Netflix and YouTube 4k videos - Ghosting and/or Flickering

I have a Model 58L8400U 4k TV
Whenever I try to watch Netflix or YouTube 4k videos the sceen starts to either ghost or flicker - I than have to unplug the TV for 3-5min and it will work fine again. This happens everytime you switch from watching satelite back to Netflix.
What is the problem?

Tried that and they are every bit of useless!!! They have zero clue as to what they are doing - All they want you to do is perform a master reset of the TV. Did that 3 tines with them and guess what, STILL THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!

Why isn't Netflix and youtube playing videos on my ipad

Every time i try to watch a video on Netflix or youtube it wont play. The videos wont load. I tried using the apps and safari and google chrome but no videos will play this first happened yesterday.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Also, make sure your internet connection is working.

In youtube, certain videos jitter and shake

This is at 480p but my macbook can handle 1080p videos. The sound is okay on the videos that jiter aswell.
The videos work fine on other computers aswell.
I went to the genius bar today and they wiped my Hard-drive. It was fine after that, so I upgraded to 10.6.7 and what not, got latest flash and it's shaking again ...
Anyone have any ideas? It's a macbook, white unibody with 2.26ghz intel core 2 duo, 2gb ram and 9400gt gfx card I think

I have the same problem as the original poster...it's rather annoying. It happens in Firefox 5.0.1, the latest version of Google Chrome, AND Safari.
At 360p and 240p, the video runs just fine but as soon as I bump it up to 480p, 720p, or 1080p, it becomes really choppy and the video stutters. The audio remains fine however.
For example, the music video for the Pet Shop Boy's "West End Girls" song has this effect.

However some other videos do not have this jitter effect and run perfectly fine such as the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 Trailer" or even the Pet Shop Boy's music video for "Love etc."

Download and playback of video podcasts and vodcasts

Hi Folks,
I have looked at the Classic features manual, looking for info on downloading *video podcasts* and Vodcasts into itunes, and playing them in ipod Classic. I couldn't get from the manual what I needed to understand the video issue . Does anyone have any advice, anything that I should know, or do, before downloading and playing these two types of video? I have read bits here and there about having to chang format of videos for successful download to itunes and playback on Classic. I am not techy enough to understand. (Just as info, I downloaded "Best of YouTube." It promptly locked itunes forever. I couldn't even uninstall itunes and reinstall. I had to create another User on my computer, in order to get itunes again.)
Questions:
1) Do I have to do some sort of conversion to download and play *video podcasts* and Vodcasts?
2) Are *video podcasts* different from Vodcasts? Or are they the same format--just named differently? Is there anything that I need to do differently in the download process and playback of these two types of video? (FYI--The Bill Moyers show on PBS is where I was confronted with the *Vodcast.

you don't need additional tools to load the podcast or video podcast to your ipod, excepting an ipod manager like itunes, floola or juice.
Just provide the feed into the ipod manager that you use and you are done. Probably the simplest option is to go with itunes. You need an internet connection though.

Soundcloud and youtube streaming is glitchy and echoing

soundcloud is very bad when playing music, and youtube has similar skipping sound but it is not as bad as soundcloud... this is only happening for maybe one week

Mac Pro Locked Up and Now One Video Card and Audio Not Working

Last night, my Mac Pro totally locked up to the point I had to power it off to get it to do anything. When restarted, one of my video cards and my audio are no longer working. I have dual monitors so tried switching the connections to see if it was the monitor and that was not the problem.
I tried doing a formal shutdown after the restart and this also did not clear up my problem.
Everything was working fine prior to the lockup. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Podcasts and tv shows videos stop and start when playing. The Audio flows fine, but video freezes for a moment and continues. Do you know what I can do to fix?

When watching a podcast or tv program on itunes the video freezes and starts. The audio still flows just fine. Do you know what the solution might be?

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

Safari And YouTube HD Videos

I have just discovered something very interesting. When I access HD YouTube videos using Safari, I am only given two options, 360p and 480p. I opened up Firefox 3.6 and Opera 10.10 (both the latest versions of the browsers) and I had the option of watching it in 720p also. Has anyone else noticed this with Safari and is there a setting that I can enable in Safari to watch HD YouTube videos in 720p? If not, thank goodness I have other browser options.

Adobe Flash and Flash based Video Players and the ps command

OK, I have two v20z servers. I just reinstalled Solaris 08/07 on both of them. These are both Sunray servers. One of the servers is fully patched and has SRSS 4.0 installed and serving Sunrays just nicely. I just finished installing Solaris on the 2nd server.
On the first one I'm not sure what whacked things, the patches or SRSS
If I go to a site with a flash based video player like youtube, Firefox or Mozilla will freeze untill the video is fully streamed.
Also on this server the "ps" command is super slow. I like to do ps -efa|grep whatever to find processes. This unbearably slow on this 1st server.
On the 2nd server I haven't yet patched it or installed SRSS. I think though it's the patches and not SRSS
On this server the Flash 7 that comes preinstalled works fine on streaming videos. It also works fine with Flash version 9,0,47,0. I even copied the 9,0,47,0 version of flash from the server that where flash is freezing, so it's not flash that is the problem I don't think.
Normal flash animations work fine, it's just flash based streaming video players.
Something after patching seems to have done this
Anyone else have a really slow ps and flash that freezes the browser while watching videos?

