How to check Netweaver Version
hi Friends,
I have a doubt as how to determine the Netweaver version,
As i have installed ECC6.0 (i.e. ERP 2005) and its based on Netweaver 2004S
But still how can i find out whether its
SAP NetWeaver 7.1
or
NetWeaver 7.0 (= NetWeaver 2004s),
Waiting for your reply...
Regards
AayushHi Aayush,
indeed for an SAP ECC 6.0 system, there is no easy way to see that it is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (fka SAP NetWeaver 2004s). System -> Status shows you ECC 6.0 (which is a product version). Using the icon for component details, you can see the software component versions. SAP_BASIS 7.0 is the key to know that the system is related to SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
For Java, as Mona already stated, the software components can be found on the system status page:
7.1 based java server: http://<hostname>:<port num>/nwa/sysinfo
7.0 based java server. http://<hostname>:<port num>/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo
Please note that there has already been some threads on this question in this forum, so as always it is worth searching first ...

BPC Netweaver version - Conversion File Formulas
BPC (Netweaver) Expert,
When creating formulas on the Data Conversion File that is called by the Transformation File, the Formulas are not working on the Netweaver Version. Does anyone have any idea what may not be set up correctly?
Thanks,
Greg RotvoldHello Greg,
BPC Netweaver uses somewhat different syntax for conversion formulas, and uses javascript for complex formulas, so formulas written using Visual Basic on the MS version will not work, though the basic *IF logic should work (I think I'm remembering MS conversion formulas correctly, but it's been a while). You can find the relevant Netweaver version documentation here: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75_nw/helpdata/en/81/94a8a5febd40268d5c59b4fc31be37/frameset.htm]
If you want help specifically on the Netweaver version I suggest you ask your question in the Netweaver forum. I'm not sure what forum is most appropriate for questions about the differences between the two versions

Migration from BPC Microsoft Version to BPC netweaver Version?
Dear all,
we plan to migrate bpc.
what tools that we use to Migration BPC Microsoft Version to BPC netweaver Version ?
Any suggestion for safety technique?Hi Tara,
As far as I know there is no automatic method provided by SAP right now to migrate from SAP BPC MS to SAP BPC NW.
Please have in mind that the front end will be the same, but the backend will be different: BW, BADIS and ABAP (In NW) vs SQL, SSIS packages, Stored Procedures and Visual Basic (In MS). Which means that there will not be an easy way to perform this migration in an automatic way.
Hope this helps -
Dear friends,
I'm confused, how do I know which version of the NetWeaver is used in my system?
On one of the sites I found information that shows how to know the version of the NetWeaver, that used in the system:
The component SAP_AP version = NetWeaver, is it right ???Hi Albert,
Check the version of components SAP_ABA and SAP_BASIS shows the netweaver version. In case Netweaver products, version is visible in System- status - sap system data - components version like SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.31, in other products above sw components gives the netweaver version.

Difference between BPC 5.1 Microsoft and BPC 7.0 Netweaver Version
Hello Experts,
We will be migrating our BPC from 5.1 microsoft to SAP Netweaver version. Actually, I dont have any idea on the netweaver version. Can anyone advise the different between the microsoft version and netweaver? Also, can I reuse my reports and script logics in 5.1 to Netweaver? Can I do a migration from 5.1 to the netweaver platform?
Please advise.
Thanks,
KatherineHi Katherine,
The main difference is that 5.1 runs on the MS SQL as backend, whereas 7.0 NW has the BI system as the backend. 7.0 NW doesnt have BPFs. In terms of script logics also, lot of keywords from 5.1 are not supported in 7.0 NW.
There is a migration tool available for doing this type of activity. It will take care of most of the objects. However, the BPFs will not be migrated, since 7.0 Nw doesnt support it. The script logics need to be modified. As I said, lot of keywords from 5.1 are no longer supported in 7.0 NW. So, you might need to consider BADIs for complex data manipulations. The reports and input schedules should not have any problems. However, its recommended to run all the templates to verify.
Hope this helps. -

Question on Netweaver version and XI 3.0 SP17
In order to install SP17 what version of Netweaver should we be on. My client is on Netweaver 2004s. Can they not migrate to SP17?
Thank you for your input.
Regards,
PamHi Parimala,
SP 17 is for XI 3.0 for Netweaver 2004.
For Netweaver 2004s, you have PI 7.0 and SP7.

Multiple Software Versions Question
Rookie question here. My organization recently purchased a new copy of InDesign CS6 for me and one other employee. We did NOT purchase Creative Cloud subscriptions, but hard copy licenses. The software is working great and we love your product. The problem we are having is in regards to other people in our organization trying to open our newly created InDesign Documents (CS6) with their older version of the software (CS5). We do NOT have the option to upgrade the CS5 software licenses, so what are our options for those employees with CS5 to be able to view and edit documents created in CS6? I'm assuming there is a way to save the CS6 documents as older versions, correct? We all operate Windows PC's. I greatly appreciate your help.
@Todd – the only way saving back is exporting to IDML from CS6 and open the IDML in CS5.
If this is a reliable workflow is questionable. You have to proofread the opened IDML in CS5. I recommend to export to PDF from CS6 as well and compare the PDF with the opend IDML in CS5.

Upgrading from BPC MS version to Netweaver version 7.5
Hi experts
My client is in the process of implementing the MS version of BPC but have now invested heavily in the Netweaver environment and would like to migrate to the NW version 7.5 of BPC. Please can I get some views on the complexity involved in migration and whether there are any tools available to assist?
Thank you.Hi,
As a matter of fact, there is a tool for migrating from MS to NW version. I would request you to get in touch with your local SAP RIG team for further information on this. There is a certification required for getting the access to this tool.
This toll will take care of most of the objects. However, there are few manual things to be done. BPFs cannot be migrated. Hence, you need to re-design the BPF in 7.5 NW. Lot of statement in script logic are not supported in the NW version. So, that needs to be re-visited.
Hope this helps. -
Acrobat.exe product version question
Hi
Does anyone know of a link in Adobe where it shows every product version number for all acrobat.exe they have produced?
Basically i just want to be able to see which version of the file is a professional and standard version. (Based on the file product number).
eg. Acrobat.exe product number 8.1.0.2007051100 is a professional version.
Thanks
DMI think there is a list, but the problem is it may vary based on the source and version as I recall a comment before. Anyway, the fastest way of getting the information is still probably to run the program, using one with Pro and one with Std. Sorry that I can't be more helpful, but the last time I saw a question about these numbers the answer was rather mixed and indicated it varied with the source of the product and several other factors. I don't really know more.
