Netflix is not working on my atv3.

netflix is not working on my atv3. since i did an update a couple of weeks ago this has been the case. Netflix have been through turn off/on, reset wifi, restore settings and none of this works. Netflix are now blaming apple as they say they have gone through everything.

hope this message finds you all in time. The recent Apple TV update 5.1 is terrible. Apple knows it is which is why (thankfully for some relentless user -I have no idea who but I believe it was under threat) they have allowed to sign 5.0.2 again which means you can downgrade your Apple TV 2 and 3 to a 5.0.2 version via iTunes. Who knows how long they will keep the window open but I have downgraded my ATV early this morning. I couldn't post this earlier because I was out all day but I am doing it now.
Here's how to do it:
1) Connect your ATV to your computer via a Mini USB (not included with ATV but included with many other electronic devices) - in order for your ATV to appear in iTunes you must FIRST plug the USB cable to your computer and ATV and only THEN plug the power cable.
2) Download your ipsw restore file from Apple.
5.0.2 (ATV 2): AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
5.0.2 (ATV 3): AppleTV3,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
3) In iTunes select yout ATV, hold SHIFT and click on Restore
4) Find and choose the downloaded IPSW file in the Open Dialog Box and hit Next
5) As long as Apple still signs that version the Restore process will begin and will take a few minutes to complete.

My instant watch for netflixs is not working on my macbook pro. I just shows a black screen. I know that the problem is not Silverlight, so what other type of software or upgrades am I missing?

Go figure both Apple support and Netflixs support "have never seen a problem quite like mine" the same day my free trial has ended. And no the, problem is not with my Netflixs account because they charged my debit card just fine. I'm trying to play instant movies on my netflixs account and every time I click on a movie or show it just shows up a black screen with no play controls. According to Netflixs I'm either missing a peice of software or I need to uninstall and reinstall a program or plug-in or something. At first they thought it was Microsoft Silverlight, but I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling that several times and nothing has changed, plus since I had no play controls as well the problem is definetly not Silverlight. So I was wondering what other types of software or plug-ins are needed to play Netflixs movies or if anyones else has had the same issue and knew how to fix it. And I know that it is a problem with my Macbook Pro, because my netflixs accout still works on my sister's computers. I've tried restarting my computer, restarting Firefox, signing out and back in on Netflixs, praying to God, clearing my cookies and chache, saying nice things to my laptop, yelling at my laptop, and pretty much everything under the sun. Nothing I do is fixing it. Please someone help me figure this out.

MacBook Pro / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better. Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG. However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success. So here's what I did:
1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
5. Go back to the Get Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

Netflix frequently not working

I have very frequent problems streaming netflix to my Apple TV 2. I would say that 75% of the time it does not work. I get Content not available or other error messages. Whenever this happens, I use my blu ray player to stream netflix and it works perfectly. Also, the Apple TV works fine for other streaming services like Itunes, youtube, etc. So it is really a Netflix/Apple TV issue.
Anyone have any ideas? It has gotten to the point that I never bother even trying to use the Apple TV for netflix since it so rarely works. But the interface is so much nicer than the one on the blu ray.

Just purchased Apple TV. Netflix has been working fine. Yesterday started getting an error message. "Cannot conect to Netflix at this time, try again later." Still happening. Does anyone know what wrong. Internet works. Itunes works. iMatch works. Netflix on iPad works. Netflix on Mac works... just not apple TV.

Netflix profiles not working

I was wondering if anyone has the same problem, basically out of the blue I cannot switch to any of my Netflix profiles except the main one. If I do I get logged out. It only affects my ATV, not online or from the iPad. I asked on the Netflix live chat they told me some bull such as yeah we know we're working on it.

I've tried everything including deleting the Netflix profiles and making new ones, and power cycling the ATV etc. No results. The only thing I haven't tried is to factory restore my ATV because it took a while to set it up the way I like it. The guy on the Netflix chat promptly answered : "We are aware of this problem and our engineers are working as we speak to get this resolve ASAP. I'm glad you reported this to us, so that we know that you too are affected" but if you google 'cannot switch Netflix profiles on Apple TV' you get zero results, weird. Since I was also setting up Plexconnect I was wondering if I'd messed up the thing, but disabling plex didn't help. I am disappointed because the main reason I bought it was Netflix but it's basically impossible to use without profiles (big family with kids).