My Mac Pro has recently come down with a "bug". When i open multiple windows they don't seem to cope well with each other and parts of the window behind will still show through the window in front in fragments. When downloading, the loading bar will also flicker and partly show the dialog box behind. The only thing that fixes the broken up windows/dialog boxes is to minimize then maximize again. At first i thought it was a memory issue but the problem occurs with no applications running except for finder. I have done several restarts, updated my software and have checked my hard drive in disk utility and everything appears okay?
I can still operate the machine but it's getting a little annoying. Can anyone help me here?

Try installing multitouch, and then see, while in windows, if you've successfully installed multitouch and multitouch mouse, you should have those drivers. Also check if you've installed trackpad and trackpad enabler.

Streaming video issues i.e BBC iplayer and Youtube with Firmware 3.1.2

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with a particular problem.I bitterly regret installing 3 as all it has done is added some shake and shuffle nonsense that I never use, and a voice memo thing that I never use. It has also slowed the boot up of the device and also where video streams from the above for example used to play without interruption, now i constantly have the device pause and have the play touch control come up, i press play and it will continue for a few seconds and then freeze again. It has got to the stage where using BBC iplayer and youtube has become frustrating and impossible and it only has started after version 3 firmware was installed. It is an Ipod Touch 2nd Gen bought in Jan this year. With version two the videos played consistently and smoothly. Why do I now have this problem and why do apple encouraged the use of update software that retards the performance of the device. What benefits does it have? Should I continue updating this device or can I ask apple to restore version 2 to the device which ran much better!

It's not the 3.x software per se, it's how it is interacting with your wireless network. If you haven't done so, download and install the latest firmware for your router and make sure your network is providing the speed and stability you need. Solve that and your YouTube problems will be less.

Netflix /youtube is very slow and jerky

My macbook pro is a 2.43 GHz intel Core duo with 4GB of memory. I updated to Maverics and Netfix and youtube became very slow and jerky.
Even moving the mouse causes probles with playback.
This does not happen my wifes mac book pro, or my small windows laptop and it did not happen untill I updated to maverics.
Any suggestions?

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Some videos stop and go whats going on?

I have owned an iphone for a couple of weeks. It seems that often (or maybe always) when playing a video from apps and youtube, the video keeps stopping. If you keep pressing the play button, the video may play for a couple of seconds but then stops. This happens with my daughters iphone bought at the same time. What is happening?
Please Help ASAP...

What's happening is the video is playing faster than it can be downloaded, so it stops often. The trick is to let your iPhone decide on when to start playing the video... it will start the video automatically when it determines that you can watch the entire video without stopping and waiting for the download to catchup.

Weird Video problem and kernel panic!

Okay, so last ngiht I was running tech tool maintenence, and I had repair on. So, it finished scanning my startup volume (I was on my eDrive) and then I shut down and restarted. Now, it tried to start from my startup volume (tiger 4.7, with latest updates) and it says you need to restart your computer (which means there is a kernel panic, am I right?) I try safe mode to no avail, I even reset the PMU and reset the PRAM (but I didnt hear the starup noise again). So, I put in my backup HD, and it starts up, but wait! Now the video is horribly wrong! It is all in TERRIBLE quality and in mostly only greys, I mean it looks like a 4 mb vram video card, there are very few pixels of color( there are some intermitedly) and there is terrible ghosting, and I can barely read anything. so, I checked my display, and universal access settings, and fooled around with those, and nothing happened. So, now I try and start from my eDriveand it start, but now it has the same horrible color problem as my other drive. Oh boy, this is a new computer, and I already have a kernel pnic, and a video problem, what can I do? Thanks for any help. Matthew. I have a sawtooth, a radeon 9200 flashed video card, and the latest tiger.

What if you tried running mplayer with the following command :
mplayer -fs -zoom filename
As for the "too pixelish" problem well... you could try increasing the "nice" level (at least in VLC). For the other video players I don't know.

QT Pro - edit and re-sync video music?

I have a video in M4v format and have quicktime pro
Can I use QT Pro to edit the video in places and speed up the video slightly (to lipsync to a faster song) and add the new song to my soundtrack all in QT Pro? then render as a new video?

You cannot speed up the movie in Quicktime (in playback you can, it doesn't stick). You can edit (cut parts out) which will make it shorter, obviously, then you want to make it shorter (in duration) still by increasing the speed of playback, then once you have the video at that speed you want to add a new audio track that is also the same speed, is that a good summary?
I thought iMovie offered a speed change function (in iMovie 6 - the rabbit and hare sliders - it has been quite a while) so you could get the video to the right length in that and export the video only and add the audio, of course you can also just add the audio in iMovie and probably sync it better as it is quite visual in that application.
