Netflix iPod Touch 1 st Gen Can't Download The App!!!!!

I bought 2 iPod Touch 1 st Generation products back in November of 2011 for chirstmas presents. I downloaded Netflix to these devices and it worked great! Then on christmas morning kids opened the devices and started using them and the devices said netflix required an update! After the update the netflix app stoped working and when I deleted it and tried to redownload it no dice! The app now says requires ios 4.0!
- Apple you should look at getting a form of 4.0 for 1 st gen iPod Touch
- Netflix you should definatly develop an app that works on 3.1.3 if Apple maintains devices that can't update to versions of ios past 3.1.3 then Netflix you need an app that works on these devices!

Not going to happen, not for a device that Apple discontinued well over three years ago. It's probable that the hardware in the first-gen iPod touch can't support the newer OS, though I can't say with any certainty. The chances of Apple providing such a version, though, even if the hardware could, is nil.

Go to the Purchases Tab in the App Store and Accept the apps.
Then you'll be able to update them.

If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...
and i hope you understand my problem..

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod/Ipad/Iphone, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Hard Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds or until Apple logo appears
Make sure you have Itunes downloaded
Make sure Itunes is the latest version

The ESPN Radio is basically a Paid radio station.Make sure you have enuff balance to stream a radio from your Iphone. .

why does my ipod touch 4th gen can't detect my location? i thought it was because updating foursquare. i have erased and restored its settings, but i was able to use my foursquare before even after the restoration, but now it's not working even my location services is on. Though, it can detect location in other areas, but it cant detect my location at home when before it used to check-in using foursquare.

No, the iPhone can determine location by GPS and cell tower locations neither of which the iPod can do. So the fact that it works on the iPhoe does not tell you anything. It could be that your router is not in Apple's database. In that case you will just have to wait until they add it. Try using a public wi-fi source to see if location works there.

On the computer you should be able to go to the network properites. Go to the TCP part and unchec the line that says obtaind DNS automatically and check the one that says use the following. Add the 8.8.8.8 and Google other 8.8.4.4.

No one can predict the life span of a particular device, there are too many variables to consider. Such as, how well it is treated, how it is charged, used in a case, exposure to heat and cold, and on and on. If you treat it well, it should last for years.
iPod Touch has a 1 year warrenty, but with the AppleCare Protection Plan, you can extend it to 2 years. Even out-of -warrenty, its still useful. And please follow through what Ralph Landry1 said.

You can use iCloud with yur iPod with iOS 5
To also use iCloud with your computer you need Lion for a Mac and at least Vista for a PC.

It appears that there is something incorrect with your billing information. You need to correct it. For a standard account you need a valid payment method even for free apps. You can however create a new account that is only good for apps by:
Create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card
