Netflix slow as hell again

Netflix slow as a dog...again. 75mbps down, 30mbps up on speed test. Yet I am watching Netflix at 350px resolution. **bleep**!  This has been going on for a month now. Peak times, low res and buffering. Fix your stuff guys.
Too much more of this and Bright House will start looking good again. Sad.

strange. I've tested it on another archlinux computer, and it's equally slow. I've tried with an emptry database, it's less slow for navigating through the menus, but when I had a few entries, it's getting slower.

  • Yoga 13 Firefox slow as hell.

Is it just me or is Firefox slow as hell on this thing? I'm talking about page rendering and scrolling speed. Heck, even as I'm typing this, I'm experiencing lag with the characters appearing on the screen. Chrome behaves better but still lags behind much older and slower machines I use on a daily basis. IE Metro seems to be perfectly fine, but I rarely use it. Even Safari in a OSX Mavericks VM running on this same system even seems to be faster.

My desktop firefox seems responsive the rare times I use it. I mostly use desktop IE, and have to say there are new bouts of occasional freezes... I can't even change tabs for about a minute. There seems some responsiveness lag, so when I scroll with a finger swipe, it gets treated sometimes as a double tap magnify as if it is doing slow sampling.
Maybe firefox would do the same if I used it as much. I checked my lenovo pointer driver for a newer version, but the old one is called current. I wonder if some windows update caused this delay mode. I wish I knew how to turn off the double tap magnify gesture anyway...

  • WRT54G V8 Slow as hell wireless connection

Im about to go on a killing spree because I cannot figure this out. I have a desktop connected to the router. The router to the modem. I can get on the internet fine with nice speeds on the desktop. When I connect wirelessly with my laptop it is slow as hell. Wont load anything than after 2 minutes it will load it all at once. I have no idea what the heck is going on. I've changed settings and changed them back in the router config. What could possible be causing this??????

I have exactly the same problem with my WRT54g V8 router. My Dell laptop takes forever to load web pages. My desktop "flies" when connected via ethernet but slows like the laptop when I connect wirelessly using a USB wireless adapter WUSB54G.
When I connect to my neighbors Netgear wireless, everything is very fast. When I use my old Microsoft wireless router, things are very fast. When I go back to the Linksys, SLOW SLOW SLOW!!!!!!!
I have updated the firmware to no avail. Changed channels and turned off all wireless security.....no change!!!
I am running Windows XP SP2 and using Comcast cable broadband.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • New Macbook Air i5 wireless is very slow and disconnect again and again. Any one has the same issue or some help??

I recently bought a new 13 inch Macbook air and wireless internet is really slow and disconnect again and again. However I hav another windows laptop at the same place and that never disconects or looses signals? wireless on this mac is too slow that I cannot even use to make a skype call. I am new mac user and getting a bit disappointed because of this bad performance.I googled about this issue and found that lot of people are having the same issue with macbook air. I switched off the bluetooth adaptor but still no progress. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I am experiencing something similar with my MBA 13"/i5/256GB.
To take it one step further, I started up a Terminal session and ran a ping against my wireless router. I see the same pattern repeated over and over: I get about 5 or 6 pings through, then 4 or 5 misses, then it reconnects again. When it reconnects, the first ping or two have times in thousands of milliseconds, where normal is maybe sub-millisecond to 4ms for the remaining few seconds.
I have other wireless devices, including iPhone, iPad, and an older MacBook - all work fine. The MBA is the only Lion device.

  • Ipad Streaming Netflix via HDMI Cable Again

My Ipad quit streaming Netflix to our TV through an HDMI cable in early October, right after iOS 7 and the Netflix software update came out.  Netflix issued version 5.02 in late October, and siad that fixed the problem.  But that still did not help.  Now  Applle has issued iOS 7.0.4 to fix some bugs.  They did not indicate that this was one of the bugs.  But we can now stream to the TV over the HDMI cable again.

No.  The Videos app should work fine.

