-click on My Computer and select "Properties."
4. On the "Default Properties" tab, make sure "Default Impersonation Level" is set to "Identify."
You may also want to look at the "COM Security" tab to make sure your computer has the right permissions.
If all else fails, you can try adding the line "ole.AuthnLevel = 1" to the LabVIEW.ini file. This should reverse some of the changes to 7.1.

Actiontech MRI424WS number of connections possible?
I have the actiontech router for my Verizon FiOS and several items that need to be connected to it from my xboxes, PS3 laptops and mobile devices. I foudn a setting in the FiOS router that states "number of connections" and goes from 1 to 10.
The question I have is that from time to time one of our laptops seems to never be able to connect to the internet (Vista shows local access only). Is this because I have too many items on the router? Is there a way around this limitation. If I had know this I would never have signed up for this.
Is the only way around this to buy another router and hook it in sequence to the actiontech?
Thanks for your responses.Hubrisnxs wrote:
where exactly do you see that? like on what page or after clicking what items in the router?
the router actually supports upto 254 some odd connections.
physically out of the box 4 hardwired connections and any number of wireless that fit within that configuration.
The screen you are looking at MIGHT be the number of pc's that can be logged into the verizon interface at one time, and not the amount of active connections.
Wow, that's a little scary. I have a Westell 9100Em and I currently show
Connections Active Connections: 258 Approximate Max. Connections: 154000
We must be talking a different connections page, there can't really be that difference between the 2 routers can there?
I accessed the connections screen by following the router users guide
I currently have 14 devices connected

If you select Firewall Settings in the top navigation menu and then select Connections in the left submenu, the
following screen will appear.
The connections list displays all the connections that are currently open on the firewall, as well as various details
and statistics. You can use this list to close undesired connections by clicking the “X” icons. The basic display
includes the protocol type, the different ports it uses, and the direction of the secured traffic.
• Active Connections—this value represents the number of active concurrent connections.
• Approximate Max. Connections—this value represents the amount of additional concurrent connections
possible.
• Connections Per Page—use this drop-down list to select the number of connections to display at once.

Smart Card based ssl connection not possible with SunPKCS11 Provider?
Dear all
We use jsse connections with file based Pkcs12 Keystores for longer time.
Now we d'like to replace these .p12 files with SmartCards.
While the jsse 5 reference guide suggests:
"To use a Smartcard as a keystore or trust store, set the javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType and javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType system properties, respectively, to "pkcs11", and set the javax.net.ssl.keyStore and javax.net.ssl.trustStore system properties, respectively, to NONE. To specify the use of a specific provider, use the javax.net.ssl.keyStoreProvider and javax.net.ssl.trustStoreProvider system properties (e.g., "SunPKCS11-joe"). By using these properties, you can configure an application that previously depended on these properties to access a file-based keystore to use a Smartcard keystore with no changes to the application."
this does not work!
In the following Code sequence we get a
java.net.SocketException: sun.security.pkcs11.wrapper.PKCS11Exception: CKR_ATTRIBUTE_TYPE_INVALID
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType", "pkcs11");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", "NONE");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", pin);
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreProvider", "SunPKCS11-ACOSTOKEN");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType", "pkcs11");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "NONE");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", pin);
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreProvider", "SunPKCS11-ACOSTOKEN");
SSLSocketFactory factory = (SSLSocketFactory) SSLSocketFactory.getDefault();
SSLSocket socket = (SSLSocket)factory.createSocket(host, 443); // Exception here --> CKR_ATTRIBUTE_TYPE_INVALID
socket.startHandshake();
.Because the SmartCard with the KeyMaterial on it is working with
- IAIK package (JCE + PKCS11Wrapper + SSL)
- FireFox 2
I suggest we do something wrong here.
Has anyone an idea what it might be?
Thanks for yout help
MarcelHi all, I'm experiencing a problem using SunPKCS11 as a keystore provider for SSL.
String pkcs11config = "name = " + "bit4id" + "\nlibrary = " + "c:/windows/system32/bit4p11.dll";
byte[] pkcs11configBytes = pkcs11config.getBytes();
ByteArrayInputStream configStream = new ByteArrayInputStream(
pkcs11configBytes);
AuthProvider pkcs11Provider = new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11(
configStream);
pkcs11Provider.setCallbackHandler(new MyGuiCallbackHandler());
if (Security.getProvider(pkcs11Provider.getName()) != null) {
Security.removeProvider(pkcs11Provider.getName());
Security.insertProviderAt(pkcs11Provider, 2);
//Security.insertProviderAt(pkcs11Provider, 1);
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreProvider",
pkcs11Provider.getName());
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType",
"PKCS11");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore",
"NONE");
SSLContext sslcont = SSLContext.getInstance("SSL");
sslcont.init(null/*KM*/, tmS, rng);
If i use KM (KeyManager[] containing a KeyStore.getInstance("PKCS11")) everything works fine, but if I try to initialize the sslcontext using the default keyStoreProvider (just commenting out KM, and without any other modification to the code), it uses SUN instead of PKCS11, even if I set the system property javax.net.ssl.keyStore* (as you can see in my code)
Can anyone help me?
Masimaybe you an past the piece of code where you initialize things?
Thank's in advance and happy new year,

