NetStream.publish speed very low?

How to speed up the pace publish, config?client code?

take the estiamtor wiht a pinch of salt untill your fttc is actualy enabled it wont give accurate info, if its already enabled and the information propagated to the line estimator then it could be down to a lot of different things, including but not limited ot the type of metal used in the line, known High Resistence joints etc etc. if the retail checker isnt giving and estimate then chances are its still awaiting activation and is just giving out the adslmax rateing for your area.

  • Estimated FTTC speed very low

    Hi
    I am currently waiting for our newly installed cabinet to be enabled for infinity.  We are 300m from cabinet and cable path is straight down road.  BT wholesale checker give an estimate of 3.3mb for fttc speed.  I am thinking this cannot possibly be correct? We currently get about 2mb adsl and we are about 5km from exchange.
    Checker on BT retail site does not give estimated speed. Is this because wholesale estimate is so low?
    Thanks

  • Download speeds very low =ftp tests

    Hey ,, i ran into a issue here,
    few servers are connected directly to 6509 to gig ports with a speeds of 1000 full on either side and they are having a slow download speeds of 11 Mbps
    if i try to download an ftp from any of these servers ,,,download speeds are at 11Mbps.
    in the same switch speed is good between two servers and rest of the servers operate at low sppeds.
    If i try to involve another server connected to another switch,,, it is 28Mbps.
    can any one help me out figure out the issue.
    I am not able to figure out the issue
    Thnx

    ok. if L1 is clear, try tcpdump on server and client side. maybe there are some errors in tcp communication, or something like this.

  • Wifi speeds very low

    I feel that BT are leading a misleading campaign on "The best wifi speeds" on TV. I have just moved over from Talktalk where my speeds were great and the wifi was quick. BT wifi speeds come no where near the speeds I was getting before. If I'm cabled my line speeds are ok at 73mb BUT, wifi goes down to 2.8 down & .6 up. I have split the channels to see if this works and still no good. Speaking to the help desk was a waist of time as they only want me to factory reset my hh5 that is only 4 weeks old. I have been working as an IT employee for the last 10 years and in my experience this causes more issues than it resolves.
    Please, has anyone got the same issue with the wifi speeds on the HH5 as this is killing me. If you advertise FASTEST WIFI SPEEDS then deliver these speeds or I will look at my contract and leave.

    You really need to use wireless-AC to get the best speeds.

    welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods
    in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results .
    are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
    Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
    Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

    Try to rule out the HomeHub.
    First, power it off and on again (NOT the white modem) and see if that helps.
    Then try a direct connection from the computer to the modem: a bit of a faffle I am afraid.
    - connect from the modem LAN1 (that is usually connected to the HomeHub/router), to the standard ethernet port on the PC/Mac (that is also usually connected to the router.) So the HomeHub is out of the picture.
    - Make a pppoe connection. On a PC it will be something like
    - 'network and Sharing Centre',
    - 'Set up a new connection',
    - 'Connect to the Internet, set up a broadband or dial-up connection'
    - 'Broadband PPPoE'
    - Then enter username '[email protected]' and password 'bt'.
    Detail may vary a little between different version of windows, and of course even more different on Mac or Linux.
    Repeat your speed tests and see how they go.
    That will help check out if the HomeHub is the problem.
    ~~~~
    Also do a test with firewall and antivirus turned (temporarily) off.
    They can cause off speed problems.
  • Strange problem with broadband. Speed very low.
    Hi all,
    From last Friday I encountered really big problems with my broadband as the speed go dramatically down. I don't know what may be the reason, I'm using HomeHub and between it and computers in my household everything is fine. I haven't heard about any fixes round Aberdeen so have completely no clue what is going on.
    Do you have any clue what can cause the problem, for more than 3 years everything was just great. Maybe my HomeHub is old and faulty, it is the 1st gen, white one.
    I post speedtest results and ADSL info:
     Download speedachieved during the test was - 134 Kbps
     For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 4000-21000 Kbps.
    Update.
    First, do you always get reply from MODS? Today my connection dropped and after a while it was on again, I found my SN Margin reset to 6.5 and better bandwith 1205 / 19832 but the speed didn't improve at all. It is 24h since I've sent notice to MODS and I will wait another 24h before contacting them again. What really worries me is FEC Errors field in my ADSL Line details. Last time after 4 days it was 245'000, now after 6 hours I have more than 750'000. Is that normal after connection drop? I've checked speed using this speedcheck provided and my profile is still the same, 16000kbs
  • Very low upload speed on Skype?
    I had low download and upload speed on Skype for a while. I have fixed the download speed by resetting the settings. My upload speed is still very low. A speed test says I have 18 mbps download and 5 mbps upload. My download speed went from about 5 kbps to 150 kbps after the reset. My upload speed, however has stayed at about 5 kbps. Please help me.
  • Speed dropping to very low levels continually
    Hi!
    I have this wireless router for about a week now.   I have rarely been able to operate at the 54mbps capacity.  It continually rises and drops - sometimes to very low levels and it is REALLY frustrating.
    I have Cox cable in California as an internet provider.    I have the router protected by WEP.
    Does anyone have this problem too, or know what could be causing this?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    I have a second issue that I will post separate regarding Vonage compability.
    Thanks.
    Kate
    Try this info I found another website:
    I have found the fix to this problem. I had forgotten the "tcp receive window" size issue of yore (usually called RWIN). Win XP is supposed to dynamically manage this parameter to allow maximum performance, but in my case that did not happen for the wireless network adapter. My RWIN was sitting at 17520, which is too low for a 6Mbps internet connection with even average latency. I boosted it to 65700 and eventually to 131400 and am now seeing wireless internet download speeds equal to wired speeds. In my case both are averaging around 5.5Mbps with peak data rates of 6.6Mbps (the cable modem cap).
    Based on my experience, I suspect many folks with high bandwidth connections (>1.5Mbps) may not be getting the wireless performance they should.
    There are a number of sites with information on how to measure, optimize and set the RWIN parameter. Here are a few:
    Sync lr and lr mobil without creative cloud? Speed up with very low internet speed in China?
    The Internet is the only way to synchronize Lightroom and Lightroom Mobile. It's unfortunate that you have a slow Internet connection.
  • Very low Transmit Rates
    I am experiencing very low transmit rates when using the 5GHz band. It goes down to Transmit rates of 56, and when i use the 2.4 n only it's still low at 90-117, I think it's really effecting my download speeds on the Apple TV when we're renting HD movies. It says it'll take and hour to be ready to play. Do you think that our Time Capsule is faulty?
    On 2.4 GHz band, the link-speed (transmit rate) you are getting is average.
    However, when you downloading a rental movie, the bottleneck is your broadband connection.
    Have seen Apple's published figures on buffering time before you can start watching an HD movie?
    http://www.apple.com/appletv/specs.html#movierentals
    Most people have a broadband speed between 2Mbps - 768kpbs, so the wait time is somewhere between 2 - 8 hours.
    IMO, your TC is working correctly, there is nothing to worry about.
  • Infinity 2 up and down speed, very slow, huge ping...
    Hello wonderful friendly people, i'm looking for a bit of help to narrow down the cause of the terrible internet connection I have.
    I live in a flat in a new build block in Bristol, just moved in with the owner who has had a few different connections with different providers in the last few years but have always been really bad service. He is now paying for Infinity 2 but we experience massively varying internet speed, as low as 0.25 Mb and as high as 20Mb download, but upload seems to be a bit more stable.
    Streaming netflix, downloading files and general browsing is somtimes OK, but mostly terribly slow. It seems the speed goes up and down constantly, hitting rock bottom very often. Playing games is an absolute nightmare. Ping as low as 5, then shoots up to 500 meaning we can't play at all.
    In short, paying a lot for terrible internet. The connection is through the phone line, we have a Homehub 3 but with an ADSL modem, i'm not sure we should be paying for Infinity if it's going through ADSL though? I thought Infinity was only phone line for the last bridge between house and local cabinet?
    I think the problem is with dodgy cabling in the flats. From my experience this is where the problem points to but I want to be sure before I go to BT and ask for them to fix their line problems.
    Here are some results from the last few days from speedtest.net
    Can anyone help me with tests I can do to find where the problems lie, i.e. ping tests, trace routes and the like?
    Cheers!
    Download speedachieved during the test was - 3.89 Mbps
     For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 16 Mbps-77.43 Mbps .
     Additional Information:
     IP Profile for your line is - 77.43 Mbps
    Upload speed achieved during the test was - 6.77Mbps
  • Video files show very low resolution poster image
    Using Indesign CC and the latest tools and content viewer I am creating Autoplay video animations for the cover of our weekly magazine.
    With each issue I have published the same problem occurs where the poster image for the video file is very low resolution and makes our content look very amateur (for a brief moment) before playing the video file at full resolution.
    I have tried creating animations using flash, photoshop and Edge Animate, exporting MP4, MOV and OAM files. The problem is present with all movie files and with the Edge animation files a white flash appears before the file plays.
    Is there a solution for either of these issues? We are looking to continue to use animations for our covers and need them to look 100% crisp and clean.
    Sorry to jump in but I'm having the same issue too!
    I have an H.264 mp4 which I created in After Effects and inserted using the Media panel within DPS.
    As you see below, it plays on page load and I have chosen the finished front cover to be the poster image when it ends from within the Folio Overlays panel. I have set the video to stop on the last page.
    When the video stops you can see all the artifacting around the text which I would expect to be as crisp as the original PSD file I uploaded as the poster image.
    Is there anything I'm doing wrong or is there anything that can improve the quality of the final still?
    To add, this has happened about once a month for the past 6 months or so, with speeds dropping to around 0.14Mbps, usually returning within a week. However since it happens quite often, and since the speeds are so low it means that for about one week a month (or more) the broadband is practically unusable. It's starting to get annoying because we aren't really getting what we're paying for!
    What can we do to stop it from being set so low, or otherwise how can we get it reset sooner when it happens?
    Thanks.
