Netflix - Find Starz Play titles directly on Apple TV?

Netflix offers Starz Play now with many streaming titles from the Starz channel that were not available on Netflix streaming. I cannot find an easy way to browse these titles from the Apple TV menus... Has any one else? On the Netflix website, under instant you can click on Starz Play to find what is available. Would be nice to have this on ATV.

You can watch the starz titles on the ATV but you have to search for them directly rather than the ability to browse what's available on the channel via a list on the ATV. On netflix.com under the instant tab, there is a link for starz and you can browse what is availble. Then on ATV you can search for it and it will play just fine. Wish there was a menu for starz on the ATV...

  • My Netflix will not play when my Apple TV is connected to my Sprint Hotspot.

I can watch videos on my Netflix account from my laptop connected to the exact same Hotspot. I can access my Netflix and search for videos, yet when I attempt to play I get (139:NFErr_MC_AuthFailure).  I have reset and restored every single device/app involved.  I have checked that no parental controls are on.  I have called Netflix and Sprint both with no resolution.  I live on an island and do not have access to another form of internet (hence the Hotspot).  I used to have AT&T and never had this issue.  Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I live on a farm and the only internet fast enough is from my phone. I've connect the hotspot, but I get that same error when I try and play something. What does work, however, is if I pull up the netflix app on my phone (a different phone from the one I am using as a hotspot), play it from there, and airplay it on the apple TV. It's a big pain and it effectively slows my connection because I'm streaming it through the hotspot onto my phone and then pushing that back through the network onto the Apple TV. Any way to play it directly from Apple TV??

  • How do i find the activation code for the apple tv, i am trying to connect to netflix??

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You need to create an account on your mac/PC and then use your ID and passcode to log in on the Apple TV.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
No, this doesn't work directly from the Apple TV. However if you play the radio station from your computer you can send it via airplay to both devices, thereby achieving what you require.

  • Can't play VDO tutorials of Apple's web sites

I'm using Mac mini with Mac OS X 10.7.1 in school's proxy server. The port of proxy is 8080.
My problem is my mac can not play VDO tutorials of Apple's web sites,http://www.apple.com/iwork/tutorials/#pages-hero (and other VDO of Apple).
Every attempt to play these VDO, there is a authorization pop-up asking for username and password of the proxy server. There is no VDO after filling it but soon another authorization pop-up again.
I called Apple technical support. He asked me go through Youtube and movie download from iTunes. All of those were OK. He concluded that the only problem is VDO streaming and send my case to his superior (senior advisor). Apple's senior advisor said that "probably" there is a problem with the setting of the server. The technical support team admitted that they are not familiar with networking.
I asked our IT, he suspected that my problems came from Mac software. He said that Windows PC use the same proxy port to view those VDO tutorials but Mac software change the port of VDO streaming from 8080 to 80 (they checked it). This is the first problem. So every attempt to play that VDO requires new authorization with user name and password. The second problem, Mac software would not accept the username and password that required by proxy server for the new port.  So, no matter how often I filled up username and password it won't work.
    Help, please.

I was having problems opening some downloads (using VUZE) using quicktime
Are you referring to "Vuze" the "torrent" app? If so, then what was the source and compression formats for the files you downloaded? While I would expect Apple files directly downloaded from the Apple site to be compatible with the QT player, files posted by other sources could be in any compression format and would either trigger the message you got, not play, or not even load to the player. The normal work flow in such situations is to determine what compression formats were used to encode the downloaded file and then install the same components if available for your system--not arbitrarily download QT components which have not useful function or which may create component conflicts.
Neither of which could I also get to open my downloads, so I deleted the file.
What file did you delete--the downloaded installer, the installed component, the QT Player, the video file you downloaded, or something else?
Now I can not play any of the videos on the Apple website.
How are you trying to view them? In a browser? Opening the file as a URL in the QT Player? As a downloaded file?
Quicktime is the diverted program but I have no idea what to do from here. Can anyone please please help me with this.
Have no idea what you are talking about here. Is this a setting in the Vuze software? If so, you need to go the Vuze forum to get more information.
I should add, I have sound when I play the tutorials. just no visual, and I get no message to download QT either.
Once again, how are you viewing the video? What compression formats are involved? If using the QT Player, what does the "Inspector" window or Finder "Info" window say about the file?

  • Error message while trying to play rented moves on Apple TV

I keep getting an error message while trying to play my rented movies. I have rebooted the Apple TV. Lowered the resolution. Restated my modem . Rest my Apple TV. Soft rebooted it and it plays all Netflix and previews in HD no problem just not the movies I have rented !! Extremely frustrated regretting my purchase extremely!! About ready to boycott!