Sharepoint break REST API connection (anonymous), possible bug in sharepoint
Hello, I have following problem when I test Rest API using fiddler :
As i see, server just close connection and does not return any status code at all. I expect to see at least 401 or 500 exception. Is that SharePoint
bug, or this is expected behavior of the SharePoint? (according HTTP protocol & according SharePoint Rest API )
Web application settings and site collection settings:Hi,
Can you access the site from browser?
If you can, would you mind providing more details about how you execute your request? Anonymous or with credential?
How about setting the “Anonymous Access” to “Anonymous users can access Entire Web site”? It would allow anonymous users access the site.
Feel free to reply if the issue still exists.

This the only trick so far that has shown any sign of working. The store at least partially loaded, although it took probably 10 minutes to do so. Plus, when I got there, many of the URL's had a broken chain-link symbols plus none of them worked. I was able to log in and activate my account, though, and got an email from Apple confirming such. Video/Screen Sharing via 3G connection not possible - port restrictions?
I'm running Jabber-based iChat AV 5.0.3 sessions from my MBP connected to the Internet via a wireless USB modem 3G/UMTS (German Telekom D1 network). My buddies are connected to the Internet via regular broadband connections (DSL). I have set up a hosted Jabber server via Dreamhost (without SSL, port 5222 used).
Status Quo:
- Contact status of remote Jabber users shows up properly. All buttons (text chat, screen sharing, video) are available (not greyed out) on both sides.
- Text chat works fine.
- Video chat and screen sharing can be invoked from both sides (confirmation window shows up), but after confirmation the initiation process doesn't finish successfully. The video/screen sharing session doesn't run. *iChat AV shows a message indicating that it doesn't receive an answer from the remote user device.* If the iChat session is initiated from a buddy's computer, the buddy gets the same message respectively.
- For testing purposes, I changed the internet connection on my MBP from the mobile 3G USB modem to a regular *DSL broadband connection (same ISP, German Telekom). In this scenario, video/audio calls and screen sharing work flawlessly!* Therefore, I assume that the problems in 3G connection mode is caused by the ISP (German Telekom) blocking/restricting ports required by iChat AV for initiating the video call and streaming the data on their 3G network.
Is there any way to bypass ISP restrictions, by either changing specific iChat AV port settings on both ends (client devices) or by port forwarding? If yes, which settings should I change? Unfortunately, it's couldn't find any document indicating which ports are opened/allowed by German Telekom's 2G/3G (GSM/UMTS) network.
Below is an excerpt of the error message produced by iChat AV:

(…)Hi,
Does this 3G device have any set up functions that are on your Mac ?
If it does not it is likely that it is wide open to all Port (65535 of them).
I presume that in System Preferences > Network you see a Public IP when using this device ?
Again this would tend to pint to all the ports being open.
Is there anything on the ISP's web site that suggests this device is unsuitable to be used with VoIP or SIP connections ?
VoIP (Voice over the Internet) uses the SIP connection process the way iChat does.
Most likely the issues is the way packets are sent.
When you do a download, for instance, do you find the speed increases in the first few minutes ?
When some data packets are sent over the Internet the next one is not sent until confirmation that the first has arrived.
This Latency effects Point to Point WiFi (antenna to Dish on House) and satellite connections mostly particularly when it is a two way thing.
It can effect Mobile/Cell phone type connections.
What sort of Speeds are you getting on the 3G device ?
http://www.speedtest.net/
Do these seem to get faster as the time proceeds ? (this can be difficult to spot).
The Log mentions one end being at just over 2Gbps although it does not make it clear which end.
As the Remote end is the end that reports "Router: Port Restricted" and it works over standard DSL we have to presume they have the ports open.
You could try restricting iChat 's Bandwidth in iChat menu > Preferences > Video Section to 500kbps (try it at both ends)
If that does not work try 200kbps
This may stop iChat from trying to send data too Fast for the Network Connections.
Realistically there are a few too many variables here.
It could be Speed of data throughout at the Initiation point. (Slow Start up of data transfer)
It could be an Internal setting preventing SIP.
It could be that the 3G network sends and receives data by different routes.
(I have seen this once when a ISP was repairing some Cabling. To maintain end user speeds they managed their own network to split Incoming and outgoing data to the end point.)
iChat does not like this as it checks the IPs and the Hops (number of intermediate stages/servers) and if the data is different it will not connect (Man in the Middle attack protection).
I can't remember the last time I knew of someone being successful with either an 3G USB dongle or a 3G phone as Modem (internet Sharing).
Despite my ideas I think you will be unlucky and this will not work.

Problem - S10-2 WinXP Home - WLAN & 3G simultanous connection not possible?
Hello!
I have Lenovo Idea Pad S10-S model netbook with WINXP Home edition preloaded.
It also has 3g connection bulti in.
When I press Fn + F5 and try to enable 3G with WLAN already enabled - it automaticaly disables WLAN - and vice versa.
Is there some sort of setting to disable this behavieur?
I tryed almost anythnig to enable 3G AND WLAN connection simultaneously but it does not work.
Please help! I need this funcionality to use WLAN printer when connected to internet via 3G.
Thank you for your help and best regards,
DavidI think that you can' do that before both devices shares a same anthena.
At least you can use an USB 3G adapter, which has built-in anthena.

MacBook Pro Wireless Connectivity issues - Possibly Resolved
I have been having the same issue as many people with the WiFi connectivity dropping over and over. This has been a total hair pulling experience. I searched all over the internet and have not found a solution so I started digging and dianosing this profound problem. It appears as of now, that it has been fixed in my case so I wanted to share it with others and hopefully it helps you guys out as well.
*If you are using a router with Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) enabled, you need to disable it.* My connection was dropping every 15 or so minutes but has been up for quite a while now without the need to turn off and on Airport. Give it a try, hopefully your results will be successful.BTW: If you try this and it works for you please reply back so we can give more information to the Mac Users out there.

Connection issue - possible workaround
I have had similar problems connecting to the iTunes Store after updating. I stumbled upon this solution: as the problems seemed to be network related, I configured my wireless router to put my iMac into the "DMZ" (outside the router's firewall). This procedure appears to allow the iTunes Store to "talk" to my Mac. Long story short, I can buy music once again. After I complete my purchases, I log back onto the router and put my iMac back behind the firewall. Hope this works for someone else...

