NetSize third party Private Dancer premium SMS

I have noticed recently that since Febuary I have been charged by NetSize for the private dancer service. Not having to of signed any agreement or recieved anything from them. It is a $10 charge per week and sincwe it has been going on I have totalled $170 in billed charges. I rang NetSize on 1300 785 025 and talked to the guy on the other end. He stated the service had been going since April 2014 but I got my new mobile with Telstra in Febuary. I also found out they manage multiple companies that do premium subscription services. The Private Dancer service is run by a company called MIM.

Hi JustSomeRandom,
To confirm, you have been charged a $10 per week charge for this service which is in total $170. You state you actually got a new phone in February.
Just a couple of questions to clarify the situation
Do you know of this service?
Have you used this service at some point?
Did you keep your phone number when you got the new mobile?
Did you keep the same account number when you changed phones?
Have you called the company and asked what this service is for and how you stop the charge?

  • Why am I getting redirected to the MSN homepage (when logging out of hotmail) with third party cookies not enabled? And why are exceptions to cookies being cleared in private browsing mode?

    I have the latest version of Firefox, I use Private browsing with Allow cookies but not third party cookies. Recently I have begun to be redirected to the MSN homepage after logging out of hotmail and whenever I add MSN cookies to the exceptions in cookies the list gets deleted. Can anyone tell me why, when blocking third party cookies should prevent that?

    Two initial thoughts:
    (1) If you look at the cookie names and content in the View Cookies dialog, are they the ordinary scramble of different names and values, or do they look like "opt-out" cookies? Some security software or add-ons may restore opt-out cookies after you clear them.
    (2) If you have any extensions that make requests to those sites, it's possible they are bypassing private browsing mode, although I would hope not. Hmmm.
    Unfortunately, unlike history where you can see the time that an entry was added, it is difficult to figure out when a cookie was set. But there are many cookie add-ons that might provide insight.
    Alternately, you could go directly to the cookies.sqlite database using the SQLite Manager extension. This is on the nerdy side, but manageable.
    (1) Install SQLite Manager from: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/sqlite-manager/
    (2) The extension adds an item to the Tools menu. If you do not normally use the classic menu bar, tap the Alt key to display it temporarily or press Alt+t to pull down the Tools menu.
    SQLite Manager may suggest a particular database, particularly on your second and later uses. You can skip that and it will open a new window.
    (3) On the toolbar (first screen shot), choose the cookies.sqlite database and click Go. This should display the database entries for all your cookies (second screen shot).
    (4) Select the following SQL query text:
    SELECT host AS Site, datetime(creationTime/1000000,'unixepoch') AS Created, datetime(expiry,'unixepoch') AS Expires
    FROM moz_cookies
    ORDER BY creationTime, host
    (5) Click the Execute SQL tab, paste the query, then click Run SQL. You should get a list of sites in order by the date their cookies were set (third screen shot).
    Are the dates all fresh? If they are older, something may be rolling back your cookie clearing.

  • Third party charges

    I would like to know if anyone has had issues with Verizon paying 3rd party vendors monthly charges from your Verizon account?  I am interested in knowing how you handled getting these charges stopped or are you currently being charged?

    Sounds like you  got stuck with some "Premium SMS" charges - you can block that  from happening in the future.  I was about to give you the steps to do it yourself on line but it looks like you'll have to call Customer Service and have it blocked - here's the pop-up message I get when I tried to do it myself:
    Block Premium Messaging
    Premium SMS (PSMS) Blocking prohibits adding premium fee based messaging programs to the selected mobile number while allowing all other messaging services (including text and MMS) to work as usual. PSMS Blocking will terminate all current Premium SMS programs at the time the blocking feature is activated. No credits or pro-rating will be applied to the Premium SMS fees already incurred. All messaging services will continue to be billed per your Calling Plan and Messaging Bundle or at the standard messaging rate as applicable.
    Any charges you have already incurred you'll have to deal with the third party....but you can call CS TODAY and no more charges will pile up. We've had the block in place since we got hit by these unscrupulous companies several months ago. I was lucky (apparently) and the charges were reversed, and we have the block in place now so we are not getting any more charges. Others have not been so lucky.
    Good luck to you....

