  • BO XI 3.1 SP2 Issue

    Greetings to all,
we are encountering a strange issue after installing the BO XI 3.1 Service Pack 2 on our server: row-level restrictions created in the universe are no more applied to InfoView report, while throught Desktop Intelligence/Web Intelligence the restrictions are applied correctly.
This happens just after the SP2 installation.
We have tried to recreate the restriction, to export the report again, but nothing has changed.
We also have a trouble with dates: now reports in which we select an interval on dates seem to operate like a "greater than-equal to" statement (for example, if we select an interval from 24/08/2009 00:00:00 to 30/08/2009 00:00:00, the report select data from 25/08/2009 to 30/08/2009). In addition it seems to exchange months and days even if we did the correct changes in the prm file.
The trouble related to the interval appers only if we also select the hh:mm:ss.
    Thanks for your help.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  Our security folks won't let us open IE up to load unsigned ActiveX controls.

  • Tecra A8, WinXP SP2 - issue with built-in speakers

    Hello there,
I know this issue has been brought up a few times, but I can't find a solution.
I recently inherited a Toshiba Tecra A8. Problem is : the built-in speakers can't seem to work, but the sound is just fine on external speakers or headphones. The speakers used to work at some point in the past, but the previous owner can not tell me what caused the sudden change.
Here's what I did, chronologically, after browsing multiple forums :
    - SP3 was installed when I got the computer. I tried to revert back to SP2.
    - I've reinstalled XP (had to, machine was too slow). SP2 came with the install CD.
    - I've installed two XP hotfixes that were supposed to solve the problem : KB835221 and KB888111
    - I've re-installed the Realtek Audio HD codec
    - I always try muting/unmuting after everything I do, even before or after a reboot.
Here's what I can tell so far :
    - Sound icon is present on the system tray. All volumes are up, whether on the Windows sound manager or on the Realtek one.
    - I do not have DOS beeps.
    - I'm still on SP2. Didn't try moving on to SP3 (on this new XP install, of course).
    - Before I did reinstall Realtex Audio HD, the "internal" option listed under "I/O audio" was shown, but I couldn't access it. After the reinstall, it simply disappeared.
I think that's pretty much it. I came across the same solutions on different forums or group discussions. I've been searching for two days now, to no avail. The computer has never been dropped or damaged, and since it seems that a lot of people experience(d) the same problem as mine, I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware problem. Well, I hope it's not.
So there. I urge you, nay, I beg you to work your magic and come up with a flawless, absolute solution that will give me back the joy of listening to Justin Bieber in peace. Or something else.
    Thanks in advance !

The speakers dont work but the sound is coming from headphones and external speakers?
Well, this would mean that your sound driver is OK and this is probably a speaker related problem. I think it speaker hardware malfunction :(

  • PI 73 sp2 - issue with multimapping

We are having a strange issue in PI 73 sp2. We recently upgraded from PI 711 to PI 73 and migrated all our development artifacts over to the new instance. We have a multimapping scenario (1:3) which was working fine in the PI 711 instance is not working anymore in the new PI 73 instance.
    It is a
                                       SOAP (AE) -> IE -> JDBC/ABAP Proxy
    scenario.
We can see the payload in the RWB in Comm Channel monitoring but when it comes to the IE, mapping runtime is receiving an empty payload and the mapping fails.
Has anyone encountered any such issue ? I am hoping that someone can point me to a OSS note as it doesnt seem like anything is wrong with the interface as such. It was working just fine in the PI 711 instance and no changes were made in the new instance.
    Thanks
    Sridhar

Gabriel .. we are using the SOAP Adapter, we did update the meta-data to the PI BASIS 7.30 version. We are able to see the payload in the RWB in the SOAP Sender channel.
On further research, we noticed that the mappings migrated over from the PI 711 box to the PI 730 box are not working as designed as the contexts seem to be messed up. Hence, the sequence of execution is haywire and causing lot of errors. I am not sure if anyone else is facing similar issues.
    Thanks

  • Netweaver 7 (ECC6) issues list?

    Hi,
We're currently on 4.6c and going to upgrade to ECC6 with unicode I'm trying to compile a list point taken care converting to unicode from ABAP technical point of view. Does anyone have such a list?
Some points i shortlisted are :
    1) Use GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD rather than WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD.
    2) Structures or table headers that contain non-character data need to be identical when moving, comparing, selecting into, updating from, etc.
    3) OPEN DATASET filename IN TEXT MODE FOR INPUT ENCODING DEFAULT.
And also i am looking any other functionality that has been added to ECC6?
I know there are others. Any help would be appreciated.

What NW support package depends on your O/S - for example Windows 7 SP21 is recommended
Lastly SAP supports product areas on IE8 as indicated in www.service.sap.com/pam - however cannot guarantee
    customer products (on any platform)
Also although as a general rule of thumb all SAP products that run on the IE8 supported Netweaver platform should work
and are supported as per the PAM
    - bug fixing is always an ongoing  process and although very rare, application teams may still be able to take a decision not to extend support for all or part of a product on certain browsers due to technical reasons
For IE8 though it has a compatibility mode which makes it run as IE7 therefore you should still be able to use SAP delivered
    products that work on IE7

  • Java Plug-in not working with WinXP SP2 Registry Key Missing Error Pop-Up

I have WinXp PRO with SP2 and the Oct 12 Security Update Patch for SP2 loaded and I went to my Control Panel and saw that the JavaRuntime Environment 1.4.2_04 icon was missing and when I went to click the Java Plugin icon to Open it, I got the following message in a Error Pop-Up window:
The system cannot find the registry key specified:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java pPlug-in\1.4.2_04\JavaHome
I then went to Chage Access Program Controls and when I clicked on the Change box for the program, it wanted me to re-install the whole environment.
Prior to doing this, and potentially screwing up my MS winXp environment, I went to the Sun support page for Java Plug-in and I did get the dancing elmo appear as they said I would but I noticed that my environment was MS VM, not Java and that I was out of date and a newer update was avaliable.
The downloads page for the plug-in states clearly that it supports WinXp SP1 and NOT SP2.
SO, my question is, do I need to re-install anything or wait till the whole SP2 issue and java with (BITS) issue gets resolved and just use the MS VM engine during my browsing time? Is there a workaround and what impact will this have on my system? I am not developing Java Apps but am a Power user in Windows who is wondering if applets and general browsing might be easier, faster and more fluid if the Java Runtime was enabled as opposed to the MS VM solution?
Any ideas or thoughts on this very timely issue would be greatly appreciated as I see others have tried to post related issues but none that succinctly combines what I have asked for here in this post.
    Thanks from NYC -Phil

did you know that XP SP2 has so many technical problems? try SP1 or contact the WindowsXP Vendor

  • Cannot install ZfD65 SP2

    Scenario:
    NW 6.5 SP5
    ZfD 6.5 SP2
    Issue:
I have a server running ZfD imaging and wks import/removal.
This server runs ZfD 6.5 SP2.
Now I also need to install Inventory services from my product CD.
But installing ZfD Inventory services from the product CD
degrades ZfD 6.5 back to v6.5.0.4, while it before Inventory install was
    running v6.5.2.0 (SP2 installed).
I therefore need to reinstall SP2, but installation fails, stating that either I'm not
logged in with proper rights (although logged in as admin), or ZfD is not installed
    on the server.
I have tried all possible combinations of the registry settings described in TID 10098135,
and I have also tried to install SP1a before SP2, but nothing helps.
Looking at the ZfDDebug.log, the last lines in the log are:
SelectProductsPage: Adding IMAGE_FS1.ADM.HAMAR_KOMMUNE to valid Servers
SelectProductsPage: Number of valid servers = 1
    SelectProductsPage: server [0] = HAMAR_TREE IMAGE_FS1.ADM.HAMAR_KOMMUNE 6 IMAGE_FS1
SelectProductsPage: Attempting to authenticate to IMAGE_FS1
    SelectProductsPage: Authenticated to IMAGE_FS1
getZenworksVersion: Attempting to get zenworks version from IMAGE_FS1
    getTextFile: \\IMAGE_FS1\SYS\System\zenquery.out
But the file zenquery.out does not exist anywhere...
It seems as if the SP2 installer cannot determine whether ZfD is installed in the server at all,
or that the version cannot be read out.
I have revived the tftp imaging services via salvage, but i fear that there ar far more
files that hav been set back to v6.5.0.4 insted of the correct (and actually installed) v6.5.2.0.
What must I do in order to reinstall ZfD 6.5 SP2 again?
And why is there not any updated product CD iso-file including SP2 to download?
Every download are old iso images...
    Please help!