Internet Dropouts and Internet Connection Trouble; POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Here is something that might help
I have had problems with this on my old G5, Intel Macbook, and More Recently my Mac Pro (past 4 years I have airport trouble)
I spent hours trouble shooting, the thing that ends up working for me three times so far has solved my problem
Here is a step by step instruction of what I did (continue anyway if you are not receiving the same circumstances/results)
Remember this is also a diagnostic method for yourself to see what is working and what is not so you can solve the problem. Also I still get network drop outs and sometimes internet performance decrease but a lot less frequently by performing the steps bellow. If your problem persists then I might be able to trouble shoot with you. In no way this method will be successful and your problem may become worse so use discretion when applying the steps below
1)Check "Console" to see whether broadcast is being dropped (utilities folder)
2)Make sure your problem persists with all other applications not running (including your virus software)
3)Reset Safari and continue loading to see if network performance is still hanging up
4)If slow loading persists/airport drops shut down computer and boot into safe mode by holding shift key (this empties cache stuff and does a few repairs)
5)Load Safari and see if slow loading persists (while in safe mode)
6)Go to disk utility and repair disk first (or verify)
7)If disk comes clean then precede to repair permissions, there are many errors that show up that are nothing to worry about "ACL found in different place" is one of them.
8)Shut down, (do not restart and wait for 10 sec, I have no idea why this happens and it does not make sense to me but I have restarted and ended up with some other problems)
9)Turn on computer and proceed to disk utility again (do not worry about airport, do not touch yet
10)Verify disk again (remember not in safe mode)
11)Repair permissions once again (different things are loaded into the permission system; plugins ect.)
12)Shut down computer again
13)Turn on computer and proceed to open network preferences and remove airport service (make sure your changes are applied)
14)Open key chain access
15)Delete your network password (if it exists) in "login" and in "system"
16)Shut down computer once again
17)Reapply all network configurations in the network preferences panel
18)Shut down computer once again and turn on
19)Check airport performance over the next 30 min or so by clicking links actively and waiting
20)If problem persists you may have corrupted files somewhere and may have to delete some preference files and perform the method above once again (to be safe I suggest running the disk utility test once again)
note: for some reason Leopard still remembers old network information even after deleting it. you need to find a way to keep leopard from using old preferences (it can be any of them). If all thus fails trash your router settings (on your router, factory defaults) and perform the steps above once again)
Please report abnormal occurrences like the "self assign ip address problem in network preferences" so we can narrow down where problems are mostly occurring"I quote from the System Preferences Help:
If your computer is connected to the Internet, you can share its Internet connection with other computers on your local network.
For example, if your computer is connected to the Internet using a DSL modem and has an AirPort Card installed, you can share the DSL connection with other AirPort-equipped computers.
On Windows computers, sharing your Internet connection is sometimes referred to as a “network bridge” or “bridging your network.”
To set up Internet sharing:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Sharing.
Select Internet Sharing.
Choose the Internet connection you want to share from the “Share your connection from” pop-up menu. For example, if you’re connected to the Internet over Ethernet, choose Ethernet.
Select how you want to share your Internet connection in the “To computers using” list. For example, if you want to share your Internet connection over AirPort, select AirPort.If you share your Internet connection using AirPort, click AirPort Options and give your network a name and password. -
HT4199 wifi connection not possible
We've changed internet provider and I can no longer get my iphone to get the wifi, the laptops and our other iphone have no problem, and I've never had a problem before with wifi connection. Any ideas?
If your phone can connect to other wireless networks, just not yours, then they are almost certainly wrong. 90% of the time it's the router. It needs to be broadcasting 2.4GHz with a channel width of 20 MHz, have the latest firmware update, be using WPA/WPA2 encryption (recommended), have MAC address authentication/filtering set to off (recommended), etc. A complete list of the recommending router settings is shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199. The most common fix is to update the router's firmware.
There isn't much you can do on the phone to troubleshoot this, beyond resetting network settings (which you've already done), turning wifi off, then back on in Settings>Wi-Fi, and powering off the phone (hold the on/off button until you see the off slider, slide to turn off) then back on. You could try these additional things, but I think your internet provider tech support people are going to have to help your troubleshoot the router itself to get things fixed. -
Z1C not reacting, USB connection not possible
Hello,
this afternoon, when I wanted to use my phone it was not reacting. it was on and fully functioning, when I used it about half an hour beforeand the battery was at least half full.
I tried holding the power button, using the red reset button next to the sim card, but nothing. The display stayed black.
when I connected it to my pc, the LED was red, but started blinking in different time intervalls.
My phone connected to the pc, but lost connection in the same intervall as the light went off.
Same problem with charging it.
Does anyone have an idea what to do to fix this problem?
(Other than contaction Sony Support, what I will do tomorrow morning)
Thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.Connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let the phone charge for 2 to 3 hours > then repair it with PCC

Cant connect VPN - Possible font problem
I'm no longer able to connect my VPNs. I believe this is due to a problem with system fonts which prevents it from putting up the "Please enter password" dialog box. When I try to connect a VPN it remains in the "Connecting" state and I see the following log entries:

May 14 09:25:23 fog UserNotificationCenter[229]: NSFont: Cannot instantiate any font !!
I've done the disk repair and permissions repair. Looks as if something has gone wrong with system fonts. What can I do?HI,
