Netra 120 - Will a SunFire 120 Power Supply Work?

Thanks in advance for any help with this question.
Will a SunFire v120 AC power supply fit/work in a Netra 120?
I dont have a DC power source for my Netra, and would like to replace the DC power supply with an AC one. Will one from a SunFire v120 work?
Alternately, anyone know a cheap DC Power source that would work to power the server?
-allan

In answer to my own question, yes. I put the AC power supply from a SunFire v120 into the Netra 120 and it works just fine. This is probably the only difference between the two servers.

I just purchased a DV7T-7000 to replace my old DV8T-1100. I had purchased an extra power supply for when I travel. The power supply is a HP-OW120F13 Replacement spare part # 463953-001. The output on it is 18.5V 120W. The power supply that came with the DV7T-7000 has a output of 19.5V 6.15A.
Can I use this power supply with the DV7T-7000? The plug to the laptop is the same.

  • Will this video card and power supply work on my computer? HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop PC

I have a HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop PC, will this video card and power supply work on my computer?

    Power Supply: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4668507&sku=C13-2511
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

It is unlikely that the power supply will fit/work in your HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop Computer. Please consider the Corsiar CX500, CX500M, CX600, and CX600M for your power supply needs. These power supplies are the same physical size as the factory unit and are known to fit and work in most HP full-sized consumer desktop computers.
There is a chance that the GTX 760 and other current generation video cards may not work in your computer. These newer cards typically require the computer to support the most current UEFI standards and many motherboards don't meet this criteria. Please know the return policy on any video card you purchase, in case it doesn't work. If the GTX 760 doesn't work, consider the GTX 650/660 Ti or equivalent AMD graphics card for your graphics card needs.

    JCGood1984, welcome to the forum.
The computer should take a standard ATX power supply unit (PSU).  I suggest measuring the existing PSU and compare the measurements to the one in the links.  If the measurements are the same, it should fit.  I don't know anything about the brand, however.

  • G5 iMac Will Not Turn On - Power Supply Diagnosis?

My A1145 20" iSight PPC G5 iMac will not turn on - it doesn't respond to the power button. It had been shut down for a few days, I turned on the power and it booted up as normal, the desktop appeared and I was about to open the web browser when it suddenly went dead; the screen immediately turned off with no warning or noise. There is no fan or disk noise coming from it when the power lead is plugged in, just a very, very faint electronic hum from inside.
From reading various webpages, it seems possible that the power supply could have failed. Is there a simple way that I can diagnose this before deciding whether to attempt to replace it myself or not? I understand that there should be some diagnostic LEDs which could help identify a problem - I've removed the surround from the iMac and peeled back the black EMI film below the display but I'm not sure for what or where I should be looking (they seem to be easier to find on the 17" models).
Whilst I know a repair might not be cost-effective on such an old machine, I have 220GB of photographs, documents and music on it - none of which is backed-up - so I am very keen to get it working and backed-up as soon as possible.
Could anyone suggest how to diagnose the problem?

    Hi there:
My experience with Macintosh computers has not included the G5 iMac even though I almost got one to replace a failed-under-AppleCare iMac G4 17" 1.25GHz after three/four major failures and no local support.
...So, I think you may be able to pull the hard disk drive out of that computer and see if an external enclosure could allow you access those files IF the drive spins up at all. Sometimes odd things happen, and the G5 iMac had some history of capacitor and other failures that could be a problem. I see there are a few free information guides here that may be helpful: http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iMac_G5
If the battery on the logic board was dead, but the computer kept in running condition by leaving it plugged in, once the computer was left unplugged for a time then the device may fail to start. There is a way to reset the power management chip (different names for same idea as technology moved forward) and that could help in the process of troubleshooting most power related issues in the PPC Macs of later G3/G4/G5 design.
There are troubleshooting items of interest in here http://www.apple.com/support/imac/g5/ ie: what to do when your computer won't turn on...
Sorry to not be of direct help in this matter.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Will a 65w power supply work with the HP Envy 15t (which comes with a 90w)?

I have multiple extra 65w power supplies from previous machines.  The pin that plugs in to the machine is different, but there are converters to get the right size pin.  If I get that right pin, is it safe to use a 65w power supply with the HP Envy 15t, which came with a 90w supply?
One supply (65w) says the output is 19.5v, 3.34a.  Found another extra (90w) says the output is 19.5v, 4.62a.
The one supplied with the Envy says (90w) 19.5v, 4.62a.  I'm assuming with a pin converter, I can use the second one above?

    Hi,
For the 65W, It will work, BUT check the tip/connector. The only problems: battery charging could take longer time and for high graphics task it may display an error message. For the 90W, again pin/connector is the main concern.
    Regards.

  • Will the MBA Magsafe adapter/power supply work on an MBP?

