Netflix Error 117

I haven't been able to log onto Netflix for almost a week now.  Keep getting: "Unable to sign in.  The account name or password is incorrect.  Please try again. (117).  Netflix runs fine on other computers, just suddenly not on Apple TV.  Otherwise Apple TV is working fine, with iTunes, You Tube, etc.  Netflix claims it's an Apple issue.  Apple won't discuss without a service contract.  I know others have this problem from researching.  Tried changing passwords, DNS, restoring, resetting, unplugging, etc.  Anyone have a suggestion?

Okay, so I got a little lazy and never actually rolled back my AppleTV software. (I was simply streaming Netflix to the iPad and then mirroring onto the TV via AppleTV - in the hopes that the problem would be solved for me somehow.) However, my husband became proactive and actually called Netflix for a solution - which I had never attempted.
They claimed that my password had recently been reset to "12345" about a week before. Had I been the one calling, I would have explained that no, in fact, I had not reset my password, and that actually I had "re-reset my password" via their website to what it had always been just a couple days before in hopes of fixing the problem.
I guess the "re-reset" to my original password never "communicated" itself to Apple TV, because when they changed the "12345" password at Netflix HQ, everything was fine. (Odd, because the iPad, iPhone, and website all required my original password, not 12345. And shouldn't AppleTV just check-in with Netflix to confirm this password, rather than require its own unique one. Hmmmm...)
MORE INTERESTINGLY - the other day I downloaded the new Netflix update to my iPad and...lo and behold...same error! This time on my iPad. Luckily, I remembered the issue and tried to log in with the 12345 password, success! So for some reason the password associated with certain devices appears to reset itself to 12345 periodically - perhaps when an update is installed. I dunno. Anyway, seems I got lucky.
Give 12345 a try, may work for you. Best of luck!

  • I'm having a problem logging into the Netflix app (117)

I've repeatedly entered the correct username and password, only to have it tell me that I have entered them wrong with an error code of 117.
I've contacted customer support at Netflix, and it seems that their solution is to recommend changing my Netflix password.  The only way to make it work though seems to be to change it to a number only password.  I don't trust the security of that.  Any other tips or ideas on how to get it to login?
Also, how can I report a bug on this?  To whom would I report it?  Who makes the Netflix app on the Apple TV?  Netflix or Apple?

I'm having the same issue, changed Netflix password, reset apple tv...still error (117) wrong username & password.  I know i have them correct as I can connect on my iPad?
Any solutions.  This is the first time I have used Netflix since updating apple tv to ver 4.4.3 a couple of days ago??

  • App error 117 reset blackberry 9320

good afternoon, I have a blackberry curve 9320 and when you start to load the operating system reaches 70% and the screen goes blank with the message (Error 117 reset app)
and try installing the OS again using desktop software, also Use the BBSAK and did not give any results, also with instalador_rapido.exe did not accomplish anything, connect to pc via usb cable without battery to load operating system and the process put a battery at 100% charge and did not work either, still appears the error 117.
    I need your cooperation
    thanks

    Hello die595tack067
    Welcome to http://supportforums.blackberry.com/
Search and download your OS and all the above applies
    Via sdgardne
    Nevertheless, here's what I suggest...
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below. (This is probably moot given the errors you have...it's likely your data is already gone from your device, which means you must now rely on a backup you took before this happened.)
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Netflix error codes almost every time

I have been using my Apple TV to watch netflix for the past month and now it seems as though I cannot play some or most of my content because of a netflix error 111 or 112. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? I have tried unplugging the box, hasn't helped.
    Thanks!

This is not a problem only to apple tv. I have netflix on my ipad and it has been doing this for about a month now. When netflix release new update recently, it stopped doing 111 error for 3-4 days and it came back again. If I press refresh button couple of times, it sometimes work if I get lucky. Some people suggest turning device off would work. Yes, but it takes too much time and effort to watch just one movie. I believe this is a bug from Netflix. They must have some cookie or cache setting which is conflicting while connecting to server. Probably cache is preventing from application to connect to server, when in fact the program didn't get connected to server. But that is my theory. I hope somebody finds work around or fix the bug once and for all.

  • Sound not working & iTunes won't play & Netflix error

Sometimes my sound stops working, and songs on iTunes won't play when this happens. Also if I try to watch Netflix an error message comes up: "Netflix Playback Error N8157 3140" and it says it could have something to do with my Silverlight plugin.
    This is what it says:
The error you're seeing is related to the Silverlight plugin, which Netflix uses to play movies and TV shows on your computer.
This error is usually caused by one of two things:
A computer setting preventing Silverlight from storing files it needs to play your movie or TV show
An issue with the Silverlight plugin itself
To fix this error, follow the steps below for your Windows or Mac computer.
    Reinstall your audio card drivers
Your audio card drivers may be out of date or corrupt.
Uninstall and reinstall your audio card driver. Your owner's manual or audio card manufacturer's website can help.
However, I have tried deleting and reinstalling silverlight, but it doesn't make a difference. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? It only happens sometimes, other times I have no problems and it works fine.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Silverlight
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Netflix error despite Silverlight update and correct browser settings?

I've got an older MacBook Pro (OS 10.5.8), and just tried to join Netflix but can't get Silverlight to work (I keep getting error N8010).  I've reinstalled the most recent iteration of Silverlight (Netflix also won't let me run on the old Silverlight) and checked browser settings on Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.  Are there some other settings I should be checking?  Thanks!

