  • Is XI included in Netweaver Preview 2004s

    Hi all,
I would like to know is XI also included in Netweaver 2004s(ABAP Preview edition).
    Thanks in advance.
    Suresh

    yes I agree with Rich
I also think the preview edition just exists of the SAP Web AS (which since 6.40 contains the BW component)

Anyone install NW04S preview on XP Media Center  ?
    Thanks

  • Any news on Sneak Preview (ABAP or JAVA)  working on Vista yet.

    Hi there
anybody got  the latest ABAP or JAVA netweaver preview  version to install on Vista.
I'm still running it under VMWARE on XP.
I also want to load up the JAVA version but this needs a lot of resources so running this on another VM might be too much.
Running native on Vista on an 8GB RAM machine might be better if it works.
    Cheers

Can we still get license updates for the ABAP trial already downloaded
<b>Sure! You can still request license keys for previous releases</b>

  • GUI not working anymore after installing of ABAP preview

    Hi,
I have sapgui 6.40 installed on my computer.
Now after installing the Netweaver Preview ABAP stack (the installation worked fine) I cannot start my sapgui anymore.
I get a messagebox with the following message:
"The procedure entry point RfcResetTraceDir could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBRFC32.dll".
The current version of the LIBRFC32.dll in the system32 directory is 7.xx.
I replaced it with an 6.xx version, but it didnt help.
As far as I know the RFC dll is up- and downwards compatible, so I cant explain this error.
    Any suggestions ?
    Regards,
    Elko

Now I deinstalled SAPGUI from my system and reinstalled the 6.40 version.
But I get still the same error. Whats the problem. Why is the Netweaver Preview messing up my GUI installation ??

  • Netweaver Developer Studio question

From where can I download the Netweaver Developer Studio?   I was told it was available on sdn.  If it's here, I am having trouble locating it.
    Thanks

    Hi Wardell,
The SAP NetWeaver Preview editions contain the Developer Studio.  See https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads -> NW.
If you have a Service Marketplace login it is also available at http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Download -> Installations and Upgrades -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP NETWEAVER 2004S -> Installation and Upgrade -> <OS Platform> -> <DB Platform>.

  • 512 Mb Ram and NetWeaver??

hi, is it actually possible to install NetWeaver preview on a laptop with only 512 Mb Ram?
    thank you

    Hi Kuatroka
For ABAP, Min. 1GB, Intel Pentium III/1.1 GHz or higher, 13GB hard disc space recommended. (we are using the same config and peformance is satisfactory)
You can download it from here
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6
Other system pre requsite is as follows
    Full ABAP System Requirements
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 1) or Windows Server 2003
    NTFS-File systems
Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher
    At least 1 GB RAM
Intel Pentium III/1.1 GHz or higher (or compatible)
13 GB hard disk space recommended
    High-resolution monitor (1024x768 or higher, 256 colors)
Sun Microsystems J2SE SDK version 1.4.2_08 (Sun JDK 1.5 not tested)
If you have already installed SAP products on your computer, you must ensure that none of the systems are called "NSP".
The file C:WINNTsystem32driversetcservices (Windows 2000) or C:Windowssystem32driversetcservices (Windows XP) must not include an entry for the ports 3201, 3601 and 50000 to 50030. A possible entry can be excluded by using the hash symbol (#).

  • Connect SAPGUI with Netweaver 2004

    Hello,
i just installed the Netweaver Preview and now i try to connect with the SAPGUI (7.0) to this server.
I tried with the Advanced Confguration
    conn=/H/devwin2k3/S/50100
    But this does not work.
The Server is running (every icon in the sapmmc is green)
The Portalserver is responding and working when i connect to it with a webbrowser.
    Any ideas?
    jan

    System ID J2E????
Are you trying to reach an abap backend system or a J2EE engine or a portal??
If you're trying to reach the R/3 backend, check the SID and system number, if you still have problems, check that in the SAPMMC all the lights are green, if not check the logs dev_disp, dev_ms, dev _w0
    I'm a bit confused here!
To connect to the J2EE engine page
    http://<localhost.fqdn>:<port>
    To connect to portal
    http://<localhost.fqdn>:<port>/irj/portal

