Netweaver J2EE full version - problems starting the server

I am attempting to run the 2004s sneak preview on a Win2k sp4 system, and the memory usage seems quite ludicrous considering that the system requirements say 1GB should be sufficient. I managed to run the ABAP preview on my machine at home, and it used up less than half a GB of memory. The J2E system has eaten up the entire page file so that memory usage has gone almost to the limit.
Is this normal, or have I missed something? Even 2GB of ram wouldn't be enough, considering I'd also like to be running the IDE...
Anyway, it doesn't seem to manage to start properly according to the SAP management console.

The config tool i s in a directory called something like "C:\usr\sap\J70\JC03\j2ee\configtool". There is a batch to start the program.
That works also in the preview versions. This tool goes directly to the database, so no need to actually run the server.

    2 things to check:
    1. Have you set the CLASSPATH correctly in the Weblogic->Server Start?
    2. Are all the required jar files present?

  • ABAP Trial version u2013 starting the application server

    Hi,
    I have a problem starting the application server via the management console. After choosing action ->start I have to enter user and password. Do I have to create a new user password combination, use the OS password or try bcuser and minisap? None of these three options worked out. I always get the message 'Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials'. Or went there something wrong during the installation?
    Thanks for your help.
    Birgit

    Hey Birgit,
    In my case I installed ABAP Trial version (also known as MiniSap) on my local machine (Windows).
    When I turn on the machine, my Windows(OS) requires a User/Password (It was configured this way but it is possible you configure to not require a User/Password, it uses a default).
    When I instaled the ABAP Trial version, I logged on with a User/Password with administrator rights (it is necessary for installation).
    When, in the "Management Console", I start the ABAP (the "NSP" node), it asks me the user and password and I use the OS User/Password that I used to install ABAP Trial (above).
    If you are doing the same I don't know why the message "Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials".

  • WLST problems when starting the server

    Hi all,
    I try to use WSLT (with ant) to start bea within an existing domain. The ant target is:
    <target name="start-server">
    <echo message="Starting bea weblogic..."/>
         <wlserver
         dir="${domain.home}"
         beahome="${weblogic.home}/.."
         weblogichome="${weblogic.home}"
         servername="${server.name}"
         domainname="${domain.name}"
         username="${weblogic.user.name}"
         password="${weblogic.user.password}"
         host="${server.host}"
         port="${server.port}"
         generateconfig="false"
         action="start"
         failonerror="true"
         configFile="/config/config.xml"
         classpath="${weblogic.home}/server/lib/weblogic.j ar"
         verbose="true"
         />
    </target>
    Unfortunately I got hundrets of NoClassDefFoundError when running this target. Serveral for each deployed component. Therefore I put classpath extensions to different files:
    1. %BEA_HOME%\user_projects\domains\wcsdomain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
    2. %BEA_HOME%\user_projects\domains\wcsdomain\bin\setDomainEnv.cmd
    3. %BEA_HOME%\weblogic91\common\bin\commEnv.cmd
    4. %BEA_HOME%\weblogic91\server\binsetWLSEnv.cmd
    But the classes are still missing.
    Question:
    Can anyone tell me where to put classpath extensions for the deployment jars?
    Thanks

    You are not using WLST any where, you are using the wlserver ant task. The wlserver ant task does not use the scripts to start the server. You should add the jars to the wlserver classpath element.

  • Problems starting WebLogic server in Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0

    I'm having an issue converting an application that was developed to run under OAS to use WebLogic Server. I downloaded Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0, configured the integrated server and the default domain, and then I try to start the server. The server starts but during the startup process I receive this exception:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.w3c.dom.Element.getTextContent()Ljava/lang/String;
         at oracle.security.audit.config.XMLContext.getTextContent(XMLContext.java:136)
         at oracle.security.audit.config.Attribute.<init>(Attribute.java:194)
         at oracle.security.audit.config.CommonAttributes.<init>(CommonAttributes.java:63)
         at oracle.security.audit.config.EventDefinitionList.<init>(EventDefinitionList.java:122)
         at oracle.security.audit.config.AuditConfig.readGenericEvents(AuditConfig.java:612)
         at oracle.security.audit.config.AuditConfig.loadEvents(AuditConfig.java:1071)
         at oracle.security.audit.Auditor.<init>(Auditor.java:214)
    This then affects the deployment and execution of the web app. Does anyone have any advice or a cure for this problem? We have the org.w3c.dom.Element class in the xmlparserv2.jar file that we have external to Jdev but all those seem to be earlier than Java 1.5, because they don't have the getTextContent() method.
    Thanks,
    Sharon

