Net book won't print

I have a HP netbook mini computer running Win 7 starter and a brand new HP 8100 Eprinter.  Because I could not get the netbook to print to the old HP officejet j6480 printer that it had printed to for years I decided to connect it to the new out of box  never used printer.  Unfortunately the program (which I used an external cd drive to load) said that the printer was successfully installed but I cannot print.  The same thing is happening that happened with the old printer.  The device manager sees the printers, says they are working,  -- a test page goes right to the appropriate queue but nothing ever prints!  HELP

Hello @RKWM , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing print interruption issues.  I would like to help!
I'd recommend starting with a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Address Book Won't Print to file or printer or PDF

    Greetings -
Using 10.4.8 on MacBook Pro 17" - Address Book will not print to the printer or to a PDF file when I attempt to print ALL of the addresses. It works for just 1 address. I didn't try 50, 60, etc. to see where it stops. I have about 750 names/contacts.
Archived here is the same question, but with no answers given.
    Help!
    David

I have giving up on syncing contacts. In my iMac Address Book, everything is correctly entered and formatted to suit the country where the contact lives. But MobileMe appers to allow you to select only the US, France, Germany and Japan, I think. Other countries seem to default to a US format. Despite the opening of yet another Apple Shop in the UK—in Covent Garden—MobileMe apparently can't recognize a UK address. What seems to happen when I try to sync addresses is that MobileMe thinks it has found different address entries on my coputers, and tries to replace what are correct formats with incorrect ones.
I have just been right through my iMac Address Book, and the MobileMe contact list, and made sure that the data was entered in the same order. The only difference in the two lists was that the Address Book had address data correctly formatted for country in which the contact lives. Yet when asking for the Address Book to sync with MobileMe, the system says it wants to add 109 new contacts and delete a handful of others. These 109 addresses would either be duplicates of existing contacts, or replacements with the address formatting pushed into a US format.
There has been another problem. Some time ago I found that the MobileMe contact list was full of duplicates in which the same data was displayed twice in a different order or a different format.
Unless I am missing something, it seems that syncing using MobileMe, with its lack of address formatting options, is useless for anyone living outside the US, France, Germany or Japan, and useless for them if they happen to have any foreign friends.
Apple seems unconcerned about this. Surely they must have realized that syncing contacts wouldn't work for many, perhaps most, users, yet they continue to promote it as a simple and effective option.
    Or am I missing something?

  • Address Book won't print

I have previously printed lists from my address book without difficulty. Suddenly, when I choose File>Print, nothing happens. Nothing shows up in the print cue. Can anyone help?

    Bronson, thanks.
I have just downloaded the easy envelopes widget looks good but..... The country held in the Address Book does not appear. I can edit the address in the widget but it would be easier if it would appear on it's own.

  • Aperture: photo book won't print

When I click to order a photo book or want to print it, there is a warning of missing links and lower quality pictures. I would like to order nontheless. How can I do that?

If it is only a warning, you can proceed on your own risk and ignore the warning, but probably you wan't like the results.
I'd recommend to print the book to pdf first, and to browse the pdf-file, so you will see exactly what you will get for your money, and frankly, if there are missing links, there will be pictures missing from book. Why not repair those links first?

  • My photo book won't print. Arrrrrgh!

I'm using 8.1.2 424 version of iPhoto. I've created a photo album I want to order, but it keeps telling me I need an Apple Account with 1-click ordering enabled. I've done this, but now it tells me my apple id can't be used for 1-click ordering.
    It's driving me mad!
Can someone tell me from start to finish what I need to do to get this **** thing printed!
I'm in the Uk and I'm using OSX 10.9.3

First go into iPhoto's Advanced preference pane and confirm that the Print Product Store for the UK.
If that doesn't clear up the problem click on the Store button at the top and then on the Accounts link in the next window at the far right:
Click on View Account.  Remove and reenter all of the information regarding your credit card, billing address, etc. and confirm that 1-click purchasing is enabled.  Then try again.
Note:  before ordering create a PDF preview of the book via this Apple document: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture. Check it for errors and when satisfied the book is ready to order keep a copy of the PDF file to compare to the printed copy when it arrives.

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue.  Contacted Canon's tech support for instance?

