NetWeaver Gateway Productivity Accelerator (GWPA) Offline Install

So far, all of the other tools available at https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/ have an offline install available at https://service.sap.com/swdc/. My company's security policies block me from performing online installs.
Is there an offline install available for GWPA?

As SAP generally tries to support the current and the previous versions of Eclipse, we will soon remove references tohttps://tools.hana.ondemand.com/juno from the index pages. Only the tools which support Eclipse Kepler and Luna will be listed on “SAP Development Tools for Eclipse” update site.
Are you not able to install GWPA components in eclipse junos?

Issue while installing sap netweaver gateway

I am trying to install Netweaver Gateway on SAP netweaver 7.3.
Once the *.SAR files are placed in EPS inbox folder of the server, we are unable to find these add-on packages in transaction: SAINT.
Tried to install this on Client 000 and 001

Please try to extract .SAR file contents using SAPCAR.exe utility?
You can find the tool at D:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\exe location, use -xvf option to extract content to EPS\in folder. Then load the extracted packages from Application server using SAINT again.

SAP Netweaver gateway in solution manager

Hi ,
We have a solution manager 7.1(netweaver 7.02) and ECC IDES EHP 6 system for which we need to configure Netweaver gateway. We have installed netweaver gateway 2.0 components in solution manager system. Now is it possible to configure gateway on solution manager system instead of building a separate netweaver system for configuring gateway.
Wondering if we can make solman as gateway system for accessing ECC IDES. Please give your suggestion and steps to perform.

Netweaver gateway in three tier landscape

Hi experts,
Can You please explain what are the best practices when using SAP Netweaver gateway central HUB deployment in three tier landscape. Is it sufficient/possible to use one gateway system for all (DEV, QAS PRD) systems, or there is a must that every backend system has its own dedicated gateway system?

Hi Igor,
I would not support having one gateway system for all three (not even two) landscapes.
For each landscape, it is a standard to have their of set of systems. Rather, any kind of communication between cross landscape systems is usually strictly prohibited.
Still, let us think on what might be the consequences.
Each service will have three system aliases one each for each of Dev, QA and Prod.
What if a production service by mistake starts pointing to a Dev's system alias and starts showing products from Dev landscape? disastrous for the company!!!
If you are worried about having to maintain one extra system for Gateway you can consider 'Embedded Deployment', which I have seen many clients have adopted successfully. (be aware of limitations though)

Apps using Netweaver Gateway

Hi,
we are trying to build Restful services using using netweaver Gateway, and have just going through the documentation and blogs in sdn being beginners .
In our landscape,
Gateway addons are installed on SAp bacjend system from where i need to pull the data say System A.
Gate way server is installed on different machine say System B.
Now Should i create GW data models on backend system System A and GW consumption model on Gateway system System B?
Most of the blogs are written ,wherein both of them aer running on same system?
Any pointers will be appreciated.

Hi chandra,
NetWeaver Gateway system needs 2 data model definition.
One is for provider side (SAP side) and the other is consumer side.
Regarding provider side SAP system discloses meta data such way as WSDL, so we can generate data model automatically by using NWGW proxy generator.
On the other hand consumer side data model should be defined by hand.
And of cocourse we should map-program between provider side and consumer side.

Netweaver Gateway Architecture

Hello All,
I am looking for architecture of Netweaver Gateway. We are planning to implement Netweaver Gateway 2.0 in Standalone mode. The main objective to implement Netweaver Gateway is to consume apps based on UI5/HTML5 and probably Fiori Apps in future.
I have following question around this requirement:
1) Do we need to place Netweaver Gateway in DMZ zone?
2) Is it possible to design architecture in such a way that all mobile applications should connect to Netweaver Gateway system via Web Dispatcher? Obviously, we don't want to expose Netweaver Gateway to internet.
3) If we route all communications via Web Dispatcher to Netweaver Gateway which I think should be possible, what will be the complexity or disadvantages?
I found couple of documents but none of them clearly explains architecture in this area. Please provide your valuable suggestions.

Hi Neeta,
You would need to consider additional factors to make that decision. Primary of which is what is the landscape being used by your customer. You have to consider things like how the users will access the app? What would be the security and authentication mechanism? Would you need reverse proxies or load balancing? Does the customer already have an existing infrastructure for web based applications which you should plug into?
First off, I will assume you have a NW Gateway system in place for the services that are being used by the SAPUI5 app. If that is the case, then you can certainly deploy the UI app on the same server. The process described in the blog above would end up creating a BSP application, which can then be captured in a transport and moved to QA/Production.
On the other hand, if your customer has already has an existing infrastructure for hosting and serving up Web based applications, you may want to leverage that existing infrastructure instead.

Confusing as 3 gateway products

Tt is confusing as 3 gateway products
Oracle API Gateway,
Oracle WSM Gateway,
Oracle Enterprise Gateway ( seems they just changed name is for later version ??? )
and one agent based OWSM ( oracle web service manager).
Gateway product supports “Secure FTP (SFTP)”
but did not get anything document which shows OWSM supports SFTP.

