Netflix Update

I know there has been a recent update to support it on the 4th gen, but has anyone heard anything about an update to support video out on the iPod touch 2nd or 3rd generation?

the update only provided video out for the iPod touch 4th generation and the iPhone 4gs, I have an iPod touch 3rd generation, has anyone read or heard anything about an upgrade to the Netflix app that will allow for video out to older iPod touches (3rd generation)?

  • Apple claims Netflix needs to Update

I just completed my Apple Tech call this morning:  it took 65min to eventually hear Apple blame Netflix as cause of problem and nothing could be done on Apple's end -- no foreseeable OS update to resolve the issue -- and actually suggests that Netflix update their platform to meet Yosemite OS.
Netflix, of course, blames Apple.  Netflix's solution is to download Chrome or Firefox (bypass Safari) for Yosemite OS Users.  Apple Tech confers with this solution and suggests download of Chrome for immediate success.
Also,  in my opinion, Apple Customer Service has diminished their reputation.  They didn't deal with the issue straight on, but, instead, chose to run the Customer thru bogus ineffective "solutions" and act like this is the first they've heard of the issue; hard to believe.
The best solution Apple Tech could advise is very simple and honest: inform the Customer straight away that it's now known that Safari on Yosemite OS is not compatible with Netflix at this time, so for immediate satisfaction, download Chrome or Firefox browser.

I am having the same problem.  I am surprised though that people are blaming Apple for what is a Netflix problem.  Several months ago I discontinued Netflix service because of poor playback quality. Often I couldn't  even get Standard Definition playback much less HD. I had no such problems with Amazon Prime, Youtube of even nfl.com.  I called Netflix support. They blamed my ISP, my router, Apple and for all I know the man in the moon. Just this morning I accepted their offer for another one month free trial. I read they now support HTML5 playback on Safari/Yosemite and wanted to see how it worked.  For about an hour and a half playback was fine. Then suddenly I get this error no matter what I try to play back.  I called Netflix support and predictably they blame it all on Apple. As a workaround I tried using Firefox with Silverlight playback and guess what ? I still can't get HD playback !

  • Unable to play some movie from Netflix on my iPad. When I click on a movie an error message comes up which says "cannot play movie. Please try again". Can anyone assist me? I just upgraded to iOS 7.1. Netflix not able to find problem.

Unable to play some movies from Netflix on my iPad. When I click on a movie an error message comes up "Cannot play movie. Please try again later." I contacted Netflix but have not been able the help so I am wondering if it's my iPad. I didn't have a problem before but I have recently upgraded to iOS 7.1. Also is a certain amount of storage needed to play a movie? About how much is that?

    Hello all,
I have an iPad 2 16GB with iOS 7.0.3 and Netflix version 5.0.2. I cannot watch netflix on an External LCD monitor that I have through VGA out. I use bluetooth speakers, so the AirPlay is going to that for Audio. Before this update, this combo worked without an issue.
So as of Friday Nov. 8/2013, I contacted Netflix support, and they said they fixed the problem on their end, and the fix is on the Apple side of things, and to contact Apple support.
So, I contacted Apple support, and the first person I spoke to said I would have to agree to pay a $35 fee for 30 days of support to this problem since my unit is out of warranty. I said this isn't a hardware issue, it's a software issue, and I'm not willing to pay to fix a problem you created. So I got a Senior Level advisor on the line, and she was helpful, and she's looking into the issue for me and said she'll contact me sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday (Nov. 12 or 13) to let me know of the issue.
Here's the thing: this is a combination of Netflix and iOS not working correctly with any of the Apple Authorized Dongles. This is truly a code error that some hot shot programmer had major oversight on, and their management didn't catch it either. There was no reason for Netflix to rush to get this Netflix update going until Apple sorted out the bugs in iOS 7.
Anyway, if I hear anything from Donna (the advisor), I'll post it and let you guys know. In the mean time, good luck!

