Netflix - No Video on 55X850C
Trying to play Netflix video on native TV app. Everything is great until I launch the video. Blue screen with "no signal" shows up. Audio is playing. Pushing "pause" pops the navigtion bar up, but background is still blue, with no video. THis is not all the time, but frequently. I have to unplug the TV to rest it, then works again. Anyone else see this?

I have read your post on how a green appears when watching Netflix on your notebook, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
The first step I recommend is to update the graphics drivers on your computer. To do this, please follow this document on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8). If the issue persists, I also suggest right-clicking on the green screen and disabling the hardware acceleration.
For further assistance, I will need to know:
The Product and Model Number of your notebook computer.
The version of Windows you have installed on your computer.
If your computer has completed all of its important Windows Updates.
If you have updated your HP drivers using the HP Support Assistant.
If this is an on-going, or recent issue.
If you have the latest version of Adobe Flash and Java installed.

Netflix streaming video freezes but audio is ok...
When I'm watching Netflix streaming videos, Firefox video freezes. Audio is fine and I can continue hearing the video. Firefox is the only browser that does this. IE9 and Google Chrome plays without the video freezing. I love Firefox and would like to continue using it. I get tired of having to change browsers just to be able to watch streaming video. Since downloading OS X Yosemite I have been having issues with Netflix. Video slows down which causes the audio to go out of sync. Netflix plays ok on ipad which makes me think it's the software which is the issue. Has anyone else had this issue?
Try this:
Go to System Preferences - Bluetooth. Delete the keyboard from the list of devices by pressing the "-" button. Take the batteries out of the keyboard and reinsert them. In Bluetooth Preferences press the '+" button to add the new device. If the keyboard begins to pair, click the word "pair" and type in the passcode. Press return. The keyboard is now paired.
If the mouse is not pairing, try this: shut down the computer completely, unplug any USB mice, then turn off the power to the bluetooth mouse. ONce the computer starts up again, wait for the pop-up looking for a mouse. Turn on the power to the bluetooth mouse. It should work normally now. -

The netflix interface is working, the tv(32SL415U) show or movie loads and then when it begins to play nothing plays. A bunch of colors flash all over the screen and a dull sound plays. I am not sure why this is happening or if it is the tv or netflix.Tried to reset the unit back to factory settings, then reconnect the unit to your internet service.
Make sure that you will set the yahoo profile widget properly then once everything has been setup, check your Netflix. -
I'm trying to watch Netflix on my projector but it says it don't support it so I need the Netflix 1.0.2 version but I don't know how to download it because it came out in 2010
This is correct....on the MX440, if you are running a single analog monitor, DO NOT connect it to the analog port, use the supplied digital-to-analog converter that was supplied with the board and connect your analog monitor to the digital port. Using this configuration allows the the TV-out functionality of the VIVO 4-port adapter to work much better.
I have a new G4 MX440 VTD8X and had the same issue described here....the TV could not be detected by the video card when connected via RCA jacks (S-video worked, but the CLONE option was never present). I moved my primary monitor from the analog to the digital port, and viola, the TV out functions perfectly now.
I don't know why this is, but I spent the better part of several hours downloading drivers, trying BIOS updates, and traversing the forums....to no avail. I finally found the above workaround (not really a fix) to allow tv-out to function, and so I'm posting it to every thread with an MX440 experiencing TV-out recognition problems. -
How do I get the picture back on Netflix/other videos on itouch 6.0?
I used itouch to stream netflx to tv. Now the itouch (alone) won't show netflix (only sound) and also won't show some videos sent to me (says its on the tv). Its only the picture that is affected.( I can't go to itunes as I will loose my music bought in a different country).
Is there some setting on itouch that will fix this?- There are not video out setting on the iPod
- I think that attachments are supported for Video out unless they are played through the Video app.
- Do yoi have the12 Dec 2012 version of Nerflix installed on the iPod?
You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Netflix Audio/Video Out of Sync
My new AppleTV arrived today (yay!) and I quickly set-up and configured it. While generally impressed I'm observing that the audio and video for Netflix streaming are not synching up properly. I've got the ATV hardwired to my network and am not connecting via wireless.
I have both the HDMI and optical cables plugged in I've tried audio over both interfaces and with the ATV setting for "Digital Out" set to on and off and all variations have the same synch issue.
I've tested the same show with the Netflix app on my iPhone (over wifi) and using the OSX Silverlight player (hardwired) which both synch the audio/video properly.
Anyone else experiencing this? Did you find a solution?I haven't seen any audio sync issues but I would like to drop a suggestion for those affected by this. I believe most televisions now now have a setting to compensate for this. (Well at least I know my Vizio 37" does.) My television has a setting (unique for each input) called lip sync and it's for correcting exactly this issue. Initially it's a feature for correcting out of sync problems between the television and satellite receivers which is actually a common problem. Most modern televisions should have a similar feature for fixing audio sync features. Doesn't hurt to dive into your televisions settings to see if you can correct your audio sync issue.

