NETCH Planning

Hi All,
I am facing very weird Planning issue. Any Sales Order made in 2010 are considered as separate requirement and result in separate PR for PO. This is creating problem as PR rounds up to the minimum quantity to be ordered which results in much more quantity getting shipped to store than what they actually need.
I believe it is happening due to Sales Order/requirement in separate calender years i.e. 2010 and 2011. Please correct me if I am wrong in believing so.
Is this the right way NETCH is supposed to behave?

No it does not have Sales Order Account assignment. The process is -
Sales Order-> Requirement Planning generates PR -> STO generated from PR for DC to Store Goods shipment
Normally Requirements Planning groups together all the requirements for same article in single requirement and then ships the rounded quantity. Ex: Let's say there are 3 SO's for 3,7 & 10. It will add all of them i.e. 20 and ship the pallet which contains 30 pcs. What we are facing is that if qty of 3 was from SO made in 2010 it will ship 2 pallets of 30 instead of grouping all requirements and shipping 1 pallet.
Please do tell me in case this explanation clears my issue.

PP- MPS on Planning mode 2 (Re-Explode) create PldOrders

Dear all,
We want to RUN MPS for Products (MRP type M0) only for Re-explode Bom components and not for PldOrd creation .
We are running a background Job for re-explode with following parameters:
Processing key - NETCH
planning mode - 2
schedule lines -1
Create MRP list -1
Create purchase req. -1
Scheduling -2
The re-explosion of all plan orders are OK, but the MPS creates new Plan Orders if check new needs !!!

Re-exposion is form of planning with reading fresh components from BOM when you re-run the MRP and if you go the basics of MRP then output of MRP is always either planned order or purchase requisations hence you cannot avoid this.
There might be other work around to avoid planned order after MRP run such using switching off planning within bill of material for selected components or to all componnets. or use do not plan "dependent parts" in MRP4 view. OR use MRP type no planning "ND" to all components.

Planned order with Lot size and Planning Calendar in MRP

I am executing MRP on 7.04.11
As shown above the, can you please explain why the planned order is on Wed 12th and it covers 5 days requirement and similarly Tuesday 19th and covers 6 days.
I am not able to relate the relation between Planning calendar and Lot size procedure used. Also what would happen if I make planning calendar valid for two days in a week.

Yes you are right the Planning Calendar starts 18.4.11 and ends 24.4.11
Now as far as first planned order is concerned I thought it should be scheduled to start&end on Monday 11.04.11, rather it starts&ends on Tuesday 12.4.11. Also the actual coverage days goes up to 5 days even though its maintained for 3 days.
Similarly the second planned order also comes up on Tuesday 19.04.11 and covers 6 days (more than the setting and planning Calendar of only Monday)
On the whole this is confusing me on Lot size and Planning Calendar relation and how it impacts MRP. Can you please help me on this.
Also if you can throw some details on: how to restrict MRP to give planned order only on, say, Monday and Thursday, as only then it could be produced.

MRP run problem

Hi experts,
During MRP run for a material , open PO quantity is not considered If delivery date mentioned in that open PO exceeds 110 days from planning date(MRP run date). If it is less , it considers open PO quantity.
MRP type = V1 (Reorder point planning)
Lot size = HB
planned delivery time = 0 days
What could be the reason for it? Pls help me out.

When u keep your planning horizon 100 and in MD02 if ur using NETCH planning then system will consider the planning in between 100 days only If your open PO in out of planning horizon then it will not consider for the same.
If u want to do the same u have to go for increase ur planning horizon time in OPPQ.

Creation of MRP Batch job

I need to create a MRP batchjob for one of my plant u2013 9030.I need to know the below highlighted details,

Timing : 01.00 (during the night)
Step user :
Please help me to proceed with creation of MRP batchjob.
My requirement is to run MRP every night that reschedule the purchase order and create new purchase requestion in Total Horizon.
Need any further input please let me know.
PS:I also refer MDBT for the MRP jobs whihc already created for some other plants but seems to be different from the above requirement.

For the job which you refer to, go to the spool & study the section 'Runtime statistics'. It will let you know which section took how much time & based on that you would be able to infer what has caused the delay & thereby take suitable actions.
Also note, there is no generic rules as such, each case has to be analyzed if there is a delay. But in general it is better to ensure your planning file entries are consistent, processing key - NETPL or NETCH & planning mode is 1.
I guess this thread has gone way beyond the initial posting, so for any further analysis on this MRP job I would strongly suggest that you sit down with the MRP controller & analyze the same. I am quite sure it shouldn't be difficult in interpreting the results.

