Net extender flashing red or solid green sys light

I just had my net extender activated last week & have several issues:
1) the lights are blue, except the systems light will frequently return to flashing red or a steady green. I have shut down the extender for >30 sec w/o improvement, and I have shut down the router as well w/o success. It tends to interrupt my computer’s internet function when flashing. Any suggestions?
2) I use a sonic net extender from my home’s computer to access my work’s VPN line – is that compatible with the Samsung net extender?
Thx

    Hi help101,
Let's explore options to resolve this service issues! Some compatibility issues may certainly exist. You mentioned shutting down your extender for 30 seconds, and our troubleshooting guide indicates to disconnect the power supply from the extender for 30 seconds to reset. Please ensure you do this http://vz.to/y8v847 instead of powering off the unit and test. Keep us posted.

  • Why is my network extender flashing red and pink?

    hi,
I have had my Verizon extender for a while, I bought a new Motorola modem/router connected them up and now my network extender isn't blue like it was before.
the system band is flashing red and the gps band is solid pink.
I have unplugged it more than once and it still won't go back to blue!
    Any help please?
    thanks
    Karen

The breakpoint may not be as expected..
OPen the subVI and check to see if there is a red contour when it is not running.
If it is the case, use the brakepoint (pointer) and click onto a blank area inside the block diagram of the subVI. The red contour should dissappear.
Run the vi (main vi). See if it is okay.

  • Technicolor tg587n v3 Nothing but a solid green Eco light

    Hi all.
Woke up this morning to all indicator lights on the router being blank except the Eco light being a solid green.
I have tried a couple of standard resets and a couple of hard resets via the small pin button on the router with all cables plugged and unplugged with no avail.
Did read on another forum that the modem may be dying/dead.
I have had this router for a couple of years now and hasn't given me any major issue.
But looks like it might be time for a replacement.
Any help from the community would be great. Thanks in advance.

You could be right, it might be on its way out as several other posts suggest. I would give support a call on 132200 just in case the problem is on their end. https://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/Modems-Hardware/Eco-light-is-the-only-light-on-technicolour-tg587n-v3/td-p/88708

  • Pxi 8360 power led flashes red

I have a PXI 8360 MXI Express board mounted in a PXI 1050 chassis. I am seeing the power LED occasionally flash red and I lose communication with the computer. The power LED will return to solid green status after a few minutes but I am not able to do much with NI DAQ to test the system since it has failed self test. The suspicion here is the power supply may be bad but how do we check that.
The system with the computer has worked well over the past several years and we are concerned about possible damage from a power fluctuation that happened here around Christmas time.

    Hi Xavier,
The red flashing light is on the PXI 8360. I have not seen any flashing lights on the chassis.
The modules present in the system are
    PXI 8360  MXI Express
    PXI 4071  7 1/2 digit flex DMM
PXI 4110  Programmable DC power supply
    PXI 4110
    PXI 4110
    PXI 8252  1394 Host Adapter
    TB 2627  multiplexer terminal block
PXI 6289  M series multifunction DAQ
    SCXI 1306
    SCXI 1303
    SCXI 1303
    SCXI 1300
So far all testing has been done with all modules installed. Another person has tried reseating all modules to see if that would fix the problem but it does not.
The system will work fine for a few hours and then the blinking LED will begin and somewhere near that time the communications fail with the computer. The light will blink for a few minutes and then will return to solid green. Once the error has occurred it seems that the only way to re establish proper operation is to shut down the whole system, PXI chassis and computer, and restart. I saw one time where the power LED on the 8360 went from flashing red to solid green when the computer was turned off.
The computer is  a Dell Precision 690 with PCIe 8361.
I will be opening up the chassis hopefully in the next day or two to check fuses and voltages where I can.

  • Flashing Red / Green Sys LED

My Network Extender works off and on. I will have all blue lights, but when I check the NE later I will have a flashing red or green sys light and the other lights will still be blue. I don't know what is causing the issue. I have the GPS module right next to the sliding glass door.

I am having the same problem with a blinking red sys light and red gps light. The system has been working fine for months and without my changing anything at all, it stopped working yesterday. I am using the correct power supply. I have powered off and on the gateway and the extender several times. My zip is 94306 (although Verizon shows my device as nearby Los Altos 94022 where I think the tower might be). I have AT&T Uverse as my ISP with a standard 2wire modem/router gateway 3800HGV-B. • Sony Xperia M2 flashing Red LED light and wont turn on.

