About a month ago,I could no longer access my 401k info via Firefox.However,if I used Internet Explorer it was fine. Now, I can't access online banking or Netflix. Iget to the sites but they have morphed into long lists.If I use Explorer,everything works as usual.Does anyone know what has happened.I don't want to use Explorer as I dont think it's as safe.Thanks for any help. Is it one bank or is it a number of banks you have problems with? Don't name them.
I am using online banking OK with 10.9.2, so it is either something particular with your computer, or something your banks require that the update as stopped.
Have your reset Safari and stopped any extentions you have installed in Safari. Also check the preferences, some may have been changed that will stop it working.
The security update in 10.9.2 for SSL would not, as far as I know, have affected Firefox and Chrome as these use their own system.
If you are behind a NAT router, most home routers are, you could turn off the Mac firewall as a test, if it worked you could enable it and find the cause. Don't disable it on a public network.
There is always the logs produced by te Mac, Console Log, is the application, look for errors to do with your connection to the bank in those. -

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

I'm not a "tecky",so here goes! - Tiscali site, emails open/browse fine: as soon as I hit "delete", or "Message actions", the message regarding 'continue yes/cancel' etc, comes up in extreme top left corner of page,not in centre, and ALL actions on that "Talktalk" page are frozen. Taskbar,page scroll,top user bar (computer) functions are fine. I have changed nothing (since updating to Firefox 6.0.2. weeks ago) and the problem only started about three days ago. I'm annoyed that Tiscali/Talktalk's answer (and only answer) was to change browser to a different company. Hope you can suggest a fix. Thanks.

I was given this address from the Apple customer support team.
I have an active existing iTunes store account and use the same Apple ID for signing into my iTunes Connect Account that distributes Apps.
I have created some books using the iBook author and in order to distribute content on the iBookstore I have been told electronically that I need a new Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information valid until 2013?
I want to create a Paid Books Account using the same email address, tax information and bank information. This has been most frustrating, as I cannot get passed the sign in section and there is no contact person I can speak to. I was of the understanding the iTunes connect account and the Developer programs which I paid good money for is all what I needed to be paid for selling iBooks on the iBookstore???
I only have one email address and wish to also use it for the Paid Books Account. I have books ready to be exported and published.
I am also having trouble locating and downloading iTunes Producer. I understand I need to have the Paid Books Account active to access the iTunes Producer program. Please help.

If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?

Suddenly cant access some folders on the server.
Cant access some shared folders on Windows Home server 2011 on Dell GX620
Suddenly some of the folders begin returning an error message. cant accesss \\SERVER|PICTURES You dont have permission... contact the system administrator.
But nothing had changed. It just decided to lock me out of those folders. If I go to the server, all the files are there and the user shows as having read/write access but it is still denied access to those folders. SOooo on the server I deleted the user
then added them back in and gave them read/write permission but that did not change anything. Same error. I was at a loss and could not access many of the folders so I just made duplicate folders with slightly different names then copied the old folders
to the new ones. I can access the new folders fine but the old ones still don't allow me access. Funny that not all of the shared folders are giving me this problem. Just the pictures, music and documents folders are denying me permission. I need to

Meanwhile, please navigate to those problematic folders, right click and select Properties. In Share tab, please check if the folder shared for the users correctly. In Security tab, please confirm related permissions again. Even if assign users
Full Control permission, will users sitll access deney? Please compare settings of the problematic folder with a good folder (which can be accessed), will you find any clues?
Please let me know the complete error message or provide a screenshot, it may help us to narrow down this issue.
By the way, when access the problems folder (such as picture folder), if type \\Server's IP address\picture instead of \\Servername\picture, please monitor the result.