Mrp not taking materials in to consideration.

I am running MRP for the first time for the plant. when i run MRP its not picking all the materials in the plant. I am using NETCH planning. but when i run MRP for each material its working good. why is this happening. what should I do

I think problem is due to planning file entry is not maintain for all the Materials.
MRP is carrid out during MD02 that means Planing and Planning File entry both are activated, but problem might be is Materials are created before MRP that's why auto maintanance of entry in planning file is not activate for those materials.
So what you have to do is maintain planing file entry either by using MD20 or by schduled job using T.Code OMD0.

Updation of the indicators of NETCH & NETPL in Planning File entry(MD21)

Hi,
Can anyone explain me when the indicators-NETCH & NETPL will be updated in Planning File entry table(tcode-MD21) for a material in a specific plant .
Actually, we observed that these indicators are updated only when we do Goods Issue through backflush during Production order confirmation. If i do goods delivery using tcode-VL01N(mtype 601), these indicators are not updated in planning file entries.Can anyone suggest me what could be the reason for this.

"The planning file record for a material also has a u201C_net change planning in the current horizonu201D field which will be set if the change in the materials receipt or issue_ element is valid in the planning horizon. This indicator will help you choose only those materials which have undergone a change in the planning horizon; through the use of a planning key, in an MRP run, called u201CNet change planning in the planning horizonu201D.

MRP AREA NETCH indicator missing in planning file entry

Hi,
MRP has been activated at MRP area level storage location level and there were no planning file entries for some materials because we were using the LSMW program RMDATIND for uploading the materials and there was no update flag for Planning File entries. Later we have updated the Direct input session with update Flag.
I already ran the MDAB and MDRE so by the missing planning file entries.
We are running the background job RMMRP000 for the MRP. There are some materials which are not being planned in the background job. When i run the MRP for the same materials in MD02/MD03, the procurement proposals are being created using MD02/MD03.
I checked in MD21, we can see the Planning file entries then there no indicator for NETCH.
What could be the reason?

The Planning Horizon entry for your plant must be 110 or more. Check it out in OMI8. Click on the 'Maintain' button after entering ur plant, click on 'Planning Horizon' to see the entry.
For open PO qty to be considered, try running MRP run with processing key as 'NETCH' in MD02 or whichever t-code u use this doesn't take planning horizon into account.

MRP Issue: Planned orders Vs Pur Requisition

HI All.
I have a query on MRP.
We run Total planning for a plant in a night batch job The parameters for variant are as below
Planning Run Type: NETCH
Creation Indicator for Pur Req 2.
Planning Mode 3 Delete & recreate order proposals
Scheduling type Lead time scheduling
For example MRP runs on 19th Jan & for a given material, a planned order is created as the lead time 10 day & the requirement date is 15 Feb.
Now as normal proedure, when the opening date in the planned is reached, MRP should delete this planned order & create a Pur Requisition. But this is not happening even though we have used the planning mode 3 (delete & recreate order Proposals)
There is no planning file entry for the material after the initial MRP run. Is this the reason that the target material is not picked up in the planning.
Any suggestions on this.

If Requirement is 15 Feb System Calculates and Gives the proposal for 05 Feb. As you may know there is one more Schedule Margin Key and itu2019s a buffer time before and after Procurement prosal. May be its affecting your Openeing period. Please Check the Paramaters in Material Master 1. Schedule Margin Key,2. GR Processing time, Lead Time and planning time Fence(During this Period System Doesnt Allow Automatic changes,,

Setting nedded for creation of Planned Order for Dependent Requirement.

Hi PP Gurus,
I have a one material for which I m running MRP which have three Components.
I m using strategy 10 for FG and SFG also.
When I m running MRP for FG the system is creation planned order for FG, but not for SFG even though no stock available for them.
I m using lot size EX for all SFG.
Please Help.

You should maintain proper MRP related parameters for both FG and SFG.Check all the MMR parameters :
1.MRP Type -PD for FG/SFG
2.Procurement Type -E for FG/SFG
3.Planning Startegy -10 in FG
4.BOM/Routing Explosion -Keep it Blank
5.Indiviaul/Collective Indicator -not applicable as it is MTS so keep it blank
6.Validity of BOM /Routing should be corrcet before MRP run in MD02-NETCH , 2,1,3,3,2
7.What is the Lot Sizing Set up-EX in OMI4-Scheduling Tab -Requirement date =Delievery Date and BOM Validity Date .

