Netbeans Vs Eclipse .which one is best ?

My project work related to SNMP protocol. In my project I need to get and set data in a remote wireless device. for this , I want to know which one IDE (netbeans or eclipse) shall i use for my project.
now I am working in netbeans. but, the problem is it may strucking up some times and it takes some time while getting data and also at that time it struck.
If any one use the both IDEs, give your suggestions.

I use netbeans at work, I am currently using the
latest release. I find it quite slow, and it hangs
quite often for periods of anything between 10
seconds and 2 minutes.
One of my colleagues is now using eclipse as he was
having similar problems with netbeans, and I am
thinking of changing to eclipse.
I will wait until I get a ram upgrade for my work
machine though, as this could be the reason I am
experiencing this.I used to have this problem too whenever I unplugged my computer and it was running off of battery (I'm using a laptop). It frustrated me for a long time until someone suggested it was my power settings. I also noticed in the interim that it wasn't just NetBeans, it was all my Java programs. My graphics card (ATI Radeon) was optimizing for battery life when my computer wasn't plugged in. So I adjusted my power settings and now NetBeans works fine whether or not my computer's plugged in.
I did briefly use Eclipse before I changed my power settings, and it didn't seem to suffer from the same problems NetBeans did. I think it's due to the fact that NetBeans uses Swing whereas Eclipse uses SWT.

I will not qualify it as best. Best depends on your requirement. 2008 r2 is much cheaper than SS2012 and SS2014. First make sure what all features you need in your new environment. Please read below link for features supported by various editions of SQL

If it is a PowerBook G4 with a PC Card slot, you have two possibilities. You could buy a USB card reader for SD, or a PC Card adapter (such as SanDisk's 6-in-1adapter). Please note that you are or may be limited to plain SD (that is, not SDHC) unless otherwise noted. For a USB reader, make sure that it has Mac support. BTW, is an SD card absolutely necessary for the firmware update; is there not a way of updating via cable? If you post back with the camera model, someone may be able to provide additional information.

External control unit - which one works best?

i would like to buy an external control unit. which one works best with the final cut studio apps? as far as i know, there are three competitors, being:
TASCAM 1802, MACKIE CONTROL and Digidesign...
I would like to use the unit mainly for audio mixing and Transport functions. Maybe use some function keys for shortcuts... if the unit can be used also in Sound track pro it would not hurt But my major work is in FCP

I'd buy the Tascam 1802 as my control surface. Actually I'm saving my pennies to get one.
I have a Mackie Onyx 1640 with the Firewire card and I love it to pieces as a field mixer. But I can't get it to work well with my apps as a control surface. Maybe I should check and see if Mackie has improved the software.
But I'd go with the Tascam for FCP control surface use. You might get away with one of their smaller models if you don't need that many faders.
Save some money that way, maybe. Leave you more to send to Apple, MOTU, DigiDesign, Bias, and Waves for software upgrades. I mean, we all understand that those folks need our money way more than we do, right? Heh, heh, heh...

I know I use Airprint for my mobile gadgets, but when setting up a new HP officejet printer in system prefs for my Macbook Pro and my Macbook Air, I have a choice between using Airprint as the driver OR using HP Printer Software specific to my printer as the driver.....which one is best to use?

NetBeans or Eclipse: Which is better for GUI development ?

I am relatively new with JAVA, came from embedded software domain mostly in C.
My interest is to learn and develop the GUI applications using Swing.
I am currently in a process of evaluating the IDEs, Eclipse and NetBeans on Linux desktop environment (SuSE 10.3).
My primary findings found that, NetBeans is better equipped with GUI development while Eclipse needs to have a plugin installed.
For GUI development, I found that few of my fellow Java developer friends have mixed feelings about these two wonderful IDEs, in summary here are the comments:
1) Developing GUI is better without any assistance from built in designers of IDEs (e.g. NetBeans or Visual Swing of Eclipse). Because, they put extra 'garbage" codes which are very much IDE specific.
2) GUI development in NetBeans is faster and more productive than Eclipse
3) Visual Swing for Eclipse is not a matured product and it is far inferior than NetBeans' capabaility
Now I ask a question, what is the best practice to adopt for starting the GUI development ? NetBeans or Eclispse or IDE-less development ?

