Netscape browser in SunBlade100

Hi,
I'm facing a problem by viewing my website in netscape, under SunBlade100, is that, I have 2 flash files in the main page of the website, and when it's loaded, the browser closed. I've taken out that 2 files from the main page, and the page can be loaded. But I've tried to put that 2 flash files in a single html page, it can also be loaded. and finally, the main page can be loaded after such experiment. I'm wondering why it's like that, and everytime I would need to do such experiment to get my page displayed? Please email ([email protected]) back to me if you know what's going on. A million thanks.

Ravi,
          I was having the same problem. It seems to be a problem with Netscape. I
          found that it was only Netscape running on the same machine as the server.
          When Netscape was running on a separate machine it was just as fast as ie.

  • SSOException for Netscape browser but not IE

    We are getting an SSOException (service URL not found: session) error when a user tries to log in using Netscape and they get bounced out with an invalid session message; however, the user is able to log in just fine if they are using Internet Explorer. After investigating the debug and log files, I can see that the problem is that when users log in with Netscape, the initial session id that is set with a cookie on the browser before the user authenticates is not being found by the Identity Server so it issues a new session id for the authenticated user. Therefore, I see a valid session for the user in the IS console, but the cookie stored in the Netscape browser has a different session id that is not valid (it was issued pre-authentication).
    The Identity Server is not having a problem with Internet Explorer (the logs show that the initial session id that is issued is the one that it finds and uses after the user authenticates).
    The Netscape browser is set to accept ALL cookies. In fact, when I configure the browser to warn me before accepting a cookie, I can see the initial cookie JSESSIONID being set on the Netscape browser.
    The weird thing about this whole thing is that up until last week, this was working fine in both browsers with their current configurations. We did change some configurations in the Identity Server to use the LDAP across SSL but I don't see how that would affect the browsers and the Identity Server's ability to locate the cookie in each browser.
    The only thing I can figure out from the debug files is that in the amAuth debug file, you can see where an initial session id is being set by a Netscape user, and after they hit the Login module, the session id is not found and a new one is issued. In IE, an initial session id is set and after the Login module, the initial session id is found and continues to be used. I cannot figure out why the Identity Server doesn't see the Netscape user's initial session id. I also cannot figure out what we could have changed that would cause this error to start happening only in the last week.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to where I might look?

    It sounds like you have malware on your computer. See [[Is my Firefox problem a result of malware#w_how-do-i-get-rid-of-malware|How do I get rid of malware]] for help.

  • Failed in JMF diagnostics in netscape browser 7

    I installed J2sdk 1.4.3 and jmf2.1.1e in Redhat Linux 7.3 and following their installation instruction to set up some environment variables. However I encountered two problems in configuring JMF.
    One is that when I configured the jmf-2_1_1e-linux-i586.bin, some error messages came up as following,
    java.lang.error: Can't open video card 1
    ....................................................................2
    ....................................................................3
    .....................................................................9"
    The second one is that after I run JMF diagnostics applet program to verify JMF installation. However, it failed with the following error message,
    "Java1.1 compliant browser... Maybe
    JMF classes.... Not Found"
    I do not what is wrong with JMF installation. Does this failure come from uncompatible version between Java SDK and JMF, netscape browser or other things?
    Thanks for your time to reply.

    Did you set up the JMFHOME environment variable ?
    That would account for the classes not found bit.
    Not sure if you also need to set up ld.library.path... ( or something similarly named ).
    I haven't done much on Linux, but very carefully read the install docs...

    Hello.
    Due to firewall issues I cannot state for certain if I am having a similar behaviour to yours. It appears that Netscape( 7.1 ) attempts to resolve to plugins.netscape.com irrespective of the pluginspage attribute ( if it resolves further I cannot see it due to firewalls ). IE appears to try and autoupdate ( based on the firewall challenges ).
    You could try and provide a conditionally constructed link ( with information about the JRE failure ) to the JRE of choice between comment/embed/object elements. It is not the solution you asked for, but a potential alternative.

    James.