I have been able to open a few items in iTunes, but have not been able to play even those videos from my Apple TV. I can airplay them from the computer, but cannot access them directly from Apple TV. This is a bit frustrating.

  • Netflix Would Not Play on Mac OS X (Lion) After Upgrade

Netflix would not play on Mac OS X v10.7.5
After I upgraded to my older mac to Mac OS X Lion it would not play.
    MacBook 13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
Processor 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Netflix is stuck on the loading cue with the blue dot circling.
Spent hours on phone with Microsoft and Netflix, neither one was able to help me and told me to find help with Apple.
    Already tried:
    - Deleting ALL silverlight files/uninstall and reinstalling updated version 5 multiple times with restarting computer
    - Cleaning history/cache
    - Checked connectivity issues
    - Changed proxy/hardware settings on wifi connection
    - Check audio output/input settings
    - Tried Chrome and Safari - same issue.  Silverlight states that its not compatible with Firefox 17.
If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

  • Starz Play

Can't install.  Get message "Upgrade Adobe Flash player to version 9.0.115 or higher";  I have version 10,0,32,18 installed.  Using Vista on an HP Pavilion DV4.  Set-up launcher is product version 2.2.43.17 dated 8/31/08.
    Help please!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

#1 While I do not use Starz Play, I can try to help you...
#2 If you install this Starz Play with your web browser, what is the name and version of your web browser?
As I wait for that answer, I can give to you a clue/hint in the right direction.
When I go to Youtube, I get an error that says
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.
So, I add youtube.com and ytimg.com to NoScript's temporary list of sites that can run JavaScipt.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
    http://noscript.net/features
After I do that and refresh the page, it works fine..

  • STARZ PLAY... has anyone been able to download to an iPod?

The Starz Play gives you the option of downloading to your PC or to a mobile device, however it will not recognize my iPod classic or my iPod Touch. (Apple's proprietary issues!)  If anyone has found a way to watch a "Starz Movie" on an iPod, please let me know. I am thinking you would need to somehow copy it out of a Starz folder convert it to mp4 and then copy it into iTunes ... "if" it can be done at all. BTW: I do have a Roxio 2009 program. Or if there is a way to have it "recognise" my device!
Let me know techies! and thanks!

    For Lion? you have to.
Notice the threads? it is an issue. Slow? yes.
There is a link to direct download Boot Camp 4.0 though.
Complain. This is silly and the issue has been with us for a year, use Apple Feedback forms.

  • How can I play music on the apple tv from itunes?

Hi! two months ago I was able to play music on the apple tv, but today I can not. Some one knows why?
I can not find the option to share to the apple tv.

    Hi,
When I say that I'm not able to play music in the Apple TV is because I can not more find the option in ITunes, I remember that two months ago I was able to share the music and hear it in the TV but maybe I forgot the way to do that or may be change it, I don't know. If  I remember, I just made click for example in a song and there was the option to share to Apple TV but jet is no more the option.
I don't have a MAC, my computer is VAIO and didn't change it.
I already set the Home sharing on ITunes and Apple TV.

  • I can no longer play iTunes rentals on Apple TV

I just rented a movie from iTunes, and when I try to play it via my Apple TV via AirPlay mirroring all I get is a checkerboard pattern. If I play on my laptop it works, but AirPlay fails with the checkerboard pattern.
I rented from the movie in iTunes, using my brand new Retina MacBook Pro onto my Apple TV. All in the Apple ecosystem. And it doesn't work. This arrangement worked in the past. I'm not sure what software "upgrade" broke this.
This is extremely irritating (and I don't look forward to being on hold for hours tomorrow when I try to get a refund). My entire family was gathered, with guests to watch the rental. We had to resort to Netflix. Which may be the permanent solution...
    What's going on?

I'm having this issue too. I can still rent movies from the top movies list or the the other viewers watched part, but I just can't search for them or bring up the in depth menus. Very annoying. Is this to do with the new apple tv release? Is the store being updated. Don't know about you guys but I'm in Australia having this problem.

  • After yesterday's "upgrade", iTunes can no longer find and play my music library.  It points to the correct location in "Advanced", but clearly iTunes is not actually seeing it.

After yesterday's "update", iTunes can no longer find and play my music library.  It points to the correct location in "Advanced", but clearly iTunes is not actually seeing it.  What gives?  And why does Apple force these constant updates that just screw up everything?  It was all working fine yesterday before I ran the update.

Does anyone know where I can get support for this issue?

It sounds like you've misconfigured your browser, but I'm not sure what you're even talking about.
You know that apple.com has all sorts of forums for mac users, right?