  • "Cannot play video - The Connected display is not supported" error message using Netflix 5.0.2 on my iPad

I'm running iOS 7.0.3 on my iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd gen) and have just upgraded to the current version of the Neflix app available in the Canadian App Store (5.0.2).
Although all other apps I've tried (e.g. Podcast, VLC) are able to properly output video & audio directly to my TV using the HDMI adapter (i.e. NOT via an Apple TV), the Netflix app pops up the error message "Cannot play video - The connected display is not supported".  If I start a video and then plug the HDMI cable in, it will play for a few seconds and then halt with the same error message.
Netflix & Apple were supposed to have been working together to fix the previous issue with this scenario which was causing audio to be output but no video.  The current Netflix app update was released yesterday and seems to have taken a step backward.
When I contacted Netflix support, they indicated that they have done whatever can be done from their side and this is now Apple's issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Apple tv second generation will no longer function with netflix

My apple tv won't function with my netflix anymore and i cannot figure out why every film i select it states this error message
A network error has occured and this title cannot be played or found at this time.
i know my internet is working just fine and yes i updated to the latest apple tv version but nothing netflix won't work but everything else does what gives could this be because netflix updated to a new version and apple tv hasn't updated to the new version of netflix yet???

Yes i did reboot same error message and the latest version of the netflix streaming app is 2.37 on all ios devices including apple tv but they went to netflix version 2.38 on ps3 and xbox 360 so now it doesnt work on netflix at all i found this out after talking to netflix customer support.

  • Netflix Problem iPad

    Hey there,
my Netflix App has not been working on my iPad for 2-3 months now. No matter what movie/show I want to watch I always get the message "Cannot play movie. Please try again later". I can watch Netflix on my iPhone and MacBook without any problems.
Here's what I've tried so far:
    - delete and reinstall the Netflix app
    - reboot my iPad
    - restore my iPad
    - iPad runs the latest iOS update and Netflix update
I also called Netflix support service. They told me there's nothing they can do to help me and there's probably something wrong with the iPad/iOS. Again: it works perfectly fine on my iPhone.
Has anyone had the same problem? It's quite annoying
PS: My iPad also won't play videos in Safari. It used to work without any problems, but suddenly stopped also 2-3 months ago. I just get a crossed play-button (on the exact same websites as before).

So I have now downloaded the latest Netflix app update and it has not fixed the problem at all. It still says "Cannot play video, connected display is not supported." I downloaded the NBC app and that says "Airplay is not supported." I have not problem playing videos straight from the Safari app or Youtube. Can anyone out there tell me what is wrong. This is super frustrating. It isn't clear to me if this is a Netflix problem or Apple problem since people at either place point to the other company when I talk to them on the phone. It ***** when updates create problems where none existed before.
    Anyone else running into this?
    Anyone found a fix?

  • Netflix Error 117

I haven't been able to log onto Netflix for almost a week now.  Keep getting: "Unable to sign in.  The account name or password is incorrect.  Please try again. (117).  Netflix runs fine on other computers, just suddenly not on Apple TV.  Otherwise Apple TV is working fine, with iTunes, You Tube, etc.  Netflix claims it's an Apple issue.  Apple won't discuss without a service contract.  I know others have this problem from researching.  Tried changing passwords, DNS, restoring, resetting, unplugging, etc.  Anyone have a suggestion?

Okay, so I got a little lazy and never actually rolled back my AppleTV software. (I was simply streaming Netflix to the iPad and then mirroring onto the TV via AppleTV - in the hopes that the problem would be solved for me somehow.) However, my husband became proactive and actually called Netflix for a solution - which I had never attempted.
They claimed that my password had recently been reset to "12345" about a week before. Had I been the one calling, I would have explained that no, in fact, I had not reset my password, and that actually I had "re-reset my password" via their website to what it had always been just a couple days before in hopes of fixing the problem.
I guess the "re-reset" to my original password never "communicated" itself to Apple TV, because when they changed the "12345" password at Netflix HQ, everything was fine. (Odd, because the iPad, iPhone, and website all required my original password, not 12345. And shouldn't AppleTV just check-in with Netflix to confirm this password, rather than require its own unique one. Hmmmm...)
MORE INTERESTINGLY - the other day I downloaded the new Netflix update to my iPad and...lo and behold...same error! This time on my iPad. Luckily, I remembered the issue and tried to log in with the 12345 password, success! So for some reason the password associated with certain devices appears to reset itself to 12345 periodically - perhaps when an update is installed. I dunno. Anyway, seems I got lucky.
Give 12345 a try, may work for you. Best of luck!