So I've had this issue with streaming Netflix Instant play videos on 3 different browsers: Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Streaming works well for a variable amount of time, from 1 minute to 10 minutes. Then, the playback gets choppy and the audio stutters. During this time, when I try to move the cursor there is a significant delay. It's as if my computer is too slow to handle the streaming. But everything else from youtube to hulu works fine.
I've been told by Netflix that this problem is processor related. Everytime I'm streaming, their statistics are showing that my processes are eating up 90+% of the CPU. When I go to Activity Monitor, I see Silverlight plugin (which is what Netflix unfortunately streams through) is the only thing that's causing the high usage.
Netflix has said I should uninstall Silverlight 3 and run an older version. Did that...no success.
Then, they said I should defrag my hard drive but did not give me specifics on how to do it. So when I googled it, I pretty much came to the conclusion that a Mac does not need to be defragged, and even if I did it, the results will be miniscule. So I'm not gonna throw away $20-$40 to buy some stupid 3rd party defrag tool when I don't need it.
So I've come to you, Mac community. What do you think I should do now to fix my choppy audio/video problem?this is not a laptop or browser issue. this is an issue that has gained noterity and popularity just as of recent with silverlight and netflix. this has been an issue for numerous people, all of which have been using various different browsers, hardware, isps, and operating systems. netflix has claimed ignorance despite multiple complaints from discontent users and proprietors of the company. wootinany, the only effective method of fixing this streaming problem that the anyone has been able to figure out, (since netflix nor silverlight seem to be doing a **** thing about it) is changing the buffering rate of the video you are watching. you can do this by holding shift+alt, Shift+Option(Alt) clicking, then clicking stream manager and selecting manual selection and changing it from the default option of 1050 to a lower buffering rate. this seems to be working for most people but not all. since there is no way to save this preference, unfortunately you must select your buffering rate every single time you start a new movie. if this doesnt work try deleting your facebook account and mailing tons of money and/or drugs to 1375 williams st. #102 denver CO. and upon reception of said comodities i will send you an email of thanks and say a meditative mantra in hopes that your problem will be fixed which will hopefully do something. its worth a try. preffered drugs include in this order, heroin, marijuana, cocaine, any form of psychedelic(preferreably DMT) and heroin. send any of these and i will say the mantra to fix your problem. again, wootinany.

My mac is working fine. No noticeable problems. Then went onto netflix everything was working apart from the watching of the film and it popped up

Yes I tried cycling the power on all devices including the router and modem.

Audio problems watching netflix streaming videos
The audio is terrible, can hardly hear the actors. If dvd played, the sound is good. This happens every time a streaming video is played. Will external speakers help, and if so, what kind?

Are you having this problem in both mobile and desktop Firefox, or in mobile Firefox only? (Except for the "preload" issue, the WebM code should be identical.)

IPad 4th Gen Netflix poor video quality, how to solve?
Well, both my computer and iPhone stream perfectly, except my iPad. The quality is similar to 360p even though I have download speeds of 11.5Mbps (well over the minimum required to stream HD). I checked by watching Thor (which is an HD movie) and some other ones and the quality is poor regardless of the movie. I saw some older posts related to this thread and I conducted what they call a "trace" and this is what I got:

I have no idea what it means or if anything is wrong with my iPad's configuration. I went through the account settings and changed the option to "Best quality" but still no change. Any tips?Hey Brad, the MP4 movie in iTunes is 806 MB. The segment I trimmed in QuickTime Player and saved as an MOV file is 18 MB.
When I export the MOV segment from QuickTime Player to my desktop, the export format options that appear are: Movie; 480p; 720p; and iPad, iPhone 4 & Apple TV. Which do you recommend?