  • Printer won't print - HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus All in 1

    Hi,
Please can anyone help me ?
I have Windows 7, 64 bit HP computer with  a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus All in 1 Printer.
It printed over the network/wireless yesterday. I then had a problem scanning to the computer so I followed advice on the HP community and uninstalled and re-installed the latest software/driver for the printer.
Today it WON'T PRINT!! The printer has a connection to my router (Plus Net Technicolor N router) and shows the little symbol on the printer screen. I tried printing my work today and it says the printer is offline - it can't be as the printer is ON and has a signal connection.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, turned it on and off on the printer, I've restarted the computer, I've unplugged and plugged in all of it - the router, computer and printer. The computer has the green tick to say the printer is the default and it is ready. It then says to check the network connection or it maybe to do with the firewall settings, but these I haven't changed for over 1 month and I've printed loads of stuff between then and yesterday.
I desperately need my printer and short of going to have to buy a brand new one - I don't know how to fix it!!!
Please can anyone out there help me??!!!
    Help!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks for any helpful advice
    Victoria

Just to say as well that on the top of the 'X there is a problem printing' At the top where it says the printer - it has on it 'Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8600'
So it is trying to print from the 'Fax' part of the printer and yet when I change the printer device to the actual 'printer' part to default it always changes back to the 'fax' Officejet Pro 8600 Plus rather than the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.
I will uninstall all the elements to the printer and then find the latest driver to the printer and start again to see if that helps.
    Please help me!!!
Thank you for any helpful advice

  • CS3 won't print

I've suddenly run into a situation where PS CS3 won't print. The Print dialog comes up as usual, but after making the selections and hitting Print, the print job never makes it to the printer(s).I'm using Epson printers and running Mac OSX Leopard. I can print to the printers from other applications, and even from PS CS2. I've checked my scratch disk for space, so the images can be spooled, and have plenty of RAM available. The size of the images doesn't seem to matter.
I recently upgraded to the latest CUPS drivers, but I don't think that should affect PS. Epson says that the printers have built in support in Leopard, so no individual drivers can be downloaded. I would think that PS would be using thebult in drivers that shiop with the OS and not the Gutenprint drivers, anyway.
Has anyone had this problem before, or a solution?
    Thanks in advance
    William

CUPS and Gutenprint are two different animals, though the former is needed to use the latter.
    You'll find the uninstaller here:
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
CAUTIONARY NOTE for CS4 users: If you have an Epson printer model for which Epson does not offer a 16-bit printer driver (for instance the Epson 2200 don't know of any others off-hand)), the latest version of Gutenprint, 5.2.2, will allow you to use 16-bit printing in Tiger and Leopard. In that case, you may definitely want to keep Gutenprint. I've been running it with no problems for about a week.
Gutenprint 5.2.2, released some two weeks ago, appears very stable and offers several bug fixes from earlier Gutenprint 5.2.x releases.
On the other hand, don't take this as a riniging endorsement of 16-bit printing (yet) if you're not already experimenting with it. I'm very happy with preliminary results, but it does slow printing considerably, as you're sending an awful lot more information to the printer. :)

With only one cartridge light blinking I would suspect the cartridge, they do rarely fail (much more often for reman cartridges, see here).  Clean the cartridge contascts as shown here.  If that fails and the cartridge is an original HP then check the warranty date as shown here.  If the cartridge is in warranty return it to your dealer for a warranty replacement.
The printer will automatically switch to backup mode if the black (or color in some printers) cartridge is removed.  I do not know if this works with the PSC 1510, some all-in-on devices insist on having both cartridges present.

  • Address Book will not print

I am new to MAC. I have spent the last month entering 1037 contacts into my address book. Now I cannot print it. The software itself does not respond. I have had to force quit it everytime. I tried to do smaller segments, but I actually cannot even print a single page. The little wheel turns and it states "not responding". I will even do letter size, but I cannot get it to do anything. I held for over one hour on Apple Support (and I paid big $$ for 3 year assistance, thank you)...So, it won't create a PDF, it won't print even a single page; I have given up on pocket size and would be perfectly happy to get lettersize. I found a link someone gave me to convert vcards to CSV but there are no fields...the addresses are a single row and it is a mess. Is there another software that will pull this out? I tried Entourage on my machine but no go. I will BUY anything after all this work. Thoughts? Ideas?