  • Telstra's Third Party Purchases SCAM

    On my 03Dec-02Jan bill, I have been charged $65.25 for "Third party purchases"from "Openmarket Pty. Ltd." These charges were for me receiving 14 text messages from a company I did not know or request any service from. I have complained at my local Telstra shop and been told that the charges were linked to my "Premium SMS" service - a service I never requested from Telstra. I was also told that Telstra was simply forwarding these charges to me - and the shop manager had no reply when I pointed at the bill's letterhead and said that no one else was charging me money for unsolicited services. I have reported this scam to the Telecommunications Ombudsman (TIO) and also to my MP Lucy Wicks. I am appalled that Australia's national telecom provider should be an accomplice to this disgusting attempt to rippoff customers.  Please report here if you have also been subject to this scam.

    Hi Alantun0I have just received my Telsytra Bill and there is a third party charge from Openmarket Pty Ltd for 16 Messages at a cost of $75.25. From the conversation with Telstra I beleive they are aware of this Company and the Scam it is operating but this was not directly admitted. However given the information I have found on the web they are aware of this scam. Tesltra's line of reply was that it must all be my fault. However I did not ask for these messages to be sent to me and I did not subscribe to them as was indirectly suggested. Telstra said they were only passing on the charge they had received from Openmarket Pty Ltd. I pointed out that if that was the case and it was nothing to do with Telstra and they were only passing on the charge there was no reason why they they could not remove the charge from may bill and ask Openmarket Pty Ltd to bill me direct. As you expected this logic received no reply from Telstra. Telstra are to call me tomorrow after aparently talking to Openmarket Pty Ltd. This is clearly a Scam that Telstra will have been aware of for some time and it would seem that they could have done something about by now. If no joy then I expect the next stage will be formal complains to Telstra, Openmarket Pty Ltd and the Ombudsman. If still not joy then we can only vote with our feet. Regards Chrispip.

  • How Do You Generate a 2048bit CSR for a Third Party SSL Certificate for LMS 4.0.1?

    Our site requires Third Party SSL certificates to be installed on our servers.  We have an agreement with inCommon. I have to supply a CSR in order to obtain the SSL certificate.
    My installation is on a Windows 2008 server and I had the self-signed CSR already but it is only 1024 bits.  Is there someplace in the GUI or OS where I can change the encryption?

    This is a shot in the dark, but since CiscoWorks is using (I believe) Tomcat as the web server, could you run keytool to generate the CSR?
    http://help.godaddy.com/article/5276
    You could also use an online CSR gererator such as:
    http://www.gogetssl.com/eng/support/online_csr_generator/
    The key (pun intended) is having the private key on your server so that when you get the signed certificate and install it (using sslutil) it will be usable.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Kathy,
    Happy Holidays!  Do you have an iPad with cellular service and a text-messaging plan?
    Send messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201287
    What's the difference between SMS/MMS and iMessage?
    SMS/MMS lets you send text messages and photos to other cellular phones or devices. iMessage lets you send text messages and photos to another iOS device over Wi-Fi, without worrying about text-messaging charges (cellular data charges may apply).
    What do I need to use SMS/MMS and iMessage?
    Here's what you need to use SMS/MMS and iMessage:
    SMS/MMS: A text-messaging plan. Contact your carrier for more information.
    iMessage: An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later.
    How do I know if my message used SMS/MMS or iMessage?
    You can tell which type of message you're sending by the color of the Send button and text bubble.
    SMS/MMS: Send button and text bubbles are green.
    iMessage: Send button and text bubbles are blue.
    How can I link my iPhone number with Messages on my iPad, iPod touch, or Messages for Mac?
    When you sign in to Messages with your Apple ID on your iPhone, you link your phone number to your Apple ID. If you then sign in to Messages with the same Apple ID on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, Messages will link that device to your phone number as well.
    I hope this information helps ....