Thanks for info, ds store. Wish I'd known about Chrome, however. I should have, knowing already how intrusive they are (just check gmail on that count. They want to know everything!).
I have to say also that I don't understand why Apple can't update Safari for all it's recent platforms instead of just for one, whichever is latest. Doing that leaves customers who don't want or need to update platforms high and dry with respect to Apple's own browser. I could run IE8 with Windows 98 if I had to. As it is, I run it with XP, by now several generations old. So one for Microsoft and zip for Apple on that count.
    ds store wrote:
I don't recommend Chrome as they install a root level updater that requires removing all their software and the updater to get rid of it, Firefox would be the better choice.
Having installed Chrome, as you know, can you tell me whether or not Mac Keeper would do the job of removal? I have that too, and they sort of lay claim to being able to remove all pieces of programs/apps in one easy move. Course I'm skeptical. Assuming "no" for an answer, is there someplace I can look at that gives step-by-step instructions on how thoroughly to be rid of Chrome? I also gather that simply dropping the App in the Trash won't work either, at least not to be thoroughly rid of any app really?

  • Netflix error loading content

    Netflix gives "error loading content"
    Thoughts to correct?

I had the issue back in November & December where it was working however the quality was horrible.  That was fixed and now I'm getting the "An error occurred loading this content" as well.  Netflix is working great on my iPad so I tried to stream it using the Airplay and ended up with the same error.
Anyone called Netflix?  I'm on hold right now.  Odd's are they're going to blame Apple.

  • Netflix error code

I am trying to stream movies from Netflix to my Apple TV and I get the error message:
    NETFLIX IS NOT AVAILABLE.
    Please try again later (ATV-ANRT2)
Does anyone know how to fix this???
    This is so frustrating.
    Thanks,
    M.

I was getting this exact same error when I signed up for Netflix a few weeks ago. Tried everything I could think of. Finally RESET my apple tv, logged back in and VOILA! Works. Give it a try.

  • Netflix Error W8158 After Installing ThinkPad USB 3.0 Dock Software

I just bought a Yoga 13 with the Dock and it works quite well, except for this issue:
After installing the required software that came with the dock, certain Windows 8 Metro (full-screen) app stopped working.  The most obvious was the Netflix metro app (downloaded from Store).  The app starts normally, even takes you to your instant queue, but as soon as you start a stream, you get the W8158 error code, with the name of the failed driver in the text of the message.
I made several attempts to download the latest updates from Windows Update.  However, none of this fixed the problem.
The Dock added an uninstall shortcut to the start screen, and I ran this uninstaller, but this did NOT correct the problem.
I then ran the OneKey restore (kodos!  The recovery works beautifully), re-installed Netflix, and now all works perfectly. Unfortunately, I cannot use the Dock to use a second monitor.  Not good.
Ultimately, I think this may be a Netflix App issue.  Hopefully, someone will document a fix for this.

Have this same issue with a Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch.

  • Netflix error while loading contant

Since last week i have some trouble using the netflix app on my apple tv. It will repeatedly give an error ( error while loading contant acquired) and tells me to try it again later. I've all ready tried to restart my atv and router, even did a full reset so i have the latest software running on my atv. Now i'm completly clueless of what else to try

I have been having the same problem since last week as well. It isn't just Netflix, it's also YouTube and some other on-demand video streaming services.
I have narrowed it down to Apple devices being used over WiFi to stream video for certain apps or services.
I have an iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV. None of them now work with Netflix or YouTube over wireless.
However, Netflix and YouTube work on my iPhone over a 3G network. Also, my windows laptop plays Netflix and YouTube fine over the wireless.
So what have Apple done?? Please anyone help us! My friend also has the exact same problem as me

  • "ERROR 117"

Good day Y'all...in two quick successions, I got this error on my Torch 2 "EMV 117 reset". Please what could this mean?

    Hello,
I've not seen that one, nor do I find anything in the public KBs that matches...your searching may though prove more fruitful:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.do
Otherwise, I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

  • Netflix Error Code ui510

When attempting to access any characters in the "Characters" subsection of the "Just for Kids" section of Netflix I get the following error on a black screen:
    Please try again later.
    (ATV-ui510:atv/next/kids_cdp)
I can access the titles any other way, but it is a little hard for my 3 year old to navigate through the app without seeing the character pictures.
I have logged out and in of the Netflix app.
I have restarted the Apple TV box.
I have reset the Apple TV box.
Does anyone have any suggestions or similar problems?
    Thanks.

I am also having the same problem. Also some of the titles are missing like Eebee baby and fireman Sam which we watch all the time. I also noticed that some non kids titles are also missing. I have been watching sons of anarchy and it isn't there anymore. Can get it on my iPad though. I have tried absolutely everything I can find online and no luck. Apple support wants me to purchase a care package before they will help. Very frustrating

  • Netflix error code 139

When trying to watch Netflix using my 3G connection, I keep getting error 139(NoCDNSelected).I have called my cellular provider,Netflix and Apple and no one seems to know why or what the code is. It was working up until about 2 weeks ago. Hoping someone will know on here!!

Did you ever find out what caused this.  Netflix has been working fine on my iPad until last night and now I am getting that same 139 error message.  But I can log on with both my MacBook and my iPhone 4S using the same wifi connection, and the programs play just fine.  Except I want to use the iPad, leaving the computer available for something else.  I've deleted, rebooted the iPad, re-installed the app - and Netflix now says it's a firmware problem with Apple.

  • Netflix Error S7361-1253

I talked to a Netflix representative and they said that it is an Apple situation, not a Netflix one.  I have an all-in-one computer, and this is the first time this error message has ever popped up on Netflix.

For a workaround, Enable the Develop menu in Safari Preferences, Advanced tab.
When watching Netflix, select User Agent>Firefox - Mac.
Or, install Firefox for watching Netflix.