Now as far as I know....Netweaver 04 is referred for EP6.0...
So the way i read this document title is :

Can anybody explain me this confusion (how does this document talks about migrating EP6 to EP6).

    Saurabh,
Also is SR1 on NetWeaver and SP2 on non-Netweaver environment.
    Is this the basic difference.

  • SB Live! WinXp Pro SP2 probl

I installed my old SB Li've! card in my new system (Athlon64 3500+, MSI K8n Neo2 Platinum). Windows recognized the card and installed its own drivers, I reboot and everything is working properly. I install the Li'veDRV-pack driver pack, which seems to go OK, I reboot, I hear part of the log on sound and then the sound cuts out. Then there is no sounds comming through the card. The creative diagnostics list everthing as a pass, and the speaker test work, but I get no sounds from windows or any applications.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall to no evail. I think this is an SP2 issue but there is no obvious error to go on.
Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated.
    Mike

    Mdidonato,
    Try this:
Go to Control Panel/Systems, then go to the advanced tab. On here there will be a button for performance Options, click on this. In here there should be a tab for Data Execution Prevention. Set this to "turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select". You will now want to add the CThelper program to the list in here, it is typically located in c:\windows\system32. Then reboot the system and see if you get sound.
The DEP error is caused by a feature on your processor called "Enhanced Virus Protection (AMD)" or "Enahanced Disable Bit (Intel)" or NX (No eXecute) Bit in non-trademark speak. This is a new way to prevent buffer overflow exploits from effecting your system, however it can have some drawbacks. Let's see if disabling this helps us fix the problem.

  • RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND for XSLT and Java Mappings (SXMB_MONI)

    Experts,
I need your opinion / experience about a problem that we have been facing here:
XI 3.0 was upgraded to PI 7.0, but since then all interfaces that uses XSLT and Java Mappings throws a RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND error in SXMB_MONI only in the production environment.
We found SAP Note 951318 that describes exactly the scenario we have here. The note also inform that the issue is solved at SP 07 (for PI 7.0).
The problem is that we find out that abap and java instance are with different SP ( SP 13 for abap and SP 09 for java) after XI upgrade to 7.0, since they had a error at java instance.
Have anyone of you facing with this problem?
I believe that even having a SP greater than 07 (as sap note 951318 requires), as we have an difference between abap and java SP, this issue might have been causing the problem.
    Points will be given.
    Regards,
    Daniela

Yes, thats true. As you can see,
In XI 3.0 (SAP Netweaver'04), the issue is solved in:
               SP 18,
SP 17, patch 1 (archive SAPXITOOL17_1. sca for XI Tools)
SP 16, patch 4 (archive SAPXITOOL16_4.sca for XI Tools).
you need to import and put a patch if you are using XI 3.0. but in your case it is PI 7.0.
So please check out the SAP Note : 950608 and download SP 07,patch 2 (archive SAPXITOOL07_2.sca for XI Tools).and Note 952402 .

  • Is Via 4-1 required for XP SP1a

I am about to install XP SP1a and dual boot with my current o/s win98se. I was wondering if I actually needed the 4-1 (as a necessity or to improve performance) or whether XP SP1a has all these driver requirements naitively.
Have you guys installed the 4-1 on your XP rigs?

    installed and what not:
    1. I am sure that I MUST install the INF file
    2. I am sure that I must NOT install the IDE miniport driver
    3. I am reasonably sure I MUST install the IDE Filter driver (aka ATAPI Vendor  Support Driver)
    4. I am reasonably sure that I MUST install the AGP Vxd Driver. (I have read that with SP2 this module should definitely not be installed and the MS driver should be loaded instead).
Am I correct in my assessment please.
Many thanks again for your help
XP will only install the portions that are actually needed, so there is no need to be concerned about which parts to install.
I do believe you have listed everything correctly, as far as what XP actually uses.
As for the SP2 issue, I have heard about that, but I cannot confirm nor deny, as I have not attempted SP2 on my machine.
