Netflix/Apple TV should have a "resume play" option...let's make it happen!
Netflix's Roku Box is cheaper and has a "resume playback" button which holds your place when you watch a movie and want to revisit at a later time. With apple tv, you have to start allllll the way from the beginning and fast forward to where you left off (if you even remember where you left off). I am beginning to regret buying apple tv and think the apple team should update the software to include a resume play option so that it holds your place where you left off.
If anyone else agrees, let's tell the feedback peeps we want it added, otherwise why not just buy a cheaper roku box??!!!

Netflix on Apple TV definitively has resume playback option. Actually the same "resume playing / start from beginning" than the renting from iTunes store on the Apple TV. Don't know why you haven't seen it.

I think we should have been given the option to have our books moved from iTunes to iBooks. I think IPhones or all keyboards on apple products should have a swipe keyboard.
I think iPhones should have a swipe keyboard like androids.. I'm tired of typing they need to give something a new try so I said swipe keyboard

No Picture on 'Resume Play' Option When Home Sharing on ATV Gen 3
Everything seems to work fine when you 'Start from Beginning' when home sharing, but as soon as I go to fast forward or 'Resume Play' if I have watched a little bit on my MBP, the screen freezes or is black. There is sound and there will be no skipping of the sound; also, the movie loads fine, but there is no picture unless I restart from the beginning. I can also fast forward on Netflix and Hulu Plus just fine with no picture/sound issues so I know that it isn't my internet connection. I am on Version 5.3 (6105) with a wired connection to my router.
From iTunes Menu Advanced select -> Turn Off Homesharing
Repeat that an every computer
The Turn On Homesharing again - Use the same ID/PW that you use / have used for purchasing songs on every computer -
i just got a ipod and i can't find my wi-fi password im so mad i have alot of networks but it wont let me make a password and i have tried to find my wi-fi password is there an app or something that can help me get wi-fi on my ipod i feel so sad knowing that i cant even do anything with it
You need to contact the people who administer the networks to get the passwords for the networks. If there was such an app as you are asking for then passwords for wifi networks would be worthless.

My Imac should be able to get the recopie video via Air play because it is from Mid 2011.

their drivers should be available through Apple Software Updates:

You may be able to get a deal on a new printer as they are rapidly obsoleted.
PS: edit to add... there was a Gutenprint driver reference for T65 Printer here:

Yet a driver for ancient Leopard 10.5.x may not be suitable for Mavericks 10.9.x
but the Gutenprint lead may be helpful to locate whatever may exist; or not.

In iTunes 10 I can see the apple tv but have lost the menu options
I am currently running iTunes 10 and 2 apple tv,s 1st generation. I can see the apple tv in the iTunes device list and when I select can see the device. Previously I used to be able to select what music movies tv Shostakovich etc that I synced with the apple tv, now I am only able to see settings and photos. I no longer have the opportunity to select some and have to access via streaming to my desktop.
Can someone advise f this is part of an iTunes upgrade or what I need to do to get the functionality backWelcome to the Apple Community.
Sounds like your Apple TV has been set to streaming only. Select settings/computers/library from the Apple TV and disconnect, then settings/computer/connect to iTunes and re-connect. -
So I rented a movie using iTunes and my AppleTV device. I chose the option Rent and Watch later. I have been charged the rental fee. Yet, whenever I try and download the movie, I choose it on iTunes/Appe TV and am told that I have already rented it and I need to check the download status, via Settings, iTunes account, Check for Downloads.
Everytime I get to the Check for Downloads option, the system gets stuck. The cursor device simply spirals and spirals and spirals.
Any ideas as to what to do?

BenedictSame error message, I disabled tab mix and made sure I only have the newest version of Java, restarted firefox, now it seems to be fine no error yet on Pogo games or pictures upload to ebay which were the biggest problems besides hanging. I had also had disabled AVG secure search yesterday but that did not solve the issue. Now I will try to add back in AVG search...I have very few adds ons, also the note embedded about re- installing a toolbar went away, my old one did not work with FF4, so I installed Yahoo toolbar but the message still did not go away until I applied this fix. Hopes this helps someone..

i have just made my apple id. i have made this for itunes. after making my account i have problem with the review payment information as i do not use any credit cards and there is no option like NONE in review payment information. what should i do now? to proceed further? plz help me!
How did you create the account ? If you followed the instructions on this page when creating it then you should have got the 'none' option : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
e.g. on a computer's iTunes, if currently signed into an account then you logged out of it, and you then found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :
And then clicked on 'create Apple id' on the popup :
When I tried that process to create an account a few days ago I got the 'none' option on the payment details screen.
If you didn't use that process then you will need to create a new account using it (the instructions won't work with an existing account). -
My apple (undeletable app) have dissappeared

I hate to tell you this, but you're on your own.
Jailbroken devices can NOT be discussed here per the Terms of Use for these forums. That's undoubtedly what hosed you. You should probably look for help among the jailbreak community.
The only thing we can recommend that you might be able to do is putting your phone in DFU mode and restore it as a NEW device.
Your phone may be permanently borked at this stage. -
If we pause while watching HBO video on demand for more than 5 minutes, it returns to the selection screen - which is fine. One of the options is to "Resume Play", but when we select that, it does not resume play from where we paused. Instead, it just goes back to the very beginning (including the advertisements/previews of other shows)....and it only allows 2x fast forward speed to get back to where you left off.
I called tech support, and after resetting my box, and discussing whether a new DVR box would help, I was told that this is a "known issue" with "no fix". The only hope is that the technology will some day allow this.
This is annoying, but I can accept this...except:
1) why have a "resume play" button when you can't actually "resume"?
2) given this technological limitation, why not at least enable 8x fast forward?
3) this is not an issue when we watch live tv and pause for long periods of time - nor is it an issue when we watch any streaming things through Roku - so obviously the technology is available and in use, even with Fios (unless there is some difference between streaming live TV versus on-demand shows).
We subscribed to HBO just so we could watch some of the older shows and series that we can access on demand. However, the frustration at not being able to pause/play makes this much less attractive and we are reconsidering our HBO subscription.If you search the forums for VOD resume you'll find a number of threads about this issue. In at least one of those threads a Verizon employee announced a new software roll-out to correct the issue and then announced the new software didn't fix the problem after all.
This is indeed a known problem. Personally, I use VOD to rent movies but I've stopped doing that until the resume issue is correct. It ruins the experience if you can't answer a phone call, or take a potty break, etc. etc., without having to start a movie from the beginning.
It can't hurt to reboot/reset your STB but I'll be very (and pleasantly) surprised if it helps in this situation. -
I have an iphone 3gs. It was jail broken. I reset it back to factory settings and now all i have on the screen is the apple logo.I have hooked the phone upto itunes but nothing is happening. What do i do? Can someone help please???

You can only get help from those people who told you to modify the software, only they know what the jailbreak did to the firmware. -
I don't seem to have the genius playlist option on my iPod touch 5th generation-what to I do???
I didn't jailbreak my ipod or download any pirated stuff. I actually only found out that my ipod should have the genius playlist option after reading a review on it. But when I checked under playlists in my music app, only the 'purchased' playlist is showing. What do I do to get the genius playlist?????