  • Allow desktop interaction within Azure Cloud Service with third-party desktop app (automated via code)

    Hello,
    I am developing a wrapper service as Worker Role which will take request from Service Bus and automate a third-party desktop app to produce an output file and then upload result back to our web server.  The automation is accomplished with the app's
    built-in .Net remoting based API.  This all works on my local development machine.  I am using code as below to start the desktop app.  In Azure:
    If I am not logged on to RDP and run the app as SYSTEM (or whatever the default WorkerRole account is), it waits forever for the MainWindowHandle.
    if I start the app manually in the RDP and try to get a reference to the running process (again as SYSTEM), I get Access Denied from WaitForInputIdle.
    if I start the app from code as the RDP user (ProcessStartInfo assign user/pass), I get InvalidOperationException - the app might not have a graphical interface from the WaitForInputIdle.
    Could anyone suggest the proper strategy for starting processes in a Worker Role that must create a window?
    For reference, I only care about the window to the extent that I need to make sure it's there.  All other interaction with the process is via the .Net Remoting API.
    private void GetOrStartThirdPartApp()
    _process = Process.GetProcessesByName("ThirdPartApp").FirstOrDefault();
    if (_process == null)
    _process = new Process();
    _process.StartInfo.Arguments = string.Format(@"-I ""{0}""", config.GetSetting("RolePath"));
    _process.StartInfo.WorkingDirectory = config.GetSetting("WorkingFolder");
    _process.StartInfo.FileName = config.GetSetting("ExecutablePath");
    _process.StartInfo.LoadUserProfile = true;
    _process.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false;
    if (config.GetSettingAsBoolean("StartThirdPartAppWithRunAs", false))
    _process.StartInfo.UserName = "user";
    var password = new SecureString();
    foreach (var c in "thepassword".ToCharArray())
    password.AppendChar(c);
    _process.StartInfo.Password = password;
    _process.Start();
    while (_process.MainWindowHandle == IntPtr.Zero) Thread.Sleep(50);
    _process.WaitForInputIdle();
    _process.Exited += _process_Exited;

    I'd keep the app with the UI and the queue reader in the same process and account - not a worker role.  On start up you launch the desktop application and the queue reader in the same account, one after another.
    From what I've experienced, two users don't have the same
    Window Stations, so you can't pass a window handle in a different logged-in account across that boundary.  Read the Window Station documentation - you may find something that helps.
    You could use other techniques like sockets to communicate cross-process and cross-window station, too.

  • Third Party CA certificate requirement for Cisco expressway C and E

    Hi All,
    We have implemented MRA solution for our customer, We had ask to procure the CA certificate from Third party CA certificate issuing vendor.
    We had shared CSR request generated from Expressway C and E application to generate SSL certificate, As per cisco document we had ask to procure “Quick SSL premium single domain” CA certificate for Expressway Series E and C server but as per the certificate issuing vendor, the application required “Quick SSL premium multi domain” as they observed extra SANs in CSR generated from the Expressway C and E applications. Need help to find out application required certificate,  who are using Third Party CA certificate for MRA solution.

    First of all, I don't see how you cant get away with single domain certificate. I have looked into this more. This is because you need to add your domain name in the SAN as detailed below.
    Secondly, I am not sure where you are going to generate the certificates from..You should generate your CSR from here..
    Go to Maintenance > Security certificates > Server certificate
    NB: Customer’s service discovery domain is required to be included as a DNS SAN in all Expressway-E server certificates
    This is what the CSR page looks like