IDE-less development ?IMO: that is just silly. Unless you just enjoy tons of typing; why would you ever embark on doing something without a tool to speed up the process. Now that is not to say that in using your IDE you should start out by just dragging and dropping up a storm and merrily running down the road in ignorance until you hit a rough spot and have things dramatically pointed out that you've really not a clue about what is happening. Use the IDE, but learn how to do the manual processes along with it. That means that sometimes you'll not drag and drop to build your GUI, you'll actually code the entire thing. And you really should learn to do things command-line like compile. Do yourself a really big favor too, learn the debugger. The integrated debuggers is, perhaps, one of the best inventions in productivity tools that has as of yet been invented for developers.
In any case, have fun... choose what you like, it really does come down to personal preference. I've worked in several shops over the years and most have come to the conclusion that if you can get the work done, and have projects that others can use, then to each their own preferences. The discussion rages on for and against each of the systems that you have mention--each have valid arguments--it boils down to what do you want and like.

Quiet simple indeed, looks like the old publish and subcribe feature, but...
As you can see in my earlier post it's a Citymap, this means i've got hundreds of streetnames all over the place..
place it in several documents one say for each region.
Oké, let's get it right, I Place (link) the original AI file in several "documents" either illustrator or indesign.
This means i've got, upon saving the original, several documents ("regions") with the SAME AI file in it, true..
let's take ID as the final layout program for each "region" and positioning each region in a rectangle frame.
Now here's my problem,;
if this was only vector art,( Roads, Area fills, landmarks etc and NO text) there's no problem at all.
But I've got several text which has to be in Region A, partial in Region B but Not C... and text that has to be in all of them.
So if I save the file for region A it's not usable for Region B,C etc.
In the case of an Atlas of the complete citymap every "page" (region) has got it's one specific layers to be on and off.
Upon save of the original (set to be oké for page 1) , it is also updated in page 2,3,4 etc but WRONG.
( one document for each page, and then again one Export for each page to be printed)
The use of linked EPS (PDF, etc) is in my opnion a better solution because of there specific output. (only for 1 page ("region")
Doing this from whitin the original, layers on/off and export just that specific portion for layout/print.
Or am I missing something?
Besides that when I place(Link) the original AI file in ID it's bounding box is the size of the original document and not the size of the piece I only want to see...
So don't get me wrong again, don't be offended, I only want to get things completely clear for future use of AI and a consistend workflow!

Imovie or final cut express, which one works best?

I am sick and tired of all the bugs in imovie. And I feel bad for everyone who are going out of their minds with soooooooo many problems with imove. I'm ready to buy final cut express, but does any one know if final cut express will run alot smoother and more relieable than imovie?

I also use iMovie (pref v6) and FinalCut Express (3.5.1) and FCP (5.x.?).
FinalCut Express and Pro are rather same in work flow. iMovie is mentally
somthing completely different.
You need to be a very organized person to get the best of FCE eg. numbering all
Your tapes (tape unique numbering), preparing a structure from beginning etc.
BUT: The freedom of about 99 video and audio tracks. Resizing a video track
above another (pic-in-pic), rotating a slightly off horizon eg 2 deg, color-
correction (much better than in iMovie), Green/blue screen and so much more
that needs plug-ins to iMovie (with a cost) as standard.
Can give Your creativity a real spinn.

I currently own a Windows Desktop which I use for gaming, DPP etc. but as I'm going to college I need a decent laptop to use whilst on campus and on the move (trains) to do coursework etc. and I've always wanted a MAC. So, I decided "Why not?"
I just can't decide between the
MD101B/A
(13" NON-Retina - 500GB HDD)
or the
ME864B/A
(13" Retina - 128GB SSD)
(I'd be kicking myself for not getting a retina display - it looks so good on my iPhone!)
I was wondering, from other MAC users, whether the 128GB can be upgraded? Or if not, is it still a substantial amount?

Since, at present, and possibly even into the future, you cannot upgrade the storage space on a Retina machine, you'd be better off upgrading the storage space beyond 128GB. That's an awfully low amount of space. If you go with the Retina machine, I would make certain to get at least 256GB of storage space and at least 8GB of RAM.