  • Receiving parameter problem in Netscape browser

    Hello, suppose a variable, street, has the value of
    "1111 University Drive", and I pass this variable from
    form A to form B by using the procedure call:
    PORTAL30.wwa_app_module.set_target(....);
    When I use a Netscape browser, form B will only receive "1111"
    instead of "1111 University Drive". I know the problem exists
    because of the blank spaces, but I don't know how can I fix it
    so that form B will receive the correct value instead of the
    partial value? This problem does not exist in Microsoft IE.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Nilan,
    To get round this problem you need to substitute any spaces with
    their hex representation. To fix them use PL/SQL command replace
    e.g.
    street becomes replace(street, ' ', '%20')
    1111 University Drive will appear in the URL as 1111%20University%20Drive
    both netscape and ie should interpret this correctly.

  • How to force the Netscape Browser to open the "Open or Save" dialog box?

    Hi, I tried to force the browser to open the "Open or Save" dailog box for downloading a file.
    response.setContentType(context.getMimeType(file.getName()));
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + file.getName() + "\"");
    This works fine with IE for all file types( Even though he prompts twice to Open the file directly). but Netscape opens the file directly in the browser with showing any dialog box for text and html files. Anyone knows how to force the netscape in this case or for any file type? Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    any one has the solution for this issue ? I tried the search and I didnt find any answer.
    when your trying to open a pdf file as attachment is seperate window, it works well in IE but in netscape it opens up in the same browser, it doesnt open a seperate window
    res.setContentType( "application/pdf" );
    res.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=\"" + cofcFileName+"\"");

  • Has anyone tried the new Netscape browser 9.0

    I am using it now and I do have to say I love Safari but without anymore updates for it and it freezing on some web pages it is looking more like Netscape may be my replacement . Safari is best by far from the others in being smooth and blend so well with the OS . Opera, Camino , Firefox , and iCab all are good but some are just to buggy or hog up the resources or are like just a patch of a browser . Netscape is smooth in scroll , web page rendering and just looks great and is fast . What do you think.

    Instead of Netscape, you should try it's almost identical twin, SeaMonkey. SeaMonkey used to be called the Mozilla Internet Suite, from which the recent versions of Netscape are based. The difference is that there is no Netscape branding, and it's updated more frequently. Otherwise, they look and work the same. It even uses the same user files from the same location.
    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
    I've been using the Safari 3 beta. The most recent update is pretty solid. As an alternative I use Camino. There are some web sites that specifically look for FireFox or IE, so I keep FireFox in the mix for that purpose.

  • Netscape Browser Forcing Download Prompt with .jsp

    My apologies in advance if this topic has already been covered. Here is the behavior I've come across and can't resolve:
    When a user with an IE browser visits my site (i.e. http://www.mysite.com), the default page is loaded - no problems. With Netscape, the user is prompted to download. However, if the Netscape user types the full path to the default file (i.e. http://www.mysite.com/index_new.jsp) there is no problem.
    This would lead me to think there is a problem with my deployment - but I can't solve it.
    I'm using Tomcat 3.2.1 with the isapi filter. In the server.xml, I've set up a context to my server's root:
    <Context path="/"
    docBase="d:\root"
    crossContext="true"
    debug="0"
    reloadable="true"
    trusted="false" >
    </Context>
    In my web.xml file in d:\root\web-inf I've defined a <welcome-file>. Under IIS I also have a default page for the web root.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks - David

    Sorry, to clarify the default file is index_new.jsp - the underscore was lost when it was underlined.

  • JRE1.3.1_02 and Netscape Browser

    We are working with the Applet using Swing Components. Java Run time Environment version is 1.3.1 installed in Red Hat Linux .
    We installed Java plugin JRE1.3.1_02 Windows version.
    The applets are working fine with Internet Explorer 5.0. But with Netscape4.7 it is displaying the error
    error: NoClassDefFoundError : javax/swing/JApplet
    Applets with awt components are working fine.
    What could be the reason?Please help.

    It's working fine with both IE5.0 and Netscape 4.7 browsers once HTMLConverter1.3 was used for converting the HTML file containing the applet.

  • Help! Netscape browser problems

    Hi,
    This is my first time using layers, and I'm finding that
    Netscape 8 shifts text downwards slightly.
    I've posted the "Cafe Townsend" tutorial to illustrate the
    problem I'm getting-
    http://www.juliespetportraits.com/Cafe_Townsend/index_css.html
    If you compare the text in IE and Netscape you should see
    that Nescape has shifted it downwards slightly. Does anybody know
    how to fix this?
    Cheers,
    Neil

    But that was not the advice. The advice was to not use
    tables. This
    doesn't mean you have to use layers, and in fact you should
    not use them
    unless you really have a special purpose for doing so. Read