  • UCCX 9.01 Database Access For a Third Party Application

    Hello Folks,
    I'm starting with Cisco UCCX (and Cisco Collaboration too) soo an old customer ask me for help in develop an Web Application to collect specific data from queues, agents... in the Cisco UCCX, until now everything is OK, no problem. This request was based because our customer has not adapted with the format of the data submitted for monitoring queues and agents presented by UCCX.  When we tried to collect those data from UCCX Server, we seen that UCCX have an internal Database and for collect data from this one is not possible by default by a Third Party Application. For this kind of solution, we'll need our UCCX server connecting directly with external Database (Like SQL, Oracle..) and a specific license is needed (Unified IP IVR or Unified CCX Premium). Then, our Application would collect data from this DB.
    is that right?
    Please feel free to share any suggestion and experience about.
    Best Regards,
    Rodolpho Pereira

    Hi Rodolpho,
    You need a PREMIUM license, in case you wish to integrate to an external DB (SQL, Oracle, etc). This is used in case of reading values from an external DB or writing values to the same using the DB Read and DB write steps.
    From my understanding, your customer needs to have a reporting capability through their third party application. This is generally termed as Wallboard.
    For more information on how to how to configure Wallboard, please check the Administrator guide for UCCX:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_9_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_U767AC77_00_uccx-admin-guide.pdf
    Basically, the UCCX has a uccxwallboard user whose password can be changed from the UCCX admin page to be used to integrate with the third party software. This user has access to the Real Time Statistics tables on the UCCX and can be used to pull out the necessary data.
    Hope this helps!

  • Decryption of Account Number Send By Third Party System

    Hello,
    We are processing CSV file sent by one of Third Party System.
    Earlier we used to receive plain text account number in this CSV file. For this month, Third Party System has sent this Account Number in Encrypted Format.
    My Question is how can I decrypt this Account Number so as to get it converted in Plain Text ?
    If I get Private Key / Shared Key used by Third Party system for encryption, How can I use it in People code so as to decrypt the account number ?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Atul.

    Hi Ram,
    of course you cannot supply the WSDL URL. Inside the WSDL (just view it in your browser) you find (usually but not necessary) towards the end something like
    <soap:address location="http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/xml/SOAP_server/ndfdXMLserver.php"/>
    which is the actual adress of the service.
    An example service can be found here:
    <a href="http://www.weather.gov/xml/">National Digital Forecast Database</a>
    containing the WSDL URL at
    <a href="http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/xml/DWMLgen/wsdl/ndfdXML.wsdl">this address</a>.
    You might also want to browse for the amazon webservices which allow you to embed queries against amazon into your application.
    have fun,

  • Serious Issue with "third party subscriptions" through text messages.

    Forgive me for perhaps sounding dramatic. After having this experience I nearly paid the fee to break my contract and quit on cell phones all together. If apple gets the iPhone to a point where no cellular carrier is neccessary I will be the first to join the party. I'm going to start trying this skype thing this weekend. Anyway, I digress, here's what happened. I get my bill from AT&T and there is a charge for download activity for $3.99. Not the end of the world but I call the number to find out what the charge is all about because I thought I had an unlimited data plan. Turns out AT&T calls it a third party subscription fee. I argued that if AT&T is charging it on my bill as far as I'm concerned I'm not concerned about the details, I hold AT&T responsable for what they put on my bill. According to AT&T's rep I recieved a text message asking me if I wished to subscribe to their service. I don't do the text thing so I never read any message like this. HERE'S THE KICKER - BECAUSE I DID NOT RESPOND TO THE TEXT TO SAY NO THANKS I WAS AUTOMATICLY ENTERED INTO AN ILLEGAL CONTRACT TO PAY $3.99 MONTHLY FOR A SERVICE I'M NOT EVEN AWARE OF. I was absolutly irate. The ramifications are astronomical. This means I could get a limitless unexpected bill. I look at it this way: If I had to write a letter, address an envelope, and lick a stamp every time I got an advertisement in my snailmailbox, I would never get out of the house and I would have to get on welfare to afford the stamps. To me there is an obvious legal precidence here. I realize that this has more to do with AT&T than Apple. I simply want to emplore Apple to save us from a world of disintigrating business ethic. Cellular providers have gotten completely out of control. When I feel like I need a lawyer just to call AT&T to discuss the inconsistency of my bill there is a serious problem. I feel like entering into a contract with a cellular provider endangers my financial stability in a fragile era. It just seems rediculous for a business to become so arogant that they can speak nonsense to a customer and we are put in a position to defend against such nonsense. Several of my friends have run into the same issue with text third party subscriptions. Last night at a dinner party three indicated that they finally had all the cellular provider crap they could take and they canceled their iPhone service and put it up on ebay. I love my iPhone, it is the most useful piece of technology I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. That being said, I cannot justify, as a household provider with a family depending on me, taking the risk of financial ruin (a $3000+ cell phone bill could do just that) initiated by arogant buisiness practaces that resemble the oppression I have witnessed through 12 years of military service in places with an excess of sand. I think it is apauling. I believe the FCC and FTC need to be brought into this. I intend to submit formal complaints to both and would encourage others that feel like I do to do the same.