Similar, but inverse question to this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6167022
From looking at several high res photos online, I can see that the MBA angled plug may be physically identical to that of the MB and MBP. So, mechanically it's all good. What about electrically?
I don't really care about needing to charge the battery at the same rate as the 85w supply. I just want something smaller for use during class (3-4 hours); I usually charge my Macbook Pro overnight anyway (or keep it plugged in).
Thoughts? I suppose I'll have to go to an Apple Store with my 'Pro and figure it out in person otherwise.

I'd be VERY wary of doing this. No problem using an MBP charger (with its higher possible capacity ) on the MBA, but using a lower capacity power adaptor might result in overheating and consequent damage to the adaptor, with the further slight possibility of shorting resulting in the high voltage side making its way to your MBP , with disasterous results .
Pulling out the battery when using the MBA adaptor might let you just about get away with running it safely, but I personally wouldn't risk it. I don't even like to use our 60W MacBook chargers on the MBP.
(I see in the other thread that some people are suggesting that the 85W charger might "overpower" the other computers. As ricktoronto has suggested there, this simply isn't so. The excess ability simply won't be used.
Using a low capacity charger / supply, like the MBA one, in a situation of high demand , on the other hand, can result in real problems, Overload can result in internal component failure or fire in the power supply. My bet is that Apple products will be pretty well protected against such things though).
    Cheers

  • Will this Power Supply work?

I'm getting my K8N soon, and I've spotted a new power supply that I want.  It's an Aspire 500W.  I won't BS with you guys - I like the LED's and the adjustable fan knob.  It has the specs (max, not peak, of course) below -
    3.3 - 28a
    5 -    30a
    12-   34a
Will this be adequate?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks.  I'm not really planning on putting tons of peripherals in here - 2 hard drives, a dvd drive, and a 6800 GT.  If you're running it fine, it ought to handle what i'm putting in there.

  • Will this power supply work for this tower?

I feel like everything on the computer is adequate but the power supply is only 300W. I need more than this so I plan on using this power supply to upgrade it.
    POWERSUPPLY
Can anyone tell me if this powersupply will fit and perform with the desktop I listed. Also if it does not, is there any suggestions as to what similar Watt power supply will work?
    Thanks

Unless, for some reason, Asus didn't use the ATX form factor for that case, that power supply should work fine.
Unless you are upgrading other parts, hockey's concerns aren't warranted. A power supply that is "too big" is never a problem, it's actually better for the power supply because it runs at a lower load. And, the rails on that ThermalTake can manage higher amps than the stock one can, guaranteed.
It's tough to max out a 850watt PSU in a mid-size tower like that.

  • Labview 6.0 run-time engine will not control BKPrecision power supply.

I created a test program in Labview 6.0 to control a BKPrecision power supply and Measurement computing DAQ in our test system. I am able to control both intsruments from my PC which has Labview loaded on it. I created an executable from the application builder tool for distribution. When i install the run-time engine and executable on a new PC (Labview not installed), i am unable to control the BKPrecision power supply. The BK power supply is connected to the serial COM port of the PC.
Do i need to install drivers that are not included in the executable build?
Do i need to install VXIpnp (VISA interactive control)?
    thanks,

The API Drivers are often times for more specific Operating Systems than the others (Linux, Pharlap, etc.) and they are more easily accessible for programmers that want to (and have enough time to put up with the headaches ) of building speciality drivers off of ours. 99% of the time you just want the drivers that come up first when you type in your driver name (NI-VISA). As to versions, issues can crop up later from not using the exact same driver version but all the drivers are built off of each other (they hardly ever scrap an entire driver and start over) so the problems should be minor. Its up to you about switching. Unfortunately to downgrade version you have to completely uninstall the driver from Add/Remove Programs>>National Instruments Software>>Your driver and then reinstall the correct one. If you have time, I think it is well worth it to do it right the first time. Hope this is helpful!!

Yes, it will work just fine.

  • Replacement Power Supply Works But Smells

Having replaced the Power Supply, and have it working again, I have noticed a sort of smell, an odour of very hot electronic components. I smelt it this morning when I opened the door where the G4 lives. Booting up it doesn't stop. On a scale of one to ten, I would give it about three. There is no smoke, yet.
Is there a software program which can show the internal temperature of the CPU's?

Yeah The smell is not diminishing. I had shut the door after a 4 hour session with the window open, I shut the door and the window and went out. When I opened the door the odour was there, a bit stronger because the door and the window were shut. Maybe the fans inside Power Supply or the G4 are not working properly, I don't know. The G4 is fully functional despite the smell, burning/melting, capacitors or something inside there. Anyone else had anything like this after a Power Supply replacement? Not funny.

You would be better off getting the Corsair TX650W single rail +12V~52A at newegg. Fresh price today, buy it now as it's the lowest cost it will ever be and where you live you'll get it in 2 or 3 days. It will take about 9-10 weeks to get the rebate, at least that's how long it took for mine.
$70, compare that to the price (almost 1/2) of the Kingwin and you'll be getting a much better PSU with the same 52A +12V total output.