My netflix app used to always work, now when I try to play a movie, it won't load, times out, and gives an error message: try another title.
I have tried reinstalling app, closing it, playing different titles, my wifi can stream things fine not on netflix

Netflix knows their app failure with iOS 6 isn't confined to a "small number" of devices; they know it isn't fixed because they haven't fixed it. I assume they are buying time, waiting for another iOS upgrade so they can then start the cylce all over blaming Apple instead of their app.
You have to wonder, why? Does it solve any pipeline problems they might have with inadequate bandwidth by randomly denying service to a numer of subscribers at any given time? Or perhaps we should just assume incompetence rather than malice: they don't want to do bad, they just don't know how to do good. The recent Netflix history would support the latter.
Frankly, I'm pretty sure they just don't care. Their business model seems based on the very worst kind of churn and burn telecom companies of a few years back that relied on bait-and-switch promotions and short-term discounts to sucker enough new customers to replace the disinchanted people leaving.

Netflix will not work. States account name or password is incorrect

I have input my netflix ID and Password but iTV keeps telling me that it is incorrect. I have removed all devices from netflix and changed the password as well just to start fresh, reset the iTV as well with no luck. Any suggestions?

OK, figured it out. Using my iPad to control the apple tv box, you cannot input your password from the iPad, you must use the apple remote to do this. iPad puts blanks in or something, don't know for sure but it worked.

Netflix app not working on TV

I have just bought a 47L6200U TV that has a netflix app. I can log into the app and view TV shows but when selecting one, I get a "this title cannot be played at this time..." error (error code tvp-805). Now , my ps3 and iPads in the same room work with netflix just fine, and also the TVs other apps work just fine and can stream content without problem.
I have spoken to netflix and they say its a network problem. My wi-fi signal is strong and fast and I have also tried a wired connection all with the same error. I have also registered the app and re-registered, I have even tried a new account without success.
Is this a problem with my TV's networking functionality? do I take it back to the shop?

Using Apple TV's latest OS. Everything else on Netflix and all other apps, including Apple's Movie & TV Search, seem to be working normally.
Anyone have have an idea about how to restore Search in Netflix?

Netflix Silverlight not working in Chrome?

I just got a MacBook Pro and I have never had a Mac before. I want to watch Netlix but it told me to download Silverlight which I did. I then restarted Chrome and it still said I hadn't downloaded it but it was there in the downloads section of the computer. Am I doing something wrong? I am still new to this software so I am not sure what to do. Help please. Step by step would be appreciated I am so confused and upset.

On your Dock near the Trash Can is a folder called Downloads, click on it and open it and the Silverlight installer will be there or it mounts a DMG volume on the Desktop that looks like a drive.
Click on it to open and it should open and it if doesn't then hold the option/alt key, click on the installer and select "Open" and allow it to bypass Gatekeeper.
Install Silverlight and if it asks for your Admin Password, then give it.
You have to maintain Silverlight, it's not auto-updated like Flash is done for you by Google.
Silverlight is a Microsoft product, why Google doesn't deal with them about maintaining it.
You visit this page sometimes and make sure your Silverlight is updated.

Windows Live Tiles are not working and refreshing

I have looked for an answer but can't seem to find one so this is honestly my last resort. For some reason my Windows live tiles are not working nor refreshing. When I open my Netflix app for instance I get a playback error N8102, but I am strangely connected
to the internet. Oddly, however, Netflix does work well using firefox on the desktop.
I tried to check if I needed an app update for Netflix, but the Windows app store is not loading as well. Internet explorer app is not working, and IE on the desktop is taking too long to load. But firefox and chrome work perfectly well on the desktop.
Other problems that I have encountered are:
Microsoft Office 2013 is taking too long to open, and when it does it often crashes
I can't view my Windows Updates
Can't view control panel. It also crashes.
I am not sure what the problem is.

Why does my Netflixs not work on my apple tv

Whenever I want to watch Netflixs on my apple TV it does not work. It works on my iPad and all other media works as well.

APPLE TV DOES NOT WORK WITH NETFLIX, just a black screen and "Netflix is loading" message appears. I can´t even see Netflix´s home page or set up my account. Netflix is working fine on all other devices at home, but in Apple TV.
I have tried the 8.8.8.8 DNS trick, the turn off procedure, the manual IP setting, but nothing....black screen still appears

It started working.....!!!!! (It seems someone back there is listening)
I "forced" an upgrade, I mean it showed "AppleTV is updated", nevertheless I re-started the system using the "return to original configurations" option. Then it updated again by itself to a newer version....and started working perfectly.
I have paired my apple wireless keyboard and it works fine, this way is easier to set up passwords or so (you can also do it with your remote).
TIPS:
I didn´t change any language or video quality configuration (scared to do so)
I changed to ethernet (cable) instead of wireless
My internet plan is 6 Megabytes (it was the same while it wasn't working)