Okay so i have been having this problem for about a week.I tried turning on my phone the other day but it wasnt doing that so i thought maybe it ran out of battery then i let i charge for a couple of hours and left it untouched. When i came back my phone was flashing a red light and the sony logo would apear and my phone would vibrate but then it would shut down again. This has been happening for all week i let it charge overnight but still the same thing happens flashing red and vibrating.Sometimes the light dosent flash and i can turn my phone on for a while but i never know when it could randomly shut down.i tried using the Pc companion program to try and fix it but my phone wont stay on for long enough for it to be able to do that.Any tips on what i could do ? the last thing i wanna do right now is call sony so please if you know any possible way of fixing this let me know

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Have you tried to power on the phone without SIM- and/or SD-card to see if this can help? Otherwise, a software repair via PC Companion would be recommeded:
    http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/
In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.
Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it. When you are going to connect the phone, the phone should be completely off. Hold the ON/OFF button + volume up(+) for 10 seconds.

  • Any further options for fixing a network extender with flashing red sys light?

I've been using my network extender without any problem for a few years. Well, except it always had stopped working on occasion (maybe every 6 months) and I would have to toggle it back and forth between open access and managed on the Verizon site to get it working. That was fine, but this time it's been stuck on a slowly flashing red sys light. The power, gps, and wan lights are all solid blue. Eventually it will seem to start over with the cycle of leds but end up again at all blue except a slow flashing red sys light.
That was months ago and I've been struggling with it ever since with no luck. I tried calling support a couple of times but could never navigate through to any appropriate option for network extenders. Both times the automated system couldn't figure out what my issue was and hung up on me.
I tried power cycling my cable modem and router. I've tried the open/manage setting change on the My Verizon page for the extender. I've verified my router settings, though no equipment has been changed. I even tried assigning an IP to the network extender and configuring the correct ports for it (found a list of the port numbers somewhere else on this site).  I've of course tried leaving it off for a bit.. 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 10 hours, and ultimately a month or so. Nothing makes a difference and I'm still stuck with a slow flashing red sys light. It's frustrating as I general manage only 1 signal bar even at best in the house or around the yard. It's hardly usable even though the Verizon coverage map shows solid coverage all over my house and neighborhood.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.  Did the network extender simply die?  Is there any way to diagnose that for certain?

It is up and running again.
I just really wish they would have the courtesy to post on here, Facebook, Twitter, whatever, wherever, but to just let us know that there is a problem, they are aware of it, and are working to fix it.
For a communications company, so far I have not seen that they have any communication skills.

I have a Samsung Network Extender, model SCS-2U01, and for the past two weeks, the SYS light has gone from solid blue to a blinking red light, disconnecting me from my business calls. In reading the forums, it was mentioned that Verizon had to reset something on their end to fix the issue. Would you be able to confirm if something needs to be reset to fix the issue? Thank you!

First, try the normal stuff: power cycle your modem, router, and NE allowing time for each component to stabilize before turning on the next in sequence modem > router > NE. If necessary, try resetting your modem and router. If it still doesn’t work verify it is listed in MyVerizon and then calling Verizon Wireless Customer Service at (800) 922-0204. Good luck!

I have an Airport Extreme, the light is only flashing amber and won't go solid green. I use my ipad 2 to try and setup the Airport and I keep getting "an unexpected error occured, try again." I've tried my iphone 4 with the same result. I've tried the utilty on my pc and same result. The airport is producing a great wireless signal and working to all devices. I really just want to get in and set the password.

I have reset several times with no success.
When you did those resets, did you continue to hold in the reset button until the status light blinked several times?  If you didn't, then you didn't do a full reset.
Here's what I do to reset an AirPort base station:  I unplug it, press in the reset button, then, while continuing to hold in the reset button, I plug it in.  (Yes, doing this can be easier for people with more than two hands!)  I then watch the status light and wait until it flashes rapidly several times.
I have a Time Capsule that I couldn't configure at one point.  To recover from that I had to unplug it for many hours.  You might try unplugging your unit overnight.

  • My .5tb Time Capsule's orange light is flashing. The internet and everything utelse is working fine, and I'm all backed up, so howcome it doesn't show the solid green light? What should I do?

The orange light has been flashing for a couple days, and even if I unplug everything (Time Capsule & modem) and plug it all in again, still the flashing orange light. I'm sure it should be solid green. The internet connection seems to be working fine, so I'm wondering what's happening. What should I do?