8.Check in MRP4 -MRP Dept Requirement Parametre should be balnk for plalling the SFG in MMR of FG -MM02
I hope this issue may be with BOM explosion as per the validity and lot size -schedueling set up .

1.Goto MD61 with User parameters like Plant , Requirement type , Version and Planning Date .Then Select the Material Radio Buttion with FG item code .
2.Enter the FG qty as required in each month as demand
3.GotO MD02-Single Item ,Multi Level with indicator : NETCH , 2,1,3,3,2 and Execute the MRP to create the Planned order for FG
4.Check the result in MD04
There is no SAP Standard Traction to Mass creation of Planned Order .That is possible in Demand Creation and MRP run .

OPPP change is not triggering planning file entry flag?

We use alternate BOMs for a particular subassembly and depending on requirements
shuffle between BOMs using a different alternate for a certain time period.
However when we change the alternate in OPPP it is not triggering the change in the planning file.
Is there something we are missing here.

Frist of all , there is no such cutomisation to have planning file entry of any material.Planning files entries is the first step which checks by the MRP during the MRP run. if no entries are found for the selected parts then MRP will not plans these parts. You can create/check the planning files entries from T Codes-MD20/MD21 even before you creat FG BOM .
Planning file entries will be created automatically when you enter the relevent MRP type (example PD) in the material master MRP1 view. OR when there was a change relevent to MRP like stock change due to moveement type/GR/GI or change in material master data.
MRP does planning file rentry based on the MRP relevent changes like you have FG and valid BOM .Now based on the FG MRP4 BOM Slection Explosion method , MRP will explode the BOM from lowest level and there will be planning file entry while executing MRP on FG based on the FG requirement and dependent relation in BOM .
In you case , please check the following ;
1.Whether you have kept other alternative BOM status as Inactive-2 Iin CS02-BOM Header -Status long text and also re-assing this in Routing CA02 with correct valaidty .Check the validity of the BOM alternative which u have included for sub-assbly
2.You have all the material master parameters [MRP1-MRP4 view ] all in place specially MRP type PD, Procurement Type E or F
3.Specially , check BOM explosion /selection methods in SFG/FG level in MRP4-Sleection methoids should Blank or 1 BASED ON QTY OR maintain producxtion version with selection indicator 2 or 3.
4.BOM should have usage -1-Production , Status-1 -Active.
5.Run MRP-MD02-NETCH, 2,1,3,3,2

Updation of indicators in planning file MD21

When the indicators inside the planning file entry (MD21) gets updated e.g. NTECH, NETPL & reset props. I observed that even for newly created materials these indicators are updated & for old materials which had gone through MRP run are appearing as blank in planning file.

Hi,
Planning file enrty is the prerequisite for MRP run. The entry in this file is created only when a plant is made relevant for MRP. This is done in SPRO by transction OMDU. Once the plant is activated for MRP, system creates planning file entries for all the material that undergo change relevant to MRP.
For example, when a new material is created, entry in planning file is created with total change indicator (NETPL) as well as net change indicator (NETCH). The indicator of "Reset proposal" also gets selected at the time of material creation.
These indicators are reset after every MRP run. The system sets total change indicator and/or the net change planning indicator (depending on the planning horizon) as soon as MRP relevant changes are made in these mateirals.
for example, if you have a material with 50 days of planning horizon and you create PIR that falls on 60th days, then system will set on NETCH indicator, but if you create PIR on 40th day, system will set both the indicators (NETCH & NETPL)

Question on Planning File entry

Hi all,
Whenever a material master is changed with relevant MRP data, there will be a planning file entry for NETCH, NETPL. And after the MRP run, it will be reset. So I would like to know whether the materials which are reset (there is not entry for NETCH, NETPL) will be considered for the next MRP run. When i see the list in MD21, i can see the materials without NETCH, NETPL.
So I would like to know when you run the total MRP (MD01), the materials which are reset will be planned or not? Or should we manually create the planning file entry?

system won't consider the material in MRP run.
NO need to create planning file entry manually ( because that material does n't have any changes related to MRP, so if u create manually also, system won't plan)