Yoga 13 after Win 8.1 update - apps for Netflix, CNN, ESPN, etc. will not play video - WTH?

I had other issues with wireless (which I fixed by buying a Linsys 802.11ac USB nub - finally decent range & performance), but really want to get this Win 8.1 video playback issue fixed.

Very disappointed that Microsoft/Intel/Lenovo forced this 8.1 "upgrade" on us without having checked it for flaws in operation like this. I've read other people having this, and similar problems, so any fixes / suggestions / links are greatly welcomed.(Note that all of the following applies only to the Yoga 13)
I think the previous reply is inaccurate in several ways. Let me address each one:

This isn't quite correct. There is no need to "roll back" to any previous driver versions. What actually happened with the Windows 8.1 upgrade is that the Windows installation process reinstalled or refreshed all of the drivers in the system, and for some reason this driver installation process screwed up and left some drivers not functioning correctly. In almost all cases the solution is to simply reinstall that driver with the current/same version. The Conexant driver is the poster child for this problem. The version of the driver that comes with the Windows 8.1 upgrade is the same as the version on the Lenovo site. However it is often necessary to reinstall this driver to get it installed correctly.
I just want to reiterate that this is not a version problem, it's a problem with the way 8.1 reinstalled the drivers. This need to reinstall drivers affected people differently, with some people needing to reinstall other drivers as well, such as the Intel Thermal Framework drivers, etc.
Windows 8.1 comes with newer versions (also newer than the reposted drivers on the Lenovo site) of the network Wifi drivers that for my system have been an improvement. However I have not experienced a lot of the Wifi issues that others have reported. The only issue I have had with Wifi is that it was always a bit slow to connect after coming out of sleep mode (30-60 seconds). After the 8.1 upgrade my Wifi connects very fast (less than 5 seconds).
Windows 8.1 also came with an updated Intel graphics driver that is newer than the one on the Lenovo site. I am not aware of any problems with this new version.
My Yoga 13 is now functioning perfectly after the 8.1 update, although I did have to perform the reinstall of the Conexant drivers, and I had to reapply the fix for the touch screen missing the first swipe. I recommend the list of Yoga 13 fixes mentioned on this site.
"Microsoft or Lenovo should add a setting to the "Configure Windows Update" options - it should be "Wait 6 months after the update is published for it to stabilize"
I don't agree with this as the drivers that come with 8.1 weren't unstable or problematic. Again, the problem is with the 8.1 installation process, and I do agree that Microsoft should work on fixing that. It has certainly caused a lot of people some grief, but it also seems that we have a solution which is the driver reinstalls.
I also don't recommend turning off Windows update.
Finally, it may be that some of the issues you bulleted are more serious than I am aware, as I haven't had all of these problems. I would like to know more about these:
"Kill the video / audio in Windows Apps (aka "Modern" interface) - Netflix, ESPN videos, CNN videos, etc. "
This is certainly a common problem. At least we have the fix for this (reinstall the Conexant drivers).
"Degrade WLAN performance (range and speed)"
I am skeptical that 8.1 is responsible for Wifi issues. Seems like in general the new 8.1 network stack is better. I know that many people had wifi issues prior to the update.
"Fuzz out the resolution / display such that Display has to be turned down from 150% to "small""
I don't know about this issue, so I would like to hear more.
Mess up touchpad, keyboard, tablet-mode keyboard
This again seems more like a problem that existed before 8.1, as many people had issues with this. The most consistent solution seems to be disabling the "ymc" service.

to be watching a movie in flash (netflix) or videos on youtube, my macbook overheats and goes into "Kernel Panic". I have 2.5 GB of RAM and my mac is intel core 2 duo 2.16. Before I went this problem and it all started when using netflix.