  • Netflix error lumia 830

Recently on my lumia830 i couldnt play netflix movies. It shows this error code: Q8156-887A0004. I used to be able to before the latest netflix update. I already contacted netflix and apparently theyve been getting calls about this before and are working with microsoft to fix the problem but its been weeks without any progress. Anyone know of a concrete eta of an app update or phone system update that will resolve this issue? Or something that will help me watch netflix on my phone again? I already tried softresetting the phone and reinstalling netflix but to no avail.
    Solved!

Any hint on when will this update be available?
Currently, all Lumia phones get an update to the current OS version, even those who had Lumia Denim but an older OS version already. Nokia aka Microsoft Mobile does not give a fixed date (why ever). Furthermore, Nokia aka Microsoft Mobile does not update all models, types and firmware variants at the same time (why ever). Consequently, no, we end-users do not have any date of estimated arrival. However, your phone is going to notify you automatically. When your Nokia Product Code is ready (= firmware variant; visible in the Software Recovery Tool via a Windows computer), you get notified by your phone automatically.

  • Netflix Streaming Problems (1009 Error)

I've been streaming Netflix content successfully for the past several weeks.  All of a sudden yesterday I got an error message during a stream that read:
SORRY WE COULD NOT REACH THE NETFLIX SERVICE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER. IF THE PROBLEMS PERSISTS (sic) PLEASE VISIT THE NETFLIX WEBSITE (1009).
I've been streaming through my Xbox 360, so I don't believe there's a problem with my Netflix subscription or their service.  Netflix's web site is not very helpful with this problem.  I deleted all of the Netflix updates on my LG Revo and re-downloaded them (the phone will not let me completely remove Netflix since it came pre-installed).  I rebooted and even removed the phone's battery to let the cache completely clear.  I've been getting this error message for two days now.
    Any suggestions?

I've had this problem in the past and all I had to do was reboot. I just started having the problem again today (9/11/11) and tried:
    Rebooting
    Going into Application settings/Stopping app
    Logging out of my account/Re-loggon
    Powering off and pulling battery
    Uninstalling updates/rebooting
    Logging on with non-updated app
    Installing updates again
Still no luck!!!! It was working well untill about 4pm 9/11/11

  • How to fix the glitch from netflix5 and ios 7 on ipad to stream feed onto tv without turn off mirroring message, how to fix the glitch from netflix5 and ios 7 on ipad to stream feed onto tv without turn off mirroring message

Has anyone been able to turn off mirroring successfully while streaming netflix feed through ipad to view on tv.  With the new netflix update I receive a message to turn off mirroring in control panel,  but I am not seeing a direct way to turn it off.
I contacted netflix and it is some bug between apple and netflix,  their solution did not work so advice was to contact apple.

We are currently running 10.8.5 with Workgroup manager 10.8 and Server App 2.2.5
My question is, would there be any modifications i would need to make to your instructions for them to work on the above os and app version?

  • Starting to think that the AirPlay icon is a myth

Just updated to iOS 7.0.2 and installed the latest Netflix update.  I can no longer watch anything from Netflix on my projector or TV as it tells me I have to disable mirroring in AirPlay, but after trying every tip on the internet to get AirPlay up I've had no luck.
    Thus far I've tried:
    Updating my routers firmware.
Rebooting both my router and iPad multiple times in every configuration I can think of.
Hunting through the control panel, Settings, double clicking the Home button, putting 'mirroring', 'AirPlay' and anything related I could think of into the search bar.
Scouring iTunes, Videos and every video streaming app I have for a link.
Reading every community support question that seemed relevant.
    Swearing.
    Swearing louder.
I'd really appreciate some help, but for the love of God please don't link me to the Apple AirPlay troubleshooting page.  That page has become a second home to me and yet my trouble is not shot.  Oh, and I DON'T have Apple TV.  Please, please, please and thank you.

    Hi,
NI does not have any software that can do this. I guess you would need to write a serial driver that uses the GPIB board (using NI-488.2 functions).
The only quick solution I can think of is using the GPIB-232CV-A or GPIB-232CT-A external GPIB interfaces:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=10066〈=US
With this interfaces you could use one of the COM ports to communicate in a GPIB bus.
    Hope this helps.