OEG(Oracle Enterprise Gateway) was renamed to OAG(Oracle API Gateway). OEG is for versions 11.1.1.* while OAG is for 11.1.2.* versions. This link should

OWSM has had 3 major release versions : 10g, 11g and 12c. From 11g onwards, OWSM is part of SOA Suite install and there is *no* Gateway component. While OEG/OAG are standalone installs.

OEG is the 11g successor to the OWSM 10g Gateway. OEG is the first line of defence ("perimiter security") when SOA services are exposed to the outside world. This is the equivalent of a DMZ firewall.

Flash Builder 4.6 and SAP Netweaver Gateway plugin works just fine

Hi, i have just installed the new Flash Builder 4.6 and add the SAP NetWeaver Gateway plugin on it.
I you follow the documentation available (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashbuilder_sap/flashbuilder_sap_gettingstarted.p df) and then select the "DEMO_BANK" service instead of the "DEMO_FLIGHT" as writtent in the documentation and then bound the "selectZ_demo_bankCollection" to your datagrid, the demo works just fine.
My platform specification is:
- Windows 7 Integral running on VMware Fusion installed on my MacBook Air (just installed yesterday and full updated from Windows Update)
- Flash Builder 4.6 (fresh download from this morning)
- Internet Explorer 9 (last update at this time)
- Flash Player 11.1.102.55 (last update at this time)
- flashbuilder_sap_p1_plugin_110111 (the SAP Netweaver Gateway Plugin) available at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashbuilder_sap/

note sure if I'm much help other than to CONFIRM it is working for me by using the sdk WITHOUT the compiler. Check out adobe's little note: "Note : Flex users will need to download the original AIR SDK without the new compiler."
I am using FB 4.7 with AIR 3.6 and seems to compile correctly for iOS.
Maybe try reinstalling flash builder?
I honestly don't know if the JRE has anything to do with it... I'm using 1.7 ....to see what JRE you're using, open the Java Control Panel (I right click my java orange icon and hit properties), select the Java tab, then hit "View..."

Odata Netweaver Gateway for XCode Plugin

Where can the XCode Plugin for IOS development be downloaded from ?This is to consume the Odata Services generated from Netweaver Gateway?

I was actually referring to this document SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 Developer Tool for Xcode
which has an installation link to download the plugin but eventully redirected to https://store.sap.com/sap/cp/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html?pid=0000000359- GWPA an eclipse plugin.
Since this document i am referring is an old one , is there any work around for this now ?

SAP Business Workflow and SAP Netweaver Gateway - Missing extensible elements

Hello,
For a mobile project we use SAP Netweaver Gateway in order to retrieve information from workflows stored into SAP Business Workflow.
We are able to retrieve standard informations for a workflow but custom fields added into "Extensible Elements" section are lost when exit SAP NG.
We have checked the configuration of SAP NG (by 4 differents person) and it seems to be OK.
Do you have an idea why the custom fields are lost during SAP NG processing ?

Office 2013 - Excel 2013 - "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."

I had Office 2010 starter and Outlook 2010 installed. I recently purchased the Office 2013 click to run version (paid monthly subscription) and installed Office 2013. After installing 2013 I noticed that when I opened up Excel files they would
still open in Office 2010. I uninstalled Office Starter 2010 and uninstalled Outlook 2010.
I then manually fixed the file associations for Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and such, however I could not manually fix the Excel file association.
Excel documents show the correct icon however when I double click on them the following error appears "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
I have used the Office 2013 repair process, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2013, I have manually uninstalled office 2013 using KB 2739501 (
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us ) and I still can not open Excel documents.
Recently I found that I can not do mail merges either using Excel documents as the data source and I believe the two items are related.
Any suggestions?

Please try to turn off compatibility mode and then check the issue again. To do this, please follow:
1. Open this folder location:
For Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
For Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
2. Find Excel.exe, right-click it, and choose Properties.
3. Click on the Compatibility tab and ensure that all of the boxes are
un-checked.

How do I go about getting the product serial number to register my product as well as install my product. I bought it with a product box. On the software disc sleeve, there is a series of numbers pasted at the bottom of the sleeves but this is not valid. When I tried to type this in for registration, it does register as this numbers also contain letters in it. Apparently the registration boxes accept numbers only. What do I do with a useless product for which I have paid good money for it?????

This is the simple solution which was offered to me when I tried to get the serial code on line.
The box and disc sleeve do not contain a series with 24 numbers which I presume is the product code to install.
I tried to redeem the registration code by following what they recommended, but inevitably it gets to the page that showed the registration boxes that need 24 serial numbers and I got stuck again.
This product is so different what my previous experiences of other software products where I just enter the serial number straight from the disc sleeve and then I got registered and go on to use the software.
I is really frustrating, spending the last two hours trying to get my product going....