  • Ovi suite slow as hell on windows 7

After a long time of not using Ovi suite, I downloaded yesterday the newest version from the Ovi suite.
When I ran the installer, it said that I'm installing the newest version, but after installing and running ovi suite, I get a message that a newer version was found(even though I was on 2.1.1.1) and that it wants to update to it. Fine, I said, updated. Version stayed 2.1.1.1.
After that, I connected my phone, a 5800. This was nightmare. Ovi started syncing, and got stuck on syncing photos. It took me about 20 to CANCEL the photos syncing.
Afterwards, I started backing up my phone. This went OK through out the entire process, except the ending - Ovi got stuck and had to be closed.
After closing Ovi, I noticed a process, Nokiamserver, that was eating my disk with reading. It kept reading and reading and reading. I eventually had to close it because I just could not work with that process reading so much from the disk.
The overall Ovi interface is very slow as well. Everything takes its time to load, everything moves slowly. I was quite disappointed with that.
Nokia - can you make a good syncing program that will really compete with iTunes? That will work good and fast?

    Hi All,
I'm new to this forum, and Nokia phones.
Bought a C5 yesterday (sell-out of old stock) because it said it did offer what I need:
Basically a USB-stick with a screen, offline GPS navigation and telephone. I don't need no mobile Internet access.
Well, what can I say: This device sucks, and massively so. User-unfriendly, ridiculously slow, and unnerving features like disappearing maps, etc. As close to a first grade ripp-off as it can get. It just nearly does what it is supposed to do; just enough so you can't actually sue Nokia for ripping you off. But then again, it does not guide me to where I want to drive to. It does not download and remember the maps i need, etc.
VERY disappointing. Look for mine on ebay - I need a hammer to hang a picture from time to time. I don't need to invent, engineer, manufacture and assemble the hammer in the first place each time I want to hang a picture!
Nokia: This is 2012. If you want to be here by 2013 you have a LOAD of basic homework to do! Detention for 12 months!

  • Netflix slow on MAC, speedy on Win 7 PC

    Hi,
I am trying to get my macbook pro i5 to play streaming netflix.
I used to do it on my win7 HP laptop for some time and it works nice.
on my mac, quality went down, when I tried to figure out why, I found out that the netflix stream is of lower quality.
I used ctrlalt+shifts when in the netflix playback window and see the actual bitrate and what is it buffering into..
on the PC it goes from 500->1500->2600->3800->2600->3800
on the mac it does 500->1000->500->1000->1500->500->1000
they are both connected wirelessly to the same setup:
    mac - Airport N (transmit rate 117MB/s)
    pc - internal wirelless G 45Mb/s
    TP-LINK 1034ND Wireless N router (very strong one) - 3 antenas
Thomson cable modem on a 12Mb/s connection
and two ISP subscriptions were attempted, I also tried each computer connected directly to the cable modem.
still the PC provides me with superior streaming bandwidth. how come mac is having hard time ?

    OK,
I did a traceroute on both computers...
the first 9 hops are identical, after that, the windows PC just report the next hops as Request timed out while the mac:
    10 77.67.108.34 (77.67.108.34) 167.007 ms 166.900 ms 177.202 ms

  • Forum slow as hell

Whats going on with this forum I mean if sun cannot program a decent forum purchase vbulletin or something similar... on a T1 it takes 2-3 minutes sometimes to load a thread with 4-5 replies. SUN if you want me I can write you one for free just to get credit for it or atleast fix it.

The forum speeds are much better than they used to be, and this forum happens to be one of the fastest I use.
The problem you experienced is more likely to be one of:
    * A transient fault - eg: a backup is done when you use it most
    * A problem with your connection, eg: noisy line
    * A fault between you and the forums
    * Most likely - you are using netscape or other slow/old/cr*p browser.
Forums tend to make extensive use of tables, and my experience of most versions of netscape is that they struggle with tables. Why don't you try IE 6?

  • Slow internet yet again, speed checker is useless

Usually the daily re-setting (yes daily) of the hub sorts out our rubbish broadband, but this time it didn't...so
Tried the speed/fix test: I'll try anything else but BT's mind numbingly terrible customer service.
First time couldn't complete as 'internet running too slow'...really?
Second attempt logged me out as the speed check was running as... it didn't detect any user activity (or something like that)?
Third attempt it said that flash wasn't installed?
Fourth attempt said something about 3rd party equipment not compatable?
So. 'Fix your connection' or whatever tool is rubbish too!!

Hi Welcome to the community forums