I don't think Apple will want it.. you can sell it on ebay etc.. but it is not worth a lot.
Your TC needs a new power supply but it is now uneconomic to fix them. Apple do not supply any parts for their repair network.
If you want to repair it yourself you can ..

  • My z10 led flashing red when charging and even at battery full it blinks red. no green at any note..

My z10 led flashing red when charging and even at battery full it blinks red. no green at any notification. But at below 10% charging level it blinks with a combination of red and green. Please send me any settings to be changed if.. at full charged no green light is blinking.. how many colours does z10 led have..and when it works and how to make those settings..or was my led not working fine? I am worried so much..plz help me

Your LED is fine, on the Z10 there is not "network signal available" green LED, as you're accustomed to from the legacy devices. At reaching 10%, the LED will blink orange.
Red for message or applicaiton notifications.
if you want to edit and create specific LED color combination, see the third party apps such as BeBuzz or Hub++

  • Solid Green/Red Playback Monitor

I have just upgraded from CS4 to CS5.  I also just purchased a new Sony NEX-VG10.  I'm finding with the new camera that I occasionally get a clip that will not play properly in the monitor and it displays a solid green or red screen.  Sometime a clip with this problem will play the associated audio, others will not.  But I have found that it is very consistent in how each bad clip plays.  In other words the same clip will always display the same symptoms.
In a few cases a clip of say 30 seconds duration may play for 5-10 seconds normally, then it goes to red screen with no audio.  If I edit out the bad part and keep the rest there is no indication during playback that there was ever a problem with the remaining portion of the original clip.  But nothing I have tried will work to save the bad portion of the clip.
These are AVCHD files with .m2ts file extension.  I've tried a test project with some older .mts files shot on a Cannon and I'm not finding any of the green or red screen problems.  And I don't recall ever seeing that problem with CS4 either.  When I place 10 clips into the same sequence on the timeline there will be a solid yellow render bar, including above the bad clips.  I can tell right away which clips are bad because the thumbnail picture in at the start of the clip will be solid red rather than showing the first frame.  I've tried rendering the timeline but that makes no difference.  I have tried opening just the bad clip in a new project and get the same result.
If anyone has any ideas for what I might try to reveal the root cause of this problem I would really appreciate hearing them.  Could this possibly be a memory card problem??  When I play the video back in the camea all the clips play fine.  Perhaps something is being corrupted in the process of getting the video onto the computer??
Could this possibly be a hardware problem of some sort, in which case I will ask over in the hardware forum??
    Thanks

I played with it some more last night and found something interesting.  First off, I've only seen the green screen once that I can recall.  Red seems to be the most consistent indication of a problem.
The software that came with my camera has a built in tool that I didn't find before.  It will analyze the clips you have downloaded to look for problems.  Turns out that when I run the analyzer it identifies the same clips that show up red when I import them to PPRO.  So the problem appears to be something going wrong in the process of getting them from the camera to the HDD.
I will need to experiment with moving more files between the camera and the computer to see if I can find the cause of the problem.
    Thanks for the comments.

  • Why did mine stop working a few months ago? The Sys Light flashes red constantly - even after hours of being powered up.

I bought this last year - early summer. It worked great at first.
Sometime during the winter it stopped working with a constantly flashing red Sys light. I have tried many times to start it up, same issue even when leaving it powered up for hours. What is my next step in trouble shooting this issue?

Call Verizon Wireless Customer Service at (800) 922-0204 and verify the device is registered and working properly from there end. Good luck!

You want to see a green light on the Time Capsule.
Once you have set up the Time Capsule initially, a flashing amber light indicates that the Time Capsule has a message for you....possibly about a network condition or notice of an update that is available.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the amber dot and another window will appear to provide the current status....along with suggested actions to remedy the flashing amber light.

  • Green light mystery on network extender sys light

has anyone solved the green light mystery on network extender sys light
Message was edited by: Verizon Moderator <<>>

It didn't happen at all yesterday (that I noticed), but yes, when it happens, I have rebooted the NE. I have also rebooted the Cable Modem and the Router during these spells. The firmware on my router has been the same for the last year or so (the last time they released an update. I don't have any visibility into updates on my modem, but it's the same cable modem I've been using for years. During these times where the SYS light is Green, all the other lights are their normal blue.
Given that this setup has been working fine for a couple of years, and, when the lights are all blue, it still works fine, I'm wondering if there has been a code update on the Network Extenders recently, by chance?
