Netflix HDMI connection problem.

I have used my HDMI adapter many times to watch Netflix on my TV.  I have upgraded my iPhone 4s and iPad 3 to ios 6 and now can't get it to show on TV.  If I connect the cable the home screen shows up on the TV but when I connect to Netflix it goes blank? Any idea?

HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.

  • HDMI connection problem with Olevia HDTV 237T

I have a problem with the Fios HDTV box not communicating via the HDMI cable to my Olevia HDTV 237T. Every time I start up or change channels from HD signal to SD signal, the TV goes to blue screen with no signal. The only solution found so far is to unplug the HDMI cable from the TV and plug it in again. I tried an HDMI switcher box in-between but with no real difference in the result.  Is there a solution to be found before I wear out the connectors on the cable?

The only other thing you could do would be to try upgrading the firmware on your television. That might fix the HDMI sync issues. If it doesnt, the only other option would be to use a component cable. It will give you the same 1080i quality picture that our set top box puts out. That HDMI sync problem is the biggest problem that any device that communicate HDMI can encounter. I'm sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

  • [Troubleshooting]MSI 7950 HDMI connection problems

I have been using the DVI port from the card for some time, but when I tried to use the HDMI port nothing is detected from my TV. I've used a DVI-to-HDMI adapter to see if something was wrong with the cable or TV but that worked out ok, and the same results occurred when using the HDMI port on the motherboard.
Drivers have been updated, but could there be a specific driver for enabling HDMI usage on the card?
Would greatly appreciate any help given here people.

As HDMI ports of your board and the vga are showing the same behavior it seems to be an issue of the TV if using a pure hdmi connection. Drivers are no issue as those wouldn't be needed.

  • Mac mini (mid 2011) to Samsung led tv via hdmi connection problem.

    Samsung led tv - UE32D5000
    Mac mini (mid 2011)
On regular monitor (connected by hdmi to dvi cable) setup teamviewer
    Try to:
    1. Connect different hdmi cables - dose not work (on apple tv - both cables work)
    2. Connect hdmi cable to different hdmi ports.
    3. On tv change type of source - PC, PC-DVI and other.
By teamviewer I watched what was going on the computer - Mac mini does not recognize tv like monitor by pressing 'seek monitor'.

Aha! Similar problem here; Mini (Intel, Macmini2,1, the 2007 version with the larger HDI port not the smaller one)
Problem seems to happen only with both HDMI and USB connected (USB only to use the built-in webcam on the monitor, an AOC V22+ (which I love, it's a very nice monitor; LED instead of fluorescent backlight).
Sometimes it would suddenly switch to where the dock and menu bars and status bar were hidden (the desktop gets 'too big for the screen).
Then I'd go to the Display settings and unselect "overscan"
Then it'd be OK for a while, then switch to a big black space around the desktop window, lots of unused screen).
Then I'd go to the Display settings and reselect "overscan" and it'd be Ok.
    For a while.
There really ought not be a need to fiddle with 'overscan' at all -- since I'm not using this as a television. Mac OS 10.3.6 seems to mistakenly think the monitor is being used as a TV -- maybe when there's a video in a browser window?
    Not sure.
Anyhow it becomes a rock-paper-scissors problem where I have to keep chasing the settings to undo whatever it changes to at random, Lather rinse repeat.
Seems like it's only a problem for me when I have the USB cable also connected, to use the built-in webcam -- so I don't use that now.
The AOC folks have been working hard on solving this.
I just found this topic and have referred them here.
They'll be glad to know it's not their problem, I guess.
(does it happen on Apple brand displays too? I'm not sure)

  • Macbook air hdmi connection problem

I cannot get my macbook air to connect to my tv via an hdmi cable. I suspected my cable until my neighbor had the same issue. Have others experienced this and is there a solution?

I have had this same problem. Has the wifi worked before? What I did was I turned my wifi off, then I restarted my computer, then I turned my wifi back on. If that doesnt work, leave the wifi off, and shut it down for a while. Hope I could help!

  • MacBook Pro - HDMI Connection Problems

I have connection my MacBook Pro to my TV with a HDMI cable. My docking station is now on my TV which isnt a problem but is when I unplug the HDMI cable to find that my docking station is not at the bottom of my laptop screen where it usually is. I've had a look around system preferences but cant seem to find anything. Anyone got any ideas??

Thanks, but it doesn't work. Deleted both the files, emptied the trash, restarted and nothing. NO SIGNAL.
I'm thinking that maybe there's something wrong with the tv. I remember when first trying to connect the DVI cable that there were some sparkles around the DVI. Maybe something got burned inside the tv.

  • MacBook HDMI connection problem after Snow Leopard Update

I recently upgraded my MacBook to Snow Leopard and discovered my HDMI set up no longer works after the upgrade. It has worked for the past two years with Leopard without any problems.  Now when I plug in my HDMI the computer recognizes that the TV is there but only shows up black on the TV.  Checked the display settings and is set on "Mirror" still.  Everything is the same except the OS upgrade.  Has anyone had this problem and found a way to fix it? Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    Hi Guys
I've read through a lot of the forums on this subject and it seems the problem has been going on since pretty much the start of Snow Leopard being introduced.
One of the questions I've seen is: will buying a new battery solve the problem?, The entry from BeetleMegaFan on the below forum may offer some advice to this question, it would seem apparently not.
    http://forums.cnet.com/7723-21565_102-357366.html
Another thing I tried is removing the com.apple.PowerManagement preference which at least seemed to allow the MacBook to see my battery long enough to take some screengrabs of the System Profiler (could be one of the random co-incidences).
Just to check/prove this is "potentially" a Snow Leopard problem I booted up from my original 10.5 system discs and guess what, no problems.
I also got a new one yesterday: Battery not charging, the joy continues but at least it knew there was a battery in there!
Would really appreciate an answer or advice on this one but I'm fast thinking there isn't a solution available at present.