    Which operating system you are running on?Windows 7
    Have you tired to move the user directory to a path without spaces?No spaces in any paths that I can see.
    Look for the system11.1.1.xxxx folder and remove or rename it. Jdev created the folder from scratch next time you start.Done that, multiple times (folder is system11.1.2.1.38.60.81). When we first started seeing this error, that was the advice that many people gave in various discussion groups. We were working in an older version of Jdeveloper at that time. So then I downloaded the latest Jdev installation from the Oracle download site, thinking that maybe the older version had an older JDK embedded. I've installed twice now, once with using the embedded Sun JDK of 1.6.0_24 and once using our own separately downloaded version of 1.6.0_24 and I get the error in either case.
    You are correct that it is probably an installation problem, but I have no idea what it could be.
    Sharon

    It appears that you have two different problems:
    1 -- you are using an expired certificate. You should download the
    latest version of the evaluation to get a new certificate.
    2 -- you should check out the documentation on using the
    Weblogic.class.path. That is where you should put all of your user
    classes including those that you get from Oracle.
    Thanks,

    I am having problems starting the weblogic server with third party
    libraries (i.e. oralce's sqlj's translator.zip, runtime.zip and
    classes2.zip). The following exception is thrown when the server is
    initialising:
    Can someone explain what is wrong please?

  • Problems Starting Identity Server

    Greetings all,
    I'm attempting to get Identity Server installed and running under Web Server 6.0SP5.
    I've created and installed a war, set the waveset.home option on the JVM, I've imported the init.xml (MySQL DB) and ran through the Demo Org wizard. That all has gone fine until I restarted the web server to login (previoulsy showing the Import Exchange File page.)
    Now when the web server attempts to start up the servlet(s) I get this error:

    I've downloaded the laters jss4.jar from mozilla and placed it in the $WSHOME/WEB-INF/lib directory and added it to the front of the JVM's class path.
    Any further suggestions. I really appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

    Jeremy,
    What is the version of IDM you are trying to install/run? Also, what is "Web Server 6.0SP5"? Is that the Sun Web server?
    You may want to check if the version of IDM you are trying to install is supported on the version of web server you are installing on.

    I just downloaded and installed the J2EE 1.3-beta2-b35 under Windows 2000 Professional.

  • Reloading JavaBeans in a JSP without re-starting the server

              The JSP will get recompiled but the bean is already sucked in by the server. Even if you break the session by doing reqest.getSession.invalidate() at the end of your JSP - it still persists. Even try removing your bean class and you will still see that the page is working. That proves it doesn't use .class anymore. However when you touch your .jsp at this time and try to re-display it in the browser you will get compilation error because .class cannot be imported. When you put a new class and repeat it, it compiles against that new class but still executes with the old one. Until you restart the WebLogic server...

  • Starting the server in Japanese mode after deployment in english mode.

    Hi,
    I have a problem
    We are developing some system for Japanese clients.
    Now problem is that we need to deploy all on their server which shows every hting
    in Japanese. Its going to be really very difficult for us.
    Is there any key or property in weblogic server by changing that we can change
    the language (english-->japanese)
    Actually what I wanted was first to run the server in English mode. deploy each
    and every thing sucessfuly.
    Then stop the server.
    Change that flag or whatever to use japanese character set.
    Start the server again so that it run in japanese language and having every thing
    already deployed.
    Is it possible approach?
    Any other suggestions are also most welcome.
    Thanks and Regards
    Pavitra

    Hi,
    You would have to use the below command to give the root directory to start the server in MSI mode
    -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=path
    Example:
    java -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=c:\MyServerRootDirectory weblogic.ServerTo get more information on this you can check the below link
    Topic: Starting a Managed Server in MSI Mode

    Thanks for the reply Eric.
    Initially I didn't start db server before starting Admin server.But now as per your reply, I started db and then started the server.It got started.So does that mean I should start the Oracle Database first and then start server?
    The exception are still there in log.