Cant access XP shares on a domain with my windows 7 computer.
I am on a work domain. This is a mix between XP pro and 7 pro machines. I can't access the XP network shared folders using my windows 7 machine. I didn't have this issue until I had gotten a different windows 7 machine: I upgraded from a hp-8000 small
form factor machine to an HP-6200 I-Core 5 machine. I used the disk image of my old machine, loaded it into my new machine, so that I wouldn't have to install all the software I use for my job. That was when I noticed I couldn't explore, change, or even see
the shares on any of the XP machines in the company. I frequently have to move folders around the work environment when they switch people from their stations. I can see the machines through CMD, can access their printers, if need be, but cant access their
files, folders, or anything else on the machine.Your problems are the result of restoring the HP-8000 image to the HP-6200 hardware. The only time this works is when the two hardware platforms are significantly the same; meaning they are almost exactly the same. There are enough differences
in your two hardware platforms such that Windows was not able to fully recover on the new platform.
Your only option to salvage your current system is to use your original Windows 7 boot disc to do a Repair Install of your system and hope the Repair Install will be able to update to your current hardware platform. Otherwise you will have to a completely
clean install of Windows 7 on your current hardware and then reinstall all your applications.

i cant access firefox, everytime i try i get that windows can't find the file, i tried downloading it again but it still gave me the same message. the problem has nothign to do with my internet because it wonks on internet explorer and everythign is fine, my computer just can't access firefox for some reason. i tried uninstallign ti adn then installing it again, but that didnt work, i tried installing a different version and it still didnt work.

Nothing happens after i install is the "Launch Firefox now" checkbox set, the same message comes up.

I cant access the root share of a windows server after upgrading to mountain lion

Since upgrading to mountain lion i cant access the shared drives on our windows server. For example in a windows machine if i go to run the type \\server\ i get all the visible shares available. in my previous version i was able to do the same (obviously i would authenticate with my AD account). now when i try to access those same shares i get the message below:
"The operation cant be completed becuase the original item for "/" cant be found"
I can however connect to the shares directly for example if i connect to server path \\server\data it works ok.
I have verified my account details and they are ok - i have also disconnected and reconnected the connection.
This was working fine before the upgrade. can anyone help??well iv just managed to get to 35 gig free (just deleting iphone backups) and im now able to get past the next screen on bootcamp.
unfortunatly its only allowing me to create a new partition not delete the current.
this is leading me to think the old ones master partition has become damaged and the hard drive dosent know it exists any more.
if this is the case (please tell me im wrong though) what options do i have as i dont want to / have the money to buy another hard drive to back everything up to it with.

What type of security is it running? WEP, WPA, WPA2 (WPA2 is recommended, WEP is completely insecure)

Go to Solution.Seen this hundreds of times, the most likely cause is CMOS battery in your PC running flat, it means that whenever you unplug your PC it loses the date and time.
SSL certificates are valid for date periods and your PC things it's not in that date period.

Going to Apple is pointless. They will not do anything to help. Activation lock is an anti-theft feature.
If the seller "forgot" the pasword for her Apple ID, then she needs to re-set it so that it can be used to unlock the phone. If she says she can't for some reason, demand your money back. If she refuses, I stand by the statement that the phone is most likely stolen.
The phone is completely useless without the Apple ID and password. -

Once again stuck in my own thinking, As per my knowledge there is a general error in java.
i.e. 'Non-static variable cant accessed from static context....'
Now the thing is that, When we are declaring any variables(non-static) and trying to access it within the same method, Its working perfectly fine.
i.e.

You are declaring a variable inside a static method,
that means you are opening a static scope... i.e. static block internally...
whatever the variable you declare inside a static block... will be static by default, even if you didn't add static while declaring...
But if you put ... it will be considered as redundant by compiler.
More over, static context does not get "this" pointer...
that's the reason we refer to any non-static variables declared outside of any methods... by creating an object... this gives "this" pointer to static method controller. -

ok, ive looked all over itunes to fix this problem. i just bought an ipod video and i just finished downloading my music from my itunes, the only problem is that i cant access my ipod!! there is a icon that looks like a lock near the free space end of my ipod

so... i can put music onto my ipod, i just cant take it off... or change it...Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod
