NetFlow/NetQOS on a 3750x switch

Hello, I have 3750x running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE5 layer 3 capable. Im trying to enable net flow on the switch but for some reason the flow commands dont appear to be available in config t mode. Are there some other global commands that have to be enabled first in order for the netflow commands to be available or is it  the image that doesnt support netflow?
Andy

Thanks Rajeevsh,
I ran the command I got the output below, i do see ipbase in there but dont know if that means its active..
Maybe it needs to have IP services as you pointed out..
Thanks for looking at this..

  • 10Gb module uplink for 3750x switch issues

    Hi All,
We build a network consists of 3 x 48 ports 3750X switches and this network is uplink to the Core with 10GB uplink.
    We bought 3 x 48 port 3750x with 10GB modules  plus enough10GB SFPs.
The problem is for the 10GB module , we can only have 2 x 10GB SFP connections or 4 x 1GB sfp uplinks.
How do we get around with the 3rd switch which need an extra  10GB uplink to the core ?
we do not want to buy another 3750x switch and stack to the third switch to give it more 10GB ports.
    Any solution is much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Cisco 3750X Switch, Observing change in Running & Startup Config

    Hi,
I have a cisco catalyst 3750X switch running with c3750e-universalk9-mz.152-1.E1.bin, where I'm able to see the running configuration & Startup configuration on the device is not in Sync even after saving configuration to the NVRAM.
Startup Configuration is the one which is required for my network to work properly, but as I'm able to see running configuration is adding some of the configuration which is not actually required in the template. Can anyone help me to get this issue addressed.
    Configuration attached.

    Can you try this command:
    Switch#copy startup-config running-config
And then check if you are still face the same issue?

  • Cisco 3750x switch. Turning off a port at night

    Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding power management for the Cisco 3750x Switches. Is it possible to power down switch ports
automatically at a specific time and if so how. I would like several Ports to be powered down between 2 and 3 o clock at night.
Can anyone tell me how i can realise this? (these switches have Energie Wise capabilities)
I hope to hear from you soon.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Wouter Platteeuw

    few things to try:
Go to your email setup, go to the account in question, go to filters, Check the box that says "do not forward messages to the device" Set this back to the default if this doesn't work.
Something else:  try using the blackberry firewall
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB23877
I think this will block all email though, but you can take a look at the options.

  • Switch in 3750x switch reset

I have a 3750x switch stack of three switches.
One of the switches has reset 2 times and rejoined the stack.
Everything appears to be working fine except that every port light is flashing green light.
    No one touched mode button.
Is this a warning of some kind?

    Leo
    Thanks again for the help.
I was also showing this issue to another source and he suggested exactly what you said above."It looks like the switch is having problem keeping power"
The people at the site say there have been no power surges but I agree that is seems like power is the problem.
Switch 2 is the master now so I cannot do a session 2.
switch 1 was the original master and it has only been up for 5 days.

  • 3750X switches - get the port duplex by SNMP

    Hello,
I'm trying to get the 3750X switch port duplex state by SNMP. It looks like the only available OID is portDuplex, but this is for operational duplex, not the admin duplex.
So, if the portDuplex shows full(2) for a port in SNMP, you can't tell if the port is hard set to "full" or auto-negociated to "full".
As oposed to the CLI, where a "sh int status" command will show "full" for the hard-set ports and "a-full" for ports that auto-negociated to full.
For port speed, it looks like "portAdminSpeed" OID does the job.
So, my question is, using SNMP, how can I tell if a port's duplex is hard set or not??
    Thank you,
    Laura

    Hi,
How to check whether its stack cable problem or stack port problem on respective switch.
Most of the time the issue is the stack cable and not the port.  Try inserting the cable all the way into the slot.  With 3750x switches the slots are narrow and some times you need a flash light to look to make sure the cable is in all the way.
If I change the stack priority on switch 2 and switch 1 , do I need to reboot whole the stack so that new priorities for switch 2 and switch 1 would change to new values.
Yes, reboot the entire stack, after the election switch 2 should be 14 and switch 1 13.
I would correct the stacking cable issue as well before rebooting.

  • Enabling Netflow on Production 6500 Core switch

    Hi All,
I am looking for a little expert advise regarding Cisco Netflow. For monitoring I need to enable Netflow feature on 6500 core switch or 6500 load balancer with CSM module installed, but I am just concern about the CPU hits on the devices. we are not using any dynamic routing protocols. Can someone please advise how will it effect on the local resources when using Netflow? Is it fine if I enable this feature on these devices in production?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Mudassar,
Enabling netflow will not have a major impact on CPU or memory but you will want to keep a close eye on the switches TCAM utilisation. Features like  netflow,  TCP intercept and WCCP can use resources from “NetFlow TCAM Table”.
Use the "show mls netflow table-contention detailed" command to monitor TCAM utilisation.

  • Device Package for 3750X Switches

Is there a Cisco Works Device Package for the new 3750X switches?  Just bought
159 3750X-48PS-S switches to go with over 1000 3750G switches.

Thanks for the correction - I missed them when checking my earlier post.
3750X's ARE on both the LMS3.2 support list and the LMS4.0 / 4.01 support lists.
As you mentioned, applying the latest device support package will add them to the fold.

  • Replace 3750x switches with equivalent fibre models

We are currently using cisco 3750x's as our edge switches in our network (mix of 24 and 48 port switches).
The office is being reconfigured and existing cabling is going to be replaced with fiber.
What Cisco switch would be suitable (similar to 3750x) for gigabit fiber connectivity to desks?
    Thanks

Most like your existing 3750X's would be, as noted by Leo, the 3750X-24S.  You can also, of course, stack them with your existing 3750X units.
Regarding whether, as Leo suggests, they are "a sure waste of money", well I guess much would also depend on your cabling plant.  If your existing edge 3750X are in closets, and there's just a couple per closet, and you're just replacing floor copper, they probably are the most cost effective option.
Unfortunately, they are getting dated, and I see Cisco has recently revised the product page to suggest considering the 3850 (or 3650) series, although those don't have an all fiber model.

  • Rate Shaping/Traffic Shaping 3750x Switch Internet Access Circuits

Hello, I have 3750x running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE5 layer 3 capable. I have two internet access circuits on the switch both 100Mbps however there subrated down to 14Mbps by the ISP. Id like to rate shape out bound traffic toward the ISP so we dont drop traffic that exceeds the 14Mbps rate.
It appears this can be done at the layer 3 SVI or at the Layer 2 switch port level. Not sure which is the best way? Please could anyone show me the commands for acheiving the rate shaping?

I would just like to find out what feature set the 3750x needs to be able to enable the "ip routing" command.

Can it be done on the IP BASE feature set ? or the IP SERVICES set ?