  • S210 HDMI connection problem

    Hello.
I just bought one ideapad 210 touch. I tried to connect my LG tv using the hdmi cable. I used to do this with my old lenovo u350. When I connect the hdmi cable the screen on laptop blinks two times and I listen a sound but no signal in TV. I tried all the available options. Dublicate - extend - only second screen.
I have updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1.
What can I do to project in TV ?
    Thanks in advance

I called lenovo support line and they told me to return to windows 8 and install again the windows 8.1 without updating any drivers.and if does not work install the drivers from lenovo's website. I made this but nothing. By chance I found out that using an old HDMI to VGA adaptor I had output signal as RGB (vga exit). This is not the correct solution but it works...

  • HDMI Connection Problems

When I connect my MacBook to my Sanyo 42" HDTV "Please use PC Audio Input for DVI connection" comes on the screen. What do I do?

You'll also need audio cables to the TV using a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate audio input plugs on your TV.

There is a VGA adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable for PC Video.http://www.amazon.com/VGA-Adapter-S-Video-Cable-Video/dp/B000Y7T5UU/ref=sr_1_7?s =electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1316369974&sr=1-7

  • I have a black border (picture frame) on my tv when I watch netflix using hdmi connecter with ipad 2 how do I get rid of it?

How do I remove a black border around the picture when watching netflix on my hd tv with hdmi connecter on ipad 2? When I first watch the picture is fine but after around 20-30 minutes the picture shrinks and a black border (picture frame) appears it's a 47" tv with a 23" picture.

Play with the Aspect Ratio button on your TV Remote Control e.g. 16:9, 4:3 or stretch

  • My Thunderbolt to HDMI connection isn't working anymore.

I've had my MacBook Pro for about a year now (2.4 GHz i5), and I've been using a Thunderbolt to HDMI adaptor to connect to my Sharp 32" LCD with no problems since I bought it...until this week when I updated all my software/OS.  Now, I can connect, the displays prefs see the monitor, but all I get is black.  No sound either...even though the sound prefs recognize the HDMI connection.
I know the problem isn't the cable.  It used to work, and it still actually connects this same laptop to my projector...but it won't display on my TV anymore. I even get sound on my projector.  It works like my TV used to.  The problem started with the update, so I want to know what changed...and when Apple plans on fixing it.  These are not cheap computers...I am kind of embarassed that I have to use my gf's $350 Acer to play Netflix on our TV when I have this multimedia monster gathering dust.
This problem is extremely frustrating, and I've been doing some research on it.  It seems like quite the problem for a lot of people!  There are multiple unresolved discussions on here about it (some of them over 40 pages long!) and I can't really believe Apple isn't dealing with this.  It's been years now since this started happening, I guess.
We're mac users...we need multiple displays, and we need this stuff to keep working when we update!  That's why we've made Apple into the richest corporation in the world.  Step up superstars...fix this!
Again (just to be clear) I know the problem isn't the cable, so don't tell me to go get a different one, or that it's the issue.  Me and my gf basically wore out Netflix with this very laptop and cable up until this week, and I've never had an issue with it..ever, until this update (to OS 10.7.5).  Everything is in good shape, and if the laptop/computer is still feeding to my projector just fine...there's something else going on here, and I think a lot of people would love to know what it is.  I am not the only person this is happening to, and it's been years since people have been begging Apple to fix this!
I hope that Apple looks into this and puts these discussions to rest.  There are a lot of them!  Do a search!  The "More Like This" box on the right here is FULL of very similar UNRESOLVED discussions.  This should be a priority.  You've all made enough money off us...now make your stuff work like it's supposed to and close these threads!

No, I am a media professional who uses his MacBook Pro to connect to external monitors, and needs to continue to do so.  I don't want Apple TV.  I want my laptop to work again, like it's supposed to.  Like it used to.
I have a demonstration this week at work that requires me to plug into an LCD screen and I am hoping to have this resolved by then.  I am trying to convince my department to buy a Retina Mac and thousands of dollars worth of video software for live shows, and if I can't make it work, then I can't exactly convince them (or myself) to buy what I have been researching.
Again, I don't want wireless video or Apple TV.  I don't want to buy any more stuff.  I want to know why my Thunderbolt to HDMI cable stopped working after my update, and how to fix it...preferably before this meeting.

Can anyone help me connect my Macbook Air to a SAMSUNG TV.  When I follow the basic instructions (Thunderbolt to HDMI connection) the screen on my computer goes grey and an error message appears inviting me to press any button to restart the Macbook.  When I do this nothing happens.  Only when I disconnect the computer from the TV does the Macbook allow me to login. The TV does not receive any signal from the Macbook even though I know the HDI port works fine.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?  Do I need to enable something on the Macbook?

    An update...
I downloaded Apple's (rather large!) list of software updates today, and I was finally able to recognize my iPod again. I did a restore using the iPod updater from 06-2006, and all seemed to work OK. (I'm afraid to try the new one again!)
Then I tried to re-load my music library from iTunes, and got stuck. It froze up after a while and wouldn't go any further.
When I disconnected my iPod from my computer, I find 2 podcasts and nothing else, though iTunes told me it had transferred 600+ songs. Those 2 podcasts do play fine, and the basic iPod software all seems to be intact.
So -- anyone get through this connection problem and have any ideas to share??