There are some other applications that can print your Address Book data. Rather than make a specific suggestion, I recommend going to http://www.versiontracker.com/ and searching for "print address book".

  • Indesign-generated .pdf files won't print

I realize this question is vague to the point of being unanswerable, but here I go anyway.
Our department's publication person sent me a number of chapters of our book in progress so that I could print an uncorrected proof to show to our funding source. She emailed me .pdf files generated by InDesign CS2, probably, although it might have been CS3.
She also emailed me the indesign file for the frontmatter because I had some things to add, so the .pdf for that I generated myself.
I took everything to a local printer we regularly use. To print this job he was using a large commercial Canon setup I think. None of the .pdfs would print on it. He ended up having to print them all as images for the purposes of creating a proof for me.
Now, I printed all of them myself on our networked postscript printer, both from a Mac and a Windows machine, no problem.
Since the files had been emailed to me, and then to him, we thought maybe they got corrupted, so I brought them over on a disk, but that didn't help, not even the one file whose .pdf I generated myself would print.
So is this an issue that has come up--indesign-generated .pdf files being unprintable on a commercial printer but printable on a postscript machine.

    Dov and Al,
Yes, I'm sorry, I do realize that this isn't enough to diagnose a problem. I was hoping that this might be something that has come up before and someone would recognize.
As far as I could tell, he was opening up the print jobs in Acrobat and sending them to his printer, which had its own job monitor. When he consulted that monitor he just said, no, it won't print.
He's a smart guy and I've done a number of jobs with him that were generated in indesign, so I'm really at a loss to explain what has gone wrong with this one.

  • Net Book Not Responding

I have a Net Book NB 255-N250. I've had it for a little more than a year now and it has always preformed well. But in the last few months whenever I start a program, Internet explorer for example, The window will pop up and it will say Not Responding at the top. After say fifteen to thirty seconds the program will load and run normally. I defragment my computer about once a month and I have Trend Micro running on my computer which tells me there are no viruses. So what is going on here? Do I need to upgrade my memory or is there something else going on with my computer? My memory is 1G right now, looks like I could upgrade to 2G.

Ok, Computer finally started acting up again last night. I did the troubleshooting and as far as I can tell its Trend Micro that is causing the issue. The service is called Trend Micro Solution Platform. It  must have been an update they did that caused the problem because when it was first installed it didn’t affect my computer like that. But just to be sure Trend Micro is actually the problem here I’m going to run the computer for a week with it disabled to see if the Not Responding thing comes up again.
But now I have a new issue. I must have messed this up while I was messing around in the settings- When you hold the Function Key and press F4 for example, a thing is supposed to pop up on the screen and let you put the computer into hibernation mode. Nothing pops up anymore. Some of the functions still work (Mute, Sleep, Brightness adjustment, F10 and F11 whatever they are for) but that pop up wont come on the screen. The rest won’t work at all. How do I fix this? I use F2, F4, and F8 all the time and now they won’t do anything.

  • Canon IP7250 - Color won't print - Please help

I have a Canon IP7250, two day ago, my printer showed me error C000. I resolved this error, but now my printer won't printing in colour. Black working properly. I tried many times to cleaning a toner in mainteace. When I go to "print head alignment" then shows error 2500. ? In nozzle check black colour is excellent but no other colors on paper.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks.

Again, the username/password, would either be your logon username/password or your "root" username/password if you have enabled it.
Another option would be to update your CUPS software. Multi-functional printers are usually "tricky" to get full-featured drivers for. It's possible that a newer version for this particular printer may exist with an update.
Still another option (and possibly a better one) would be to download and install the latest Gutenprint printer drivers. These were formally known as Gimp-Print drivers. (ref: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3)

  • Won't print

I have reinstalled iphoto so it would no longer say it would not print due to no themes. Now it doesn't say anything, it just won't print.
I do have themes on my HD, not user. I have looked through the posts but haven't found anything that addresses my problem.
    Thanks,
    mleamy

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You may have to reinstall iPhoto anyway. Delete the current applicaiton, the themes folder and any file with iPhoto in the file name that resides in the HD/Library/Receipts folder. Reinstall iPhoto from the disk it came on, run the latest update, repair disk permissions, reboot and try again.
    Happy New Year
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