  • Accessing ABAP Functions in Web Dynpro

    Hi all,
for testing reasons I would like to implement a simple Web Dynpro Application which access APAP functions (or BAPIs) on a remote SAP backend system. The problem is that I dont have a SAP backend system
    There is a tutorial :
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/355b9c90-0201-0010-d2a8-89fece426526">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/355b9c90-0201-0010-d2a8-89fece426526</a>
    which states some prerequisites.
    My question:
Is it possible to comply to all these prerequisites by installing NetWeaver Preview and minisap as remote SAP backend system ? Where can I get minisap ?
I'm quite new to SAP so I'm al little unsure which part belongs where.
Maybe someone can give me a hint.
    Thanx a lot

    Hi Oliver,
here you can download all you need:

  • Better alternative to header lines, use of logical database, field-symbols

    Hello experts,
I am wondering if theres a better and faster alternative than declaring a header line for an itab. are work areas faster?
What is the use of logical database? can you please give me an example on how to use it in reports.
how do I use field-symbols? I am confused on how it works.
P.S. I recently installed SAP netweaver preview abap edition
in my home PC and I am wondering if I could practice BDC, user exits, etc. If so, how?
Again, thanks for all your help since I'm kinda new to ABAP.

I always use this...It uses header lines, but at least is smaller -:)
<b>DATA: BEGIN OF MY_TAB TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF BKPF WITH HEADER LINE.</b>
For logical databases, you can check my blog...I always use LDB for HR programs -:)
    <a href="/people/alvaro.tejadagalindo/blog/2006/02/19/how-to-deal-with-hr-payroll-reports:///people/alvaro.tejadagalindo/blog/2006/02/19/how-to-deal-with-hr-payroll-reports
LDB's provides a lot of information, because they gather it from a lot of different tables...
    A Field-Symbols is like a pointer in C++, like an alias for a variable...Here's a small example...
    REPORT Z_ATG_DUMMY.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <F1>, <F2> TYPE I.
DATA: TEXT(20) TYPE C VALUE 'Hello, how are you?',
          NUM TYPE I VALUE 5,
          BEGIN OF LINE1,
          COL1 TYPE F VALUE '1.1e+10',
          COL2 TYPE I VALUE '1234',
          END OF LINE1,
          LINE2 LIKE LINE1.
    ASSIGN TEXT TO <F1>.
    ASSIGN NUM TO <F2>.
    DESCRIBE FIELD <F1> LENGTH <F2>.
    TEXT = 'CHAU'.
WRITE: / <F1>, 'has length', NUM.
WRITE: / TEXT, 'has length', NUM.
    ASSIGN LINE1 TO <F1>.
    ASSIGN LINE2-COL2 TO <F2>.
    MOVE <F1> TO LINE2.
    ASSIGN 'LINE2-COL2 =' TO <F1>.
I just can't install SAPNWSP...I only got MiniSap...But I got all the development enviorment...Don't know about the User-Exits...Actually I don't think so...Because those "mini" systems doesn't come with any functional module.
    Greetings,
    Blag.

  • Configuring Alert Monitor

    Hi Friends,
I have installed the Netweaver Full ABAP Preview edition in a WinXP system and trying to setup CCMS locally. Currently I don't see any data under the Alert Monitor(RZ20). I just see the tree elements but no monitors under them. What do I need to do to get data in the tree. Below are some of the steps that I have tried after reading some documentation
    1. Created CSMREG user
    2. Created CSMCONF file
    3. Tried to register the CCMS agent by executing sapccmsr.exe -R. But after I provide the password for CSMREG user the process quits with the below error
ERROR: Registration failed: Can't get version of NSP.C_CALL_FAILED. RFC Error Info for SALS_MS_GET_LOCAL_MS_INFO
Even tried with the command sapccmsr.exe -R pf=<path to the profile file> but it quits at once with the error Cannot open Monioting Segment 99 MoniSegmentSize too small
I believe the Netweaver Preview edition has all the CCMS agent installed.
Can someone please help me with setting up the Alert Monitor.