  • My online gaming issues

I got a Linksys WRT310N wireless router about 14 months ago. My computer, modem and router are upstairs and my TV, PS3 and Xbox 360 are downstairs. Everything was working fine until late February. One Sunday I couldn't get online with my Xbox. I figured it was just an issue at the moment with Live, but the following weekend I couldn't get online on Saturday or Sunday and it just kept getting worse in the weeks to follow.
During the time the PS Network was down I found I was able to get online with my 360 by jumping on other people's networks in my area that didn't need a password. The connection wasn't always great but at least it was something.
When the PS Network came back up I got serious about getting everything straightened out so I tried changing a bunch of settings on my router. All of the common suggestions: static IPs for consoles, port forwarding, etc. I was able to get on both consoles with my own network again, but it was way too slow to do anything. Images/icons wouldn't load and I couldn't download anything. Then last Saturday I tried adding my PS3 MAC address to the MAC filtering on my router's configuration page. After, I went to see if that did anything. I tried to download a Netflix update that I couldn't even come close to downloading before and it downloaded in like 5 seconds. So then I put my Xbox MAC address in too and Xbox Live worked great after. So it looked like my problem was solved.
The following morning I turned on the computer to go online and my connection speed showed that it had limited or no connectivity. I unplugged my modem and router, waited a bit, and plugged them back in, but it didn't solve anything. So I decided to just leave it alone for a while, thinking it might just be an issue with Time Warner for the moment. I went back 2 hours later and nothing had changed. It said the network did not assign a network address to the computer. I decided to give Time Warner a call.
After I told the woman I was speaking with that I already tried unplugging my router and modem she suggested I reset my router. I really did not want to do this as I had already spent so much time with it trying to get my gaming straightened out and I didn't want to lose the settings that were working for me the previous day. But it didn't really seem I had a choice and I was pretty sure I remembered all of the settings changes I made. So I reset the router and my internet connection for the computer was back.
So I went back in my router and made all of the changes for my gaming again and went to try both consoles. Both could get online but images/icons take forever to load again so I can't really do anything online and a few days later my computer was back to the "limited or no connectivity." I've reset my router countless times and tried changes in the settings but I still can't get anything to work for my consoles again. When I check my PS3 connection the signal strength is 95-100% but when I run the connection test it always fails when it gets to upload and download connection speeds. What are my options at this point? It is very frustrating.

Everything looks good, except I'm not sure why your PC lists the dns servers as 192.168.1.1. The only time I see a pc list the dns servers as the router's ip are when someone has loaded dd-wrt onto their  router and when they have selected dns masq. But you're still able to surf the web so I wouldn't worry about it. Since you have cable, all you should've had to do was select dhcp as the internet connection type and turned on upnp. Could you run ICET on internet explorer and see if you get any errors.
PS: IF you still can, edit out your default gateway that you posted under status page. You usually want to keep that private.
I don't work for Cisco. I'm just here to help.

  • Netflix Streaming on MacMini does not work after update to Yosemite

Netflix videos will no longer stream :
I am using a MacMini (late 2012) with an HP w2207h display.  Intel processor 2.5 GHz Core !5  Intel  HD Graphics 4000 1024 MG  After updating to Yosemite, 10.10.1, I cannot stream videos from the Netflix site.
All of the monitor specs. would indicate that streaming videos in HDCP would be possible.  Everything streamed very well until approximately 4 days ago.
I have changed the display resolution to 1080p.  I have disconnected the monitor and reconnected it several times.  I have updated iTunes as well as Yosemite.

Have you went to NetFlix's support site?

When i click on the netflix app, it says to update to the latest version of the app. So when i try to download the update to the app, it tells me i cant download the app because my original ipad does not have ios 4.  So now i cant watch netflix on my ipad at all?? Please help.

Hmmmm, what to do.  I know.......update your software on your iPad .  If you have iOS 3.x a lot has changed, and you need to connect your iPad to your computer and install the latest OS via iTunes.  You're missing the cloud and a lot of great new features.  A lot of upgrades have come and gone since you last updated.  The current version is 5.1.1
