Netscape7. How can I safeguard my old mail?

I work with a WallStreet 250 MHz/160/4 HD (OS 9.2), and I use Netscape 7 for communicating with e-mail. I would like to safeguard my old mail, and eventually export it to another Netscape 7 situated in an another WallStreet. I have been told that - to obtain this result - I should just copy the file "mail" (in Mozilla/profile) , and phisically transfer it (through a VST Zip, for instance). But it does not work. When I open the transferred file "Mail" again, I obtain a text in a very (rather confusing) different format.
Any advice?
Thank you all in advance

Thank you for your comment, jpl.
I acted as you suggested and I received some advice, in fact.
I am now in the process of checking if the advice I got, enables me to solve my problem...
I shall post in "Using MacOS 9 Discussions" the result.
Thank you

    Hallo Baby Boomer,
here am I again. I tried your suggestion. [Remember, I work with a WallStreet/OS 9.2/ and I usez Netscape 7.0].
I opened the HD. The Mozilla folder is situated in a folder called "documents". Opened "documents". Found Mozilla. Opened Mozilla. Found "Application Registry" and then "Profiles". Opened "Profiles". Found "Default". Opened "Default" and found a folder whose name is just a number followed by letters, ending with ".sit". There you have all sort of stuff, including "Mail". Ouff! So I switched this "mail" with the one I had in the other computer. No risults. Still the previous mail shows when I open again the Netscape, and I am unable to read the old "mail".
So I tried to switch not only "mail" folder, but the entire ".....sit" from one side to the other. The result is the same...
    Any new advice?
    Thank you

  • How can I organize my old mail with rules?

I like to organize my old mail, like I did before with seperate map's.
In the application icloud it will direct my new mail to other map's with rules but it will not with old mail's.
Also I like to work with rules and group's, if someone wil send me a email out of my group in adressbook then I like to dirrect this mail to a folder.
    How can I do this.
    thanks,

    Hi John and thank you.
    I use Mail.
I deleted the settings for the old account by mistake - I just thought I wouldn't need it anymore after having set up the new one - and suddenly the inbox was empty. A not so nice surprise
However I managed to find a folder named Mail with a POP - folder in it, in the trash can, which I dragged to my desktop. But I haven't been able to import it.
I found some useful earlier threads and intructions from some David Gimeno, so I removed the .mbox extension from the INBOX.mbox file.
BUT still, Mail won't import. It says it doesn't find any valid mbox files.
The INBOX.mbox is about 12 Mb, so I recconed there would be something in it.

  • My iCloud mail is used in my old apple id, how can i move my old iCloud mail to my new apple id

my iCloud mail is used in my old apple id, how can i move my old iCloud mail to my new apple id

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I remove my old e-mail I no longer use  also it does not have my birth date correct how can I change it?

How can I remove an old e-mail that I am no longer using?
How can I correct my birthdate?

If you have an email account that you want to delete, go to Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Email Account>Delete account.
If you have on old Apple ID that keeps popping up when you update apps, that old ID will always be tied to those apps and you must continue to use that ID and password when you update those apps.
If you want to completely sign out of that old account, and nothing on your iPad is still tied to it, go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores. Tap on the old ID and sign out. Then sign in with the new one
For the incorrect birthday go to here.

Mail suddenly marks as spam what is not and viceversa.
It has worked perfectly until a few days ago. How can I restore the old junk "learnt" list, since it is marking as SPAM senders who have been my correspondants for years?? Where is the old junk pref file to be found?

Why start a new and very similar thread to your other one which you have not responded to (have you read the replies?)
I suggest that no response is made to this duplicate thread.

  • HT1351 I have an IPOD that has not been synced to Itunes for several years. I no longer have the same computer or e-mail address.  How can I sync my old IPOD material to my new itunes account?

I have an older IPOD that has not been synced to Itunes for seceral yeras. I no longer have the same computer or e-mail address. How can I sync my old IPOD material to my new Itunes account?

Your email address (used as your Apple ID) does not matter, because iPods are not directly linked to a particular Apple ID.
NOTE:  You can still use your old Apple ID, even if your that email address is no longer valid.  As long as you remember your Apple ID password.  Go here and click on Manage your Apple ID.
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
You can change the primary email address used by Apple, although the Apple ID remains the same.
Back to the iPod.  iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library.  After confirming everything is there, sync your iPod to that library.  If there is any content purchased from the iTunes Store that uses DRM (copy protection), such as audiobooks, videos, and very old song purchases, iTunes may prompt you to authorize your computer with your Apple ID (the one you used to make the purchases).

How can I change my e-mail address on my iphone to a new internet provider that I just got.  I already went to appleid.apple.com, and then changed to new e-mail there, but for some reason when I pressed the save button, it seemed like it wouldn't want to save.

    Hi Ohtigers
    Is your document a PDF?
Did you have it open in Reader or Acrobat Prod?
Can you log into https://files.acrobat.com/ and search for your document?
If your document is a PDF, you can open it in Adobe Reader and you can send the file using Adobe SendNow
Select 'Tools' from the top bar
In the right hand panel select 'Send Files'
Click on  'Sign In' - you will be prompeted to enter your Adobe ID and password
Enter an email address into the To field

  • How can I change the e-mail address that shows when I try to order from iBooks?

Hi.  I recently had to change my e-mail address, and successfully changed my Apple ID to reflect the new e-mail.  However, while trying to order a book through iBooks today, I noticed that I was asked for my password and that my old e-mail was showing.  How can I change the old address to the new one so that I can order from iBooks?  Thank you.
    janiekhi

Hi, fromsouth, and thank you for your reply.  When I go to store, there is no place that says "sign out" so I can't do this.  My old email is showing, and when I click on it I am asked for my password.  I tried my old password that I used with that email, but was told it was incorrect.  This is so frustrating!  I can't do any ordering on my iPad until this problem is solved.  Thanks again.

  • How can I restore my e-mail

    Dear all,
I totally reinstalled my Powerbook G4.
Before I backup my mail by copying the content of
    Library -> Mail -> [email protected]@mail.domain.com -> INBOX.mbx -> Messages
After the reinstallation, I opened Mail and I created my accounts.
Then I copyed my backup into the same path of my Mac.
But all pasted Messages (xx.emlx) are not displayed in the Inbox when I reopened Mail.
How can I restore those e-mails?
    Many thank

    Hi Pierrot10,
Insert your backup disc (or plug your external hd), then open Mail.
In the File menu, click *Import Mailboxes* and follow the steps for a *Mail for Mac OS X* transfer.
Navigate to your CD/DVD's or external HD's backup and hit "OK".
This should create a new "Imported" folder in Mail with all your old messages in it, that you can then rearrange as you wish, creating new mailboxes etc.

How can i delete my old account .mac since i have iCloud on my account on my iPhone 4s
On my Mail, contacts and calendar in thesystem preferences

There should be a small + and - in the bottom left cornet of the system preference window. Make sure it's the account you want to delete that is highlighted before clicking on the - button.