    Not to diss those trying to be helpful, but the do not call list has nothing to do with spam TXT messages sent from a computer, which is where the OP's problem probably began.
    If a third party sent this message and then signed the OP up for a service he did not want, this violates any number of consumer laws and can be addressed that way. It's unclear whether this is really an AT&T issue at all, absent any evidence that it is their message or their service. It sounds to me like the CS reps do not understand the problem and are giving the not-helpful generic answer about spam TXTs. A much better solution is to set the SMS filters using AT&T's web site.
    Similar scams work on landlines, where you can accidentally end up getting a huge charge on your phone bill for something that has nothing to do with the carrier.
    I'd call the state consumer protection department.

  • Third party cookies in Safari

    Safari's been acting a little funky since the last update Version 5.1 (6534.50), so I've been checking on different settings. I have Safari set to block third-party cookies, pop-ups, etc.. and I set it to Private Browsing. Yet when I checked on the cookies that were stored, there were 67 different tracking cookies and 65 of them were third-party/advertisers. (This was after deleting all cookies previously so was just from visiting maybe a dozen primary sites, never clicking on any ads or links).
    So what's Safari's problem with this? Why doesn't Safari actually do what it says it's doing?
    Thanks for any insight.

    Safari and cookies management needs improvement as noted from the ASC forum search for Safari / Cookies here.
    What I'm trying to say is that you would have better luck managing cookies in another browser.

  • Third party application can list contacts from shared contacts folder, but not retrieve

    I am working with a third party developer on a problem occurring in their application.<o:p></o:p>
    The software displays the contact list and retrieves a fax number from Outlook. I wish to
    return a number from an Outlook Shared Contacts Folder.
    This works well under Windows 7 with Outlook 2013 in cached mode..<o:p></o:p>
    Running the same software in a terminal services window on a Remote Desktop Server running
    Server 2008 R2 with Outlook in Online mode an error is produced when trying to
    do the same. The contact list is shown, but when the code tries to retrieve the
    displayed record there is the following error:<o:p></o:p>

    If I open Outlook myself first, browse to People and click on the Shared Contacts Folder,
    then run the application, there is no error and everything works fine. It is as
    if starting Outlook from code is not loading all contact folder information.<o:p></o:p>
    Have you any suggestions on what may be causing this to happen and if I can do anything to cure this?<o:p></o:p>

    Sorry to be away from this for so long.
    It looks like Outlook is not initializing shared folders when it starts.
    I confirmed this using the following code for the Outlook startup event:
    Private Sub Application_Startup()
        Dim olApp As Outlook.Application
        Dim nspNameSpace As Outlook.NameSpace
        Dim objTempFolder As Outlook.MAPIFolder
        Set olApp = ThisOutlookSession.Application
        Set nspNameSpace = olApp.GetNamespace("MAPI")
        For Each objTempFolder In nspNameSpace.Folders
        Next objTempFolder
    End Sub
    With this in place I do not need to go to People and click the shared folder, and the third party app has no problems retrieving.
    The third party app starts Outlook itself if it is not already running. In this scenario no events fire.
    So the question is: Is there a means of executing this code when the third party app starts Outlook?
